Currency Carnage Continues In Asia, EURUSD 1.04 Pushes DXY Over 100
As the world's dollar funding shortage continues to unwind, EURUSD has re-collapsed to a 1.04 handle in the Asia session and dragged The USD Index above 100 for the first time since 2003. This is now the fastest surge in the USD since records began and EM FX is getting monkey-hammered. Swissy has almost retraced the entire post-SNB de-peg surge. USD strength has weakened JPY and thus miraculously lifted US equity futures (just as it did last night before the dead cat bounce collapsed to lower-lows).
EURUSD 1.04 (600 pips lower since payrolls)... and USD Index 100.00 (highest since 2003)
Swissy dumping...
EM FX is getting slayed...
EUR has weakened more than twice as much as the Ruble this year...
and JPY is coming unglued from stocks...
as S&P Futs dead-cat-bounce deja vu all over again...

No link. Fact : he's done no public appearances since March 5. Fact : the Rusky government said Putin's health is ``ok``. Fact : Putin has pushed back 3 important meetings just this week. (one treaty signing with South Ossetia, meeting in Belarus and Kazahkstan postponed)
Something is up, for sure. What it REALLY is, who knows...
Now let's say Putin is out of the picture... The power would go to Medvedev... but would hardcore fanatics like Shoizu and Rogozin allow that since Medvedev is the only one in the Putin's entourage to not be an hardliner/intelligence man??

The Nikkei is going up because of March option expiries on Friday. The high on my usdx chart is right at 100, and the momentum in the move seems to be slowing.

It would be interesting for the EURUSD pair next week on Monday. The Temporary Debt Limit Extension Act runs out this Sunday, around a trillion dollars over the current cap of 17.2 trillion. Then there's the Greek payments to the IMF, first due tomorrow (Paid post-dated apparently) and a bigger one on Monday.
Any of these gains in USD strength might be pissed away next week? Considering the good is bad and bad is good topsy turvy world of the markets, I wouldn't want to speculate.
The IMF might have to be called in on Greece here.

Don't ever bet against the US. In a rigged market go with the riggers, proceed with caution and jump ship before you anyone else jumps ship and you should stand in line to make a killing. S&P will continue to break new records and when the shit hits the fan, those in the know will short it and BAM so the riggers will continue to screw you over. House always wins!
