The sanctions work both ways in that Russia is one of Europes biggest trading partners and providers of energy and other materials. If they keep the sanctions up, coupled with a Greek exit, the European recession is going to start looking like a depression. Barry saying he'll help the Ukraine really means he wants to hold Angie's feet to the fire. If he escalates the war she started, she can't ever lift the sanctions.

What's Uncle Sam's resonse to this? Let's give the Ukrainians a loan to keep this war going. Let's send them weapons to keep it all going longer. The U.S. Is throwing gas on the fire on this one. Everyone thinks it's to punish the Russians but it hurts the Europeans as well. Merkel is pissed at us cause she knows how we're going out of our way to keep her tied down in the Ukraine.

He told them they didn't need them because the USA would protect them.
