Bonds Bid All Day But Stocks Shrug Off Apple's "Turlington Turmoil"

Tyler Durden's picture

Overheard on CNBC many times today as Apple unleashed the Apple Watch and a gold Macbook...

Ugly Chinese data and worse German data were trumped by USDJPY-ignited momo to dead cat bounce stocks today with Apple dominating the headlines...

Futures show the overnight moves (and intraday swings) - note NASDAQ plunge stalled perfectly at unch and was rescued higher...

On the day The (soon to include AAPL) Dow outperformed...

Since the jobs data...

But some context for today's move... S&P around a Fib 38.2% dead cat bounce...

Of course today was all about AAPL... and the "Turlington Turmoil"

Bonds were bid all day...

Credit markets were not buying it at all...

The USD gave back some of Friday's gains led by Cable strength...

Oil & Copper rallied while silver slipped and gold closed unch...

Seriously WTF!!!

Across the asset classes over the last 2 days... Spot the odd one out (hint: It's oil stupid) that was algo-ed almost retracing all of Friday's losses)

And Finally...

Do as you want, just give me a soft landing, like last time.

Apple is a bloated peice of shit.   But still a whole lot better than the bigger shit pile of the fed and wallstreet. A million millionaires made their own money, and these assholes can't even print money that contributes to anyone but themselves and cronies.

Hundreds of congress critters living long lives of service to their masters. Steve JObs, must of been too productive. Made them all look bad.

The million millionaires who actually busted their butts that you speak of must be ready to stand shoulder to shoulder for freedom and justice when the time comes so that humanity actually has a marketplace in the future - these are dark times friend.

Apple now in the Dow marks the peak for Apple, and probably the Dow.  Its all downhill from here.

First we parse Yellen for 'patience', obsess on what Draghi had for breakfast then hope Cook sez AAPL swatch can provide precise GPS location of our soulmate.   Endless excuses for low volume muddle are more likely symptoms of the overall dearth of global financial leadership (gosh darn it).

Are you a lucky guy or are you in deep trouble? Can't be sure. Depends on the size of her palms. Best advice is not to take a chance and go out for beers.

Market theology from Talking Heads

Everyone is trying
to get into the market
The name of the market,
the market’s called Heaven
Managers in Heaven buy my favorite stock
Buy AAPL once again, buy it all day long

Heaven, Heaven is a place
A place where corrections
Corrections never happen

There is a party, everyone is there
Everyone hits new highs
At exactly the same time
It's hard to imagine that anything at all
Could be so exciting, could be this much fun

And when this rally’s over, it will start again
It will not be any different
It will be exactly the same . . .

Heaven is . . .

Central Banks are doing a masterful job of increasing the wealth divide globally as they take turns forking out ever increasing amounts of currency debasement to the masses who are watching the ever inflating costs of healthcare, food and housing continue to outpace wages.

So sick.

I'm right there with ya.  As I walk around my neighborhood we call "the million dollar ghetto" which in the past month has now turned into the 1.5M ghetto, I'm feeling things are even more "not right" than ever before.

I caught this vid of 2guys on financial news arguing bubble - no bubble and they put 5 company names on the screen that had 2014 capital investment of ~ 500mil. each.  I had to look a couple of them up, just to see what they were.

If this is possible and it will take off, then the sky is the limit. I've always wanted to have a "real" elephant at a birthday party.

Gotta issue a compliment when a compliment is due. The site is pretty nice. Good artists at work there.

Just look at the open positions and the amount of people they're looking for. If this is a start-up it is already very well funded.

Could be used to display Potemkin's villages every where and just imagine the applications for the MIC...

Long shot because the competitors are on to all the same ideas. However he is self funding this company because , well, he appears to be a dreamer, and a billionaire from other work he did before. In the "we are" section, one catagory is "psycadelic ________ (something). THAT is probably describing the owner/funder.                           https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyDjpGzdNE4

So you can buy a $10k gold Apple watch, but it comes with the silicone fitness band. To get a gold band you need to pay another $7k.

Just a stainless steel band for the Apple watch costs $375. JUST THE FUCKING BAND!!!!

You aren't talking Rolex here, you're talking fucking Apple. Chinese made consumer electronic crap Apple. There is a special kind of stupid that buys Apple.

People are coming out in defense of this lunacy by saying fine Swiss timepieces cost $15k, but those are handcrafted perfectionist marvels of engineering. Not a piece of electronic garbage made in Guangzhou or Shanghai. Not to mention the going price of Android wear is $200-250. You can also buy really good Chinese brand smartwatches for $100.

Fuck Apple. Hopefully the $30k smartwatch is the beginning of the end for the most overvalued corporation in history.

Apple watch says something about the guy. Like wearing a copper bracelet...

The short, quick breaths and perspiration of frustrated gold holders is palpable here.  You can practically hear them stammering:

"D-d-d-d-a-a-a-m-m-m-n-n-i-i-t-t-t-t, wh-wh-wh-e-e-e-n is g-g-g-gold going to up and equities d-d-d-down??"
