"Cheerful" Dutch Financier Becomes 4th ABN Amro Banker Suicide

Tyler Durden's picture

Following the deaths of 36 bankers last year, 2015 has got off to an inauspicious start with the reported suicide of Chris Van Eeghen - the 4th ABN Amro banker suicide in the last few years. As Quotenet reports, the death of Van Eghen  - the head of ABN's corporate finance and capital markets -"startled" friends and colleagues as the 42-year-old "had a great reputation" at work, came from an "illustrious family," and enjoyed national fame briefly as the boyfriend of a famous actress/model. As one colleague noted, "he was always cheerful, good mood, and apparently he had everything your heart desired. He never sat in the pit, never was down, so I was extremely surprised. I can not understand."

As Niburu details, friends and colleagues were startled by the news that Chris van Eeghen had committed suicide.

He worked in Amsterdam for ABN / AMRO in the position of "head of syndicate and corporate finance markets."

Again, there is again a familiar pattern, namely that there is no indication that Van Eeghen had plans to take his life.

Ostensibly a successful banker, coming from what was described as an illustrious family. Chris was also a familiar sight in Amsterdam's nightlife scene and enjoyed national fame as possible new boyfriend of Tatjana Simic (a famous Croatian-Dutch model, singer, actress).

"I have never expected. It was an incredibly nice cute guy, "said a neighbor from Amsterdam. In banking circles he had a good reputation.

Most believe that the suicide is not related to his work at the bank,
but a former colleague had noticed that on his Facebook recently changed
its job title to "former."

Chris leaves behind a son - who had recently been cleared of cancer.

This is the 4th ABN Amro suicide in recent years...

In December last year, missing couple, Thieu (64) [a relationship manager at ABN Amro] and Ellen (55) Leenen from Valkenswaard were found dead in their car Monday afternoon in the Bocholt-Herentals canal in Mol (Belgium). The circumstances under which the car is hit water, point to suicide, police said.

In April last year killed former ABN Amro board member Jan-Peter Schmittman even suicide.

In 2009, ABN-Amro banker and Fentener Vlissingen scion Huibert Boumeester an end to his life in London to put a bullet through his head. Cause for the suicide were missed Madoff investments, was then suggested.

"Chris leaves behind a son - who had recently been cleared of cancer."

I've been there- my oldest son survived cancer (now 6 years no evidence of disease, so it's a bit further behind me than it was for him).  Believe me, offing yourself AFTER you make it through that hell is just.... I just can't wrap my brain around that.  Killing myself would have been the thought furthest from my mind at that point.  You just want to go everywhere with them- show them everything, spend as much time with them as possible.  Why would you go through all that and off yourself AFTER you cross the finish line?

That's just WRONG.  More to this story than what's in the article, I guarantee you.

The article is lacking in detail, as is usual with these 'suicides.'  Doesn't even say how he died.  Did he commit suicide by shooting himself in the head three times?  Maybe he jumped out of a hotel room window right after ordering a four course meal to be brought up to his room, along with a hooker and some blow? Enquiring minds want to know...

Tom Hagen: When a plot against the Emperor failed... the plotters were always given a chance... to let their families keep their fortunes. Right?

Frank Pentangeli: Yeah, but only the rich guys, Tom. The little guys got knocked off and all their estates went to the Emperors. Unless they went home and killed themselves, then nothing happened. And the families... the families were taken care of.

Tom Hagen: That was a good break. A nice deal.

We here on Z/H are in the unfortunate position of investigating the suicides as they manifest and yes we all see empirical patterns to the suicides that look to be causally linked to systemic assassinations

of banksters and pseudo-bankster underlings that seem to be on lists

that are likely to be called up to testify on cases nearing trial. In many respects, we should not laugh and joke any longer about the deaths because it is too twisted once you get past the 10th or 25th bankster.

Unfortunately, there will be hundreds more bankster deaths as time passes if I read the calculus of the trajectory of lawsuits that are undoubtedly still on the burners to go at the banks. What we are witnessing is just the plelude to Bankster Hell throughout the World.

All that toxic waste is burning through the system and management of liability is being handled with extremely violent tactics that is likely to frighten the socks off of anyone that might be considering

their roll in the evidence chains that are sought by courts of law.

