"Isolated" Russia Agrees Free-Trade Zone & Military Cooperation With Egypt

Tyler Durden's picture

It appears, while Washington continues to proclaim they have single-handedly 'isolated' Russia and crushed its economy, nations around the world continue to want to do business with Putin and his nation...

  • *SISI: RUSSIA, EGYPT AGREE ON FREE TRADE ZONE W/ EURASIAN UNION
  • *SISI STRESSES IMPORTANCE OF MILITARY COOPERATION W/ RUSSIA

Judging by the images of welcome on the streets of Cairo, the people of Egypt are anything but looking to 'isolate' Russia... even after the US "bailed them out" and they still have US-taxpayer-backed guaranteed bonds.

  • *EGYPT'S SISI THANKS PUTIN FOR SUPPORT IN TOUGH TIMES
  • *RUSSIAN DIRECT INVESTMENT FUND, EGYPT TO DEVELOP INVESTMENT
  • *SISI: RUSSIA, EGYPT SIGN AGREEMENT ON NUCLEAR POWER PROJECTS
  • *SISI: EGYPT, RUSSIA COOPERATION ON GLOBAL ISSUES IS IMPORTANT
  • *SISI :RUSSIA, EGYPT WILL TAKE COMMON STAND AGAINST TERRORISM

As The Telegraph reports,

The Russian president gives one of the most famous guns during his visit to Cairo where he has received a hero's welcome in state-run media.

Vladimir Putin presented Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Egypt’s president, with a Kalashnikov rifle on Tuesday, one photo-opportunity among many on a two-day visit to Cairo.

Photographs show Mr Sisi smiling proudly as his Russian counterpart pulls the rifle from its case. The Kalashnikov, one of the most famous guns in the world, is estimated to kill around a quarter of a million people every year.

Its Russian manufacturers have recently embarked on a high profile rebranding of the rifle, marketing it as a weapon of peace.

The Russian president has received an effusive welcome to the Egyptian capital, a sign that Mr Sisi’s government is keen to showcase the alliance as evidence that Egypt is not beholden to the west.

Here's another good slogan: "The gun of choice for married bachelors."

OT. There's a US military outpost in the Sinai, about 50 klicks from the Israeli border. It's about 100 m2, fenced in with a couple of barracks, with a basketball court.

I remember thinking as I drove by in a taxi WTF?

Won't be long before the USA has no friends other than their fascist brothers in the UK.  Europe is going to join the Eurasian trade zone - one by one.  Germany will be the big one, once Merkel is gone - a tool of the USA/UK fascists.

those of us who haven't bought the panic have known this for a long time.

Don't forget the make believe polar bear story

or the willful fudging of the temperatures,

or the willful extrapolation of the rising temperatures - ain't no hockey stick crap.

or the willful alarmist propaganda.

Clearly it works though.  look at all the self loathing buffoons in a panic.  it's the end of the world!  pandemonium.  mankind is evil!  We're all gonna die!

So the temperature data in Brazil's next door neighbor, Paraguay was fudged higher and there is no drought in Brazil. I guess they smell bad because they "don't want to shower and the dams can't produce power because of low water levels.

deja vu all over again:

"Nasser's neutralist policies during the Cold War led to tense relations with Western powers, which withdrew funding for the planned Aswan Dam. Nasser's retaliatory move to nationalize the Suez Canal Company in 1956 was acclaimed within Egypt and the Arab world. Consequently the United Kingdom and France occupied the Suez Canal zone, while Israel invaded the Sinai Peninsula. The three allies withdrew amid international pressure, boosting Nasser's political standing significantly. From then on, Nasser's popularity in the region grew substantially and calls for pan-Arab unity under his leadership increased, culminating with the formation of the United Arab Republic with Syria (1958–1961)."

Think those announcements have already been made and are set in cement!  If anybody has the readings on the "atomic clock" I believe we have less than 45 days towards Russia's abandonment of SWIFT then watch the rest of the poker players leave the "Casino" with some new ones that will surprise us.

Good point indeed, but one has to understand Belarus is in dire straits with their own currency and the vital point here is that the trade with Russia makes up a huge portion of their budget so they are hit rather badly with those currency rates... and the decisions being made by Lukashenko are rather haphazard to put it mildly... he's very afraid of some sort of "maidan" in Minsk so he's trying to tread carefully... he's doing an amazing balancing act, lol
