"Cheerful" Dutch Financier Becomes 4th ABN Amro Banker Suicide

Tyler Durden's picture

Following the deaths of 36 bankers last year, 2015 has got off to an inauspicious start with the reported suicide of Chris Van Eeghen - the 4th ABN Amro banker suicide in the last few years. As Quotenet reports, the death of Van Eghen  - the head of ABN's corporate finance and capital markets -"startled" friends and colleagues as the 42-year-old "had a great reputation" at work, came from an "illustrious family," and enjoyed national fame briefly as the boyfriend of a famous actress/model. As one colleague noted, "he was always cheerful, good mood, and apparently he had everything your heart desired. He never sat in the pit, never was down, so I was extremely surprised. I can not understand."

As Niburu details, friends and colleagues were startled by the news that Chris van Eeghen had committed suicide.

He worked in Amsterdam for ABN / AMRO in the position of "head of syndicate and corporate finance markets."

Again, there is again a familiar pattern, namely that there is no indication that Van Eeghen had plans to take his life.

Ostensibly a successful banker, coming from what was described as an illustrious family. Chris was also a familiar sight in Amsterdam's nightlife scene and enjoyed national fame as possible new boyfriend of Tatjana Simic (a famous Croatian-Dutch model, singer, actress).

"I have never expected. It was an incredibly nice cute guy, "said a neighbor from Amsterdam. In banking circles he had a good reputation.

Most believe that the suicide is not related to his work at the bank,
but a former colleague had noticed that on his Facebook recently changed
its job title to "former."

Chris leaves behind a son - who had recently been cleared of cancer.

This is the 4th ABN Amro suicide in recent years...

In December last year, missing couple, Thieu (64) [a relationship manager at ABN Amro] and Ellen (55) Leenen from Valkenswaard were found dead in their car Monday afternoon in the Bocholt-Herentals canal in Mol (Belgium). The circumstances under which the car is hit water, point to suicide, police said.

In April last year killed former ABN Amro board member Jan-Peter Schmittman even suicide.

In 2009, ABN-Amro banker and Fentener Vlissingen scion Huibert Boumeester an end to his life in London to put a bullet through his head. Cause for the suicide were missed Madoff investments, was then suggested.

1600 more of these and somebody may start feeling bad...

ABN-Amro is a cursed bank. Like many others.

Silky Johnson's picture

If by cursed you mean chock full of muderous blood sucking thieves, then yes, quite cursed.

TeamDepends's picture

They shivved and shanked their gold depositors who wanted to withdraw with paper promises years ago, so they have been front-running this "rehypothecation" flim flam for a while....

"Chris leaves behind a son - who had recently been cleared of cancer."

I've been there- my oldest son survived cancer (now 6 years no evidence of disease, so it's a bit further behind me than it was for him).  Believe me, offing yourself AFTER you make it through that hell is just.... I just can't wrap my brain around that.  Killing myself would have been the thought furthest from my mind at that point.  You just want to go everywhere with them- show them everything, spend as much time with them as possible.  Why would you go through all that and off yourself AFTER you cross the finish line?

That's just WRONG.  More to this story than what's in the article, I guarantee you.

'Prolly found out his girlfriend has AIDS and a penis

I had a few acquaintances shoulda been so lucky.
Ah.... maybe they'll make Beelzebub's Banker's Ball List

Mind you, I wish them no harm, but would smile at a horrible demise.  Karma for being evil people, folks.

Tyler(s). #34 was NOT a banker.

Ironically, "Eeghen" is Dutch for nail gun.

Hmmmmmm....so Tatjana Simic is single now.

So when the hell is somebody going to get on this pony? Well, if no one else will, let me start it:

Okay, not really, but at least it sounds sincere.

Maybe he unzipped Tatjana Simic's pants & a 12 inch schlong came spilling out.

SoilMyselfRotten's picture

And exactly how much did ABN bag from this mans corporate insurance policy?

SuperRay's picture

The article is lacking in detail, as is usual with these 'suicides.'  Doesn't even say how he died.  Did he commit suicide by shooting himself in the head three times?  Maybe he jumped out of a hotel room window right after ordering a four course meal to be brought up to his room, along with a hooker and some blow? Enquiring minds want to know...

cdevidal's picture

By rifle.

To the back of the head.

And then he killed his family.

And your little dog, too.

I hope that it's not a matter of the 'Chief Suicider' inadvertantly overlooking the boy.

