Is the Media Trying to "Disappear" Rand Paul (Just Like His Father)?

Tyler Durden's picture

Submitted by Mike Krieger via Liberty Blitzkrieg blog,

On Friday, the Wall Street Journal ran a cover photo of the Republican hopefuls set to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Maryland. The caption at the bottom of the picture read: At a meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference, an attendee holds photos of possible presidential candidates.

This is what the photo looked like:

Screen Shot 2015-02-28 at 3.06.04 PM

Notice anything bizarre about this photograph? Let’s see. There’s Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Rick Santorum, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin and Rick Perry. Basically every insane hack and oligarch puppet imaginable is prominently featured. Yet, the man who would go on to win the CPAC straw poll, Rand Paul, isn’t anywhere to be seen.

Actually, upon further inspection, his curly locks appear to be protruding from behind Chris Christie’s gigantic skull, while his ear is softly caressing Rick Santorum’s right eyeball. The only other face that is entirely covered up seems to be the biggest laughing stock of them all, Donald Trump, who may actually be a good candidate considering his unique ability to repeatedly emerge from bankruptcy unscathed (yes, I’m joking).

While this is just one picture, and could indeed be a regrettable oversight, the reason I brought it up, is because the media shamelessly went out of its way to pretend his father, Ron Paul, didn’t exist back in 2012. It was so bad, that Jon Stewart made a classic clip exposing the entire spectacle. Watch below:

Rand toes the line. No need to bother marginalizing him. He doesn't say anything too dangerous. Just another garden variety republican that follows the trends. No consistence, not like his father at all.

Exactly.  We are getting "bad" emperors because we are bad people.  How could it be otherwise?  Try to imagine a GW Bush presidency and a "Patriot Act"" in 1825, that is if you know anything about history and most don't.  In agregate we have the government we deserve and it;s as apparent here on ZH as it is out on the street.  Reading the comments section is rather revealing.  What we see here is a detached, joking nonresponse to the revelations of extremely grave threats to our collective liberty and economic wellbeing as framed by the Tylers daily.  It is the same numbed passivity one sees over and over in present day America;  A woman is being raped in broad daylight and sixteen bystaanders have gathered around and are filming the scene with their cells, doing nothing.  It is all just entertainment after all.  As Krishnamurti said:  'Being well adjusted to a profoundly sick society is no measure of good health'.

He's trying a different tactic than his Dad  -it's basically -"let's get more then 7-10% of the vote"   - I am disappointed in his rhetoric on many issues - but  don't believe his propaganda  -I believe the truth he speaks, the issues where he is a maverick  -AIPAC and the banksters would love to marginalize and shut him down -he's too smart for that. You won't see rand standing up for 911 Truth or condemning israel   -as much as he'd like too. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. What other choice do mwe have? We'll have other choices  -all others are destined to get 1-2% of the vote. I'll take my chance on Rand -

John and Robert Kennedy did the same thing. They played the bankster game, including schmoozing with the CIA/Mob, got into office and set about excising the cancer. Of course they made the mistake of believing themselves untouchable, and paid the ultimate price.

Will TPTB risk another Kennedy pulling one over on them?
Will Rand make the same mistake?

If he does get into office I don't expect him to survive a term, and you can bet that the assassination will be blamed on Russia or Iran.

Very true. Politics is alll a parlor game that keeps the public busy so that the bankers can continue looting the nation.

Foolishly, I used to favor one political party over another, and I used to anxiously watch TV on election night to root for the presidential candidate for whom I had voted.

It was only later that I realized that the election results had been predecided...just like a WWF wrestling match. The campaigns and the elections were just elaborate shows. They were the illusion of choice and the illusion of democracy.

The bankers know that without those illusions, people would be extremely pissed off. After all, they would be without hope. And hope is the foundation upon which the pyramid structure of America's hierarchical society is propped.

Every American hopes to have a house and a family. Every American hopes to succeed in business. And every American hopes to retire in wealth and tranquility. So, with those hopes dangled like carrots, it's easy to be deceived and enslaved.

Last night Tyler ran an item on further restrictions of Civil Rights....The suggestion was that the vote needs to be restricted to the elite who demonstrate "truthiness" like tests on the locations of the Political Fictions which are known as Nation States..

You ought to read that as some "dyed in the wool Libertarians" exposed themselves to be nothing more than Statist Republicans with the intention of further restricting Liberty rather than restoring it..

There are far too many imposters here, more than happy to talk your book in a vain attempt to have you pick their brand as, somehow, better. Directly answering your question that is where the junks originate.

Be wary of wolves in sheep's clothing. The Fifth Element has forces hidden as Trojan Horses deep within this crowd.

