It would be like saying getting married gets you free sex.
The worst Con Man as a President
Obama's just recruiting more members of the FSA.
Plenty of reason for a good genocide.
Just fill the printer with ink, it's easy.
So many (community) college grads (almost), yet no one to fix the toilet.
I'm long on textbooks for African Studies, Political Science, Public Administration and Video Game Design..
Just more can kicking--how best to keep a lot of 18-20 y.o. off the unemployment statistics.
I dont see why there is so much opposition to this stunt of his. I've seen it proposed plenty of times here - send kids to trade school. Thats what hes doing. It may not be deliberate but sending the less talented kids to a CC keeps them from clogging up universities, driving up the prices for all (since anyone can get a student loan), and devaluing/watering down the education for everyone else.
Id rather pay 2k to get a kid with a meaningful skillset than eat the $50k+ loan when he gets a Liberal Arts degree and has to live off the govt. Sure, in a vacuum its a bad idea, but we already have a welfare state - I see this as a lower cost option.
You do realize you can take Liberal Arts at the CC level don't you?
Anyone who would go to CC to gain a skillset is already there. They have functioned quite well, at least the one's I have seen.
This is about debt. Moar debt.
Ain't nothing more expensive than something that is free.
And think what kind of bonds that CC is gonna have to float to be able to handle another gabillion kids who can barely keep from pissing their pants in class. Adultish babysitting is what this is.
pods
So it's ok for the chosenites to print themselves gazillions for nothing, but wrong to fund education? WTF ?
I'm sorry, exactly where did you see me say that?
BTW, get a clue. They don't print $$ for themselves. They make their skim by creating currency and loaning it to everyone. Much easier to avoid being hung. They call it banking. ;)
And as for education, we have been funding that shit for decades. Called a library.
Never thought that tuition for a CC was a huge barrier for entry for anyone. And there are already myriads of ways to get money for tuition.
Maybe next we can have some smart people decide a fair price for toilet paper?
College used to be affordable. That is until the government decided that it should be affordable.
I shudder to think how much it will cost when it is free.
pods
Making it "free" will lower its quality for everybody. The FSA will value it for what they pay, namely nothing. The CC profs' salaries will depend on them passing the bumbs. Can't have too many Ds, Fs, and Ws, can we, or there must be something wrong with the TEACHER. Ever been in a class where people don't show and nothing much is expected? It brings down the best.
Anyone who think it's expensive now, just wait till it's "free."
Paraphrasing Milton Friedman - Put the government in charge of the desert, and in 5 years there will be a shortage of sand.
A) "College used to be affordable. That is until the government decided that it should be affordable."
B) "I shudder to think how much it will cost when it is free. "
That's two separate issues. The first is what happens if you have a massive subsidy on a product or service on a market
in the second case, when the subsidy becomes a single-payer system, you have what is more common in Europe, which is... less expensive
as often, it's a problem of "moar", in this case "more subsidy/credit is better then a little bit of subsidy/credit"
well, it is... until it isn't anymore. like muffins, one or two make your life better, moar and moar... increasingly less
You have missed the point completely.
Anybody who belongs in college finds a way to be there. The latest plan lowers the bar to higher education such that fogging a mirror is good enough. The cost for this is borne on the first group, in the form of (non-repayable) debt; it isn't funded at all.
This is really another bennie for the FSA.
He didn't miss any point. He launched a strawman argument ala Alinsky. Some are better at it than others. This guy is a noob.
I can see both sides of this. Yes, I agree, we all know the money is not there and anything the gov touches turns to shit, but...
My grandparents born in the late 1800's only received an 8th grade education and in those times that was adequate for the jobs available and life in general. As technology progressed society deemed 12 years of education to be the minimum standard and that is the world most of us grew up in. Today we know that just a HS education is not going to offer you many options and even a BS is the equivalent of what a HS diploma was a few generations ago... So , my point is that as the world changes the minimum amount of education required to get by rises. Is this the best way to do it? Probably not, but something needs to be done or our already stupid youth will be even more outpaced by other nations. Times change.
Times do change, but the educational system doesn't seem to keep up. They keep dumbing shit down. How about teaching the skills needed to make a living in the first 12 grades? Why must it continue to be more and longer instead of teaching shit that matters earlier?
