Yanis Varoufakis Sums Up Europe In One Sentence
This just about sums it all up...
"A clueless political personnel, in denial of the systemic nature of the crisis, is pursuing policies akin to carpet-bombing the economy of proud European nations in order to save them."

and thus the King of Kings would have thrown both the Troika and Greece out
And he also said 'Love thy neighbor' and did not qualify who the neighbor should be, what religion or faith the neighbor believed in, how rich or poor the neighbor was, what color the neighbor may be, whether the neighbor was educated or not and so on.
The problem in this world is we tend to love money, power over others and stuff more than neighbor. It is one planet we live on and share.
To all those out there claiming to be 'Christian' and supporting invasions, CIA, torture, enslavement....
Would Jesus have condoned or done that?
No.
Jesus expert, why don't you tell us where Jesus condemned the Romans who were occupying and protecting and brutally slaughtering all enemies at the time, bro.
I find a couple of nice compliments about how servile the soldiers were, and rendering unto Rome what Rome demands. No condemnation at all.
If wielding an army and protecting trade routes and partners and territories was so bad, why didn't he condemn it?
I'm no Jesus expert and find some of what he says true.
On the other hand the religions and others have edited and compromised those works to suit some purpose or it appears that way to me. When the soldier had his ear cut off, Jesus supposedly glued it back on. It doesn't go with the flow of Jesus's character he would condone murder or torture.
And he was pretty consistent criticizing pharisees, hypocrites and scribes and we see plenty of those in DC and Wall Street.
Don't say or do anything until Jesus gets back.....
"ignorance is bliss" in the comment section
on this post? i'm sure it is just an extension
of the same old saw that was developed in other
earlier circumstance, become a chronic state of
disposition and mind.
.
the trolls supply the same message they have
delivered throughout history, if you dare to
speak the truth you will have no support from
our ranks when the authorities that be come to
crucify you for exposing the systemic crimes,
lies, falsehoods and injustice.
.
the trolls being the very beneficiaries of the
sacrifice of those they condemn. it makes you wonder
why anyone would even bother with our-their likes
or being in this world? oh, what a slope of slippage.
slippery .....and them that play such slopes ......
.
peace is the answer to all the questions, then let
the rest be.
.
oh? so it is just geopolitical funny business and
fallout from an ongoing pipeline plot crafted to
screw and supply europe and the financiers?

Declare the election to be a "coup" and start shipping free military hardware to Greece's neighbors.
like happened in ukraine but by the
voting public rather than by a violent
nazi, cia, western and imperialist
coup. what happened to the investigation
of the fatal crash and burn of flight
mh17 memory hole?
He is right. Here they are destroying the nations in the Americas as well. To me it doesn't seem like a coordinated effort but one of massive lawlessness. The rats have control of too much money and have chewed a hole in the side of the ship. Going down bitchez.
not coordinated? think again.
THIS! ^^^ said the blindman...
if he can see it, why cant people with eyes not?
Fiscal decadence.
fiscal decadence has nothing even close
on monetary decadence. decadence is not
a strong enough term, perhaps omnipotence?
Whatever the bankers want to happen from this point on is what will happen....short of war.
O W.
the Bankers are Rats . . Long Live Greece . .
If EU so clueless how come Greece is the beggar going trying to extort a handout?
What an arrogant stupid piece of shit., YahooFakAss and is Boss is going to get a bullet in the head if they dont wake the fuck up. The military wont sit still to see all their nation undone by a couple of neo-communists.
"If EU so clueless how come Greece is the beggar going trying to extort a handout?"
You have it backwards. It is the EU that is demanding that Greece accept a bailout.
but but they spent and borrowed too much money? and and and EU are asshats for lending it to them in the first place.
both parties are ignoramouses!
one can't defend either, so why bother?
They were not the party in power in 2010 when Greece was loaned new money to pay for previous debt. Syriza opposed that bailout.
http://syriza.net.gr/index.php/en/pressroom/253-open-letter-to-the-germa...
Indeed, so what are his solutions, from the wordy diatribe all i saw was let them breathe, balanced budget and reforms...what he lacks in this is details.
Syriza may well have been against the loans, etc, but what is their plan in details? that is sorely lacking.
I believe, if I am not mistaken, that Veroufakis is in Syriza's coalition partner - Independent Greeks? - or maybe I'm wrong. But the coalition's stance is for the troika to take a haircut because, regardless of their economic policies, Greeks just don't have the dough.
so, i was correct then above, yes...does it really matter who is in charge now? nope
I'm sure Syriza is embarassed that while in the process of establishing a new government and simultaneously negotiating with multiple EU bigwigs that want to continue raping their country, they haven't been able to find the time to seek you out and advise you of all the details of their plans, details that the media are never likely to have any interest in covering in a coherent way. No doubt they will try to do better in future.
