Is it just me or does it seem the market has lost its way?

When you remove the QE drug and suddenly the market is lifeless........

Market has not lost its way.  It is precisely following the dictates of the Banksters and the Algo's.

If anything it's too strong, lots of money fleeing the Eurozone and NIRP to come here.

Dow is too far above 200ma.

That's OK though, if it continues it will allow the Fed to make a tiny rate increase in June.

Fed wants low (but slightly higher than last year, on the advice of ZH) volatility, with a small bullish trend in equities.  The thing is any increase in rates, short or long, is going to pull even MORE money from Euro and force the long rates right back down again.  So yield curve flattens, scaring some financiers.

Should be fun.

Because Jobs are typically a trailing indicator, not a leading indicator.  We are headed to recession and the market is trying to figure out if receission or QE will dictate direction.

We may not get a true 'crash' you know. They probably have enough ammo to halt or slow any serious downward moves.

What we COULD get is a relentless downward trend, where we go up, down, all around, and yet always end up significantly lower over time. With the up moves in between being weaker and weaker.

We could be looking at a Dow at half its current levels in a few years, and wonder, "How'd THAT happen?".

One call feel the heat slowly turning up in the macro situation - both political and econ.  Ever more desperate maneuvers to fund / debase / debt-load across the world.  NIRP now no longer a shocking violation of currency norms.  Oil falling on its face (and the repercussions only just beginning).  Hard to imagine there isn't a major war that springs out of this decay.

All anyone has to see in nearly every chart over the last 20 years is that the S&P is oversold by double compared to nearly every other metric.

Parse it any way you want and keep buying the dip, but it will break by half and at a time when nobody expects it.

It's fun to feel wealthy just in the same way you feel great when you were the only one to cal and hit l a "hard eight" at the craps table.

An hour latter you are looking for bus money back to loser-ville.

If you are running the fake market enjoy the high times.  Every other account is a Muppet waiting for its stuffing to be replaced.
