"Russian Invasion Survival Manual" To Be Issued To Citizens In European Union

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Mac Slavo via SHTFPlan.com,

While most Americans discount the possibility of a major conflict with Russia, Europeans who have seen two great wars in the last century know better.

The country of Lithuania, much like its neighbors, is preparing for a full-out invasion by Russian forces and their government is issuing a survival manual to its citizens. Though the complete details have yet to be released, the manual, among other things, advises citizens to “keep a sound mind, don’t panic and don’t lose clear thinking.

Lithuanian Defense Minister Juozas Olekas unveiled the 100-page public information pamphlet last Tuesday at a press conference in Vilnius. The book, “How to act in extreme situations or instances of war” aims to educate the country’s citizens on what to do in the case of an invasion.

The manual instructs Lithuanians how to “act during the organization of civil resistance, but also how to act under battlefield conditions,” in addition to containing information on governmental changes following a declaration of war and procedures for evacuating a building, according to Olekas.

The book suggests demonstrations and strikes or “at least doing your job worse than usual” as means of resisting foreign occupation. It also advises citizens to use social media to organize resistance and promotes staging cyber-attacks against the enemy.

In typical government fashion, the manual seems to discount the possibility that a Russian invasion will include the horrors often associated with war, advising citizens not to worry because “gunshots just outside your window are not the end of the world.”

Of course, should gunshots erupt outside of your window as a result of a massive onslaught of tanks, armored personnel carriers and infantry, it would be, by definition, the end of the world one has come to know.

The ‘Survival Manual’ seems to focus more on peaceful demonstrations and cyber warfare, rather than the obvious, which would more than likely involve the exchange of automatic gunfire, artillery, and Russia’s famed World War II era Katyusha rocket launchers, each of which are capable of firing over one ton of ordnance in 7-10 seconds in what are dubbed saturation bombardment salvos.

But don’t panic because this is not the end of the world if it’s happening in your neighborhood.

Lithuania is not the only country concerned with an impending Russian invasion. In March of last year, shortly after the Ukrainian crisis began, Poland called up military reserve troops for the first time since World War II.

According to a report from The Week Polish military reservists are being called up by the thousands, presumably to prepare for the possibility of not just spillover, but all out military confrontation with Russia.

At least 7,000 reservists have been recalled to the colours for immediate exercises lasting between 10 and 30 days.

They’re told by the Polish authorities that the call-ups are “routine”: but the men say they haven’t been asked before and they’re well aware of the growing alarm in Warsaw at President Putin’s aggression. Three weeks ago, their Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, called a press conference to warn that “the world stands on the brink of conflict, the consequences of which are not foreseen… Not everyone in Europe is aware of this situation.”

A conflict is brewing and everyone knows it.On Wednesday Russia made two key strategic moves that show just how tense the situation has become. First, they began selling U.S. dollar reserves, effectively divorcing themselves from dollar hegemony in the region. Second, in a show of force directly aimed at E.U. leaders they cut off 60% of their gas supplies to Europe in the middle of winter.

Observing the actions of Russia, the Europeans, and the United States over the last year should make it obvious what is happening.

The world’s super powers are preparing for a global confrontation.

As RT further details,

Lithuanian Defence Minister Juozas Olekas said the project, a collaboration between the Defense Ministry and Lithuania’s Fire Brigade was prompted by “Russia’s recurring aggression against its neighbors – presently in Ukraine.”

Copies of the pamphlet are to be distributed to libraries, secondary schools and non-governmental organizations, while an online version will be available for download from the Defense Ministry’s website, Olekas said.

The Lithuanian government is also considering requiring all future buildings to include a bomb shelter.

Lithuania’s Russian minority is around 6 percent according to the country’s last census in 2011, unlike the two other Baltic enclaves, Estonia and Latvia where Russian speakers account for approximately one-quarter of the population.

Recently, President Dalia Grybauskaite, an outspoken critic of Russia, has moved to restrict the broadcast of Russian state channels in Lithuania.

