Tim Cook likes cock
How much of that iCash is sitting in Euro denom bank accounts or in Euro sovereign debt "earning" negative interest?
And yet I pay more taxes than Crapplle
This is the only stock I laud. I know this seems apostate speech from a ZHer, but I've always been a Mac guy and I've always appreciated a well-built-virus-free-fast-running computer product.
Oh, and they pay a dividend with their $600 billion cash surplus. Not bad if you're playing the stock game. Even at $115 a share, it's still a steal if you want a winner.
Putting honesty ahead of popularity... I actually like Apple. At least they make stuff (well design stuff that they pay others to make).
Far more honourable than any of the millions of financial firms which exist purely to hoodwink people with elaborate mathematics and Ponzi risk taking.
Not a fan of Apples foray into personal privacy though. But still I like them a lot more than Goldman, JPM, the government, and reeks of other folks who produce absolutely zilch.
LOL "they pay others to make", you do know APPLE has SUICIDE nets installed at its major factories to stop the workers jumping out of the windows and rooftops? haha honourable ffs!!!
Apple makes me sick. Like most of the list above.
Foxconn has suicide nets. You see, there is a difference because they are different fucking companies.
Why do you only come out of your mud hut when something bad about Apple gets mentioned? Go back to Tim Cook's cock, fool.
Yes, they're different (fucking) companies but Apple subcontracts Foxconn to make iPhone components ...

""LOL "they pay others to make", you do know APPLE has SUICIDE nets installed at its major factories to stop the workers jumping out of the windows and rooftops? ""
Wow, they really do think of all kinds of unique features dont they! Clever stuff. I bet the crappy Google factories have no such feature.
Fuck Apple ! I never liked their uber-expensive crap...One exception: Apple II. That was truly a revolutionary product, and for that thing alone the two Steve's deserved to become Gods. Sure, they are wildly successful now , but their success became the perfect symbol of what's wrong with our times...
It's marketing. Watch the old Apple ads on YouTube. They are about the "enlightened" ones buying Apple, the unwashed buying the competition (Windows). Is it a decent product - yes. Is it groundbreaking - no. My Macbook Pros crash regularly. My Windows PCs never crash. Marketing: "Buy a Mac or you are one of the stoopid ones." It works.
Yeah, it's elitist crap ! Nowaday everybody feels like he IS part of the "elite".... even those surviving on food stamps (especially those...).
Apple has done a nice job driving down labor costs. The only added material cost is netting surrounding the workplace.
I heard if you want to leap into a new career, choose FoxConn
Yes, IBM, we would like to buy you.
Okay, how would you like to structure this buyout?
Do you take checks?
-Apple
LOL
+100
I wanna hear the magic words "It just vaporized."
I'm thinking Corzine would be perfect for the part.
If APPLE came out the a wall clock sized computer that you worn on a chain like Flavor-Flav. It's mind numb followers would camp on the sidewalk for a month to get one.
Gotta hand it to them they know their sheep.
Wait. They're what? Where can I get one?
Baaaahhhhh
So get up get, get get down
Apple is a joke in yo town
What can you say...? There's a season for everything.
I thought they are borrowing money to buy stock and pay dividends
No, that's everyone else. They borrow from Apple.
:)
pods
They are. All the cool kids are doing it.
The fact that Amazon which operates at a 0.2% margin and is hit by massive losses is still in this list if bad... that banks are also still in it is weird and the only one who does fit the list is a writer of fairy tales with happy endings for 10 bucks... Disney...
Had some solid moves higher in some names.
I'd laugh if after this Apple report equities still got hammered.
"P/e's can contract"
Fed should stay the course. This whole "patience" thing strikes me as a bad idea...but we'll see.
This is bullish for the other 482 companies to catch up !
Fuck Apple...
and the US is STILL doomed...
How many video adds can zh handle before the server blowsup? On a lighter snort, I've never seen an apple computer, phone anything apple in anything other than the movies. Maybe the product placement jews in hollybull should charge apple more. Surprised they cant smell all that "cash".
Notice Apple isn't buying anything?
No, they have been buying app companies and apps. Quite a few of them. They aren't buying major competitors, correct.
Bingo. If they thought the other guys were worth buying (NFLX, TSLA, all the other rumors), they'd have done it by now.
That settles it: AAPL should just buy Disney, for crying out loud, and create an edgy new animated feature in which a baby deer uses an iWatch to oversee a growing crystal meth empire, monitoring inventory, contact lists etc., to be called “Breaking Bambi.”
Or the Reality TV hit Desperate Wives of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Speaking of Bambi: Where the fuck is the i-app to prevent our four legged friends from being smashed and maimed by motor vehicles? Where the fuck is that i-app??
AMZN's no help either, with bad sorting and poor selection in the Kindle Lending Library, deer Prime members have no incentive to stay indoors.
Tick an option on the Volvo S60 configurator and forget the iCrap.
That cash wont be safe long. Source of bail in money after the next bank collapse. Which offshore accounts in what country?
We cash strapped some folks.
"You simply don't understand! It just does what I want!! I want a computer that does what I want!!!"
Every Simple Apple Idiot since 1996
You say that like it's a bad thing.
I'd rather have a computer that does what I want than a computer that does what Microsoft (and every virus-spreading script kiddie on the planet) wants. But to each his own.
Maybe they can pay those FoxTron employees a half decent wage and working conditions so they don't have to suicide themselves like 70 did a couple of years ago.
I-Shit is a good name for Apple.
Fucking overpriced toys.
At .38 margins, the sheeple have poured almost half a trillion USD to the makers of those over-priced fashion-statement-tracking devices.
Apple has More cash than Uncle Sam
http://www.advisorperspectives.com/dshort/commentaries/Federal-Governmen...
The ominous trend of US Oligarchy corporate power is heading ever more to a small club of companies that will control finance, distribution, media, teletransmission/Internet and Energy.
We are talking about the control of a 30T world market capitalization by a few companies. Less than 10.
How can DEMOCRAcy resist to such a juggernaut?
The only empires than can resist it will be rival despotic constructs like China or Russia. Our western dream ends.
Reggie?
What's cool is we will all be able to call each other and say goodbye before the robots terminate our life plans.
So Apple now has more cash than Russia?
They make two main products, which most everyone who wants one, has 2-3 of already. Is there no limit to the number produced and sold? just like there is no limit to Fed money creation? "Apple announces one-billion units sold in the quarter, breaks all records!" Is this all real? Gotta wonder…
I work for Apple as an iPad Quality Engineer. We watch every step of the process and beat the Chinese to the ground to make it right. They push back and we shove it right back in their face.
Are you on the factory floor?
Getting overall high yield is not an easy task. Weeding out all faulty components along the way requires rigorous testing. There's individual component tests before assembly, but things may go wack at the system level during assembly. More testing. Skip any single step and your overall yield just got slapped.
Of course, when you have slaves, anything is easy.
with that cash, why not buy a major chunk of INTEL?
They need the chips for their own PC/Laptop line, they could use
capacity and design skills for low power, low cost chips for the portables...
If they bought say 40% of INTC, would they have a decent cash generator?
What does the success of this company tell about the human species and the thesis democracies are built on?
We like nice, shiny toys?
Not sure what it has to do with democracy, except in the voting-with-your-wallet sense.
