I lived in Dubai for 6 years, it was fantastic. Much better standard of living than the UK. If the money didn't run out I'd still be there. The locals were very friendly, even in the other emirati states. Also met lovely locals in Syria who put me up and fed me for free. Didn't like Kuwait as it is full of bossy Americans who treat the locals like dirt, very embarrassing how Americans can be guests in other people's countries and not act like guests. Quite common for Americans to murder locals in their own countries. For this reason I don't invite Americans into my home, just to be on the safe side. No disrespect intended of course.

Think of how much more livable your life is due to Thomas Edison. Do you think he sat around worrying about his inner demons? No, he used his intelligence, imagination and charisma to make a profit for himself while passing on many elements of modern living which we enjoy to this day.