Have you seen the shitty education that kids get these days? It really is worse. It isn't that the needs have gotten higher but that the system produces total shit. Hence, If you want a kid that can count change and read the directions, you need a CC degree.
Ah, yes, the down votes for saying the gov. Is shit and this is not the best way to go about educating our young. My point is that something needs to be done.
Obviously the devils advocate has no place at ZH any longer.
To this I must add in full disclosure: my children attend private schools, some of the best in the state where I reside. If you are sending your kids to public schools.... Good luck.
"So it's ok for the chosenites to print themselves gazillions for nothing, but wrong to fund education?"
No, it's wrong to spend what you don't have.
Deficit spending with the Fed covering it up by counterfeiting is THEFT.
Don't say "WTF", say "WTFU", Wake The Fu.k Up.
Right ON!! The CC in our area needs the revenue!!!!!
Show me the money!!!!!
Pods,
As much as I enjoy reading your comments, and thought process daily. This is one time I must step out and disagree with your assessment. Though we easily tie debt to the bricks and chains that bind us. This is not what it seems. This is about consent. What are we the people willing to surrender or comply too?
Our acquiescence is our bind. It is our inability to stand and then press forward to reverse the obscene. It is not the debt. But the inability to stand against those whom wish to imprison us. Simply by the lack of our motivation.
Debt is irrelevant when you have the upper hand on power. Debt is not the chain. Lack of motivation to lift the chains from our necks is the issue. We suffer from a mental paralysis that makes us think we are cripples. We assume we are mental and physical midgets. It's nothing we've done. It happens to be this thing called "Predictive Programming". The very thing taking place since you were entered into kindergarten.
We are told and taught what debt and leadership is supposed to be. They also dictate to us what it means to be free. We have never been told how simple it is.
The truth is we stop complying. We wake up and realize their (Controllers, Central banks, Government officials) soup of the day (Issues. Financial, political, race related, religion, living standards or sex preference) have no bearing on our individual lives.
As long as we continue to feed into their matrix, we continue to surrender that which belongs to us. And that is our lives. Stop paying tribute to their issues. Stop giving it meaning by thinking and pondering about it.
LET'S START CREATING OUR OWN DIALOGUE. AND THEN PROCEED TO LIVE BY IT.
P.S. I only contribute when I have been drinking. It is the only time my passion ignores my boundaries. Readers take note. Drinking is only bad if someone else told you it was.
Are you arguing its more economical to eat a default on a $50k govt backed loan for a useless Lib Arts degree than a $2k bill for the same degree?
I dont know how old you are but Im seeing the recession crushing the morale of kids I went to highschool with. Smart people that could easily run with many of the older folks Ive worked with in professional environments. Theyre also smart enough to see that many of their peers went to school for 4 years, got good grades and a sensible degree before coming out just as unemployed as them. It doesnt make sense to take the risk and waste the time. I believe it could have the potential to pull some of these folks off unemployment, and it doesnt take long for someone to rack up $2k of bills on the govt payroll anyway.
Dont get me wrong, in a vacuum I am vehemently opposed to this kind of welfare. But we dont live in a vacuum. We live in a world where interest rates are manipulated, the BLS lies to us about unemployment, gov regulation overrides appropriate underwriting for loans, and we offer incentives for people not to work. I see this as a relief to the taxpayer.
I would argue if you went to school to get a liberal arts degree in the first place, then you certainly deserve to have a long and entertaining career as a Starbuck's barrista.
The sick part is that some cretins here will fight harder against a $2K break on tuition to a kid who might actually make something of himself than a $20M bailout/bonus to a bankster that defrauded his clients and crashed the economy. Comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted...
I used CC to lower my cost of education (I paid for it all myself, no loans). It was great for that.
I can be cynical and say that the avg FSA person couldn't make it thru high school, let alone be able to cut it with the lowest gradient college course, i.e. Accounting, English, etc. The lowest level math class I can recall was Algebra II/Trig.
