John McCain Threatens Anti-Kissinger Protesters With Arrest, Calls Them "Low-Life Scum"

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

He’s a thug, and a crook, and a liar, and a pseudo-intellectual and a murderer. Ok? Those things are factually verifiable.

– From the late Christopher Hitchens’ outstanding interview: Christopher Hitchens’ Polemic Against Henry Kissinger

Crazy John McCain is at it again. Nothing gets this guy more riled up than American plebs questioning status quo war criminals. I suspect much of this anger is rooted in his own legitimate fear about how history will remember his own legacy of remarkable stupidity.

Truly remarkable to see a Senator become so easily unhinged when protesters show up to condemn Henry Kissinger. See for yourself:

This is a little embarrassing for you, but you've got the wrong amendment. The free speech one is the one that has words like "or the right of the people peaceably to assemble", which is not what was happening in this case by anyone's definition. Free speech doesn't give citizens the flexibility to say what they want at any time and in any place. It is pretty common for this to be taken completely out of context, although perhaps it is a little more rare to confuse it with the 2nd amendment, which it appears you have done. You've also added quotes regarding someone's mention of a "Govt. Official", which doesn't appear in the comment you're replying to - I think you've gotten lost on the internets.

As an example of how this particular amendment is frequently taken out of context, some people have taken the "shall not prohibit the free exercise of religion" bit (I'm paraphrasing for focus, see full quote below) to mean that one cannot exercise religious beliefs at a school, which is perposterous and the opposite of the amendments intentions.

For your reference, this is the complete text:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

Best of luck with your spreading of freedom and liberty for all.

Reminds me of the movie Shining Through where Michael Douglas is disgusted with a war protester and forces him to leave. The movie depicted it as a patriotic move.

III

110th CONGRESS

2d Session

S. RES. 511

IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES

April 10, 2008

(for herself, Mr. Leahy, Mr. Obama, Mr. Coburn, Mrs. Clinton, and Mr. Webb) submitted the following resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

April 24, 2008

Reported by , without amendment

April 30, 2008

Considered and agreed to

RESOLUTION

Recognizing that John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen.

Whereas the Constitution of the United States requires that, to be eligible for the Office of the President, a person must be a natural born Citizen of the United States;

Whereas the term natural born Citizen, as that term appears in Article II, Section 1, is not defined in the Constitution of the United States;

Whereas there is no evidence of the intention of the Framers or any Congress to limit the constitutional rights of children born to Americans serving in the military nor to prevent those children from serving as their country’s President;

Whereas such limitations would be inconsistent with the purpose and intent of the natural born Citizen clause of the Constitution of the United States, as evidenced by the First Congress's own statute defining the term natural born Citizen;

Whereas the well-being of all citizens of the United States is preserved and enhanced by the men and women who are assigned to serve our country outside of our national borders;

Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President; and

Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936: Now, therefore, be it

That John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born Citizen under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States.

I always visualize that old film clip of the Italians hoisting Mussolini and his wife up there on the lamp post during moments such as this when politicians flex their tyranny.

Special request for WB7: Can you do an illustration of that scene with Obama's head on Il Duce' and McCain's on his wife?

That would be awesome enough to frame.

I'd like to hear how the citizens of Arizona feel about this fella that represents their state.

Do they endorse his behaviors or condem them?

If McCain had been a Texas senator and displayed this  lack of dignity, I would certainly vote YES in a recall election. Ad its not just his buffoonery, its his governance. This guy is a danger.

Just sayin.

As a career military (US Army), both enlisted and officer, with two (third upcoming) deployments, it pains me to see Generals, Admirals, etal advocating for more conflict.  I understand it is our calling, but, as the ones who have to enact Strategic policy at the Tactical level, I could respect them more if one or two had actually thrown their rank on the table when obama was calling for our light-speed withdrawal back in 2009.

I can only conclude that many (to include McCain who at times appears senile or at least not "with it") have ulterior motives. Whether it's a promotion, an honorary position on some BoD of a major corporation or something more nefarious I can only speculate.