The sooner Russia invades Ukraine, destroys that country's armed forces, quarantines the political class sympathetic to the west, makes of this failed state some sort of a lose confederation where ethnic Russians enjoy total autonomy, the chances of a major war in Europe are greatly diminished.

How many bombs has the Russian Military dropped outside of its own boarders versus the number of bombs dropped by the U.S. Military outside of U.S. Territory in the last 25 years or so?

And how many drone attacks have they conducted in foreign countries?

THe West has invaded Russia 4 times in the past 200 years.

Napoleanic war, Crimean war, WWI and WWII.

Russia has counter-attacked twice to rid the "world" of Napolean and Hitler.

Now we have NATO pressing up against Russia's borders.

Russia has everything it needs within its borders.  Except for a "buffer zone" from the West (see above) it has no need involve itself with foreign territory.

Exactly. Just ask the Ukies their aggressiveness against Russia is working out.

In the meantime, the whole premise is silly. There is NOTHING that the Russians want or need from Lithuania, no gas, no oil, no minerals, no strategic ports, industry or women (russian babes are hot).  The president of Lithuania is a paid USSA whore, nothing more.

Russia does not have to be a maritime power like the US and UK.

Piplines deliver gas and oil.  Trains deliver the rest.

But let's cut to the chase. Russia doesn't give a shit about the Baltic states and is not going to invite a war with the West over the Baltic states.

Excellent, Maltese.  And it’s important to differentiate historical and current Russia from the reign of the Bolsheviks, for Lenin and Stalin created a monster region which prior to WWII was the aggressor, using its Communist infiltration against Germany and other European countries.

The critical point is they were trying to foster a revolution in Germany like they had in Russia; they wanted Germany to go Communist.

And throughout the Cold War, the Soviets were everywhere around the globe attempting to widen their empire. This is not the Russia of the Czars or Putin.

America gave refuge to the Nazi's after WW2 altough all the main one's were here all ready , Henery Ford, Prescot Bush, E H Heriman, Rockafella ,et al . Then the other's came over in operation paperclip, and so set up shop. As you can see the rest of the world are starting to call "America Nazi" and for goo reason. When we loose the war , and we will the same will happen to the American people as happened to the German people after WW2 the only differance is this one will be nuclear from the begining. Unlike America droping nukes AFTER the Jap's had surrendered just for shit's and giggles .

really now, and who exactly is doing the counting and measuring here?

given "Latinos" are mostly of the "Catholic" religion-varietal, I don't doubt there will be much "child molesting" going on in the extended families, but to ignore the centuries of OTHER belief systems who practice the same atrocities - Xtian, Muslim, Hindi, ALL of them act out these same tortures - is pure ignorance.

one thing these actions across ALL religions have in common - patriarchal, father-figures who abuse their "gods-given" authority, an authority bestowed via secret sacred rituals, rather like gangs-banging.

those who cannot see through history are condemned to repeat it.

I"ve volunteered at "crisis centers" for years now, in three nationstates - child abuse and rape come in every flavour, though they do tend to have perpetrators of particular gender, not always but mostly.  human trafficking is the latest "volunteer opportunity" to arrive in some larger cities, though it's always been around, underground.  there are many traumatised women from "war torn" African nations amrkn mercenaries "work" in, their stories would have many here pissing their pants.  armed men in uni-form hunt in packs, and few get to hear their tales once they come "home". . .

Currently I mainly work with the food insecure, and those desperate for shelter.  while some of the "charity" is filtered through the "religous" - it's amrka, that's how shit works sadly - I don't mind a few hours a week amongst the believers, in the main they can be sincere - it's their "preachers" I steer clear of.

and that "brick wall"?  it's always been there, for each individual to deal with when it looms.  none of us can avoid it, nor time it.

And if military "war is diplomacy by other means", then so is economic war.