Of course their dishonesty, somehow justified by them as they claim to act "for the greater good', will serve to condemn them as Satan is the father of all lies. But they walk being deluded concerning their own salvation, placing their faith in the State rather than into God Almighty.

To Liberty.

Voting is pointless, at least on a national election. However, if a felon has done their time, "paid their debt to society" I see no reason they shouldn't be allowed to vote. Not to mention with our massive prison population, most of the people are in there for non violent, victimless crimes anyway. Possessing any amount of plant shouldn't restrict your rights at all, much less the rest of your life.

1.Please cite section and paragraph in the US Constitution that states after a person is convicted of a crime, and pays for the this conviction with time served, they have FOREVER forfeited their rights to vote?

2. Because the government has criminalized so many different topics the average person commits 3 felonies a day we should really think about the concept of rights stripped from someone who has run afoul of the system.

http://www.harveysilverglate.com/Books/ThreeFeloniesaDay.aspx

3. The US has the largest prison population in the entire world, and the second highest per capital incarceration rate (after Seychellies??? Population 92,000). To put this in perspective, the USSA has more folks in prison than communist China, a country of 1.1 billion people.

Are you telling this guy should be banned from voting for the rest of his life?

After someone has done their time I can see certain specific restraints on their behavior, child molesters don’t get to work at a daycare or hang out at the community playground, Bank robbers don’t get a job with Brinks, etc. But stripping voting rights from ALL felons is just a .

If someone commits some sort of non political crime, do we take away those folks voting rights?

I am so glad to see the number of down votes you received here from other readers.

nmewn's picture

Well he got my red too but it should be pointed out "where we are" (and the power we actually have) in this system. And I'm going to stray away from why felons voting is good or bad for just a moment.

The top federal officers (that is to say, the executives, the president and the vice president) are appointed or voted on by electors.

The Supremes in Bush v Gore cited McPherson v Blacker observed this by stating flatly: “The individual citizen has no federal constitutional right to vote for electors for the President of the United States,..”

Period. By law.

Thus, there is no "individual right" to vote for president and for a long time there was no "right" for the direct election of a US senator which was the correct way of doing it, as that would make it a "democracy" and something undesirable. However the notion of "the peoples voice" was not lost on the founders, that is why there is a House of Representatives, that body is the peoples voice. The Senate was to represent the individual state governments interests, not the peoples per se. The Presidency was to enforce the law as passed by both houses of Congress (the Senate & the House) when or if they could agree on a law that was needed to be passed and pass one or not.

Now the question is why is or was that?

It (the federal system) was setup as a separate and equal entity to the individual states, not superior them, a confederation. Its why you have individual state laws and not one all inclusive law and one can't help but notice the historical trend of deferring to an "all knowing, all seeing" technocratic central authority in DC by malice of forethought or by peoples blind stupidity.

So returning to the felon who has paid (with his time and/or labor) his debt to a state, he does in fact have the same rights as we do. He gets to vote in local & state elections as permitted (or not) by that state and unfortunately now, for senators to the US government and that states district US representative.

We are afterall, all felons now in some way thanks to the central authorities.

Don't forget to check the box on your US tax return stating you have health insurance ;-)

Obama wants felons to vote. Crossing the border illegally is, after all, a felony.

So do the rest of the Republicans as they are no different than the Democrats.

The Republican Led House of Representatives owns the Purse Strings. If they do not want something to happen, some law take effect, then they do not have to fund it.

It is like Obamacare. They voted to fund it...TWICE. They do not put their money where their mouth is. (Of course they are reaping massive profits from their Stock Investments as a result.) They SAY that they are against it but they vote to FUND IT? Financial support is SUPPORT.

But in this World, "Money talks and bullshit walks. Put up or shut up."

OT  ObamaLaw, I don't believe it

President Barack Obama today introduced his plan for a progressive takeover of state and local policing. “We have a great opportunity… to really transform how we think about community law enforcement relations,” he said Monday. “We need to seize that opportunity… this is something that I’m going to stay very focused on in the months to come,” Obama said, as he touted a new interim report from his Task Force on 21st Century Policing. Obama also instructed his media allies to help a federalization of policing, and to sideline critics of centralized policing rules. “I expect our friends in the media to really focus on what’s in this report and pay attention to it.”....yahoo.com

Thankfully the local AM radio station replaced Hannity with Michael Savage about 6 months ago. Before Savage Nation, I avoided Hannity and switched over to Dave Ramsey but that gets kinda old quickly if one is already a saver and almost debt-free.

Debt is a blessing.  Borrow everything you can from an asset, buy an appreciating assset, and then pay loan back with depreciating fiat money over a very long time.