But the idiocy of former soldiers calling for MORE involvement world-wide seemingly smacks of a prisoner calling for harsher penalties for crimes.

Then again, Code Pink and their kind are the same mental-midgets who protested the war standing outside Ft. Bragg in 2001.

Aside from his hereditary lack of accountability, which makes a complete joke out of the military values he claims to represent, you gotta follow the money with the neocons. Arizona is loaded with big defense contractors. To quote Smedley Butler: "War is a racket." Follow the money. Strategy comes secondarily, as does everything else. In fact, the bigger a fiasco the 'war' is, the more it will grind on, generating income statement billions.

USS Liberty

"On June 6, the Joint Chiefs sent Admiral McCain, father of the senator from Arizona, an urgent message instructing him to move the Liberty out of the war zone to a position at least 100 miles off the Gaza Coast. McCain never forwarded the message to the ship."

Like father, like son.

In a recent column, Charley Reese describes just how mean-spirited and petty this campaign became. "When a small town in Wisconsin decided to name its library in honor of the USS Liberty crewmen, a campaign claiming it was anti-Semitic was launched," writes Reese. "And when the town went ahead, the U.S. government ordered no Navy personnel to attend, and sent no messages. This little library was the first, and at the time the only, memorial to the men who died on the Liberty."

The ussa fascist government is/has been a very sick puppy and most u.s citizens, other than cute little ribbons on a bumper, don't know and/or don't care.

Edit: 34 US sailors were dead and 174 injured, many seriously. As the wounded were being evacuated, an officer with the Office of Naval Intelligence instructed the men not to talk about their ordeal with the press.

Hold on, guys, Kissinger is no pseudo intellectual and if you study history carefully, you will find that in fact we did not get in to WWIII in the 20th century partly because he understood and applied the concept of balance of power. An example? When he threatened and cut the Russians from entering Egypt/Sinai in the 1973 crisis. Yes, it was him who prevented the balkanization of the Sinai.

Kissinger is another Niccolo Macchiavelli, and just as misunderstood as Niccolo was and still is. But I will be intellectually honest with you. The root of all this misunderstanding lies in that for most Austrians and particularly the anarcocapitalists, entrepreneurship and free trade is a natural feature of human beings, while the search for power is not. Hence, politics is an abomination and state is conceived as the encarnation of the devil. But this is wrong, because just as it is natural in us to be entrepreneurs, we are also naturally inclined to look for and exercise power on to others. And Nicoolo and Henry simply studied this phenomenon scientifically, deductively, both in and out of their respective administrations.

+1 for entertainment value, dude.

Yes, Kissinger is smart enough, for what he is.  Compare and contrast to anything and everybody in the Obamanation, I'll take Kissinger every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

... wait, actually, maybe that's too strong.  I'll take Kissinger four days a week and play golf the other three, yeah, that's more like it, I suppose he's still too interventionist, but I never have read his new book, not sure where he is now, though hearing him talk about it was still pretty positive.

The protest signs were wrong; they should have read “Arrest John McCain for Protecting a War Criminal.”

A war criminal charge is not in doubt; Kissinger is known worldwide as a war criminal. It’s John McCain, who in his promotion, who should be arrested.

At least Kissinger was not wearing the uniform of a U.S. Navy pilot when he committed his crimes.

This is what Americans got when they swallowed the insane doctrine of internationalism –  and use their lives and hard-earned income to back the U.S. tax-supported military-industrial-banking complex. What’s the cost in billions of the tanks, ships, guns, trucks, subs, bombs, ammunition, uniforms, shoes, body bags, and coffins to support Kissinger’s Fed wars around the world? All paid to the bankers and the arms makers.

But one psychopath has to protect the others... which is why all presidents are protected by those that follow in their footsteps.... which is why all the nations DAs jumped to DC to protest that Iowa case against the local DA for framing the suspect in the investigation phase, not the trial phase in which the prosecuters are already given immunity from responsibility, same as the pharma companies, military, bankers, airlines, schools, police, et al...