What we on Z/H see is that the Corporatists will take the shortest possible path to solve their liabilities and opt for covert assassination

and the cheapest possible cost. Murder Inc. knows that the entire World is witnessing the so-called suicides, but nothing systematic will lead to enough hard evidence to uncover the planned ruse to deal with bankster liability. We will ultimately only get to mock the lack of significant investigation into the systemic deaths that are causally linked to the banking sector en masse. These deaths will

undergo statistical probability assessment and some will eventually play around with the odds of winding up dead if they go into investment banking on Wall Street or The City in London. Banksters will die and we on Z/H will count them off one at a time without fail.

Bankster #40? We are looking for BANKSTER #40? Please occupy your position in the line BANKSTER #40? CALLING BANKSTER #40?

If we look at the frequency of bankster deaths we can see the pace of contracting that the banksters are engaged in. Costs would be

very high, but not high to the banksters because to them it is simply the cost of doing business at the end of the deal.

Sad. The guy probably had a mental disorder that was undiagnosed, and offed himself because he misinterpreted a situation while affected by schizophrenia. Should be referring to the DSM for at least some of these banker suicides, too many here on ZH are stuck on the conspiracy theory routine, and not enough thinking about other quite likely scenarios.

.7% of people affected with schizophrenia within their lifetime.. almost 1 percent. That is a lot of people with disordered thinking, and some suicides are inevitable. And speaking from experience, you can conceal schizophrenia for months, or even years.

Could be right but according to DSM-V questioning authority is already a mental disorder as featured on ZH lately. Serious mental disorders such as schizophrenia should not be underestimated though.

Questioning the DSM IV is no doubt considered questioning authority, so anyone with a dispute is automatically unwell. What a great book! Seriously though, there is much I completely disagree with in the small excerpts of the DSM I have studied.

No real investigations when bankers begin dying off.  Ruled as a suicide.

Banks are opaque organizations, involved in criminal schemes, controlled in a top-down totalitarian fashion. If they want to silence someone, they have all the means to do so, and it would take the form of a suicide, not a string of "accidents". All those bankers could simply have guilty cosciences, but I doubt that's the only cause.

It's rational to suspect a totalitarian state like North Korea of purging its ranks from traitors, and it's just as rational to suspect a bank of doing the same. Both are opaque, totalitarian institutions, where an elite minority pulls all the strings, i.e. an oligarchy. It's something that would be totally unsurprising.

It gets curiouser and curiouser.

Two immediate lines of investigation for the Dutch police:

- Retrieve the Facebook logs and find out the logon IP Address used to make that odd change to his personal profile "former...". This won't identify a killer (if it was not suicide) but will at least help determine if access was from one of his usual IP's and also if that IP is located in a place he had visited recently.

- Identify if any of his clients had taken a financial hit recently due to his poor judgment.

All that assumes the Dutch police have not already been instructed that it was suicide.

Yawn. Wake me up and I'll buy you a beer when the death rate of bankers reaches 100,000/year.

I just did a quick calculation based on data I found online:

Western death rate age 35-69 = 500/100,000 of population

% of population of USA & Europe working in finance = 1.56

When you crunch the numbers you get 83,000 deaths per year in finance.

What are we getting all excited about here, a few hundred of the parasites? Still a long way to go I'm afraid.

Heads up, folks.  We’re only a few months away from the debut of our new Stacker Model Rapid Fire Nail Gun, for when your losses just get too much and your last drop of hope is gone.  Take the time to prepare by pre-ordering, and don’t be fooled yet again by the now “traditional” New Year’s price rise.  After the market toys with $1350 and sniffs at $20, we all know new lows are coming.

We’ll be producing a multi-use Family Model, but also, for the many whose wives and kids have already abandoned them for better men, we’re offering a deep discount Single Use model.  Sorry, no financing available.

And for those who want to keep score, or simply rejoice in Karma’s relentless dance, lists of the destitutedly departed will be posted on Marketwatch or some other site where members know that most all of the Blood Metals carry the stench of death, mined since time began under horrendous conditions, usually by slaves, and often merely a spoil of the rape and pillage of indigenous peoples in Africa, South America and Asia, or stolen after the aggressive conquest of a sovereign state.  Evil can’t be smelted away.  The curse is eternal.

And should any of you need an epitaph, consider Melville: ye bold billows of my whole foregone life, and top this one piled comber of my death! Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering (stack); to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee. Sink all (Monster Boxes) and all (rolls) to one common pool!
