Record Crowd In German Anti-Islam Rally Forces Merkel To Urge Tolerance
In Germany, citizens are increasingly worried, with 57% of non-Muslims seeing Islam as a threat; and these fears prompted, as Bloomberg reports, about 25,000 people to turn out for an anti-Islam rally last night in the eastern city of Dresden. Protesters demanded tighter immigration laws, measures to fight 'religious preachers of hatred' and a zero-tolerance policy for immigrants who commit crimes. Angela Merkel has urged tolerance after the rally, warning that some of the organizers have "hatred in their hearts," but it appears the slippery clope has begun, summed up by one 73-year-old German, "I want lots of money for a program to pay Muslims to go home."
As Bloomberg reports, support for the anti-immigrant movement comes as the number of refugees arriving in Germany, mainly from the Middle East and Africa, surged by almost 60 percent last year, with the government estimating that 200,000 entered the country.
Overall, 61 percent of Germans say Islam isn’t compatible with life in the West, up from 52 percent three years ago. The country has 4 million Muslims out of a population of 81 million.
“There’s deep frustration over the silent Islamization taking place in Germany,” said Gerd Medger, 67, who advises companies seeking business contacts in Brazil and attended the Dresden rally waving a German flag. “If our governments let such violent people into Europe then we shouldn’t be surprised at these acts of violence.”
So it is no wonder that so many disenchanted Germans turned out...
About 25,000 people turned out for the anti-Islam rally last night in the eastern city of Dresden. The group is one of a number of anti-immigrant organizations in countries from France to the U.K. and Netherlands that say the killings last week of 17 people in Paris by Islamists justify their stance. The shootings “ram home our point,” the Dresden march organizers wrote on Facebook.
The rise of the Dresden movement, which calls itself Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West, or Pegida in German, follows successes last year in state and European Union elections by the anti-euro Alternative for Germany.

Merkel, Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel and other senior politicians will participate in the march this evening in Berlin to promote inclusion organized by the country’s Muslim organizations. The Jewish community have also been invited.
“People who come to us out of deprivation or fear, who need protection, deserve to be treated here with dignity,” Merkel said today in Berlin. “We need to turn against everything that places into question our fundamental values, the values in our constitution.”
But it appears the underlying tension is rising...
“Politics cannot ignore this: they have to do something even if it’s only symbolic on immigration or security,” Joerg Forbrig, the senior program director at the German Marshall Fund of the U.S., said by phone from Berlin.“The CDU must take this seriously. They have to preempt the AfD otherwise there will be a stronger momentum building behind the party.”
Pegida demands tighter immigration laws, measures to fight “religious preachers of hatred” and a zero-tolerance policy for immigrants who commit crimes. The group has seen growing support for its almost weekly demonstrations in Dresden that began in October with just a few hundred people.

“My worst fears have been confirmed by what happened in Paris,” said Juergen Uhlemann, 73, a retired electrical engineer dressed in a fur-fringed parka against temperatures just over freezing and gusting winds. “This kind of attack could happen here. I want lots of money for a program to pay Muslims to go home.”
Germans also came out in large numbers last night to protest against the anti-Islam demonstrators, with more than 100,000 joining counter rallies across the country in cities that included Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Dusseldorf, according to figures from German news agency DPA.

Europe brought this on themselves by abandoning Christianity. Churches in Europe, especially those beautiful cathedrals built by the Catholics, are simply museums -- they host very little worship. With this void of religious expression, Islam has become an unstoppable force.
I am a simple Southerner. There isn't much I can personally do to create change in this screwed up world. Although I have them, stockpiles of canned foods and a concealed weapons permit can only go so far. I can, however, resist by embracing my Protestant religion. I take my kids to church. We pray as a family. This does several things: it bonds us as a family unit, which our American culture is trying so hard to break down. It reinforces to my children what their culture is, after spending a day at school where they are force fed a constant diet of multiculturalism and white guilt. It helps me put world events in perspective. It makes the brainwashing and misinformation of the media and pop culture crystal clear.
I am your coworker, your neighbor, the woman in the shopping line in front of you. I'm not going to evangelize to you or implore you to join my church. I totally understand why people have been turned off to organized religion. But I would encourage Europeans to come back to Christianity before their religion is decided for them.

Totally agree with you, however I think you have to find your true Christian leader at the local level. I've been to many different Protestant denominations/churches over the years; finally found the right one. When you keep things at the local level, it is a more "under the radar" versus a worldwide leader which as you so correctely point out has major forces against it, ready to tear it down.

I am interested in your statement about white guilt. I am guessing it has to do with the South's slave trade. Germans have their guilt too- over the holocaust. Regarding Muslim immigrants: they largely do not assimilate to the Western cultures to which they move. My grandfather immigrated from Europe as a child; he fully embraced American culture and was not hostile to it. How many immigrants can truly say the same?
I think you also misunderstood me regarding "white guilt"; let me explain: American children are being indoctrinated in their schools through the curriculum. They are being taught that white people of European ancestry are largely the cause of all ills in the world. They are being taught that Christians are violent oppressors, and Islam is the religion of peace. The point of my original post was that parents must teach their children about their own culture so that the children are not brainwashed into thinking they are bad because of the color of their skin or their religious beliefs.

It astounds me that Americans were willing to elect a Muslim to the presidency. Had it not been the false meme he was 'black' (he is racially of Indonesian/Filipino descent if anyone carefully studies his features) and 'white guilt' he would never have been elected. Of course, this reveals even more about the conspiracy, as he is obviously not of African origin. Having spent many years in Asia, when he first came to national prominence, I saw him as South Asian. I was surprised when he was advertised as an African/Caucasian individual.

I dunno what the best solution is, but you ignore that many of them will not speak the Turkish language and have little or no relationship with Turkish culture. Such people are often treated as aliens or outcasts in their parents' homeland.

There is nothing wrong with muslim immigration, as long as those seeking to relocate are told in no uncertain terms that Sharia and independence of a Republic's Law will NOT be tolerated.

The photos and videos I've seen indicate that the anti-Muzzie protestors are mainly lonely-looking Kraut dudes. The Kraut women are too busy trying to bang Turk, Arab, and African dudes to show up at the protests. Maybe the Kraut men's time would be better spent strapping iinpenetrable case-hardened steel chastity belts on their women rather than goose-stepping around in the streets carrying stupid looking signs.