Time for Russia to front-run the Spring Offensive, with a full economic assault on the Kiev junta: When Ukes have only cake left to eat, they might revolt everywhere, and not just protest on Maidan Sq.

Let the EU taxpayers fund the Ukrainian SNAP program, till they too start marching in Berlin, Paris and Rome also. And bring out the "Yankee go home" signs.

Scortched Earth wouldn't work I think. This time whomever invaded would simply keep the land they took and hunker down for winter. Forget the jets, simple supply line tech has advanced enough to keep a large army fed and armed for a very long time.

This is of course assuming no nukes were used. If they were, it's scortched Earth everywhere and we all lose. And remember, it's the Russians that were developing a dommsday machine. They'd use nukes most likely.

Definite PSYOP. The manual is written no doubt by a group funded by the State Department under the guise of an NGO. The Baltic states have hundreds of so called NGOs. These pay high wages, in low wage countires, to local willing to work for the US state department. They organize pro US forces and issue press releases and booklets like this thying to promote conflict between the Baltics and Russia. Look at the NGO's. Many workers are CIA agents outright. Others simply take western pay for working to destabilize relations with Russia.

The Baltics are part of NATO. They are part of the EU. They are free and independent. They are deomocatic. Nobody is invading them. The idea that Russia, who already has too much land and resources and tooo few people, is going to take over EU economic baslet cases and try and occupy them, well that idea comes right out of the US STate Department. And CIA emplyes people to push it.

President Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania has spent many years in the US and is a total Neocon tool.  Whether she is completely compromised by NSA spying or she really believes in the Neocon ideology, one cannot say.

In June 2014, Grybauskaite told German news magazine Focus: "[Putin] uses nationality as a pretext to conquer territory with military means. That's exactly what Stalin and Hitler did." She also said Russia and Putin were "characterised by aggressiveness, violence, and a willingness to overstep boundaries."[26]

On 20 November 2014, Grybauskaite called the Russian Federation (quote) "...a terrorist nation that should be stopped..." (Wiki)

In any case, CIA propaganda that  Putin is a depraved "mass-murderer" is working:

Since the beginning of the week, the three most influential mass circulation newsmagazines of the United States, Britain, and Germany—Time, The Economist, and Der Spiegel—have published cover stories that combine wild accusations against Vladimir Putin with demands for a showdown with Russia.

The most striking and obvious characteristic of these cover stories is that they are virtually identical. The CIA has scripted them all. The stories employ the same insults and the same fabrications. They denounce Putin’s “web of lies.” The Russian president is portrayed as a “depraved” mass murderer.

I read the link you provided however I would be interested to know what the editorial pieces of Russian newspapers and magazines are saying. This has not been given any space at ZH.

In any case the printing of such pieces by the WEst are only meant to induce paranoia amongst the Russian leadership.

But I agree with the West that sanctions (without war) should be increased as this will surely blow up in the face of the west which stands to lose more and which has a population that does not have a recent memory of hard times like the Russians.

The bottom line is that war is the ultimate failure of the human spirit.

I have often posted here that war is the most abhorrent and insane activity known to man.

A notion, a theory, a conspiracy if you will, that started before I first visited ZH began the day I learned about PNAC. As it turns out, PNAC was merely the preamble - a declaration of intent - that now ties in together the giant machinery of the MIC, the insane ambitions of megalomaniacs, and every warmongering culture, Zionism at its centre, that wants to either escape the economic collapse with war or are under the delusion that war may kick the can a little further into the future to keep the status quo. Each day since then has brought more evidence of this notion and closer to the denouement of this deadly farce.

I find it all depressing and sad. While others appear to look with eagerness at the destruction wrought in Ukraine, I close my eyes and pray for peace. I do this as a person reluctant to fight anyone. But you would be mistaken if you think my fear of violence stems from fear for my life. I am not afraid of what others may do to me, rather I am afraid of what I might do to them.

