I went to a state university in WA and graduated in 1984. My tuition was $206 a quarter, $618 a year for the first couple of years and then went up slightly from there. My student loans for my entire time in college was around $4K. Payments were something like $50 or $100 a month. Had them paid off in a few years. It was cheap to go to school.
The situation today is FUBAR.
I graduated in 2001, and it was nothing like it is today. My loans were paid off in a few years, too. Not sure what my kids are gonna do. I think I might paint them up in blackface and have them apply for every minority scholarship.

I'm all in favor of the General's position for the Air Force to get rid of A-10s, I think they should give them all to the Army, who should have had them from the getgo. The 1st Cavalry did well back in the day because we had our own organic close air support. Seems pilots co-operate much better when they're sleeping in the next tent to the grunts they're supporting.