Example:  Mortgage your house, buy a rare coin, pay back mortage over 3o years with money that is losing value.  Rare coin appreciates over 30 years.  You still have the house when debt is re=paid.  Repeat.

Rand is definitely not his father, but does have more 'charisma' - which unfortunately in politics means something. Any traction with auditing the FED would be a positive, but still not sure Id vote for him, but not like it matters anyway. We are so far in the rabbits hole politically we have to wait until after the collapse to rebuild what's left of the republic - if we can. No one man or right 'ticket' will solve things - especially in a constitutional republic. I mean if anything a republican controlled Congress should have changed things for the better right??? Hahahaha.

But What did I do to try to stop this train wreck?

My little network of folks are mostly content sheeple, despite my nearly constant badgering with emails of the lastest atrocity.

The few that are waking up are not enough to mount a great awakening.

Dr. Ron Paul QUADRUPLED his support last time around.  He carried a lot of state delegations.  He won Minnesota so hard, the only reason Michele Bachmann got a seat at the convention is because Paul supporters took pity on her and gave her a seat.

But, let's not think about that.  Bush v Clinton for the complete humiliation of America (at least on the surface)!!!

2016 is a banker ghetto slave show.  How about a New National Party in 2020 to quake the house down?  All it would take is oh, a quarter billion dollars and serious, serious, platform-building and grassroots canvassing.  But no one wants to quit their day job......so falls the Republic.

Rand might have tried not to make the "mistake" of his father and be too open about the Status-Quo, but this would and could not have helped him, the Rothschilds won't take this gamble, why risk it with somebody who could blow everything sky high if you can have a fully vetted fully owned and fully controlled Puppet.

Rand should just drop the pretenses(if he has any) and go full Libertarian be done with the "Republican" crap or he will end up exactly like his father marginalized and ostracized by his "own" Party into oblivion.

I would feel better about Rand if he was not such a corporatist...  He seems to think that Ayn Rand is historical, plausible, or even readable.

Where are the rational Libertarians?  I am waiting to see one appear on the national scene.  Unless it is impossible to be one?  I just don't know.

Seems to me, though, that there should be a few people in leadership positions who would acknowledge that: 1) we have way more government than we can afford!  2) that smaller government is better does not mean that no government is the ideal.  The reason we need some government is that greed and averice drive so many.  And the essential dilemna of American democracy is, who do we trust to govern, and how do we determine what conduct should be restricted?  Does right to bear arms equal right to have nukes?  and, 3) there is no such thing as a free lunch, so if we, as a Nation, vote for a program, we have voted to fund it.  We need a balanced budget amendment that ties spending with taxing (every spending bill has a taxing component).  It would bring into play some personal responsibility!

Just saying.

Yes right to bear arms includes the right to have nukes. We probably need an amendment to correct that.  In the meantime there is a bigger threat where the fed pukes are banning common everyday ammo.  I am less worried about my neighbor having a nuke than I am about the polizei having guns, ammo, suppressors, and vests that they don't want me to have - and their willing ness to completely violate the law to enforve their preference.

On of our first acts as a nation was to engage a private navy in the First Barbary War.  That is the definition of a pirate fleet.

How do you feel about ISIS owning nukes?  Cannons?  RPG's?

What about ISIS in America?  Still feeling good about that?

Tue, 03/03/2015 - 13:03 | 5849975 Chump

I don't understand how your questions are relevant.  We fought the Barbary pirates because they killed our citizens and sank our vessels, not because they owned warships.  Do you not agree that the Second Amendment included cannons and warships at the time of drafting?

What about ISIS?  Why do I care or have any say in what a foreign citizen outside the borders of the U.S. owns or doesn't own?  Within the U.S., terrible people do terrible things with weapons every hour of every day.  What is your point?

I earned my living selling guns and ammo to the public while I was in college.  I have been (but am not now for good reasons) a member of NRA and supported them until they became a far right tool.  When I wanted to buy a rifle and engage in the sport of target shooting, and later hunting, my Dad insisted that before I could do that I must take and pass an NRA course on gun safety.  Which I did!

If we ran our coutnry the way we did, our army would be composed of states' militia and everyone would better understand the Second Amendment.  In my mind, the NRA pushes provocative legislation in order to keep the average hunter and shooting enthuiast enraged.

I keep a cpy of the Constitution of the United States of America at my desk.  It is small, and also it is inexpensive.  I got mine at Barnes & Noble.  They're about $7 in print, and you can get it free as an ebook.  It is a truly amazing document; it is frightening what later "thinkers" have done to it.

Enjoy!
