NATO has to "coordinate" multiple, logistics, linguistics, deployment and command teams for each "venture" they may take.

It is clearly a clusterfuck compared to a unified Russian model.

Good luck with that, "American sniper".

I, too, would like to grab Siberia. Not sure why, but I would.

My enthusiasm for grabbing Siberia uninvited is dampened somewhat by the knowlege that the current owners can place one of these on my doorstep:

Whatever deficiencies might exist in Russia's military, I don't think geopolitical analysis should be done thinking that all Russia can field are some (excellent) horsemen who wear funny hats.

"China has mostly huge ones that can wipe out a city."

Ugh, anything over a megaton pretty much wipes out just about any city.

Most average missile warheads are "multiple" warheads (10), and each warhead averages 10 megatons.

So, the average nuke coming either direction carries 100 megatons...and there are "thousands" of these on both sides.

Clearly, the human race is a "rational" species.

It is no longer about how many kilotons of TNT equivalent it is, but how accurately you can deliver it. Also, MIRVs.

A well-placed extremely-high altitude volley of 4 particuarly-constructed nuclear devices of small-to-meduim yield over the Continental United States can eradicate the electrical grid (the so-called 'infrastructure'). This has been widely known since the 1950's, when experiments in the South Pacific wiped out the electrical grid in Hawaii (for a time), almost 5,000 miles away.

Kilotons of low-placed weapons would have little effect (they are NOW rated in MEGATONS, by the way, son).

I suggest you bone up on Electromagnetic Pulse weaponry, as well as other types of Scalar Wave weaponry that has been and is now being deployed.

City-killing weapons were almost obsolete, before they were first deployed in Japan in 1945.

Why deploy weapons like THIS (i.e., crude atomic weaponry) that make the landmasses uninhabitable? The IDEA is to CONQOUR and INHABIT; and RULE. A bunch of moon-suited soldiers in a wasted land of radiation and spoil can't do shit (but report back to base, and take videos). Didn't the Apollo missions make any impressions on this 'idealization of total destruction' thinking?

I guess not. Mankind is doomed to repeat past mistakes. We're a bunch of STUPID fuckers, you know.

Also Russia and USA decided not to keep building bigger bombs, due the testing ramifications. I believe the russian who built the megabomb is bascially now against all nuclear weapons. It is not the tech, it is that they have choosen not to build those bombs.....but if the fuckers wanted to make us the next mars - they could easily.

Are you REAL, or are you here to simply stir up the pot?
God isn't 'simply' in a mind-set. God is the Creator, and we are the Creations. You can't 'redefine' God; any more than a car can redefine the engineers and designers that created IT.
The TRUE definition of 'religion' has to do with a 'learned habit' (for example in common usage; 'I brush my teeth every morning, religiously').
This isn't an attack. Your comments thus far seem to be somewhat subdued, and 'agreeable'. Most people around the world don't know who 'Sonny Liston' is/was.

The US performs live fire exercises against people who shoot back with real ammo on a global scale every day of the year, so I'm not impressed with Russians occasionally playing let's pretend in their own backyard.

But you guys go ahead with your thinking that a group of unmotivated virgin conscripts will be a match for a veteran force that has been thoroughly blooded for more than a decade.

I think that the vetern force you describe might have a bit more of a problem than it has had in the past fighting low grade opponents. It is a while since an 'equals' war has been fought.

For a start it is unlikey to be able to call in air support or rely on its logistics chain.

He who fights with real motivation on his own land will generally win.

I respectfully disagree with you.  I think the outcome hinges on a couple of things.  First and foremost, as others have noted, if it goes nuclear at any time, nobody wins, except the aforementioned cockroaches.  In a conventional war, I'll go with the side that has the home field advantage.  If a war is in eastern or central Europe, I'll take Russia in pretty much of a cakewalk.  Western Europe has pretty much shown it doesn't have the desire to take on Russia just to help out people in the Slavik nations.  If the fight is in Western Europe, however, I think it's a tossup.  Western Europeans won't have a choice but to fight and fighting for your homeland makes people a lot tougher.  Obviously, pretty much anywhere in the Western Hemisphere would favor the US.

The other big wild card in any war would be China.  Do they sit it out and scoop up the spoils in the aftermath?  Or do they make a choice as to their largest trading partner or their newst "buddy" Russia?

The US military has performed live fire exercises a lot, I agree with you there.  But when push comes to shove, the leadership has placed some pretty onerous rules of engagement on US troops over the past 65 years (from Korea on) that I'm not really sure they know how to actually win a war as oposed to simply fighting delaying actions.

Ignorant post

Georgians forces greatly larger over 10-1 but Ossetians held

Russia first assaults were very outnumbered  5-1 or more but still overran many Grizuns...

Georgia possessed more updated T72 armor and millions $ of latest US equipment..

Georgia had deep armory while Russia had what they carry.

Much of Russia side armor was very old, even obsolete

Also US advisors, trainers and there were mercs from several countries...

Some months later by chance I had conversation with one who trained Georgians.

He was fair, honest about, admitted shocked ...voice lowered..

Could not explain what he had witnessed.

Kiev forces were far better armed first months.

Ukriane Seperatists are still using WW2 anti-tank rifles and other their Grandfathers put away in storage.

but more equal now from vast capture and private contributions.

Kiev half real military changed sides, went home, left for Russia and other, including much best Officers/leadership.

Genghis Khan conquered Russia. FYI.

Granted, that was 700 years ago, so I see your point.

And what became of the Mongol Empire?

The slow grind of non-stop losses incurred keeping order in Russia tore them apart.

Tell who the fuck is going to attack Russia's borders? Nobody is, its all clickbait bullshit. Nobody gives a flying fuck on the border of eastern ukraine in the west. If now Vlad, goes west past Kiev then all hell breaks loose. But he doesn't have the money to engage in a prolonged battle anyways, do doubt he will practice his Judo that far.

Nobody in Europe has to have any illusions about what kind of rule they would face if they would be overrun by Russia. The West should have left Ukraine alone but let the Russian army stay where it is now.

It's not how many soldiers Russia has but the capability that they actually do have that's never been disclosed or displayed.

I'm not talking nukes but more advanced and less destructive weaponry, mass incapacitating technologies like soundwave, pulse, heat etc.

Things that would render a lot of equipment and boots on the ground pretty much ineffective.

I heard and interesting soundbyte the other day.

Apparently Russia has been practising drills in which they mobilise 40,000 troops in 48 hours - it would take NATO about 2 MONTHS to mobilise a similar sized force.
