ISIS Burns Alive Jordanian Hostage Pilot; Offers Gold Reward For Death Of More Coalition Pilots

Moments ago ISIS released a video showing a Jordanian pilot captured by the Islamic State extremist group being burned to death.  According to AP, which could not confirm tha authenticity of the video, the clip was released on militant websites and bore the logo of the extremist group's al-Furqan media service. The 20-minute-long video "featured the slick production and graphics used in previous videos released by the group."

As AP further report, Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh, 26, fell into the hands of the militants on December 24 when his Jordanian F-16 crashed near Raqqa, Syria, the de facto capital of the group's self-styled caliphate. He was the first pilot from the U.S.-led coalition to be captured.

Al-Kaeasbeh gained prominence in the past week when Jordan offered to exchange an al-Qaeda captive, Sajida al-Rishawi, for the fallen pilot, an exchange which was scuttled for unknown reasons in the last minute, and led to the death of not only the second Japanese hostage held by ISIS but the Joradian pilot as well.

The Islamic State had first demanded $200 million then the release of the abovementioned al-Rishawi, an al-Qaeda captive who is imprisoned in Iran, in exchange for the release of journalist Kenji Goto, and security expert Haruna Yukawa.

As AP reminds us, "following militant demands, Jordan's government had said it was willing to trade Sajida al-Rishawi, an al-Qaida prisoner, for the pilot, but that it wanted proof of life first. Al-Rishawi faces death in Jordan for her role in a 2005 hotel attack that killed 60 people."

However, as Jordan Times reports, the pilot had allegedly died on January 3 with his death only being reported on now, which explains why the prisoner exchange could not take place.

RT adds that the video "appears to have been a carefully staged production, shot from several angles, and sound tracked with religious hymns. It shows al-Kasasbeh being led out into a square in front of a squadron of masked men, before being placed in a cage. A rope lying outside the cage is then lit up, and the hostage is engulfed in flames. The execution is in contrast with the customary beheadings, practiced by the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS)."

Finally, as Conflict News adds, ISIS is now offering a 100 gold dinar reward for the downing of every coalition pilot involved in the air campaign.

Well, the way I see it is this...there are several responses. One is to do the obvious, and "send in the troops!". This is, I believe, the hoped-for response by certain folks, and may even have been deliberately set up to get that kind of a response...Mind you, this does NOT denigrate the poor pilot, who is just as dead no matter WHAT happened.

This would be the perfect distraction from 'other issues', a tried and true method of getting increasingly angry sheeple of all nations running in the desired direction.

There is another response...We can, in concert with other nations, shut down the ISIS video websites, drone the shit out of the areas where they are based, and send in small teams to do targeted missions...none of which make for great headlines because such things would have to be done quietly.

This would probably be much more effective at actually SOLVING the problem, but wouldn't serve as a suitable distraction. It would also require us to team up with the Iranians, which Israel and our MIC will never allow.

So they'll send in YOUR sons and daughters, with much fanfare and flag-waving...so that when they come back without their arms and legs they can spend 10 years fighting with the VA over their medical needs, and the next 20 fighting with taxpayers and politicians over their "bloated pensions"...
