It has become one of the most annoying sites not because of ads but because of a stone-faced flip flopping on any issue as long as its counter-Obomba. ZH was against militarization until military was at its lowest with Obama. Now the Chinese have a bigger submarine fleet and it's all Obombas fault. ZH was against the cable-ification of internet until Obombas FCC turned it into a public utility. I'm anxiously waiting for the day Obomba declares AGW to be a ruse by underground reptilians and Al Gore. That day both ZH and all it's users in the comments section will endorse, finally, over a hundred years in physics and climatology.
When a leader sees his agenda so important that all constitutional notions are lost, that congressional participation is unnecessary, when the bulk of our most significant policies are set by his pen alone, then it would only be prudent to assume that it is all in an attempt to create a tyranny never before experienced in America.And when we are faced with an absolute corrupt media, provably so, then yes, I will suspect Obama of the worst of the worst.

Sorry to wake you up from slumber, but Obomba is hardly the first one to do that. Even if he was, it's not like absolutely everything he did could be considered "bad" (at least from standards held here until not long ago). Is the reduction of military force such a bad idea? Is militarism such a great idea? Is the cable-ification of the internet a bad or a good idea? I try to think each issue as its own, rather than to assess its virtues or vices depending on who's the president.
He's not the first one to do it, he's just the one that's doing it NOW, and doing it MORE than anyone else had previously. I don't think it's bad that our military gets massively cut necessarily and in fact that's going to have to happen either by our design or in spite of it at some point. I'd really, REALLY rather have the cuts be made by someone who doesn't viscerally hate the military though, so that the cuts aren't just spiteful and stupid. And hell NO I don't want any more government involvement in the internet of any kind, PERIOD. I don't want government involvement in ANYTHING more than it already is, and I'd like government involvement to dissipate considerably in many areas.
I see government involvement as intrusive and stupid, and Obama sees it as the best way to "improve" things. Is it really surprising that people like me hate people like him being in office, and that we're very quick to condemn his actions and in fact him in general? At least Bush and Clinton just wanted to steal money and launch wars for the most part. Obama wants to run the world without resorting to getting our consent on anything. When we tried to exercise our voice and kicked his party out of power in one and then both houses of congress, he simply started writing executive orders and ignoring the law. I don't LIKE that.

I guess then that the one who outstretched the military in foreign military adventures actually loved them, right? Hate the military... I don't think there's been a US president in the last 50-60 years who has hated the miltary even a picogram...

How can you like something that is illegal?
Congress is only permitted to fund a national army for 'no more that two years' in providing for the 'common defense'. The last time congress declared war was December 8, 1941....even for the arithmetically challenged, that's clearly more than two years.
The constitution provides ONLY for the existance of the Navy and the state malitia, nothing else. The existance of the US army, the US marines and the USAF are clearly illegal.
You might argue that they are necessary and that is fine, then call a constitutional congress and amend the constitution. In the abscence of said amendments, the above mentioned organisations are illegal.
You can hate or love the military all you want, by the letter of the law any armed federal agency outside the navy is illegal.
