>> ..and yet NY has more tribesman than entire Israel

Expect to see more attacks like this.

=====

Many French Jews already are. Last year, 7,000 emigrated to Israel as anti-Semitism spiked across France, fed by tensions with the country's large Arab population after the outbreak of Israel's war against Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip. That was double the previous year, making France, for the first time, the No. 1 source of immigration to Israel, according to theJewish Agency, a nonprofit group that works closely with the government to help bring Jews to Israel.

Officials in Israel are expecting — and encouraging — a new influx following the Paris standoff. Since last week's attacks, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has encouraged European Jews to move to the Jewish state.

"You have the full right to live in safety and tranquility as citizens with equal rights wherever you wish, including here in France," Netanyahu said at the Great Synagogue of Paris late Sunday, where he got a hero's welcome. "But Jews of our time have been blessed with another right, a right that did not exist for previous generations of Jews: the right to join their Jewish brothers and sisters in our historic homeland ... Any Jew who wishes to immigrate to Israel will be welcomed with open arms and warm and accepting hearts."

=====

It was a relief to see French cartoonist Maurice Sinet — pen name Siné — acquitted of charges of “inciting racial hatred,” brought by The International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism, at the court in Lyon earlier this week. Siné was fired from his long-time employer, the venerable French weekly satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, last year, after having provocatively insinuated that President Sarkozy’s son was going to opportunistically convert to Judaism to marry the Jewish heiress of the hardware chain Darty.

It's nice to know Europeans are just as susceptible to becoming useful idiots just like Americans.  For the most part the French (especially their government) hate Muslims.  They can never become French citizens, they live in the ghettos and aren't even allowed to wear ridiculous religious clothing like a burka.  If France was some utopia of equality and tolerance, a magazine cover like this would be 100% legit, but it's not.  That country is overtly hostile to Muslims, and this is only going to get worse.

The French "deteste" the Jews and the Sinti. They also deteste "Les Bosches" (Germans).

Je suis juif was a massive fail.

I really don't get it. A couple of quasi hired guns shoot up the editorial of a so so successful cartoon magazine despite the fact that there were guards already posted at the door. Those hired guns could have picked dozens of other targets that were 100% easier to accomplish.

Then these guys leave their id in the car and get identified immediately. Tracked and chased through France and die in a massive shootout. Couple days later a massive turnout from world leaders at a "unity" march. How did their schedules get cleared so quickly and nevermind the suggested lack of security detail which as we all know now was in place.

This past week was a total waste of space imo.

1) A study from the Pew Institute measured various countries’ sympathies towards the Jewish people.

The results are not necessarily what you would have expected: France placed second with 82% having a favorable view of the Jews, right after the Netherlands at 85%.

Behind France were Canada and Great Britain. The big surprise: the US was 5th with just 77% of Americans having a favorable view.

However, it must be noted that fewer Americans had a negative view of the Jews than did the French (7% vs 16%).

http://www.pewglobal.org/2005/07/14/islamic-extremism-common-concern-for-muslim-and-western-publics/

2) Among other European countries, the French have the most favourable views of the Germans (81% positive)

That is because islam is overtly hostile towards anybody or anything that doesn't want that religion to dominate. Satire was one of the weapons with which Europeans broke the dictatorship of the church. Now they are using it to break the dictatorship of islam because that is what religion is all about. I can't believe that in the 21st century where men has the power to look inside atoms and into the furthest corners of time and space people still subscribe to religious non-sense from hundreds of years ago.

one possible interpretation;
the followers of the religion "islam" as represented by
the cartoon character(Mohammad) will suffer the blowback from

cynical sarcasm. the tear is for the the ongoing and

As a kid, a friend and I found a huge hornets nest in the nook of a tree. Curious, we got up close and probed it with sticks. The hornets were flying about our heads, but we were unconcerned. Then suddenly the tone from their wings change, and a cloud of hornets swarmed around us. I don't remember dropping my stick, or even how I got a block and a half away from the nest. I do remember nursing the three burning stings that I had received. My friend had ten. Lesson learned, and hornets everywhere were, and still are, safe from being probed with a stick by me.

Assume that it is not a false-flag. Now realize that it is just more proof that the money and power stealing government cannot deliver on their lie of providing "safety and protection."

Not surprising considering that government is run by a bunch of criminal psychopaths. The gatherings in Paris over the weekend, far from being a united display of world leaders against terrorism, was actually the leading terrorists themselves on display.

With every week that goes by I see less "soul" in the eyes of anyone, famous or Joe public, who doesn't question outright most of the shit they are led to believe. The so called windows have their (subconsciously induced) shutters down. Allow me 5 seconds to look into a persons eyes in 2015 and I will tell you their view points and beliefs on an absolute myriad of topics.

The hive mind has a disgusting poisonous queen in residence. And the workers don't even know it. Fucking scary! That's what scares me the most anyway.