Of course it is just possible they think those plans should not be the concern of anyone except the Greek populace and maybe during a period of negotiations where they cannot trust anyone, they might actually believe sharing some of those details would be used to the disadvantage of Greece.
Hope you have better luck getting details of meaningful plans out of Obama and the US Congress.
LOL, you damned right buddy, and don't forget it either! Bama can KMA, just like you.
EDIT: BTW, Greece raped themselves, EU is taking sloppy seconds, so what is your fruitless point again?
Beautiful reply
he sure looks like kennedy in some pose..execpt that hole in his back... so similateries...
oh yummy, this is really starting to get interesting! When does the bombing start?
A joke people, sheesh...
When was the last time a president in this country try to get rid of the Banking criminals.. GOD BLESS John f Kennedy
Isn't George H Bush connected to the slaying of JFK? Thought so.
Proof please? Other than he lead the CIA...you may want to take a glancing look at LBJ's motives, he didn't want to go to jail for obstruction, and he would become President. You leave out soooo much my dear...
Yes. They are clueless in the same way that a pack of wolves are clueless. Fun to say though.
Slimy cowards and various species of human pet place the blame for this on shadowy bankers, whereas if the blame and solution were properly assigned, a virtuous people first of all wouldn't have demanded gimmiedats and if suddenly awakened to reality, they would burn down their respective governments for stealing the wealth of their nation to fund vote pandering programs. The profligacy would all cease tomorrow.
It is a closed loop; larcenous sheep (Feral denizens) want something for free and politicians fulfill the greed of the larcenous sheep. Obamacare is the best, most recent illustration. The Soviets had the same system, it matters not whether an election was conducted or not when ignorant larcenous proles (Proletarians) are the victims that need to be "helped." The sheep are by definition too greedy and obtuse to first realize, and then to care about the consequences.
Every single western gov't has employed a modified soviet/fascist model of political economy. Let them all eat cake.
Gata say this guy is one of the most interesting characters to show up on the political theatrical stage in sometime. Kinda like Jesse Ventura's surprise victory as governor of Minnesota.
No Yanis, they are just doing it to further enslave the European people.
Lazy intellect and demogouges always reach for or create simple causes and solutions.
Socialism won worldwide, hands down. I have little need to root for the socialists (In whatever name used) arguing with socialists. Were the Greeks saying that henceforth their gov't would become a virtual pissant as the economic engine (blood sucker) of the nation, default would be righteous. It is the only way to create wealth and allow for self determination.
Yanis is Presidential Timber: If he doesn't sell out, it will be "TIMBER!" for the presidential leaders of the Eeee Uuuu and USSA countries, and their financial co-conspirators.
How the Greek keep puffing themselves up with grandiosity. They are nothing but a deadbeat debtor, but instead are philosophizing on the objective fact of the impossibility to pay up.
Fact: The Greek state spent that money, ie gave it to its population. So the direct beneficiaries were the population (through holding jobs that got paid with that money). That all those euros eventually wound up in the hands of their Oligarchs or were spent importing goods is irrelevant. How is that not the Greek state and the Greek people's fault? They allow the Oligarchs, they allowed the account deficit over decades. "Well we didn't know it wasn't paid for", ignorance is not an excuse.
'not a yahoo'
are you sure?
not a yahoo:"They allow the Oligarchs, they allowed the account deficit over decades. "Well we didn't know it wasn't paid for", ignorance is not an excuse."
bit harsh, perhaps if fiat loans printed out of air had a basis in reality, and owned and profit of same given to select few elite wealthy, lies and lenders lies based on a lie that debt was legal.
I cannot blame the ave greek for what EU selected banks and leadership signed on to..that they got some crumbs off the masters table is missing the issue.
what most here on ZH understand (newbies or trolls excepted) is corzine style crime is on a world wide scale directed by transnational elite run banks and NGO's like BIS and IMF. One cannot blame simple everyday folks for the rape of nations..the blame lies with elites corrupt pols and institutions.
and forced fed lies & limited information by MSM is what the ave person has to make judgements that is not ignorance that is brain washing so no we do not blame the ave person in any bankster run country.
now fuck off.
Yanis should fear for his life.
Pulling another of murderess Hillary's 'fosterizations', or an accidently on purpose death, will be so flagrantly obvious - there will be worldwide pushback.
He is a good candidate for suicide by nail gun. Fourteen 3/8" dia 4" long concrete penetrating nails in the back of the head sounds about right.
I was not paying attention all the past years ...
Does anyone remember these noble, virtuous Greeks rising up, overthrowing the government that was borrowing HUNDRED S OF BILLIONS of Euros and spending it all on hyper-bloated government and freebie programs ????
OR
Do they rise up & overthrow the government ONLY when they have to pay back the loans ???
Exactly. Mob rule.
