We’ve Let The Clowns Come Way Too Far
Submitted by Raul Ilargi Meijer via The Automatic Earth blog,
In Tuesday’s State of the Union, Obama said The ‘Shadow Of Crisis Has Passed’, and the one and the only thing I thought was: ‘Good, so now we can tackle the crisis itself?!’. If speeches like the SOTU Tuesday night, and the reactions to it, make anything clear, it’s that the PR guys won the fight against critical thinking. Sure, there are people for whom that shadow has passed, but a president is supposed to be there for all Americans, not just for those who finance his campaigns and those of his successors.
And for most Americans, the shadow hasn’t passed at all, and the crisis certainly hasn’t. And hollow promises to help the middle class are not going to change anything about that. It’s an elite game, and all others are left to fend for themselves. For now that remains hidden behind the veil of over 50% of Americans receiving some kind of government benefit, but that won’t last. We may have some idea of how much richer the rich are getting, and even that is a stretch, but we have much less idea of how much the poor got poorer.
And the President, of all Americans, won’t tell us, he’d rather hail his ‘achievements’ as prepared and blown out of all proportions by his spin team. His political ‘adversaries’, who play their role of ‘hating’ him only halfway convincingly, won’t call him on the spin, because they have nothing to gain from trying to blow up the newfangled American Dream.
Their message looking forward to the 2016 elections is that they would do even better, but that doesn’t sound credible with the 5% GDP growth and 5.2% unemployment numbers the White House pulls out of its top hat. They’re just as dependent on spin as Obama is, and he trumped them on it. What are they going to do? Promise 10% GDP growth?
The GOP will look to drastically cut those benefits, and they know full well that that would cut growth numbers, not raise them. 5% growth is already so far out of left field that Obama’s spin doctors have the other side cornered on US economy. They have on international politics, too.
The White House’s ludicrous stance on Russia’s involvement in Ukraine, ludicrous because none of its accusations have ever been proven over an entire year, and the sanctions that were instated because of the hollow accusations, are a hard act to follow even for John McCain and his dementing octogenarian rabble rousers who crave nothing more than for that final grand scale deadly battle in their lifetime. Can we make in nuclear plese? After them the flood.
All they could do to better Obama from here is send in American boots on the ground in the Donbass, and they know that would be the least popular decision in many decades. But domestically, economically, and internationally, it’s back to the drawing board for the Grand Old Elephants all the time, they’re always a step behind. Must be frustrating. The Obama people have played them as much as they have played the American people.
Who, as should be obvious by now, have nothing to expect from either side, since both owe allegiance not to the flag or the Founding Fathers, but to the rich getting richer who fund them, without whom they’d have to give up their power plays and -dreams. Something a certain kind of people will resist at any price. The kind that floats to the top of this kind of cesspool.
Allow money into politics and the former will end up owning the latter, no exceptions. Money won’t support candidates with a conscience, only those who’ll do anything to advance their careers, who are as pliable as and spineless as a stick of wet gum, and those are all that will be left. If anything typifies American politics, it’s moral bankruptcy. One dollar one vote. 100 million dollars, 100 million votes. And then they insist on calling that democracy, a concept promoted by the media purchased the same way the politicians are.
All you need to do is get people to believe whatever it is you got for sale. And 99.9% of people are easily fooled. That’s how you define democracy in 2015: how many people can you fool? Which is the most convincing sleight of hand?
The Europeans are well down that same road. Mario Draghi has announced over $1 trillion in QE today, and none of it will ever reach the alleged target, the real economy. He set up his QE in a ‘proportional’ way, meaning most of that trillion will go to Germany and France, not the Greeks and Italians who need it most.
Draghi will buy government bonds, but that doesn’t help Europe’s businesses. And not just because they are far more dependent on bank loans than American companies are, who issue more bonds, but because demand, and spending, is way down. That’s what it means that Europe is in deflation. It’s not falling prices, it’s that people don’t spend, and they certainly don’t borrow.
Draghi is engaging in the classic central banker’s ‘pushing on a string’, and Goldman’s former banker and present day acolyte knows it. He’s created a situation in which another $1 trillion looks acceptable, necessary even, to the majority of the eurozone politicians. Who mostly are clueless about the effects of such expenditures. But who look at the US and think it must have worked over there; who fall for Obama’s spin doctor narratives as much as the America people do.
