"Putin Destroyed The New World Order", According To Estonia's President Ilves

Tyler Durden's picture

On the heels of Russia's decision, as we reported here, to "increase [their] combat units in accordance with the new military doctrine," particularly focused on Crimea, NATO responded with threats/promises of more military drills and patrols. Having used their airspace but condescended their perspective as "hysterical," Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves is calling for much stronger NATO presence as he rages that "the world order found after the Cold War has been destroyed," by Putin.

As Die Welt reports (excerpted via Google Translate),

Q: Some EU and NATO members said Estonia was being hystereical [ in its response to Russian provocations]

Ilves: That's typical for people who do not want to look, what actually happened. The world order found after the Cold War has been destroyed. The UN Charter, the Helsinki Final Act were broken, the Paris Charter of 1990 - which says that each country can make his own decisions when it comes to its national security. Moscow has signed himself. That the Georgians towards NATO wanted 2008 was enough reason for a war on Russia. This time is the reason something as small as an Association Agreement with the EU.

Q. Do Estonians have reason to fear?

Ilves: We - in the EU and NATO - have no reason to fear. We are living in a situation such as in West Germany before 1989, the risk is there, one observes bad behavior.

Ilves: I'm really surprised that opinion writers and others in the French and German media blame the EU Association Agreement [for the tension between Russia and Ukraine]. This is little more than a free trade agreement and a student exchange. This is not a big deal. But the Putin [apologists] criticize the EU that it was a mistake.

I'll tell you something: May 8, 1945, the definitive answer to annex other territories because of the minority living there. Germany must understand Russia - this is a thought of blood and soil for us.

Q: Do you feel like an outsider in the Western Alliance?

Ilves: No, but we feel vindicated. For 20 years, us Eastern Europeans have been told to calm down, that Russia is a normal country. And now they see that we were right. A few days ago, we have seen first strategic bomber of the Russian Air Force over the Baltic Sea. And people say we are paranoid. Countries, who say this should rather pay attention to their high deficit and excessive wage costs.

Ilves: Russia has miscalculated the consequences of his actions are much larger than expected, they thought that passes everything quickly, as then in Georgia.

Q:  Do you see a change of mindset in Germany?

Ilves: Germany always found an excuse not to do something: the Second World War, the Gestapo, the Stasi.

Ilves: [NATO partners better change] Because it's embarrassing for them. Because there is not an intellectually convincing answer. But we are not dull small East subhuman. This condescending attitude towards Estonians is repulsive.

ACME was the first multinational cartoon corporation based in China. They made everthing, but nothing that Wile E. Coyote used from them ever worked well against the RoadRunner. So it must have been cheap Chinese junk. Otherwise our friendly lovable little avarian protagonist would have been snuffed by the third episode.

The world order found after the Cold War - it is USSR and half of the world under the control of the Soviet Union - as the Warsaw Pact countries.
This is not Russia, is the United States to destroy the old world order, when they began to expand NATO eastward to the borders with Russia and when they began war occupied countries in all the world.

Ilves is a pathological russophobe and textbook example of a puppet who only serves to translate in Estonian what his masters from DC have told him and keep Esonians in constant fear of "Russian invasion", he has a lot of practice in that because he worked at Pentagons propaganda Radio Free Europe in the 80s. Born in Sweden and grew up in USA he never lived in Estonia untill he was placed there in mid 90s, even his wife Evelin Ilves cheats on him with some french dude Vincent Aranega.

He hates Russia more than his mother hates him.

Bingo! He does not speak for Estonia. He speaks for his masters. He is from the USA, and being Estonian extraction, he was most certainly a CIA asset, and still is. Thus he simply went out to perform for his masters who are liars and war mongers. Sadly, the Estonian people are good people, they don't need or want war. But they let Americans rule them, and they will find war, just like Ukraine. Pushed into war by Zionists in Washington.

How much longer do people of the world allow a few zionists in Washington DC to destory nations and destroy the peace. No coup in Kiev, no war. No war, no problems for Estonia. Fucking CIA stooge should shut up!

I will never accept the Zionist rule, we are under their rule here in the USA, but I wll not accept it. America does not belong to Zionists, they own it, but it is not theirs. Zionist Americans are traitors, someday the traitors will be kicked out, when I don't know.

"KGB/FSB Colonels are not good people by definition.  They are right up there with CIA honchos, and every other vicious security/intel service."

So you would argue this is not true then? Because that is exactly what he said. One way or another, you get ruled by people that you detest.

Endlessly repeating a narrative, as the starting point pretext to commentary does not make for a discussion. People who have been at zero hedge for more than a year generally grasp the narrative, so why keep repeating it every time something perceived as non-complying to the meme drifts into your transom?

It's like repeating a single word to yourself a thousand times, after a few minutes you end up wondering what the word even means. What a strange sound it makes, why has its definition escaped you. Then you realize the word's repetition is revealing the truth of the word, and a pretty silly 'thing' it is.

Some people in zh realize all of the words and narratives are more-or-less meaningless and silly, certainly not worth constantly repeating, just to try and use them as anchors for the mind, avoiding topics and shunning non-conforming realities that are not going away.