You have to like this guy. I don't care which party he is with. He is the first politician that I can remember walking the talk. He sees the problem accurately, he talks about it frankly, and follows a course of action that might actually solve the problem.
And as far as being a commie. I think that he joined the only party that had a chance of winning and also had an idea of how to repair the destruction left behind by all of the careepoliticiansan
'He joined the only party...'
Just like Ron Paul running as a Rep.
Perhaps the EU has a plan to make an example of Greece and break them. Force a Grexit, make sure the bank run wipes the Greeks out completely, and then Ze Germans and Le Frogs offer a fiscal union deal that will make Greek depositors whole again. It becomes an offer that the Greeks, and the rest of Europe, cannot refuse. Fiscal union or bust.
Europe is not the world. Greece ---via the BRICS and their roughly 140+ associate nations--- merely has to turn east, as it already is, to shake off its debt slavery to the Western elite.
Yanis knows this, of course. Greece holds all the trump cards which, in the final analysis, are all comprised entirely of nothing but awareness itself. Consciousness is key.
Utterly delusional. You talk as though the Chinese are or will be liberators.
You talk as if there is no one else but Chinese.
Do you have even the smallest notion of how well funded the new BRICS development bank is?
There's a whole new world waiting to be born, just as soon as the Anglo-Western Empire of debt slavery, war and chaos collapses. The Greeks, although not quite as quick to wake up as the Icelanders, are nevertheless acting as pointmen for sudden global change.
Puny amount, last I read about 80 billion in committments. And which BRICS are financially stable?
The EU, as dictatorial as it is in effect, doesn't wish for Greece to bust or leave the EU. The system is already on very shaky ground. Bust or exit would roil the markets and as others have pointed out, potentially cause a cascading series of defaults. Every signatory to the Maastrict (sp) Treaty promised to maintain certain debt to gdp, gov't expenditures ect. that the Greeks in particular, and others (PIGS) have steered from those benchmarks. The EU loaned or guaranteed 350 billion dollars in loans to the Greek gov't in exchange for a re-commitment to achieve those benchmarks. It's not like the Treaty of Versailles where Germany was paying huge reparations to the victors. No, it's their treaty obligations to balance their local (national) political considerations of gov't/public spending/debt creation with agreed upon standards as a economic union. The Greeks want the benefits of the union and to continue their extreme profligacy even by EU standards.
......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...... ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
Yes, conspiracy is so much more fun to concoct and perform intellectual masturbation.
"promised to maintain certain debt to gdp, gov't expenditures ect. that the Greeks in particular, and others (PIGS) have steered from those benchmarks. "
so has every other EU gubment
There seems to be only one way to go - the exit. Reminds me of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
"I can't swim."
"Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill you."
....and then they jumped anyway :,)
Le Hague.. phone call on line ONE from Messrs Tsirpas and Varoufakis
Only question is which law firm will represent Greece's complaint against the conspirators who saddled this small nation with a mountain of debt.
Who was complicit and who enabled the conspirators?
This is possibly the biggest lawsuit in the history of financial lawsuits.
Take the shysters to court and blow up this debt and derivative casino and the global ponzi shitshow!
Expose to the world and to every fucking idiot how retarded the monetary system is and how deeply a small group of parasites has entrenched itself into the flesh of the global productive class to allow itself the eternal paycheque without ever lifting a finger.
Yes, bankster class and banking families I am looking at you and it is time you get your just deserts.
Haha. Everyone knows the Hague is a bankster kangaroo court where they stage show trials against those who piss them off. Ask the Serbians.
Worth a try. At least it would create a buzz and get attention around the world. Greeks could sue their old governments and see what sticks and how far the conspiracy story goes.
Problem is the media and the propaganda are tightly controlled by the cabal as well. There is no "justice" unless it suits the cabal. End of story.
Unfortunately it will have to come to a head-on-head with the cabal. Maybe it can start in Greece. It would take years and years to rid the Greeks and ultimately all of us from the shackles of the shylocks.
Fun fact:
''The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers,''
~Shakespeare via Dick the Butcher, Henry VI
Funny thing is Draghi was a hot shot at Goldman Sachs when the forex derivative cloak was created to allow Greece to become part of the European Monetary Union. The new standard garb for these clowns should not be a suit and tie but an orange gitmo jump suit
And something else that doesn't sit right: The initial bailout was about saving the banking system from the Greeks. Well who were the idiots lending all that money? Mainly banks from Greece itself, Spain, and Italy, ie the PIIGS. Those countries were huge beneficiaries of the bailout, because otherwise their own population would have had to bail out/in their banks. Note that Greece again mainly profited: they got to keep most of the money they borrowed, in the form of bank deposits that have now been drawn down mostly for safekeeping, and would have all disappeared if they hadn't been bailed out. So 1. Greece borrows money, agreeing to pay it back of course 2. Greece violates that agreement (default), then again contractually promises to pay back now about 25% less, snf keeps all the borrowed money that wound up in their bank deposits, in return for not wreaking havoc 3. Greece again violates their latest agreement, by effectively defaulting again (or soon).