Do we have any details on this? I mean, do you get n number of units for free or what? Is it like the stupid loans where "school related" expenses, computer, rent, whatever is covered? Is it a blank check for X amount? My biggest concern is that the CC's don't have the staff or facilities for some 20% influx of new people on campus. What if you're really not making it? How do you keep some slug from using up space while failing every semester? Can't we just have Night School for the dullards?
Yo kids, may want to read the fine print on that "Free College" contract. See the part about involuntary servitude? That means you also get free ammo with your free weapon but you have to pay for the uniform and no, not all you dopes get to sit in a air conditioned drone trailer with some hot chick running a joy stick and a hot pickle.
More like how best to keep a lot of 18-20 y.o.from taking up pitch forks and torches. LOL
Free College: Because is Gumbint so inept, that 13 years of its education camps is no longer sufficient time to mind fuck your rugrats.
If pewblik education is such a great idea, why have incarceration rates generally increased as Education spending has as increased?
Jiggle the handle.
running out of ink, er, blood
It sounds good and makes people feel good. Free this and free that.
He did get re-elected, so wouldn't that actually make him a good con man?
Until he runs up on Josey.
"How does it work on stains?" ;-)
Actually, he's an excellent Con Man..
Just a terrible president.
rofl, nice top post!
It better come with free sex, sheeshh
Oh there's free sex alright. Just not exactly like you were thinking.
Picture a baseball team. You are the one squattin in front of the ump behind home plate.
pods
Pants drop /ankle grab /cheek spread 101 is now a prerequisite class for all community college degrees.
Marriage, its the reason why hookers and blow stimulate the economy.
That's what this administration has been all about, transfer of wealth from the middle class
to the poor and to the uber-rich. At this rate the middle class will be extinct in 10 years.
By then you can bet the rich won't be picking up the baton and taking care of the poor.
There will be a lot more poor because the former middle class will join their ranks.
I disagree only about the time frame. I think 10 years is far too long. I think it will happen in the 2016-2020 Presidential term.
Exactly how are the poor transferring wealth from the middle class? They sleep on park benches. They don't transfer a damn thing.
Exactly how are the poor transferring wealth from the middle class?...
They aren't. They are being manipulated by the Soro's of the current regime to believe they are being deprived of the knowledge they should rightfully be "taught" about the fraudulent activities of the Central Banker's ability to create wealth, (i.e digital cyphers and physical silken "notes" created out of thin air in exchange for future indebtedness to these selfsame entities as a result of previously paid cyphers added to the accounts of miscellaneously attributed individuals and / or their surrogates.)
Jmo.
You're funny, like the bearded lady at a carnival. Everyone is going to point and laugh at you starting...now.
Here, oh well titled one:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/majority-of-us-public-scho...
I'm sure you and I are paying for plenty of other people's babies...and we didn't even get to have fun making 'em.
The opening scene to Idiocracy pretty much says it all...and as an evolutionary dead end myself, it saddens me a little too.
"ObamaSchool" Gee-what could go wrong?!!
so the Fdre going to inflict what they did on the high schools of the US to the JV college? wonderful..... and with money comes regulation, this is going to be fun
You actually get sex when you're married?!?!
We fooled some folks.
We impoverished some folks!
We Grubered some volks, lets see if they'll fall for it again.
weeez gonna edukate sum fokes
We matriculated some folks.
i'm not matriculated, I got my AA Degree.

I think the Swiss get free college -- for as long as they make the grade. If they flunk out they're done.
Of course here there would be all kinds and favors and exceptions for the "under-priviledged".
It would be "the law".
"Free" college?
You mean the Socialist Swiss FORCE some citizens to pay for the college educations of other citizens.
Waaaa? Socialists are well known pacifists, lovers of their fellow man and da erf itself, they would never force anyone to do anything against their will!!!
They just couldn't, could they? (wimper, snivel) ;-)
Socialist vs the Parasites. One prints paper out of hn air and gives it to those who need it. The other gives it to those rich parasites that don't need it.
Ah yes, from those who did to those who didn't. How about we just get rid of the parasites rather than using them as an excuse to make more?
What did Carly Fiorina or John Donahoe actually do besides suck the life out of HP and eBay like parasites? Are they special and wonderful doers because they decided to reward themselves for gross ineptitude and outright sabotage?
