hope these commie syriza fucks do something right....but I highly doubt it.  Just more scumbags that will fuck shit up and loot the place.

However...Greece does have natural resources and if they make it work for them then they could crawl out of their hole eventually if they do this right.

Greece Is Not Poor – It Actually Has Massive Uptapped Reserves Of Gold, Oil And Natural Gas

http://www.infowars.com/greece-is-not-poor-it-actually-has-massive-uptapped-reserves-of-gold-oil-and-natural-gas/

It turns out that the poster child for the European debt crisis is not actually poor at all.  In fact, the truth is that the nation of Greece is sitting on absolutely massive untapped reserves of gold, oil and natural gas.  If the Greeks were to fully exploit the natural resources that are literally right under their feet, they would no longer have any debt problems.  Fortunately, this recent economic crisis has spurred them to action and it is now being projected that Greece will be the number one gold producer in Europe by 2016.

I'm sure that most (least of all I) don't have a personal vendetta against the Greek people. On the contrary, it would be fantastic to see them progress and prosper.  However, the path that they have been on for the past 35-40 years was simply not sustainable. Finding large deposits of gold or oil would only serve as more booze for the drunk. I oppose their irresponsible behavior just as I oppose America's printing simply because of holding the reserve currency.

If large amounts of gold had been discovered and sold, they would have simply continued the party until it ran out. Even if we assume that the oil deposits could supply Europe for the next 30 years, that too would have been viewed as nothing more than an excuse to continue the party. This is wrong. It catches up to everyone and everything eventually. Instead, a responsible leader and people would be thankful for the riches they have inherited and rely on them sparingly until future discoveries and technology could fill the gap of consumption.

I am not specifically aware of the gold production you are eluding to but I hope that the recent collapse has taught them restraint and responsibility.

Hey Comte de Saint Mon Cul, you don´t get any of it.

They will try to negotiate, but the position are so far appart that it will break. Germany can not allow Greece to run gov spending in Greece, and the message of anti-austerity is very clear.

The position are very far appart, the chance that the two sides find a comprise are very small...

You guys do realize that All they will do is grow govt, initiate new confiscatory taxes on what few successful businesses are left in Greece, and IF they do leave the euro, print like crazy until they hyperinflate themselves into oblivion. Their corrupt beaurocracies will grow, promising more shit they will never deliver and more unfunded liabilities until they collapse, which will leave them begging for aid again. Don't get me wrong, this can still be a good thing in the long run, hopefully this brings about the end of the euro, ECB and EU and frees the people of Europe. Default on their bonds and break those EU TBTF banks in the process. But these dipshits are not going to fix Greece. All they are saying is more govt, when the already bloated govt they have is insolvent with no hope to grow out of it.

They aren't offering anything new, that's for sure. I'm just happy about it because if they actually implement these policies, they can break the back of all those TBTF banks that bought Greek debt under the assumption that taxpayers in the rest of Europe would be forced to give Greece the money to pay them their interest on their bonds. This could cause the EU, ECB to break up , which is a great thing for the people of Europe. Obviously the Greek socialist party isn't saying this , but I think they will accidentally bring it about on their attempts to defy centuries of history that says these policies never work. Hey, one can hope.

The Eurocrats are going to be livid about any Grexit since once that particularly tasty cornchip of freedom has been tasted it won't be long before the entire Eurobag will be gone.

Ergo...

Greece MUST now become the Jesus country... to be crucified to the max in the exit negotiations to make sure that NO OTHERS WILL FOLLOW so the Eurodream can live on.

To make things worse... the Noodlemen believe it has been supporting the same Islamic terrorists and Afghani druglords that we were supporting before we stopped whenever that was.

Yes - that's the problem.  Greece still has to form a government, replace the old cronies with the new cronies.  Meanwhile they're going to have a really, really tough time borrowing money.  It's going to get truly ugly.  If Russia loans the money - which seems quite possible - the EUR is dust in the wind.

I expect a surprise.  I don't think Spain, or particularly Italy - want to change currencies via election.  I think they'll want to do it clean, over a weekend with the same government in power before and after.  Otherwise borrowing costs explode or one becomes beholden to Russia or China.  If I'm right - the EUR will be done before 2015 is over.

