I somewhat disagree with the cartoon. Iran has signed the NPT and has allowed for inspectors to look at enrinchment facilities according to the treaty. Israel...not so much.
According to our own US government, any country with nukes and not signatories to the NPT are NOT to receive any US aid, while the US has supplied, according to conservative estimates, over $130 BILLION. Hypocrits.

There is no proved method, including DNA that separates Jew from Middle Eastern and some European species.

Being that this was congress, I have no doubt that a majority of the room truly DID have a partial chub at the prospect of more war in the middle east.

I'm thinking that Jews moved into Government as they also moved in traditional money industries, Banking, Jewelry, Gold & Silver Minting, Arts, Entertainment, History, Philosophy, Science, War Technology.
Jews were entering all industries except maybe Catholicism and Anglican Church.

As odious as we may find some of these countries, they aren't stupid, or suicidal. What they seek is something resembling a balance of power. The only way to deter someone from getting nukes is to provide a guarantee of safety FROM all the nukes held by others, which is beyond us to do. So, they will have nukes.
Keep in mind, Iran only has to HAVE them...actually USING them isn't on the table right now. The Iranians are NOT a bunch of stupid camel-jockeys, and have just as much desire to not be turned into a sea of grayish-green glass as Israel does.
What they WANT is to tell their people that now you are safe from BEING nuked. That they now have the ability to respond in kind.
Once they have that, their nukes will sit and collect dust just like everyone else's.
Or they'll get stolen/misplaced and wind up being used by some group.
That is the same argument that is used each and every time a new country obtains nukes...and it has not happened yet, despite the growing club of nuclear nations...

I understand the desire for empathy, but how can you empathize with that? A significant percentage of these people want you dead, not because they hate our freedoms, but because we are a threat to Allah, an insult to Allah. They kill people for cartoons of Allah. This is not something that will melt away with time. This is an ideology that supports tyranny, and once tyranny is established the ideology is irrelevant. The tyranny remains. With NUKES. Nukes that given the right circumstance they will use, not because they think they will win a battle here on earth, but because there glory is with Allah. The hardest fight you can have is against someone who has nothing to lose, or cares not if they live or die. Americans won't even fight for their own freedoms. If we take this to a battle.....then, we have already lost.
It would be a mistake to think that those extremists are running the Iranian government, or would be permitted to use the weapons at will. We have a lot of vocal extremists here in the US, and no one seriously imagines they would be allowed to 'play' with our own nuclear stockpile.
But the Iranian government has to allow those extremists to blow off steam, and has to walk a fine line between seeming to appease them, and functioning within the larger global world. And the responsible leadership is trying. But they have to deal with a restive population with some crazy ideas, while at the same time not alienating their significant religious base...they've seen how things can deteriorate quickly when the mosques start calling for people to take to the streets. And they must do these things within the larger context of the dialogue with the West...
America's past involvement with the internal politics of Iran has decidedly NOT helped, and the Iranian leadership has to deal with THAT as well when presenting ideas to their people, especially ideas seen as coming from us.
Once you strip away all the religious/ideological/emotional arguments, the problem is really not that difficult to resolve.