Draghi’s $1 trillion has long been priced in, it won’t do anything for EU economies but gut them even further, and it may be completely irrelevant as soon as this Sunday when Greece may well elect a government that has vouched to blow up the deals the Troika made with the technocrats the EU itself installed in Athens.
Not a pretty picture, is it, either in Washington or in Brussels?! Well, I can guarantee you it’ll get a lot worse before it gets any better. We’ve let the clowns come too far. Way too far.

2015, year of inevitable consequences?
The illusion only works if you trust the television.
I am Chumbawamba.
They're called Clownassniffers..........and we all know what they do
Lincoln was wrong.
I guess you can fool all the people all the time...
The SOTU speech is Obama's "mission accomplished" moment. Remarkably, it is even less credible now than Bush's attempt when he did it. To claim that the crisis is behind us is a stunning negation of the poverty and dependency numbers in the US. But, as Chumbawamba points out above, as long as people believe anything the TV says, we're not at the point of change yet. When the MSM are seen for the explicit lies they are, we'll be getting somewhere.
Given the choice of the "easy out", or quick fix... over the painful, but better long term choices... People tend to migrate towards the easy out. This is the "new" american way.
They always were marketing snake oil to their citizens - during this crash it has suddenly become clear how much of it was merely snake oil (all of it).
"Unaware of what year it was, Joe wandered the streets desperate for help. But the English language had deteriorated into a hybrid of hillbilly, valleygirl, inner-city slang and various grunts. Joe was able to understand them, but when he spoke in an ordinary voice he sounded pompous and faggy to them."
Time for clownicide.
Like Mccain's economy statment.
"Our economy, I think, is still -- the fundamentals of our economy are strong." --Jacksonville, Fla., Sept. 15, 2008
He wasn't lying. Fraud, embezzelment, financial slight-of-hand, public deception- those fundamentals were clicking on all cylinders.
per O in the state of the union "the deficit has decreased 2/3rds"
my dad asked me was that true? (he loves O)
i explained that O is claiming that the rate of yearly growth of the deficit has decreased, but that the national debt is still growing at a rapid pace and stand > 18 trillion
i then further said to my dad.....we arent running a 1.5 trillion deficit....it might be half that on the books or even 2/3rds peak to trough one unspecified time period-- as the best case scenario for O propaganda
in other words...the debt is NOT 6 trillion
this is a blatant case of deception and shows really how uninformed and gullible the average joe is and what a bunch of manipulators all politicans are
Next manufactured crisis:
Free Shit Army has to file Long Form 1040 to get their ACA premium discount.
(And the IRS doesn't know how you are going to do it yet.)
They aren't fooling people because we are well into Huxley's Brave New World and the herd is more interested in Kim Kardishians fat ass than where their country is headed and these will be the people who scream the loudest and riot when things go wrong.
I don't think anybody even watched the State of the Union address, so what difference does it make?
I can't believe how well that American Sniper propaganda garbage did in the theaters. Those are the PR dudes that won the fight against critical thinking.
As for the SOTU, no one cares except for dinosaur media blohards that no one watches any more, anyways.
Everyone is talking about that liar Kyle and their flag waving bullshit.
As for Obama, he's lame-duck and over. Even with his loyal followers. It's all about 2016 now.
Although I up-voted your rhetorical statement, Pool Shark, the existence of Zero Hedge comments demonstrates that NOT all the people are fooled. However, practically speaking, it is only necessary to fool enough of the people enough of the time, which is very easy, given that the "Clowns" are the survivors of the history of the funding of the political processes, which included bribery, intimidation, as well as assassinations of those who could not otherwise be bribed or intimidated.
As the article above stated: "Allow money into politics and the former will end up owning the latter, no exceptions."
As is typical on Zero Hedge, that statement presents the problem in profoundly backward ways. Money is measurement backed by murder. It is NOT possible to stop measurement from existing. It is NOT possible to stop murder from existing. Therefore, it is NOT possible to stop money being the oxygen of political fires, or the mother's milk of politics.
