The Global Economy Is Not "Off The Lows"

Tyler Durden's picture

On the day when the MSCI World Stock Index hits a fresh record high - enthused by the exuberance of the US markets - we thought it more than a little ironic that Global GDP growth expectations for 2015 just hit a fresh record low...

Growth Expectations not "off the lows"

Equities not "off the highs"

Welcome to the surreal world.

Or when the currency is worth less than the cotton rag it is printed on.  Then it's value will be derived from its caloric value, or even as its decorative value.  Just imagine how a wall would look if it were wallpapered with $100 (or even $1,000,000) bills!  If you've got a hole in your wall, it would be a great way to paper over it.

Well it already happened with coins, dollars are bound to go the same way.

actually, printing is part of the slowing down of the shtf that happen since 2000 now.

the problem is the events are too slow and scattered over time,  brainless mass superbowl couch do not remember anything, thing will go  worse to even worse for a decade, until the next generation is like causette in hugo's book... then, we will eventually see some guys acting  like --- terrorosts--- to save what remain ofthe planet... do you imagine the state of the oceans in 10years of more fukushima ?

i do not prepare for war, people will never fight each other to defans lands anylonger, i prepare only to be able to get food by myself now when in 20 years  guns industry will be suppressed to mass to prevent rebellion.

I could never understand how the FX market could price one worthless piece of paper currency against another worthless piece of worthless currency.

And then it hit me.  Compare the BTU's available in one ton of each worthless currency against the BTU's available in a ton of coal.  Then price the paper currency against the value of the coal to get its true value/paper currency unit.

That would make the job of FX traders so much easier and would give them a more valid comparison.

The race would then be on worldwide to make sure that treasuries were using the highest heat content paper to print their funny money in order to give it the highest value.

Or, just use real, shiny yellow money.

Tomorrow's GDP report should be pure entertainment.

The planet knows yellen is a full of shit used car salesman, but the bitch has its finger on the buy button through the banks it controls - all of them.

The only wild card is the USD strength - should crush the markets eventually.

It is when it hits the lows, and about to turn around, the markets will collapse.

It is a bizarro opposite world we live in, just have to accept that.

I'm not sure if the collapse will be heralded in the form of DOW 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, DOW 600 or we just wake up one morning and traders are yelling "TURN THOSE MACHINES BACK ON!"

Who knows, nothing can be excluded with sociopaths at the drawing board, I guess ultimately it is a matter of timing, as anything (at least in our realm) that isn't forever, can't last forever.

Just as the markets have been controled to move up, they will be controlled to move down. The Fed has to unload their balence sheet, they will make a huge profit in doing so. When stocks tank, and they will, treasuries will rally. When the yeild on the 10 year drops sub 1%, then the Fed will have completed this phase. Trouble is, external geo-political crap can really wreak havoc and the down side can get out of hand. It is drawing very close.

In short, we've got all sorts of problems to deal with, and we may be able to handle one or two at a time, but there is a good chance that the Fed will be stuck trying to deal with six or seven at the same time.

Yeah, but the global GDP includes all those loser countries. I'm focused on the only driver of stock prices: corporate buybacks and central bank interventions. Those two beat profits any day.

Clayton, Mo., police chief on State Auditor Tom Schweich's death: 'Everything at this point suggests that it is an apparent suicide'

http://www.kansascity.com/news/government-politics/article11231360.html

Thomas A. "Tom" Schweich (October 2, 1960 – February 26, 2015) was an American politician, diplomat, attorney, and author. In the 2010 election, Schweich won the race for State Auditor of Missouri, defeating Democratic incumbent Susan Montee.[1]

Prior to being elected State Auditor, he served as U.S. Coordinator for Counternarcotics and Justice Reform in Afghanistan.[2] While in that position, he was given the rank of Ambassador by U.S. President George W. Bush.[3]

In 2015, Schweich announced he would run for Governor of Missouri in the 2016 election. On February 26, 2015, he died as a result of injuries sustained from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
