After Conducting Navy Drills In East Mediterranean, Russia Puts Airborne Troops In Volgograd On Alert
While the latest Ukraine "ceasefire" is all but dead following such headlines as:
- Kiev security forces open fire on DPR, LPR republics’ positions - Basurin
- Fighting Strains Ukraine Truce; Russia Criticizes EU Blacklist
- Battle rages for town where Ukraine rebels reject ceasefire
... perhaps a better question is what just what is Russia doing in the East Mediterranean (as in close by to both Greece and Cyprus) where as Interfax reported earlier, the Russian navy conducted tests. Bloomberg adds that the "Russian Navy vessels fire artillery rounds at sea, air training targets as part of tests in eastern part of Mediterranean, Interfax reports, citing statement by Defense Ministry."
This happens hours after Interfax also reported that the Russian Air Force conducted a practice bombing drill in the south of Russia, in which about 10 airplanes took part.
And finally, moments ago, Interfax (and Bloomberg) made it a trifecta when it reported that
- RUSSIA PUTS AIRBORNE TROOPS ON ALERT IN VOLGOGRAD REGION: IFX
- ASSAULT LANDING UNIT OF AIRBORNE TROOPS ALERTED IN VOLGOGRAD REGION
As a reminder, Volgograd is about 150 miles east of Ukraine.
As a further reminder, over the weekend German Der Spiegel warned, citing former Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov "Now the threat of a war is higher than during the Cold War." Perhaps events such as these further escalating into an out of control cascade is precisely what he was referring to.

Is it just me, or does this look like a photoshoot prop, instead of a real corpse? If the person was the victim of a shelling, I'm assuming that other things would have been damaged as well. This just looks like a dummy staged in the middle of a park, somewhere, all alone. Weird.
Small mine fragments do not necessarily rip off extremities, or tear apart the torso, so that guts spill out. Also, a person can get hit by debris, if a nearby building is hit by a mine.
Elderly people can die of heart attack in situations where lots of adrenaline is involved, such as fear for your life due to shelling.

None of this should be news, as all credible militaries across the world us alerts to test readiness of their forces. You might be having an average weekend routine with the duty section on base, or onboard, and within an instant you are told to fall in in half an hour fully equipped and ready to go wherever orders dictate. But in this crazy Western Media World view, all nations can use drills and exercises to test and train. But Russia is threatening the world if it does a simple military exercise. The lies are so deep and fake news the media pumps out is like projectile vomet!

Just watching Channel 4 news tonight and their reporter in Donetsk gets invited by the seperatists to the airport to show him that the Ukes are shelling and thereby breaking the ceasefire agreed on in Minsk. Both him and the anchor claim they couldnt tell who was shelling, that it might be a propaganda stunt by the rebels!! I try not to watch MSM news at all but if I stumble upon reporting like this it makes my blood boil. Can you imagine the reverse scenario if the rebels were doing the shelling. There'd be no doubt at all in the minds of these fuckwits who was the perp.
