A Personal Note from Brian Williams
In the midst of a career spent covering and consuming news, it has become painfully apparent to me that I am presently too much a part of the news, due to my actions.
As Managing Editor of NBC Nightly News, I have decided to take myself off of my daily broadcast for the next several days, and Lester Holt has kindly agreed to sit in for me to allow us to adequately deal with this issue.
Upon my return, I will continue my career-long effort to be worthy of the trust of those who place their trust in us.

In an attempt to reclaim credibility, NBC plans to change the name of their nightly news broadcast to "Story Hour with Brian Williams"
Former White House senior adviser David Axelrod is joining NBC News and MSNBC as a senior political analyst, according to the Washington Post.
Axelrod, who was President Barack Obama’s chief strategist in 2008, left Washington in early 2011 to begin preparations for Obama’s 2012 reelection bid.
Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has also joined NBC News and MSNBC, making his debut as a political contributor the night of the State of the Union address.
Few can argue that there is a television network more “friendly” to Barack Obama, or more invested in his electoral success.
NBC was owned by General Electric during the 2008 presidential election before selling controlling interest to Comcast in 2011, while maintaining 49% ownership — Comcast recently announced that it will buy GE’s remaining stock ahead of the previously agreed upon schedule.
After Obama’s election in 2008, the White House loosened eligibility requirements, making GE Capital, the financial services division of GE, eligible for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).
A move that was described as “powerful and helpful” to the company by CEO Jeffrey Immelt, reported the Washington Post. While the company did not accept any money from TARP, it did use the FDIC’s Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program.
Also, in January 2011, Obama named Immelt as the chair of the White House’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.
While discussing the economy with Charlie Rose, Immelt recently said, “Really, the one thing that actually works, you know, state run communism may not be your cup of tea but their government works.”
That is, if you are not among the estimated 85-100 million killed by Communist regimes in the 20th century.
All in all, the relationship between NBC and Obama could be setting the table for a very troublesome future in this country where television networks and politicians collude to achieve mutually desired outcomes.

Can understand Brian Williams is gonna get canned. But why not Dr. Nancy Schniederman too? What she did was 100x worse than Willams IMO. I guess it helps to have powerful friends who go to the same synagogue as you do.
