What Happens When A Traditional Muslim Goes For A Walk In Milan
An Egyptian student living in Milan, who walked around the city for five hours dressed as an imam, has released a video showing how he was insulted along the way. Dressed in an imam’s robe and carrying a copy of the Koran, Hamdy Mahisen made the video below, published by La Repubblica, as part of a social experiment to see how tolerant people in Milan are of Muslims. Along the way, he attracted odd stares and insults such as "Taliban shit!". One onlooker said, "Shit, have you seen the Isis?" while another remarked, "Imagine if he has a gun under his tunic".

If the Imams from prominent Muslim communities took to the Western airways condemning radical Islam, many non-Muslims in the West might have a kinder view of Islam. However, to date, no renown Muslim leader has repeatedly called out to radical Islamic factions and basically said "you don't represent Islam and we condemn you and your actions". I'm not Christian, but I'm sure that the Pope would condemn a group of Christians marching out 40 Islamic men and beheading same. Where is all the Islamic indignation?

Hi guys - first full disclosure. I happen to be a traditional muslim. I am also a Caucasian American living in Saudi. I typically dress in jeans and tee-shirt, so locals see me as a western non-muslim. Saudis here have always treated me well. Your charachterizations of the people here are wrong.
American values have always stressed freedom of religion and respect for others. Islam as practiced by myself and the majority of muslims is not an ugly religion. They are good people. Yes ISIS and Al Qaeda deserve your comments, and what they get. But what you are doing here - generalizing to all Muslims - is wrong.
Visit a Mosque, or read Khalid Abu El Fadls book Wrestling Islam from the extremists, and you will see that what I say is true. I realize that takes time and effort, but you know The first result of the actions and opinions you espouse will hurt Muslims. But the second result will be that it will turn our country into a hateful ignorant place. That is not our tradition. Think about it.