The main ways that "99.9%" are fooled are that they do not understand, because they have been conditioned to not want to understand, that money is necessarily measurement backed by murder. That has enabled the best organized gangs of criminals to capture control over the powers of governments, thereby transforming governments into the biggest form of organized crime, through a monetary system which has become like a totally metastasized cancer, or a parasite which is killing its host.
The original American monetary system was supposed to be bimetallic, backed by gold and silver, whose value was set by Congress. "Money" originally meant metal. A "dollar" was a precise amount of silver. At the beginning, the American monetary system was like the Ancient Greeks, in that it provided the death penalty for anyone who debased that metallic currency. However, the international banksters were able to overthrown that system, step by step, until we now live in a Bizarro Mirror World, where everything appears proportionately backwards, or a Wonderland Matrix, where everything appears absurd.
NOW, "money" is made out of nothing as debts, by privately controlled banks, while that fraud is enforced by governments, primarily through demanding payment of taxes in that fiat, faith-based "money." The more one learns about that, the worse it gets!!! That situation could not be more backwards and absurd, EXCEPT that it can readily be understood as the result of the prolonged, persistent, application of the methods of organized crime to the political processes, which has resulted in systems where the "Clowns" are the banksters' political puppets, who are voted for by enough of the masses of muppets, who have been brainwashed to believe in bullshit by the schools and mass media.
In the Canadian context, I have specialized in working on the issue of the funding of politics for a few decades, and continue to do so now through Electoral District Associations. My conclusions are that the situation is WORSE than described in the article above, to the point where, although it is not totally true, for practical purposes the political situation IS that all the people are fooled all the time, because they are all forced to participate in fundamentally fraudulent financial accounting systems, while there are NO politically practical ways to stop that runaway criminal insanity from automatically spinning out of control ...
"If speeches like the SOTU Tuesday night, and the reactions to it, make anything clear, it’s that the PR guys won the fight against critical thinking."
The teaching of real history and critical thinking skills was targeted and attacked in American schools starting more than a century ago. Sophisticated media propaganda was brought to bear before WW I. The advent of mass t.v. in the US gave the puppet masters a powerful tool for manipulation. American children are put in front of a t.v. when little youngsters. Their parents think this is perfectly fine & normal, since they were raised the same way. And they all think it abit odd (and possibly threatening) if you say that you've canceled cable t.v. & no longer watch the 'boob tube'.
If you are rose colored glasses optimist, - I suppose you could come up with at least one positive to being the target of an EMP attack, - no more lying and moronic t.v. !
Why bother to watch/listen to the Ass/assin in Chief?
The whole game is a con to make the serfs think that their interests are somehow "represented" in Washington, in our "democratic republic". Not.
The clowns are for show, shills for hire, the people making the decisions are always completely hidden from view.
They are the trillionaires, like the Rothschilds, who own most of the banks in the world. Their purpose is to maintain the matrix, to make people believe they have a say, that their money is worth something, that they should follow orders to be "safe" from the "terrorists" that they create.
It is all for CONTROL.
Long time, no posts.
Good to see you posting Chumb
Year of pouring more gasoline on the fire. 2016, on the other hand, the wheels start coming off. 2018 is my call for the blow-up year.
Speaking of gasoline. Get a gander at this.

Nope, it will be this year. It's a Shimetah year after all:

(note: I don't agree with all the particulars in that article, but I believe the calendar is indeed very relevant)
"20 years for ... writing on the wall."
When the original "Writing on the Wall" appeared, the Medes and Persians
were already inside Babylon.
Curious twist in the story; the prophet Daniel was made Prime minister
for reading the writing, his new boss died the same night, but he
kept the job under Cyrus.
We are all fools for letting the clowns run the circus.
This is the year of the sheep so obviously there has to be a fleecing at some point.
Actually the year of the "Green Sheep" starts next month. http://www.chinesefortunecalendar.com/2015ChineseHoroscope.htm
It is really important to keep up with these things. /s
This afternoon, I have witnessed firsthand how our Belgian minister of Finance has been questioned and reprimanded in our federal parliament by virtually all political parties (including the roman catholics with whom he's supposed to be in a government coalition) because of his "outrageous" claims in a national newspaper that this QE-move of the ECB is not necessarily a good thing for savers, that the money will not necesarily arrive where it can be efficiently used to stimulate the economy and that sometimes it is better for a politician not to act instead of "doing something".