It should not surprise anyone that these Baltic states, Lithuania, Latvia, & Estonia were ripe recruiting grounds for Hitler's SS divisions during WWII, so I expected a Victoria Numan State Dept pivot from them against Russia well before Ukraine became the basket case. Ukraine was an odd one for me but it didn't surprise the many astute people at ZH who saw the ambition of taking the only warm water port (Crimea) away from Russia and disrupting gas supplies to the EU, however the scope and zeal of Numan's insanity was surprising to me. I never thought the Zionists would try such a blatant coup.

Every time I say to myself, "No, they wouldn't be that insane", at the precipice of another American war, I am proved wrong. They really are insane, so when the alarm bells ring and the propagandists chime in, I urge anyone to get ready to lend your voice against the insanity of war. It may be your last chance for your voice to be heard.

If leadership in this World is insane, it stands to reason that war is not if war leads to the extinction of that insanity, but too often the individuals that engineer war, and enact war measures, are not the ones that are

victims of their wars. In the case of Hitler we have an insane man

that was desperate for a dirt nap. Putin is not insane, but the American Military Industrial Complex is insane, and so is the White House and Congress, frankly. We all know that George W. Bush is insane, and we all know that Dick Cheney is insane. We know that Donald Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, et cetera, ad infinitum in America are insane. Hell, America

in and of itself is insane sytemically. Look at the insane FED and the insane people that govern banks. Unfortunately, we have many super-insane politicians, bureaucrats, and flunkies at the helm today.

It is only a matter of time before war manifests in that type of environment IMHO.

Nuland and the State Department would inflict a war only if they are sure, that US soil is unaffected. But even then, why would they provoke a nuclear war? Europe and Russia as wasteland is economically "ineffectve".

They palyed their cards and Russia got fed up with the bullying. So it raised the ante with own soldiers involved in a proxy war. And now "the West" is uncertain what to do. I don't believe in WW scenarios. Self preserving mechanisms of mankind are still intact.

I understand your reasoning on the basis of Mutually Assured Destruction. You are certainly not the only intelligent person who make their arguments on the basis of this logic. Ghordius made a similar argument a few days ago to which I commented here. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-01-09/top-russian-american-and-polish...

As I said above, these monsters in power are quite insane and spoilt - like compulsive gamblers they rationalise their decisions then feel entitled to their whims. I think the risk of an all out nuclear exchange is too dangerous at any odds, so I will do what I always do at the risk of another war: Raise my voice against it. Protest in the streets if I have to. Not much I know, but I cannot sit idly by because I feel that would be tantamount to tacit consent.

And now they are making remarkably bellicose noises about Russia invading in hopes of stirring up the US. to commence WWIII.

The idiots governing Poland seem to be the only Europeans who fail to understand that if Russia and the U.S. go to war, Poland and the rest of Western Europe will be ground zero, utterly devastated while the big boys bluster and threaten each other but avoid mutual assured destruction.

One would hope that all this Eastern European sabre rattling is just for domestic consumption - an effort to shore up nationalist support for bankrupt eastern European political regimes.

But the idea that Russia would in any way volunteer to take over and support the Baltic Republics, Poland, or Ukraine is so obviously counter to Russian interests as to be laughable.

Aside from stirring up domestic nationalist and ethnic support, perhaps this delusional campaign is an effort to shake down Germany and France for more aid money by convincing them of the value of holding on to these otherwise useless NATO "allies" as a buffer zone.

The communists or the backers of communism or their decendants are the NWO like Soros who controls the US State Dept and congress.

They murdered Christian Russians and then robbed them until Putin threw them out.

This manual is what happens when a 90 year old billionaire oligarch that has already lost $5 billion to start an overthrow of a government comes up with another shit for brains NGO related stunt to "stir the pot" some moar because he doesn't know how to lose and he's too fucking old to change!

But guess what?...

He'll lose of course. And he'll use as many American and Western European bodies as fodder in a senile attempt to prove he and his friends (well some of them) at the trilateral commission/IMF U.S. military and USD is still in control like they were before 2001!