Why do it? Can't maintain stability and continuity of thought without the constant wrote justification of the starting point(s), perhaps?

You could try unanchoring yourself from the narrative, your mind won't implode if you un-peg and float it, you just get appreciation or depreciation, relative to those still pegged.

Until we know who owns and controls Russia's central bank, or we see that bad Vlad has taken steps to neutralize it, your suspicions are well founded. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnCP7s-HqG0

Gotta say though, that Vlad and his advisors certainly appear as honest actors when compared their western counterparts.

Still, all the world's a stage, huh?

Yeh, it's long, and William Snakeshit said it first.

I don't think we should casually dismiss Edgar Cayce, either-

He said "Russia will become beacons of hope for the world."  The statement about the 'conceit' (of the Zionist London Banksters?) in England is extraordinary.  Just look at the Zionist conquest of Europe under the EU.  The comment about America having forgotten "in God we Trust" is beyond eerily accurate.  Remember, these statements were made in the 1930s
I close with a final observation-
All the world can be a stage/
And we are merely players/
Performers and portayers/
Each another's audience/
Beyond the gilded (guilded?) cage.
Written by Peart, sung by Lee.
What did they say?
Beyond the guilded cage- Meaning we left you asshole politicians behind about 35 years ago. Are ya' with me, Rand?

A lot of "freedom oriented" individuals share in your history, or at least I do.  Throughout the Cold War years there was good enough reason for the average "western" citizen to fear what the World Wide Commies were up to.

The scales fell from my own eyes when the Warsaw Pact disbanded... and the USA started bombing Serbia.

Putin's public persona and propaganda he spits doesn't interest me in the slightest. Much like anyone from the West. They are sound bites to create a narrative for their audience. This is how the elite operate. What I'm interested in is what they do behind closed doors. ie who he shares blow and strippers with and what they say among themselves away from any media eyes and ears. This is the most intriguing. I sure hope he is the real deal but based on the last 100 years of history I wouldn't hold my breath! They seem to always be able to control both sides of the debate and keep us disorientated but ever hopeful, much like most commenting here including myself.

Hitler's speeches had the same sort of effect, everyone was clear that he was the real-deal, a patriot, an ultra-nationalist, a savior for the ages, inspiring, millennial Reich in train. And JFK, geez, that guy could blab! He was great, a real visionary, he almost destroyed all of human civilization and got maybe ~10 million people butchered in Indochina via his aggression - and for nothing at all. Making omelets breaks a few eggs, it's all good, his speeches made up for it. But you're right, the Rooskies have always been super competitive in the ultra-nationalist pokie-outie chest speeches department, and the fatality rates have been simply astonishing over the past century.  9.7/10

Yes, it is hard for me to understand much of the current movements in Russia without being there, and certainly a newspaper like the guardian does not offer much help.

What I do know is that EUNATO techniques have basically come down to 'I know you are but what am I?' A lot of problems in America/EU are being turned around as accusations against Russia: NSA spying becomes Russian Trolls feeding lies in American social media; false flag attacks become Russia using little green men to invade foreign countries (without ever doing so); EUNATO expansion with nuclear weapons is turned around as Russian aggression/expansionism, etc. Many of the books coming out of Russia denouncing Putin try to make the claim that the writers are in fear of their lives and fighting a new Stalin, make Russia appear as the world's dystopia to remove the light from its own stage.

Whatever the problems in Russia are they are unlikely to be close to what American intelligence claims, and the problems certainly will not be solved by them. Russians are right to be aware of the amount of infiltration in their country, and to be suspicious of pro-democracy and pro-western movements, there is almost certainly money being exchanged before the demonstrations. We will see a lot more of these nationalist and patriotic movements to counter the fake and paid ones.

You forgot that a commodity-cycle boom and bust became a western conspiracy against, firstly the Saudis (but they don't cut production for rational reasons), so secondly, US and Western hydrocarbon production in general is re-configured and repackaged as a devious trade attack on Russia!

lol ... you fucking idiots.

Businesses extract oil, hand-over-fist every time there's a commodities boom, to make money and expand their (hopefully resulting stable) businesses and income. But they did it during a 4-year long global macro slump.

That is what is on-going.

Predictably prices crashed. Well, duh, that's what commodity booms do!

OPEC was the result of a few things, Washington-backed Israeli wars against Arab States, and the need for stable plus higher prices for oil to prevent and buffer booms and busts. So what did OPEC do about it? Get this, they decided not to over produce, as it was too damaging, the price declines were severely impacting producers, businesses and national revenues.

Yet the failure to cap production in any of these new producers, who are not in OPEC, is seen to be a Western conspiracy against the Saudis, and then against Russia!

My Ass it is!

The US Govt had been asking the Saudis to increase production for most of the past decade ... AND THEY POINT BLANK REFUSED.

Allies huh?

So the US then had an ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY, caused by the higher price, to look seriously at alternatives, substitution, and to its own oil development option for their own economic hydrocarbon reserves.

