No it's a math and science scandal, because the average American is too stupid to do 7th grade math.

If you think that's bad, you should see our local news.  All three affiliates commented that the WEIGHT of the foot ball was only two pounds less than it should be.  I kid you not.

One of the local NYC stations has a regular feature on MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR APARTMENTS and HOUSES

WTF?!?!?!?  This is NEWS?

It's like local news is now one giant advertisement or product placement.... 'cause the number of people that can actually afford these places is negligible..... are we peons supposed to simply stare in awe at what our betters can afford?

In answer to your question, YES, we are peons but I suspect the intention is to distract us from paying attention to our real neighbors who are hurting financially.

I must confess that I sometimes enjoy oggling at the opulence enjoyed by other people. I may never attain what they got but I can lead my kids towards it for themselves.  That is a good-enough aspiration for me.

Speaking of study up, if American schools were to go to a twelve month schedule as Japan does, the average high school student then would be graduating with an additional three years education, the equivalent of a BA. There is your free community and university college education and our mighty nation's restored "global competitiveness". A cheap and easy solution with teachers, students and buildings already online.

Throw in some "free universal service" for all this "free education" and we might have something here, personal responsibility, like paying it forward and back.

If you want revolution in this country, cancel the NFL or NASCAR.  Hell, a bad call with the replacement Refs in the Green Bay/Seattle game last year nearly got it going.

Wish it were true. But then the focus would be Kim Kardashion's butt, the Oscars, Bill Cosby, or..... Fill in the blank. Me, I have to explain tomorrow how I lost 15k of a friends money on a hedge for his 4M portfolio on puts on his largest holding. To protect him from all of the dislocations that are happening at a frightening pace. Because every fucking trader in the world thinks its okay that another central bank just promised to conjure up another trillion out of thin air. This is getting old.

>buying puts expecting not to lose money

what are you some kind of idiot?

if you want to hedge something at least sell the calls to match the premium you are paying for the puts, do it on a ratio if you must get close to the money and have no downside risk though you will surely lose as the market surges precipitously higher till the end of time.

Realistically though you are just being ridiculous if you are not balls to the wall long this market as there is about zero chance it will meaningfully decline in nominal terms within your lifetime.

Actually, off-road diesel is substantially cheaper than regular diesel and is only to be used for off-road work - like farming equipment.  By and large, farmers are honest, hard working folk.  That they are now stealing fuel really does indicate that things aren't so good back on the farm.

Yes it does, north of 8x the water content, which also removes lubricity. Thank the EPA.

Any farmer I have ever talked to ends up adding stuff back to the yard tanks. Makes things gel up quicker as well.

I maintain 6 standby gensets where I work, and there are two that without fail run like shit when it gets below 10 F.

It's often cheaper than having #2 fuel oil delivered for heating purposes.

Just fill up a few 5 gallon jugs, and get an offset funnel to pour it into your oil tank.

I live near a store that sells ORD.  Here, it's dyed red. If you drive a diesel, a cop can check your fuel and if he sees red fuel (even a little bit) you are guilty of not paying taxes or some other list of victimless crimes.

I use it in a tractor and a generator, but would NEVER put it in my VW.

And it should be noted that the ORD is usually more than 50¢ per gallon cheaper.

Diesel users get hosed by .gov tax regimes.  I'm not at all surprised that people are giving the tax-ers a big FU.  Would that more people would just refuse to comply. They can't arrest or SWAT everybody.

In fact, mass non-compliance would rapidly spell the end for those that seek to destroy us, one increment at a time.

"I'll have the most transparent administration in history."

"I'll stop the rise of the oceans."
