I was shocked today by the absolute gaul of the Fed releasing a statement about Net Worth in America reaching record levels. Now I get that they are under extreme pressure to sell the story that everything is rainbows and butterflies. But surely they understand that working class Americans are going along with the story because they really don’t have any say in our nation’s policies anymore. That doesn’t mean they want it thrown in their faces that the Fed has spent 6 years now inflating the wealth of the top 10% so much that it actually lifts the total wealth of the nation’s citizens to record highs.
The ugly reality is that the bottom 80% of Americans experienced none of that gain. That’s right a big ole goose egg. And so when the Fed via its ass pamper boy, Steve Liesman, start banging on about the fact that some sliver of society is being handed extraordinary wealth while the working class has lost 40% of their net worth since 2007, well a big fuck you right back at ya bub! The Fed is very aware that the bottom 80% of Americans own less than 5% of US equity markets. And so the Fed is very aware that its manipulation of stock prices such that it creates immense unearned wealth to those in the markets doesn’t reach the bottom 80%. So why celebrate the results of the stock market price manipulation??
It is embarrassing that our policymakers are either that inconsiderate or that stupid to celebrate such a brutal dislocation between the haves and have nots. I don’t know what one can even say about the Fed making a celebratory statement like that today. It is somewhat beyond words. And really paints the picture as to how little thought goes into the lives and well being of the bottom 80%.
Just to give you something to compare and contrast the situation of the bottom 80% here in the US to counter the Fed’s celebration today. I want you to think about how lucky we are not being in one of the PIIGS nations of Europe. These are the nations that are essentially bankrupt and just hanging on by the kindness of the Troika. Glad we’re not there right?? Well allow me to show you a chart published by CNN Money some 8 months ago.
So there it is. While the average net worth of Americans is 4th in the world pulled up by the top 10%, the median net worth of Americans comes in the 19th spot. Yep, behind Spain, Italy and Ireland so 3 of the 5 PIIGS nations. Meaning the bottom 80% in these broke ass barely hanging on nations have more wealth than the bottom 80% of us here in America.
So I’d like to ask the Fed, is it that you just hate the working class here in America and thus like to torment them or are you truly that stuck up your own asses that you just cannot see the light? Celebrating the fact you did today is downright nasty you lowlife scoundrel pieces of shit. It’s akin to a family showing off and celebrating a new born baby at the funeral of another family’s child. It is just a very ugly thing to do. Even if it wasn’t meant to be malicious it looks very much like a giant FU.
And for Americans, why, please god tell me why is it that Americans are so willing to be shit on for so long without so much as a hint of standing up to these monsters that steal our wealth and pass it around their political class. Having grown up in Canada while all of my relatives were here in the US I was intrigued by the States. I used to think of Americans as an incredibly admirable people. The type of people that are confident, strong, intelligent and command respect. I really truly did. But having lived here now since 2001, what I see is a people that have rolled over on our backs. As long as we get a few belly rubs once in a while we’re happy to live without a hint of respect. We seem fine with being demeaned, controlled, robbed, enslaved and yes shit on by our political ‘superiors’.
Is the real Giant Con the ideal American? Was it just a made up concept sent out to the rest of the world in hopes we could instill a fear simply by portraying the notion of a truly formidable American? I really don’t have the answer. Perhaps at some point in time Americans really were a force to be reckoned with. And if that is the case then what a sad story to be told to the world 100 years from now. How a nation got fat, lazy, complacent, perhaps stupid and definitely lost all sense of self esteem.
Imagine the founding fathers looking down on all of this. Hell imagine those who fought on the beaches of Normandy looking down at what America has become. Knowing that they sacrificed everything just to hand the nation over to a group of foreign sociopaths. Imagine those men having to see that Americans no longer have any sense of dignity other than to yell loudly that “we are still great” kind of like that drunk in the corner that wants to fight everyone but can’t seem to find his legs to even stand up from his stool. How incredibly disheartening it would be for those WWII soldiers to see us now.
We have become nothing but a host to a group of political parasites that have thrived on our wealth and our strength. And they’ve watched us slowly die over time growing weaker and weaker. Less able to find the strength to uphold the duties entrusted to us. God, what a sad fucking story we are. Thanks Steve Liesman for rubbing shit in our eyes today. Hope you got a few clicks.
And for those of you that think I’m an ass for being so harsh on us, well stuff it. Get up off your stool you lazy drunk, shut your damn mouth and start fighting these political parasites like a damn man, like a damn American. I’m not the one stealing your retirement, stealing your income, stealing your wealth and stealing your freedom all while making myself wealthy and exonerated from all the laws that would put your ass in prison. If we are to unseat Bernays and remove the hands of his followers from our throats, we need to get everyone we know to see that graphic. If they're too dumb to understand it - explain it to them (it is amazing how few folks understand the difference between mean and median). Also, stop voting for any politician who spoons out the pablum of "American Exceptionalism". We aren't now and never were exceptional. Also, I recently listened to an interview with a psychological researcher who presented evidence that narcissism is on the rise in American children, driven in large measure by parents who tell their kids they are special, leading to anger and violence when those kids figure out that they are just special enough to flip burgers.
Actually, if you do not think America is exceptional you have not been paying attention to history. While I will say that entropy has overtaken our exceptionalism, it does and has existed. I could fill the page with the exceptional and unusual and bold things done and created in America.
The exceptionalism revolves around liberty, individual rights and self-selection. Back in 1787 when the Constitution was written, every major nation in the world was lead by a monarch who claimed divine rights and certain blood lines. Law still pretty much served the monarch and rulers and while the Magna Carta had been a great step forward, it was largely ignored or nullified.
As some other astute commenters have posted, the people who came to the U.S. before it was the U.S. were exceptionally courageous and many died along the way. They came primarily for liberty. For most of American history there has been a worldwide self selection that I find nearly Darwinian. People who were fearful and pessimistic stayed in the old countries for better or usually worse. They were not risk takers, adventurers, ideologues or even entrepreneurs. "Play it safe and sensible" or "You have no idea what you are getting into! Are you crazy?" would be more their style. So America self populated with many of the best from around the world. As the frontier moved West the process continued.
I would argue that this gave America a huge advantage. One of the characteristics was that Americans were not keen on being told what to do, how to live, where to live, and a host of similar issues. Imagine telling an American two hundred years ago that Congress has a 2,000 page bill to control when, how, why and under what circumstances you will see a physician. It also tells everyone else how to run a medical practice and comes with large new taxes, large numbers of enforcers and it is mandatory you buy a product, or else? They'd say, "Let's see what the 'or else' part is. Draw when you're ready." This is the essence of the Whiskey Rebellion.
If you look at sports, entertainment, science, techology, commerce, health and so on America outpaced every nation in the world who usually had a 500 to 1000 year head start. You cannot correct for population. It makes the differences more apparent. America dominates in most every category of significance and has the most innovation, either from here or for here. No one else comes close.
That is pretty exceptional. As we adopt ever more of the Leftist agenda that will all come to an end. Let's face it, we are pretty much the USSA, now and we are slightly behind the entropy that is Europe. The question, as posed indirectly by this article is whether or not we will tolerate the decline or do something about it.