I know there was hardship and unemployment during the last years in Greece, but they didn't solve any of their own problems. Hopefully the new government will finally take care of their own problems, after screwing over a lot of countries again.
You clearly don't understand the nature of the monetary system at work here. No taxpayer money from any country was ever "loaned" to the Greeks. All "loans" in a fiat money system, whether generated to create a home mortgage or a national infrastructure, are the very devices used to create that money. This is what fractional reserve lending is all about, and this is why and how bankers have become the richest and most powerful people on the planet. I hope you didn't think all that power is simply due to collecting interest...
All the money supposedly "owed" by the Greeks is money that was created out of thin air by the ultra wealthy and powerful at no expense or effort whatsoever. This is the astounding nature of this ponzi-scheme and scam that the ordinary person has so much difficulty wrapping their head around. The banking system does a hocus-pocus shell game with paper certificates, swapping "bonds" for "currency" --and voila! -- someone better start working and come up with some real wealth, like food or oil, to pay their "debt" or else get called a deadbeat and/or threatened with violence.
It's all an empty facade and the Greeks are finally calling the bankers bluff.
Where's the problem of proud nation that voted in government that took loan for them?
The EU strategy is the same as the payday loan company.
Don't recognize bad debt and just keep lending them more money.
In the short term the balance sheets look good.
In the long term the ponzi scheme collapses.
for some, idiocy is a way of life;
good luck with it.
Syriza were initially anti-Euro but the people like it and you need to get voted in.
The people want:
1) The Euro
2) an end to austerity
Syriza are showing they are trying, but in the end they will go back to the people and say, you have a choice:
1) The Euro
OR
2) an end to austerity
The people choose what you wanted in the first place and now you have their backing.
This is a dickhead amateur who, while refusing to face the reality of the country’s corrupted system, is spewing his own faeces all over the place hoping to convince people that his country is being victimized.
is there evidence to back that assertion or simply a bowel movement ?
You're wrong by 180 degrees.
>> ... to face the reality of the country’s corrupted system <<
is his main objective
That's precisely how you always spot a paid troll. Their postings are always 180 degrees opposite to the spirit and intent of every article on the site.
If you truly believe in a fairytale there is a single finance minister in the world who has a clean soul and is not on the paycheck of G&S, then I guess you just must have landed on this planet. And if I may add, I guess that previous comment you were referring to as a 'troll', has nothing to do with your suspicion, but simply with the situation 'as is'. People are just sick of listening of newly elected morons who promise they will make things better, just to make things worse in less than 12 months. It's always been that way and it will always be that way.
The second EU coup d'etat of Greece is just days away then.
God, I love this man!
I saw the BBC interview that was linked on ZH a few days ago. He was impressive.
Greece will be the first Uruppean client of the new BRICS Bank alternative to the IMF BIS SDR toilet paper replacement for the €urodollah toilet paper "currency". The BrUSsel$ politburo of NSA pedophiles will be shrieking like plucked and stuffed black swans.
Ouzo and vodka, straight.
One more time for the cheap seats:
NOBODY LEAVES THE FOURTH REICH ALIVE.
If Syriza tries, NATO WILL carpet-bomb everything of value rather than let Putin anywhere near it. If the banksters can't have Greece, they'll make damn sure nobody else will.
Forgiving Greece's debt is too expensive, but there'll be plenty of money for another Balkan war. You'll see.
'Our Shitty Situation' http://vimeo.com/118945174
he was a "valve economist" before ...
inflated the item pool of dota2 ^^
by creating too much items!
prices crashed ...
Varoufakis was believing the old adage if I borrow $1M, I got problems. If I borrow $10 Billion, you got problems. He thought he had a good hand. Turns out he was four cards short of a broken straight. A default will be hard on lenders, but appeasing Greece will mean appeasing Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Ireland.
It's time to bail in. Transfer all euro accounts to shares in Bad Greece Corp, which will then go bankrupt.
Global failure of centralism. New balls please.
At the end of the day, Greece will be standing. Starving and bloodied perhaps and possibly with Golden Dawn in power. But the ECB will be gone, perhaps with its upper echelon administrators in concetration camps.
What I don't understand is why the Greeks, who have already decided they won't repay, don't continue taking in loans until they are kicked out?
The new Greek finance minister is going to make a lot of EU officials look like they just got out of kindergarten!
Of course. Here's your sign...
Yeah, now here's some yet another fucking smart moron sheeple believes he will lead them to prosperity. That's why he gave an interview from Texas via Skype one day after election in Greece. WTF? F**ing pathetic crypto jew, that's what he is.