Upon which an asshole of our ecologist party told him that "doing nothing" can never be an option for a minister in office and that he should be ashamed of even suggesting such a presposterous thing.
The good news is we have a Finance minister with functioning brain cells. The bad news is the other 149 federal representatives thoroughly suck and do not have a clue.
He didn't get the playbook. Its always a strategic error for a pol to tell the truth.
Ironically, he did 'do something'. He told the truth. But that does nt count. Now he'll djust have to bend over and take his punishment. The ecotards can always suggest spending options; probably what it was all about.
My response to this argument is always, "How about stop doing evil? Isn't that doing something?"
<<< Breaking News >>>
Bozo the Boehner announced head Zion Clown to address Congress Clown Convention.
Sounds like the Boss is here to tell them how it's gonna be and to beat the ME war drums loud and clear.
Camacho don't like it.
Rock the Casbah.
That's my guess.
Yes, empires do end this way. Frustrating thing is, it's a slow grinding process, not a slam, bang get it over with quick one.
It has been grinding down longer than most realize. Think that most people in Western Rome thought that it would collapse 20 years before it did, or even 10 years before it did? I doubt it. We have been on a downward trajectory for at least 15 years, and one could argue for half a century. That gets a bit fuzzy. When it becomes readily apparent that we are in a collapse, we are nearing the endgame. Slow and grinding, yes, but punctuated with rapid and violent (could be metaphorically violent or actually violent, or both) events. Lehman was one such event. We're about due for another. At some point in time, the resilience to pick things back up after such an event simply will not exist. We could do so much better, but our clownigarchs insist on maintaining the status quo. This is pushing the lever the wrong direction, and it means that the collapse will be that much greater and that much faster. We should have accepted collapse in 2008-2009, though I would have been much less prepared for it back then.
I say we give Draghi the benefit of the doubt. He may after all prove to be in the end an even greater fool than we imagine him to be.
For 4+ years on ZH I have been saying that they are not only clowns..... but Clowns On Acid !
They have gone on long enough, to the point that Putin policies in Russia take the moral and ethical high ground compared to the rancid chesespope oligarchy running Westren Europe ad the US.
Ummm, first you have to have critical thinking.
what is at stake is not just europe and/or the usa, it is the entire western economic system. the element that intrigues me is the ignorance of history or the arrogance of themselves that lead these people to sacrifice everyone so they can keep their money and power.
yea, we willingly let them destroy our civilization. we, the people, are to blame, yet, in two years we will elect the next destroyer with millions of fools yelling usa!usa!usa!
I guess the majority of people can and will never grasp the fact that all central banks were and are set up to do the biding of the banking elite.
They have absolulty no concern for the masses, or what is right or good for them. They don't have any money, they do not have any say so in the matter. CB's and banker elites rape and pilage at will, it's not that they are above the law... they are the law!
They own the "lawmakers". Banksters look at D.C. the same way any master looks at a lackey boy.
Now more than anytime history the banksters are in the wide open, no shadows, they steal in broad daylight and threaten to crash the system if anyone dare call them on it.
They will not stop, not until the system crashes under it's own weight...and it will at some point. This bitch is getting awfully heavy!
FUBAR!
Exactly right. Your post could be summed up in one name = John Corzine.
when one lives in a bubble like DC, all is well
I wonder how the "clowns" would look after being tarred and feathered??!
and who is going to tar and feather them? you? lol!
americans are useless docile sheep. the millenials are the most ignorant generation the country has ever produced much to the delight of the ruling class. they don't even know what the reference to tar and feathering means or where it came from. the millenials will do nothing. they seem to like nazis.
You as well are useless and insignificant. Whichever country you live in, what have you accomplished to impede the trampling of your rights. Analyze our history before you spout off with machismo, the spirit of our ancestors is alive in many of us. There is a breaking point with every civilization, I for one am betting on the good guys.