"Socialists are well known pacifists"
You must be a youngster or a poop head liberal, sorry about the redundancy.
If you had lived in the United States in the 60's you would know that the socialists, leftists, commies, liberals, whatever you want to call them can be quite brutal.
Never mind Stalin, Mao Tse Tung and Pol Pot!!
You should take another look at nmewns' profile pic.
I'm fairly certain he was joking - everyone knows what a National Socialist is!
Dripping with sarcasm just doesn't do it justice.
It did leave a large puddle didn't it...lol.
It beats being forced to pay for welfare, incarceration, crime...
Those are already bottomless pit Socialist programs that aren't going away so fast
Educated people are a lot less of a drag on society and more productive than dropouts
Won't save everyone, but definitely pays better dividends in the long and short term than bankster bailouts
Coincidentally, just read a quote from Frederick Douglas
"It's easier to build strong children than repair broken men"
I agree with Frederick Douglas, but he probably said that long before the government became daddy.
You are mistaken. You can be made to pay for community college, AND welfare, incarceration, and crime. And yes, for the same people.
Douglas was a good man, way ahead of his time.
Your quote intrigued me, a variation of it "It’s better to build boys than to mend men." is a slogan of a worthy cause down in my neck of the woods.
For those so inclined ;-)
http://rbr.org/about-us/
But your assumption is that education will create productive citizens and not more highly educated mooches who fully understand how to ride the system. Free education is lesson one. Just as a constitutional scholar is educated as to how to defeat it, circumvent it, not preserve it.
No
My assumption if we're going to print a few trillion for bankers and a few trillion for welfare and a few trillion for prisons- ALL BOTTOMLESS PITS, why not INVEST a few hundred billion in something that might actually produce long term dividends
Will there be waste? Absolutely
But even a 1% return beats the other black holes
Same principle would work with right PREVENTIVE health care program. Subsidies should only be available to those who prove they know and practice a little about diet, exercise, safe sex, birth control, and drug abuse
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
If you drive a car, car)
I'll tax the street
(If you try to sit, sit)
I'll tax your seat
(If you get too cold, cold)
I'll tax the heat
(If you take a walk, walk)
I'll tax your feet
(Taxman)
And you're working for no one but me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oyu5sFzWLk8Hopefully it won't be like obamacare where you pay more for less or nothing. Corps write the laws, congressmen just vote for them. I wonder who is going to write the comm college bill, and who is going to get the money.
And if you answered community colleges and their administrators....
The stated purpose of government actions are simply a diversion creating another channel for funneling money into their "most favored" troughs.
If Obama really wanted this he would have submitted it last year when he controlled both Houses of Congress (with Reid in the Senate and cave-in Boehner in the House).
The "I'm going to get the bill" should be the unborn great grandchild of the douche bag that thinks he is going to college for free.
BTW - you get what you pay for DB.
I had two sisters who when to Queens College in NY in the sixities...free no fees.. It was the best thing that you could image.
By 1976, New York City faced a crippling financial crisis and "free" tuition for students at Queens College was revoked.
Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queens_College,_City_University_of_New_Yor...
City College was one of the great college systems in the US - thousands of people got good college educations and went on to make real contributions in business and academia.
Problems started with 'Open Admissions' - no minimum academic requirements meant anyone could go and that meant standards dropped like a rock in a vacuum.
Free - or minimal cost - education is a GOOD thing IF standards are maintained. A good part of the world has minimal cost college for citizens BUT you have to qualify. Change your mind halfway through and you're going to pay for the change. Right now we have a system that panders to those that can afford to pay - with those paying full freight subsidizing those on 'scholarship'. Bit at least there is a semblance of 'standards' - you don't get into a top school if you're a comolete dunce (well unless your parents are buying buildings).
The problem in this country is about JOBS. We've exported the jobs that once employed those with a basic education - factory and trades jobs are hard to find. Those that remain are now far more demanding - a mechanic needs to know more now than most college grads.
