This may be a stupid question but I'm only a lay person: It's been demonstrated by Ed Snowden that the NSA has been intercepting nearly all digital communication including email for years. Why don't the republicans, if they are so filled with angst (see: Trey Gowdy) simply subpoena the NSA for all of HRC's emails? They most certainly have them right? Of course then that would be an explicit admission that everyone is being spied on and democrats and republicans alike aren't willing to go down that road. #kabukitheater
shhhhhh! we arnt supposed to know that. its amazing how much money and resources that have been diverted to this surveillance apparatus. and there hasnt been one single mention of a concrete detailed example as to how it benifited the american citizens.
Cards best used as leverage. If laid on the table is the career kill shot with potential collateral damage. I figure the Clintons have been around long enough to be really dangerous. We are watching Hillary being slowly "persuaded" with increasing intensity to quietly piss off.

Mr. Obama "America's smartest President" took my schoolbag."Because they'd have to admit what we already know. They'd have to admit that people in office are being spied on, along with all of the potential implications. They'd have to admit that they're a bunch of spineless bought off corrupt twats who don't make sure that the government follows its own laws. They'd have to admit that this is not the land of the free, despite the lyrics to the national anthom.

Two reasons I can think of......
1) The NSA has dirt on everyone so you don't go sending subpoenas to them wtihout out getting some payback in return (plus they won't comply with them anyway, no real oversight at all)
2) The Republicans want to be afforded the same ability to erase all records once they get in office too so are really only interested in "appearing" to be concerned about the issue and have no intent to fix it whatsoever