I've seen a few of the cartoons published by Charlie and didn't see anything clever or humorous. It appeared that the content was intended to inflame.  I also think if some American rag printed a cartoon of Jesus on the cross with a rosary decending from  his hole like a string of pearls while bishops collected the effluence in cups to share with the bethren might cause some christian zealots to be anxst.  I never condone violence though.

What happened to the Charlie Hebdo writers was horrific but it's hard to stand behind a publication that pilliories Muslim and Jewish people in such a disrespectful grotesque manner.

It is brilliant. Very powerful. Mo is showing a mea culpa or at least says 'not in my name'. 'All is forgiven' shows that the power of love and forgiveness is stronger than hate. Of course, it is satire and one of the purposes of satire is to provoke in order to make people think so it will be interesting to see how the followers of the religion of peace will react. When they react with hate -which they will do- they will completely subscribe to how Mo really was in life.

At least, that is my take on it. It is open to various interpretations. But "chapeau" Charlie Hebdo.

At the risk of provoking anti-Islamic rage against me, I would offer that freedom of speech must be contained within the context of 'responsible speech'.  Speech that is known to provoke incendiary reaction from the target and which intentionally insults or hurts said target should not be allowed.  We have so-called 'hate speech' laws in place to protect minorities such as LGBT's and Jews.  In certain countries of Europe, one can be fined and jailed for saying something offensive to Jews in a public manner.  Who decides when Jews are offended?  The Jews, of course.  But not so for the followers of Islam.  These appear to be fair game.  We know that images of the Prophet are deeply offensive to Muslims, and yet in the name of free speech we allow this - yes, even encourage it.  Hypocritical at best: dangerously and intentionally provocative at worst (as Charlie Hebdo has clearly shown).

If you wish to live in peace with people, don't insult those things held sacred by them.  Respect people and their beliefs.

Tue, 01/13/2015 - 03:59 | 5654591 Joe A
Joe A's picture

Fuck you and your sensibilities.

So it is alright for religions to insult those who don't share their beliefs and even call for the destruction of them? Such as the case with islam that calls for throwing gays off rooftops, heads first. Or the killing of Jews (there are plenty of examples where that happened recently during ralleys for Palestine but people were not arrested and prosecuted for that). So, it is alright for religions and their books to call for the violent destruction of 'the other'? And any religion is guilty of that. Then once of a sudden it is 'religious freedom'. Remember, Charlie Hebdo does not call for violence against anyone, religions do. Go and read their books. The history of religions is filled with hatred and violence. All in the name of love of course.

Your words: "If you wish to live in peace with people, don't insult those things held sacred by them.". Like freedom of speech, asshole.

If you are going to go around shouting obsenities at Muslims, perhaps you ought to take a look at this - http://www.veteranstoday.com/2015/01/12/fiasco-france-lie-to-me-once/

At least cast blame on where it belongs - in this case, odds are that Muslims had little to do with the Charlie massacre - indeed, perhaps you should be looking towards Netanyahu and his Mossad who just recently offered up a veiled threat to France if they were to approve a Palestinian state.  The reaction of the public, and obviously you, was exactly as designed.  You should feel good that you are doing precisely what those controlling these events want.  Or should you?

Tue, 01/13/2015 - 08:47 | 5654823 Joe A

At ZH we can speak our minds. You would like to see free speech replaced with 'responsible speech' or whatever you called it. You are therefore for censorship. Funny also that you never responded to the things I said about how religions can say the host horrible things about unbelievers, Jews, etc. Should they also apply responsible speech? Or are you one of those that say that that is part of freedom of religion? As long as religion say the most horrible things about others then others have the right to mock them. Religions go even further. They call for violence for those who are different from themselves. And they actually apply that. Every day in the islamic world people that are not muslem or not of the same flavor are being killed, tortured, raped, discriminated or otherwise maltreated. Every day.

Now Charlie Hebdo never calls for violence.

Seems I am using my brain more than you do.

The world needs to ban the old text that implies people can avenge (kill others)  on behalf of the prophet,  and tackle that, head on NOW.   Moderate muslims need to be on the streets, in their millions stamping out radical Islam, else they'll all be targeted as soon as the suicide bombers start waltzing into Western shopping malls. I fear it's too little, (read  ' fuck all '  from the moderate muslims) too late.

I guess , the inevitable creep of war build up against Islam, will be good for the economy though ?   Damn shame, seems humans still favour that route of problem resolution.

Moderate Muslims, all eyes on you. Are you going to stand up and confront others doing wicked deeds under the name of your ' peaceful ' religion , or continue to  hide and watch the point of no return pass before your eyes ?

Good luck.

"On April 26, 1999, the leaders of Charlie Hebdo carried cartons to the Department of the Interior containing 173,700 signatures calling for a ban of the National Front. It was a matter of defending freedom of expression! Manuel Valls said that “[Eric] Zemmour’s book does not deserve to be read,” while another minister asked without shame that “TV shows and newspaper columns cease to harbor such remarks.” To say nothing of the Dieudonné case."