Providing EVERYONE with a crappy 'higher' education does nothing to solve the fundamental problem. TPTB are determined to pay as little as possible for labor - whatever that labor accomplishes. So we have sent factory and service jobs (call centers, tech support etc) overseas to cheaper labor markets while bringing in cheap labor (H1B for tech and high end, illegsal for low end) when the jobs can't be sent elsewhere. Our politicians fully support this destruction of jobs 'Free Trade' - BOTH paerties are complicit in this fundamental destruction of the US economy.
The reality is that if you are not creating or adding 'value' you are NOT creating wealth.- mining ores, smelting ore into steel or aluminum, forming metal into goods or machines... cutting down trees, making furniture... growing grain, milling flour, making bread... shearing sheep, spinning thread, weaving cloth, making clothes... THESE CREATE REAL WEALTH
All else - finance, accounting, law, government... these are OVERHEAD - COSTS THAT CONSUME WEALTH - they are parasitic in that they consume the real wealth created through production and labor.
So it doesn'rt matter how well educated people are, or how cheap things are if nobody is actually creating or adding VALUE.
How many BJs do your sisters have to give before it is no longer considered FREE?
Remember back in the day? The most popular government handout was free government cheese. Damn they were the good ole days of fiscal sanity weren't they?
My grandmother got Gummint Cheese in the 70's. Even that was a colossal waste... they gave her a five pound block every week. She gave that shit away to her kids, grandkids, neighbors, anyone who was willing to carry it out of her 5 room rent-controlled railroad flat. For 3 months it was American cheese. Somebody complained, and instead of making some basic changes to the variety of foodstuffs they just changed the cheese to Provolone. Sanity. Yeah.
Just like the Affordable care act has nothing to do with healthcare, this has nothing to do with education. It is about bread and circus politics. Only the rulers aren't paying, they're billing it to the middle class. O'fuckwad still has no clue. Absolutely unbelievable. When they say politicians are one-trick ponies, they damn sure aren't lying about this dumbass.
N'est-ce pas idiot?" ( Is that not stupid? )
Just to point out the obvious, it wasn't "good" b/c it was free. I suggest it will be worse because its free.... Grade 13; basically a high skool extension and students of at leas t1/2 time will eventually get housing, food stamps, free shildcare, etc. Gov't never just does one thing and casts it in granite - its creep.
2 year Indoctrination to become a piano tuner, you'll get the joke on part 2 of 2
Penn and Teller Bullshit - College Part 1 of 2
Penn and Teller Bullshit - College Part 2 of 2
Clearly there are too many free thinkers running amok these days. This can all be traced back to family instilled values.
We need to strip babies from their parents arms as soon as they are weaned by diktat and get them into pre-pre-kindergarten as soon as possible to get their minds right!
For the glory of da Fadderland!
More like "fodderland". What's left in YOUR wallet?
Will Junior be able to get himself out of Ma & Pa's basement and off his free i-phone/pad often enough to get to class, or will he think to himself, "hmmmm they're paying for school...now I have more money for beer and weed!"
Sure, let's dilute further the already weak sauce....
Aaaand community colleges everywhere celebrate the guaranteed income and tuition increases.
Sheople never learn.
Reagan Vs. Obama - Social Economics 101
"I'm going to get the bill....and that punk isn't even my kid!"
But it's actually worse than this. The customer of the college is no longer the student, but the Federal Government. "Hey college, you teach what we say now, we're paying". Yours truly, Gov.
Way to talk out of both sides of your mouth, Zerohedge.
Cut spending for public education, because you dont believe in a free ride for students?
Is the person who authored this familiar with the history of privatization in South America, Asia and Russia? It is a disaster for 'the people'.
Hard-line antisocialism plays into corporate interests and is fully in line with Chicago economics which has bankrupted whole tracts of the world at this point. The places on earth with highest quality of life (Denmark for example) are also places were social services lessen the gap between the rich and the poor. Redistribution of wealth via public services is an important equalizing force and its removal is disasterous. (see the history of privatization in Chile, Argentina, the ex-Soviet republics, America and Britain!).
This line of thinking is basically in line with austerity policy, neoliberalism as per Friedman, and is what corporations and big dogs everywhere have always wanted! Break labor! Destroy unions! Fire government workers! Slash educations, parks, roadway spending, government projects and infrastructure!
