It is sad. Banks used to compensate depositors with a reasonable compounding intrest.

as far as I know there is no such thing as an EBT in the whole of Europe, including Switzerland
but think for a moment: this means a lot of Swiss are going to the ATM for a quick withrawal of EUR from their usually CHF accounts, perhaps for a quick shopping spree in the eurozone
meaning that for them, this FX move is something... temporary. or that they just want to have that shopping spree, and see it as a happy rebate day

Watching crowds behave has been the primary reason for all of the disaster porn I watch. Watching countless hours of all of the "revolutions", riots, and such has given me a view of who generally gets caught in the crossfire of authoritarian police and military actions. At the end of the day, I try my best to fly under the radar anymore and just control my actions as much as possible. Wandering into the gun range with crowd is a moment waiting for disaster.

erm...as their currency is Swiss Francs, I would expect a Swiss ATM to dispense them, except in the border towns where they might offer Euros as a courtesy. As far as I am aware, Euros aren't legal tender in Switzerland.
