Currency Wars... Are Not Working

Tyler Durden's picture

While none of the current batch of currency-devaluing Central Bankers would admit that their policies are designed to weaken the currency, enhance competitiveness, and hail a new bright future of growth for their nation (by printing money), it is clear that is the chosen textbook-based path chosen. However, as the following charts show, it's not working...

Massive devaluation in Japan... economic growth expectations slowing...

Massive devaluation in Europe... economic growth expectations slowing...

And then there's The US...

(though note the last few weeks' surge in the USD has sparked some deterioration in the economic outlook).

*  *  *

Clearly the answer to Japan and Europe's problem is more devaluation...

Let it go the course to destroy it so the cetral bankfucks can pretend to save the day with a new currency to protect the planet from us from their own creations.

I do more with blowing a few turds every morning. At least my turds have purpose.

Every moring I name them yellen, bernanke, and obama and more.  JUst like a named winter storm. Can't wait for the Jeb turd. Might be smooth and swift. I've tired of the clinton turd, it leaves me a little itchy and scratchy.

Totally agree even though I am against this shit show failed cluster fuck concept. All the same if it is going to be stolen from me (taxes) I would like to touch it before it is given to the banksters and the oligarchs. Just sayin. Oh well seedlings are growing nicely in the basement and we'll turn some dirt this weekend in southern iowa. Something that actually makes sense to me in this emerging dystopian nightmare!

Aka "more bank bailouts."

At some point fuel costs in Europe will soar.  That'll make that work Tesla is doing pretty darn valuable in my view.  Not calling that a buy recommendation...just saying.

Not really.  What Central Banksters are trying to do, besides pleasing their masters, is get some inflation going.

That's not working either.

Reminds me of the time I tried to give Mrs K a special treat on her birthday.  I had a pair of those little plastic white eyeballs with the clear covers and the round black dots in 'em that roll all over when you shake 'em.  Well, I scotch taped 2 of 'em to my ding-a-ling and woke her up in the morning waving it at her.
That didn't work either.

Do Not Scotch Tape Anything to the Head of Your Ding-A-Ling.  Just because I'm crazy doesn't mean you should try it.  I'm a professional.

Got one for you Kemo Sabe.  I just found out that in late Roman times, there was a coin called the sesterce, which was worth, I shit you not -  two and a half asses...

So my question for the Swami..., in modern terms is that one Kartrashian, or one half of a Mooo Shell?

(I wouldn't try super glue in the nether regions either)

Note the word "expectations" - whose expectations.  There seems to be a remarkable stability in Euro expectations.  The USD 2015 vertical jump in "expectations" must have something to do with pot legalisation. [I mean its psychological effect, not it's economic effect.]

Who can't tell that US GDP growth will be weak this year?  Even stock earnings estimates reflect this.  Everyone gets it except the Fed.

They do have a necropolis in Moscow...which is pretty far out if you think about it.  "You're now part of the undead" is apparently an option in those parts.

I feel another QE coming in just a bit.  They won't call it QE but it will be some other wacky term.  We simply can't stay "competitive" in such a radical "currency war" environment.  Of course we will get a pile of dollars for cheap now won't we?  Selling dollars now goes furthur locally, a least for just a bit.....  It is really hard to plan.

Hey i got an idea! If you want to be more competetive? Try making a better product. I know it sounds crazy, But it could work. Just sayin back in the day i would pay extra to get the better stuff. Honest in the real world people buy and pay for the better stuff. Because it has greater value. note Dripping with sarctasticness.

The US is going to be the first into recession although the obama care covers about 2% GDP we will be below 0 first.

There's no way companies will buy from GE when they can get a discount on Siemens.

There's no way buy from Cat when you can get from Sumitomo in Japan.

And so on. BOJ and ECB though they would get cute with QE. Their economies can't handle this and additionally the sizes are much greater. Additionally, they are stupid enough to try it at the same time while the US isn't doing QE.

But at this point it doesn't matter. The world has decided on two currencies as present day gold. USD and CHF.

I'm shocked the USA isn't entering the fray actually.  Let alone engaging in a trade war as well (see below.)

Certainly energy investors are calling for both.

This almost feels like the Standard Oil days...back when people actually paid for things and money mattered.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming of "how to pay for the Ford Class."