This really just goes to show that America is another failed experiment: the experiment of considerably limiting government in the hopes that it would prevent the power-hungry from infiltrating the government it does have and grab more and more power for themselves.
Indeed, it was the idea of freedom that attracted so many people from other parts of the world to try it out and allowed foreign ideas to be innovated on (the freedom often came at the cost of the Indians, but let's not get into that). That was all well and good for awhile, but it was inevitable that the gains in wealth and ideas would only be sought out to be controlled by others.
So not only did it fail, but now this behemoth, which has used all the innovations of foreigners to build itself up, has become the conduit for which the entire world can be bullied. But something's gotta give, and it will sooner or later. It's time we stopped talking about the glory days of freedom in America. Those were VERY short lived (hint: LONG before anyone reading this was born). Rather than trying to simply return to how things were 200 years ago, maybe it's time to start thinking of ways to prevent this mess from coming about AGAIN.

I like the spirit of many of the posts here in the comments and many of the articles. However, there is a huge gaping hole or missing part of the conversation. Exactly, what is it we are rebelling against and what is supposed to replace it?
I suggest a statist-leftis and a libertarian-rightist might have very very different answers. Both could take the incomes distribution charts and concoct very different explanations of why it is happening and what the proper solutions would be.
Without propertly diagnosing the causes you are highly unlikely to come up with the right answers. It is like two doctors taking the same symptoms and making very different diagnoses and then prescribing very different therapies. One set of therapies may cure while the other may kill.

IntheMix96 correctly identifies the fundamental motivation of the political and bankster class...pedophiles. At least that is the conclusion I have come to and I have grown certain of it. Actually, I agree with the escape part of your reasons for smoking weed, I have always found deep introspection to be my no. 1 reason. Marijuana is a "cooling" drug, physiologically speaking, and allows ones mind and body to cool down. Now I don't know if the introspection is inherent in the plant characteristics or if it just affects me that way, but I find I'm able to think things from all sides, make up my own mind - you know, critically think, rather than react to an event or set of events - and that's what pot does for me. It also helps me wiht chronic pain due to a spinal cord injury.
Yup, weed does the same thing for me- makes you less pissed off and allows you to think more.

Update: I watched the full 40-point-plan movie. With the information contained, I'm not impressed. They don't specify any specifics of how anything will work and there's nothing I could see that would change the basic problems enabling the corruption we see in modern heirarchical human organizational structure.
If the idea is just that a company with certain charitable bylaws is to be created to fix everything, well, the problems with that are myriad and identical to what we see around us. There is no insurance of any trust at all. If there is some new idea that makes this all possible, well, then specify what that idea is.

Actually the Federal Reserve Bank didn't come into existence until 1913 (12/13/1913).
The passage of the 16th Amendment by Congress was on on July2, 1909, but not ratified until feb 3, 1913.
What you miss is that an income tax goes back even further, back to the Revenue Act of 1861 which was to pay for war expenses.
I am against an income tax (tax on labor). Taxing labor is slavery. And my comment further supports that Government created the problem. Government created this income tax (slavery) even decades before the FRB. And Government endorses and created the FRB that is easy to attack. Attacking the FRB is not solving the problem. The problem is the ones (government) that uses taxation as slavery and created the central bank.
