US Busts Alleged Russian Spy Ring In Manhattan
Federal prosecutors in New York charged three men in an alleged Russian spy ring centered in Manhattan and the Bronx, according to a Jan. 23 complaint unsealed today by the office of Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara. According to CNN's Shimon Prokupecz, Evgeny Buryakov, working with Igor Sporyshev and Victor Podobnyy, was trying to recruit NYC residents as intelligence sources for the Russian Federation.

Gotta check out Hannibal. Best show I've seen in years. Thought provoking. Beautifully shot and scored. Actors killing it in every scene. It appears that Igor Sporyshev and Victor Podobnyy were working as official Russian trade representative or at the UN under official cover and thus enjoyed diplomatic immunity, apparently both have left the US, while Evgeny Buryakov was under SVD (old KGB) deep cover, “illegal” at that Russian bank in NYC, It is also know as NOC or non official cover, most CIA officers work under official state department cover called official cover, like that American with the yellow wig, Ryan Christopher Fogle arrested in Moscow in May 2013.. He was not arrested because he had diplomatic immunity and was thus expelled from Russaia.
Buryakov was similar to the CIA officer Valerie Plame who was working under Non Official cover until she was exposed