"they seem to like nazis" - senseless and a statement of your presense.
why don't you shout usa!usa!usa! revolution has always been initiated by the youth of a nation. usa youth could only muster occupy, a feeble easily controlled, easily vanquished "ghandi" movement. now who would want a "ghandi" revolution(mind you ghandi did not oppose violence when neccessary)? dumbasses. violence has always been the answer to revolution, not the ballot box. are you up for it? no, and that includes the entire millenial generation(gen x is not without blame).you have been totally fucked and you sit there and take it while saying thank you and please.
the entire millenial generation is a .gov's dream of docile sheep.
define democracy in 2015: how many people can you fool?
Unfortunately that's the same way democracy has always been defined.
And I hope Raul, you were not implying other.
Look at who the people voted for. Twice. A goodly percentage being higher-educated people. People who had to 'critically think' in order to pass exams and classes in college where subjectivity and emotionally-generated responses to problem solving are Not an option nor avenue to success.
Such is the reason many of us from an earlier time - not that long ago really, were counseled by our parents to never speak of (2) issues when in the presence of guests - even family: Religion and Politics. Of course, most of us could not figure out, nor cared less of our parents admonishments on the matter - we simply feared a 'whack' upside the head for stepping out of line. Later on however - assuming we came to some reasoning capabilities along life's journey, it dawned upon us 'why' our parents were so strict regarding the two issues: They are one in the same. Hence, the suspension of reason and heretofore 'critical thinking' skills when it comes to casting one's 'beliefs' in the voting booth.
We (collectively) got what we deserved.
When people realize that by the time they get to the voting booth, they are given a choice of candidates already pre-screened through the "money race", then there is a chance for change. To suggest that a choice between McCain and Obama is really a choice is the problem. But the number of distractions aimed at the population to prevent them from seeing this remarkably simple mechanism for oligarchic control is overwhelming.
I think the oligarchs will continue to have this one sewn up for as many more years as they like until the ecosystem collapses or is destroyed in real "all-out" warfare (i.e. the self-control to avoid nuclear exchange is breached).
I think we all know that the clowns have gone too far. The question becomes how to stop them. And the name Boehner does not exist in the solution.
unfortunately for all of us, these are killer clowns
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
killer clowns from khazaria
North Korea hacked Sony

The shadow of the crisis has passed alright, and now we are viewing the real shit that comes after you see a shadow.
Maybe Barry is speaking code.
Up to now, the protocols of the "learned" elders of zion have been followed to a T. When the satanists/zionists feel the time is right, the next major economic crisis will quickly be initiated and will bring the whole global financial system to a screeching halt. They will then install their supreme leader over the one world government and have complete control over the people of the planet. Obama's SOTU address is a distraction. Obama is a distraction. He gets the perks of being president in exchange for being the scapegoat for everything that is wrong in America. I'm not sticking up for him. He is a textbook asshole. But he is not pulling the strings.
The way I see it is this - we, the people, can easily look at the evidence and determine beyond a shadow of a doubt the players and motives of people in events like the federal reserve, WWI, WWII, the JFK assassination, Iran-contra, 9/11, invasion of afghanistan and Iraq, all the way up to this latest false flag of Charlie Hebdo terror attacks. Who is going to stop them. The US military? Who do you think controls the military. Political correctness and fear of being labeled a racist or other false adjective scares people into wilfull denial.
This is all going to play out according to "the plan". We will have a one world fascist government, run by and for a small group of psychopaths who feel it is their right to rule over the unwashed masses, as they see them. Actually, we already have one world government. They are just waiting for the right time to install their supreme ruler.
So when I see these articles about Obama, central banks, war in Ukraine, my view is that the point is totally being missed. Looks at these events together and events that occurred through history. Learn who was behind them. The playbook is available to all who choose to read it.

Obama is to "Pennywise" as Netanyahu is to the "Grand Wizard" of Hell!...
Just remember boyz and girlz the capstone to the President's SOTU speech and the pronouncement that the "war on terror" will last 30 years from the pie hole of the minion that preceeded it..
Congratulations for being the 9/11 Generation that you are no questions asked!!!