Even if you gain back 2 billion per year from this 'fiscal discipline' of cutting the service, its absolutely nothing compared to what money already holds out in foreign tax havens, which our tax policy will continue opting never to address; furthermore, quality of life is measurably degraded in each place where austerity measures have been implemented -- and there is no reward for balanced budgets in a fiat currency world anyway!
The knee-jerk antisocialism of American free thinkers is to me, one sure mark that we are destined to fail. We distrust the fundamental mechanism of helping the public good, which is done through government. We are anti-government to the point that only anarchistic modes of social organization are palatable to us. And that has never nor can ever work so you become preppers - a lone man with his gun, waiting for the apocalypse. Disgusting, and an epitome of self-serving cynicism. Its the low-income analog of the rich corporate executive, who is also cynically 'stacking' money and also cynically waiting for the apocalypse, hoping that a big enough account will get him and his family to safety, rest of the world be damned.
We get out of this altogether, or not at all. The efficient market hypothesis deified into antisocial 'cut-cut-cut' free marketism and privatization, is MORE intellectually bankrupt than Keynesianism! QE has MORE of a chance than austerity, even though it has no chance! And Milton Friedman / Hayek / Mises supporters can spit derision at Keynesianism, but please point to a historical example of their own policy enactments which has not proved to be a catastrophic disaster. Its not as if we haven't had enough of them.
Free 2 year College is a US GDP Gimmick.
US fed/state/local govts have spent $110 TRILLION since 1983 promising to do things 'for the greater good' (whatever the fuck that means). What it's gotten us is a police state that behaves like a scheming, psychopathic, paranoid helicopter parent that really wants to pimp us out to the local paedophiles.
Whom will benefit from this program? Banks, of course, who will extend student loans to the govt and the student. It'll just create more debt.
All aspects of education would improve if govt got completely out of the game and let free market forces work.
Did we get our money's worth yet? lol
The problem at hand is that neither version of greed works well to structure society. I've turned to sortition as the answer..."hey at least it's not crack"...or congress.
Agreed. They didn't even do anything with South America except have a cocaine binge.
And yeah, proably a good idea to get rid of slave style student loan debt (for children!) and bring bankruptcy back for student loans, loan originators are obviously the more sophisticated/educated bargainer. Do not subsidize or backstop student loans with the government. Let the market work. If banks loose too much money making bad loans, that's what bankrutcy's for...was...
I view this as a cultural issue more than a political issue. The Yankee culture of the NE US has always tried to force their philosophy on everyone else. This stems directly from their quasi-socialist "city on the hill" mentality from puritanical times. They think they know what is best for everybody. Let this union dissolve. I have nothing in common with these assholes.
You are a very confused person.
Nice try.
Is your post homework for a govt trolling degree?
Gawd what a dumbass.
You seem to think those who go out of their way to indoctrinate the minds of children while bankrupting everything around them are the best servants to all of mankind.
You will never learn and can't be taught.
Go occupy something.
The only solution for people like you is Mao Zedong's solution. If you are not familiar, it involves Lead (Pb) at high velocity.
What community college did you attend? Are you one of the <15% who graduated in two years or one of the <30% who graduated in four years. Did your degree help you advance from part time cashier to shift manager working a "full time" 32 hours per week?
This program will increase govt debt, but also student debt.
It will have strings attached--like maintaining a GPA and completing a degree within a period of time. The number of students at high risk of not completing a degree--the exceptionally stupid and lazy--will be encouraged to try because it's free. They'll not do well enough to meet the reimbursement standards, so they'll be indebted.
It's no different than low-interest, low down payment mortgages. Govt will fix the program by throwing money at it and reducing student obligation, increasing mal-investment.
It only gets worse from here.
Wonder if he'll refund the degree I paid for already out of my hard earned savings? Fucking cunt.
Why stop at Community Colleges ? How about free.... private school... free cars... free phones...oh right... ahmm.. free by the way who decides what is free, and where does the $$ come from ?
I have gone over to the "practical side" - tired of waiting for the inevitable always-immanent but never-arriving crash, so I am now VERY STRONGLY in favor of enacting every imaginable entitlement program, exploding the national debt to astronomical levels, and crashing the financial system, economy and global monetary system...