There was also massive promotion of the notion of peak-oil and predictions of massive shortfalls from about 2015. Well guess what, Western Govts have covered for that possibility! Surprise-surprise!

So ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY combined with poor foresight of the implications of too much production produced this situation. Thus broke producers will be bought up by those who sensibly knew what was coming (boom then a massive bust), played the long-game.

Now look at the context:

If the US understands its banks are totally fucked, deficits are in fact uncontrollable, catered for only via overt or else hidden printing, and the dollar is thus being destroyed, and that they can't use mark to market and survive, and that the FED is on its last legs, then why the hell would the US not go for broke to produce energy and many other resources to backstop their currency's collapse, and to earn some foreign reserves from there?

Is that not exactly what Russia did after it collapsed?

And it was especially in US interests to do that, since China and Russia and many others have all been saying for about four years that their intent is to kill or else do away with the petrodollar printer (so ... like ... attacking the US then? ... well ... er ... yup!).

But no ... dah massive US oil production must be an insidious NWO attack on Russia, to take over dah whole werld!!!!

MMMUUUUHAHAHAHARARRARARARAARAAAAARRRRRHHH!!!

i.e. people asserting, due to mere speculation for convenient dumbass propaganda narative purposes, that the US is attacking Russia with oil over-production, are dopey ignorant useless damaged  F U C K H E A D S.

The question is not if Russia and China are upsetting the "New World Order".  It's whether that's a bad thing.

The leadership of Russia and China are as bad as our leaders here are.  But if three bad regimes are battling it out, each of them is relatively limited in their scope, allowing average people more leeway to find a way to get through the cracks.

TPTB of the US and the EU are overreaching.  They want the world to run according to their system, just one system, with a token amount of room for local expression.  This is a classic power play, just on a global scale.  It looks like they may have jumped too soon.

Ukraine is too close and too personal for Russia.

At this point anything that leads to de-centralization is a positive.  You don't have to like Russia or China to celebrate that their actions are preventing the further consolidation of global power into the hands of an aggressive group from the west who will not be satisfied until their control is unchallenged.

Once you finally grasp that the assholes running the US, EU, Russia, China, etc. are all pretty much the same then you can root for Russia or whoever to shake up that new order so one group of assholes isn't running the whole show.  That would be disasterous for all except the elitist scum running the show.

Here is the truth about Estonia.

Since Estonia was annexed from the USSR in 1991, 25% of the population, mostly young and educated people, has left it and immigrated to Europe and Russia. Salaries are low, factories are destroyed.

Eventually, a wave of Muslims will replace the Estonian population.

This is because the fomer paid for "free" land and commons created during communism, were pledged on a banker's double entry ledger.  This private banker ledger then emitted Euro credit.  The credit then cycled into the Estonian supply, and then back out to buy luxury goods or things they wanted to consume outside of their economy.

The debt instrument grew with usury, but the Euro credit was gone.   Therefore, there were no Euro's to pay the debts.  Also, debt instruments were generational.  If you cannot pay, then your children will.

The banking system is inherently predatory, and trusting Estonians got sucker punched.

So, now they have their population emigrating because they cannot make a living.  The people are being dispossessed from their lands.

Peter The Great seized the territory, known in recent times as Estonia. From Sweden He did this almost 300 years ago. I am not sure for how long prior to that the Estonians had pledged their allegience to Sweden's monarch. So, for all but 45 out of the last 300+ years, these states were part of the Russian empire and Swedish Kingdom before that.

The Estonians are all too aware that their "independence" stands only upon the assurances of other countries to treat them as independent. Twice at the River Narva -once in the early 1700s and once in 1944) the Estonians fought and won major battles against the Russians. Twice -in 1919 and again in 1991- they have declared themselves to be independent of Russia. And, because they have fought for their independence, such independence should be respected.

But, there is no logical reason for the United States to have made a military alliance with any of the Baltic States. It was done in a moment of arrogance. In a war between Est and West, these territories will serve only as trip wires and pass-throughs for advancing armies, much like the Benelux countries in the West have done.

Given their large ethnic Russian populations and given that Russia can threaten them from both East and West, they should resign from NATO and the EU, and should seek a neutral stance, much like that which was envisioned for Ukraine.

Although not officially recognized as an independent country until early 1920, the Estonians had won their war of independence in 1919 against Germans, Russians, plus various elements from other countries bordering the Baltic.

Source: Wikipedia:

Following the Bolshevik takeover of power in Russia after the October Revolution of 1917 and German victories against the Russian army, between the Russian Red Army's retreat and the arrival of advancing German troops, the Committee of Elders of the Maapäev issued the Estonian Declaration of Independence[50] in Pärnu on 23 February and in Tallinn on 24 February 1918.

After winning the Estonian War of Independence against both Soviet Russia and the German Freikorps and Baltische Landeswehr volunteers, the Tartu Peace Treaty was signed on 2 February 1920. The Republic of Estonia was recognised (de jure) by Finland on 7 July 1920, Poland on 31 December 1920, Argentina on 12 January 1921, by the Western Allies on 26 January 1921 and by India on 22 September 1921
