Typical ZH, looking at the short term. Where's the 100 year chart?
Yes, typical ZH... but i bet things will go even worse - too 1800...
"Japanese imports (collapsed 9% YoY) and exports (soared 17% YoY)"
So should that not result in an improvement in the trade defecit??
First "With seasonal adjustments"
Second " it is negative" not raise or fall
Third " its YOY" -year to year, it's mean collapsed to previous year, there aren't any numbers..
The 100 years chart is irrelevant. Modern Japan is postwar Japan, i.e. ever since it has adopted the US monetary theory and policy.

how many is the longest USA streak?
They are turning USA, USA, USA.......
I think last surplus month was March 1992. Last year something like 1981-82.
Fuck no man..
You have trade def and govt deficit mixed up. The US hasn't had a positive trade balance since the Ford administartion. I am dead serious.
That figure must not include the export of war and war related derrivatives like death and suffering. Surely it doesn't include the export of debt and inflation.... What else DOES the US export? Do jobs count?
The UK haven't had a 'positive' deficit in 31 years, 1983/4 was last one!
I thougt a trade deficit is when imports exceed exports, just the reverse.

Must be the new world order working.
In 1954 Japan was re-building from a nuclear nightmare and a wave of destruction.... wait now.... history does rhyme...
Trade deficit means other countries import goods and services for japanese toiletpaper right? Why is that a bad thing again?
Its hard to believe that this is physically or mathematically possible. Tic tic tic
I sure hope the Chinese are over the Manchurian "incident."
For the sake of the Japanese.
The banksters need to repay us.
and that's with a halving of the oil price?
wtf!!!
i think the japan bug just found its windshield.
now what happens if it sells its 2 trillion in treasuries to fund its trade deficit?
never mind though, as long as the BoJ can print quadrillions of worthless yen and buy equities in the US and Europe that stand some chance of paying dividends, Japan can't lose!
it doesn't matter if the people living in Japan have a natural half life of a sigma bonded pair of electrons (and....its gone!) ..its my grandma and your grandma sitting round the fire, my grandma said to your grandma gonna print our currency higher......errr lower...errr..ok..we will move it in any direction that keeps central bankers in a job that makes them relevant to other maggots feeding on the carcass of a failed financial system
:) just saying
The Japanese will resort to cannibalism before they sell any UST's.
Whatever experiment the CIA did with the Japanese after the war was a good one.