Because the sooner the corrupt ponzi scheme fails, the sooner we get Civil War v2 and can cleanse the country and rebuild clean from the constitution. Lots of purging needs to be done, sooner we get started the better.
How many extensions of 2 year college will they pay for?
Perpetual Jr college students.
I remember, when I started grad school, I walked by a playground that was on campus. There, I sat down to read a book under a tree. A little girl 12 years of age came and sat down next to me. So we talked a bit.
She told me that she had been born on the university campus, went to the university lab school, and had never lived anywhere else. I asked what her father or mother taught at the university.
"My dad is a student," she said.
He was one of those perpetual, overly-funded grad students in anthropology. Student loans and grants. That sort of thing.
All subsidized and underwritten by the taxpayer.
obama will propose a lot of things the next year or so, and most of them wont pass. he wants to sound like a democrat, make foreign policy like a neocon, and party like a global banker.
Is there ANYONE that doesn't have an entitlement that gives them the right to the fruit of eveyrone else's labor? It's just collective coveting and stealing!
Sounds great at first, until you realize that government fucks up everything it wants to help. Especially if it's Obama's idea. In a few short years, these colleges will be ghettos, dangerous, offering no value, the degree will be worthless, and costing taxpayers billions or trillions.
That cartoon is not accurate. There are only western nation-states in the NWO at this time. Western Central Banks have a combined financial system. Taxes in Germany, Australia, Japan as well as the US all pay for my FAFSA income. They print the money and in that way it comes from everyone. The money will never be paid back. We are in a World War at this time. It is financial as well as physical but mostly noticable as a financial war. The attempt by Washington D.C. to create free community college may be considered one of the financial warfare fronts that the NWO is fighting on. Like Germany in WWII continueing to advance as it was being defeated is similar to the condition the NWO is in at this time.
Get everything you can from the NWO before they implode bitchez.
So there would seem to be bigger problems than us subsidizing higher learning with tax dollars at the moment, for example: Russia is shooting the extremists we put in power in western Ukraine. We're going to needa whole lot more Nazis if history is any guide for winter wars with Russia.
NULAND!!!
More government involvement...prepare for a 50% increase in CC tuition and fees
Hey now everyone can study what makes them 'happy' and it's all free free free. How about that. Preparing myself for millions CC trained poli-scientists that know how to vote themselves $$$
One more, time with feeling.
IF YOU THINK EDUCATION IS IS EXPENSIVE, TRY IGNORANCE.
OH! YOU HAVE? AND HOW DID THAT WORK OUT FOR YOU?
... IGNORANT FUCKIKNG AMERICANS!
One more time..., with feeling.
IF YOU THINK EDUCATION IS IS EXPENSIVE, TRY IGNORANCE.
OH! YOU HAVE? AND HOW DID THAT WORK OUT FOR YOU?
... IGNORANT FUCKIKNG AMERICANS!
Since everyone graduating from four year colleges is landing a professional job, it's only logical to make community college free. How else are employers going to find quality applicants to fill the glut of job openings. Now all we have to do is raise the minimum wage to $15 so these future part time cashiers can earn a livible wage.
Total bullshit...fodder to motivate dumbasses to vote democrat.
A free and very well resarched book with interesting papers in the adendums : "the dumbing down of america". As good as T&H.

I agree that this is a GDP trick.
What is hilarious to me is that all of these inner city kids think that they'll get a college education from this, when they'll instead be offered meaningless courses, and at best, be taught what they should have learned in high school.
Lets change our national motto for the seal from "E pluribus unum" to "None of us is as dumb as all of us"
Give a man a free house and he'll bust out the windows. While a program like this would help some, there will be far more that don't take it seriously and turn the CCs into years 5-7 of highschool. The quality of the education provided at these facilities will suffer greatly.
The taxpayer is already getting fucked by much more expensive and destructive programs than free education. Unlike military spending and money printing, at least with public education people get something for it. It may be heresy on the echo chamber known as zerohedge, but everyone does better when everyone does better.
That is a good point. If the funding for this was pulled from less successful programs I think that would help a lot of people feel better about this. But thanks business as usual on the Hill, it will probably be one more new tax.