Theosebes Goodfellow's picture

That's funny, she didn't look like a thespian in her photograph! Seriously, could you write a stranger story? Banker boy, up to his eyeballs in "corporate finance", "offs" himself whilst dating 90's B-movie dutch-Croat starlet. Who could make this shit up?

"Chris was a good kid, but he got himself mixed up with a bad crowd."

It really is J P Morgue after all.

nightwish's picture

And not a jew on that list. All goy. The tribe - Overrepresented in banking but vastly underrepresented in suiciding.

RafterManFMJ's picture

It's be swell if some insurance dude would pull the actuarial tables on these ticks and calculate just exactly how improbable all these deaths are.

NoDebt's picture

My guess is "pretty fucking improbable".

trulz4lulz's picture

You made a good point about his son getting over his bout with cancer. As a father of a couple 'lil ones, i just cant imagine how a person would kill themsleves after being faced with the possibility of losing a child. Just dont make sense. Very improbable indeed.

Buckaroo Banzai's picture

Well, unless he felt that killing himself might save his son from getting cancer again.

"Wow, imagine that. The kid beat the cancer! What are the odds. Boy it sure would be a shame if it came out of remission."

Tom Hagen: When a plot against the Emperor failed... the plotters were always given a chance... to let their families keep their fortunes. Right?

Frank Pentangeli: Yeah, but only the rich guys, Tom. The little guys got knocked off and all their estates went to the Emperors. Unless they went home and killed themselves, then nothing happened. And the families... the families were taken care of.

Tom Hagen: That was a good break. A nice deal.

Who is the beneficiary of BOLI?

We can cheer like fools, but is anyone investigating this pattern of suicides? Are the guys that may have squealed on their bosses, the ones that are being taken out?  My instinct says, yes.

Morbid's picture

its most probably the ones that are more likely to blow the whistle - those with traces of conscience are being targeted.

Usurious's picture
Usurious (not verified) Morbid Jan 24, 2015 9:48 PM

right you are...... the NSA is listening to their phone calls............

maskone909's picture

Instead of blowing the whistle maybe they should blow out some brains

nightwish's picture

The blowing of brains is happening on too low the heirarchy. These underlings should take out some of the cabal while their at it.

WarPony's picture

Nicely put nightwish and while I tend to agree with most of what MOtU says, I can't help but see that those herein who applaud the end of the life of a man with children, a man who could have possibly brought something to help bring down the master fuckers lack any compunction towards what might be called good conscience.  In other words, would those of you who celebrate and joke about this man's demise be any better than those who allegedly had him suicided?  Hypocrisise much?

We here on Z/H are in the unfortunate position of investigating the suicides as they manifest and yes we all see empirical patterns to the suicides that look to be causally linked to systemic assassinations

of banksters and pseudo-bankster underlings that seem to be on lists

that are likely to be called up to testify on cases nearing trial. In many respects, we should not laugh and joke any longer about the deaths because it is too twisted once you get past the 10th or 25th bankster.

Unfortunately, there will be hundreds more bankster deaths as time passes if I read the calculus of the trajectory of lawsuits that are undoubtedly still on the burners to go at the banks. What we are witnessing is just the plelude to Bankster Hell throughout the World.

All that toxic waste is burning through the system and management of liability is being handled with extremely violent tactics that is likely to frighten the socks off of anyone that might be considering

their roll in the evidence chains that are sought by courts of law.

What we on Z/H see is that the Corporatists will take the shortest possible path to solve their liabilities and opt for covert assassination

and the cheapest possible cost. Murder Inc. knows that the entire World is witnessing the so-called suicides, but nothing systematic will lead to enough hard evidence to uncover the planned ruse to deal with bankster liability. We will ultimately only get to mock the lack of significant investigation into the systemic deaths that are causally linked to the banking sector en masse. These deaths will

undergo statistical probability assessment and some will eventually play around with the odds of winding up dead if they go into investment banking on Wall Street or The City in London. Banksters will die and we on Z/H will count them off one at a time without fail.

Bankster #40? We are looking for BANKSTER #40? Please occupy your position in the line BANKSTER #40? CALLING BANKSTER #40?

If we look at the frequency of bankster deaths we can see the pace of contracting that the banksters are engaged in. Costs would be

very high, but not high to the banksters because to them it is simply the cost of doing business at the end of the deal.

The court system in the USSA has been inflitrated by JAG's "Judge Advocate GENERALS" all the way down to the municipal level. You are either bankrupted or ruled against no matter what the evidence, should it even get that far.

They've got it all sewn up nicely.

Up until that point, no worries.....