Ok, ekm1: WHO supplies free energy and food to Greece, then?

Notice I did not say 'who loans them money.'

IF there is to be no transfer union of endless goods being distributed from those that have those goods/foodstuffs: where do the resources come from?

A bunch of empty bs, here are his positions when he is not campaigning:

A civil engineer by training, Tsipras joined the Young Communist Society in the late 1980s and quickly drew attention to himself as a prominent student activist.

Whilst he claims to have moderated his views somewhat since his radical student days, he is still a fierce critic of what he sees as anti-democratic neoliberal capitalism and the “powers of the oligarchy”. He believes in withdrawing from NATO, imposing a 75 per cent tax on the rich and nationalising public services (including the banking system, which he argues should be operated for the public good and not for profits). Despite criticising existing EU policies, Tsipras is not a traditional eurosceptic, and he says he wants to keep Greece in the euro whilst tearing up the bailout agreement and ending the policies of austerity which he argues have decimated society.

Haven't you yet figured out how politicians (ex: oblabla) will tell nothing but BALD-FACED LIES in order to get elected?  Just the fact that his promises do not make sense (ex: staying in the EU while refusing the banksters' austerity - HOW THE FUCK WILL HE ACCOMPLISH THAT???) - that alone should be all you need to know to confirm that this latest show of 'democracy' from Greece is nothing but more smoke and mirrors from the professional liars.

Wake up.  Real change comes when we stop trying to delegate all our responsibilities to slick con-men.

If Tsipras meant a single word of that, Brussels would have seen to it that Tsipras cool his heels in prison with the patriots of Golden Dawn. Nobody, but nobody rules in Europe without Brussels' consent, with the exception of Putin---and Putin is in power because he has no debt and enough nukes to make a bloody mess of the Fourth Reich at his convenience.

Maybe if Greece had nukes pointed at Brussels, Berlin and Frankfurt the troika might be persuaded to cut a deal not involving the continued Romanianization of Greece. As it is, any government in Athens daft enough to stand up for the Greek people against Brussels will see Athens bombed as flat as Belgrade. Nagahappen.

Do you think the common Greek understood the loans that were approved and used.  Most Americans have NO idea how much they are on the hook for and dont have a clue about who did it.  So are they to blame?  So is Brussels gonna bomb a population of people where most just tried to get a job and live?  Is China gonna bomb the US because we cannot back our Treasuries?  The politiicians are accountable.  Most people just hope to have a job and raise a family and do not get involved with Govt policy.

Making Greece and all Greeks accountable would be like saying every Nazi soldier is accountable for Hitler's orders.  Best the Creditors can do is charge previous administrations with Fraud and sentence them.  Why do you think George Bush just had a law passed making his Administration legally untouchable.

Ordinary people aren't really on the hook for government debt.

Only the guys who signed up for it.

Trouble is, as with most goverment tricks, few know this.

See 'Odious Debt' - In international law, odious debt, also known as illegitimate debt, is a legal theory that holds that the national debt incurred by a regime for purposes that do not serve the best interests of the nation, should not be enforceable. Such debts are, thus, considered by this doctrine to be personal debts of the regime that incurred them and not debts of the state. In some respects, the concept is analogous to the invalidity of contracts signed under coercion.

Who exactly is going to do the bombing of Athens?  Are you suggesting the US will take it on, as it has done in Libya and Syria.

While France and the UK were hot to bomb Libya, they mainly had to rely on the US to do it.

Even the American populace might start to wonder if the US bombs parts of western Europe.

Will someone explain to me where these socialists think they are going to find the money to "end austerity"?   It was their bloated public sector that landed them in this mess in the first place.  Okay, so they restructure their debt or even default, who is going to loan them money to start spoending on social giveaway programs?  Seriously deluded.  It would seem the only course is to leave the Euro and print a gazillion drachmas, which will lead to hyperinflation but they can dole them out to all their voters.

Greece is screwed no matter what, but this will be fun to watch.