Barry blew it when he duplicated the "pulling babies out of incubators" moment.
Rehearsed spontaneity?
Like living in a South American country.
Rehearsed spontaneity?
You forgot his repeated mantra use of the Kennedy moon speech "we do these things not because they are easy but because they are hard"... as a cut out for exonerating those in the military and intelligence community that tortured some folks and then in the SOTU speech doing a complete 180 about free speech and protecting against abuse!...
You have to wonder what kind of freaks would allow themselves to use those quotes more than once particularly in a SOTU!...
Must be sniffing glue or doing multiple hits of crack cocaine before they decided to use the " to the moon speech" more than once in an attempt to desensitize the American public that torture, rape and murder may be a violation of law and a bad thing at home but sometimes it's necessary in made up reasons for occupations that keeps their standard of living intact -until it' becomes Russia of course!
Volunteers anyone???
Gonna have to be one helluva convincing false flag to get the orchestra to play next time around on that one!!!
I was rooting for Pennywise (the Clown from "IT") to catch and kill "JohnBoy"
'99.9% of people easily fooled?'.
Try 9/11.
Un flipping believable.
Yanks must be the most gullible fools on the planet.
Oops!
They elected Clinton, Bush and Obama - more than once.
Average IQ must be in the 80 range.
No wonder they will vote for Hillary.
God help the rest of us.
You know what the scary, sad part of all of it is? They're not stupid. In fact, I think they're the smartest, most brilliant people on the planet. Tough luck for those in other countries who just want the same standard of living/ "dream". Guess the free shit army just decided they'd rather have a few mp3 downloads than save a hundred lives in Africa, or invest in faulty loans and stock market (more than ever) instead of creating capital and thus an economic system of efficiency. But that's really the rap, isn't it? American sovereignty over a less impoverished world. Tell me that globalism (The rest of the world having their share of capital) isn't right. Of course, you've got to take the us dollar into account, but once the hedge is blown no telling the gestapo fate the world has for the free shit army.
having been born in the USA and lived here all my life, the sad fact is Americans are stupid. Incredibly stupid. There, I said it.
It's a far cry from the average american of the 50's or 60's in terms of IQ and this is borne out in studies. Compared to the 50's, the average IQ has declined by 20 points or so. In other words, a "normal" person of today is a retard of yesteryear. This is a fact, you can look it up.
Furthermore, out of the so called "educated" population, the ones who went to college, they are probably on the average more moronic than anyone. Their heads have been filled full of fake facts, lies, misinformation and useless trivia. It took me 20 years to unlearn all the bullshit they taught me in college like the capital assets pricing model. The only thing useful came out of the math and science departments.
Blame the Zio media because the more stupid the public is, the more power the ZWO has comparatively speaking. This is the far reaching agenda, and it has been incredibly successful.
Sorry - what does the EU have to offer - name your country of choice but then explain how these geniuses turned it all over to the Belgium technocrats. I don't like our "leaders" much but if you think those EU clowns are any better - no way. Like Farage said - no one even knows who they are.
I love Farage!

Rather than watch the SOTU, I opted for a Ghost Pepper enema - it was considerably less painful than watching the SOTU garbage.....
I didn't watch it either but was hoping to hear that someone in attendence had shouted "You LIE!" every time he DID lie.
Well, it looks like Obama has successfully "turned the page on the economy," as Steve Schmidt once advised McCain to do. Now that the depression is officially over, I guess it's time for a new war.
For me, the only thing worse than actual clowns is clown art, clown pictures, paintings of clowns. The pediatrician's waiting room, when I was little, had the most hideous examples of the genre ever produced on planet earth. And after twenty or thirty minutes of staring at them in abject, nauseated terror, then it was time to go into the back room with the bright light where the nice man poked and prodded you as you writhed and squirmed to get away, to no avail, and his female assistant stuck you with needles as you screamed bloody redrum. Then she gave you a sucker. As if that helped... No. No more clown pictures, PLEASE!!! I'm hyperventilating over here...
How many klowns can you stuff in a car-b-que?
All evil clowns must die.
Good intentioned clowns, get into another line of work so you are not mistaken for an evil clown.
... a clowning achievement ...
