I love it when ZH'rs rally around Carlin. He had a nuanced view of the solution to the madness that we call the world today which did not involve mounting a unicorn and riding him through the free market fairy land.

He is one of the most prescient thinkers I know. He was talking about the Big Club before it began dismantling the middle class. It's no mistake that he didn't want to hand them the keys. You would think that people who see how right he was about so many things (before almost anyone else was talking about them), would give some credence to his views on libertarianism in its pure form.

P.S. George Carlin was a Progressive propagandist. Of course a Progressive would use him at every chance, because for the minutia of truth he pushed, he also pushed Social Justice BS the rest of the way.
Carlin was intelligent and funny, but hardly prescient. It was in the wake of the turbulent 60's that he hired Wald and De Blasio as consultants to craft an image that would appeal to a younger audience. He was a contemporary (fire)brand.
Well, that is some contradiction you have there, bashing the only people that would agree with him. I liked a lot of Carlin's stuff, but he really was just an eloquent professional asshole. And I mean that in a good way. He sold tickets by not liking anybody or anything. Doesn't mean he was a prophet or a sage. Just a comedian, a good comedian, but I don't take my political advice from comedians. You know what would totally rock? A debate/dialog between George Carlin and Sam Kinison. Score!! I'd throw in Dennis Miller but I'd probably have a heart attack. cheers.

You are correct that the Africans conducted the slave trade inside Africa, capturing & enslaving their own kind, BUT the whites imported them into America - this was a choice, NOT an obligation.
After the Africans were emancipated, they were denied EVERYTHING by the whites - what were these people supposed to do or become with no education, no jobs, no property ownership, no political participation/inclusion - were they supposed to be just good quiet obedient niggers staying out of sight in the background of white America ????
Now thanks to this original importation of the slaves and their exclusion from productive society, we have a HUGE population of failed people, a HUGE AND GROWING entitlement program to subsidize them, that has spread to include the EVEN LARGER and infinitely growing population of latino invaders piggy-backing on the "Great Society" entitlement parasite system.

I actually agree with most of what you wrote, and if you are trying to say that the entitlement welfare subsidy system is not a solution and actually making the problem worse, then I also very strongly agree with that blatantly obvious fact.
This thread got started by identifying who created the problem and what was the core cause of the American civil war, I rest my case.
The USA should never had slaves, but after having slaves, the only three viable solutions to the liberated slaves "problem" were:
1. Send them all back to Africa - they did not do this.
2. Kill them all, like the white christians almost did to the Native Americans - they did not do this.
3. Fully integrate them into American society as equals to whites in every regard - they did not do this.
The WORST approach was to try to segregate them and confine them in impoverished ghettos - the white christians did do this. And the times and values and politics changed to embrace the entitlement system, and the ex-slaves multiplied many fold, and now America has a HUGE permanent problem that is being greatly amplified by the Latin American invasion.
I don't see any viable solution to the problem now since the failed unsuccessful people (white, brown, black, etc) GREATLY outnumber the successful people, so the failed unsuccessful people will ALWAYS continue to vote for MORE AND MORE AND BIGGER AND BIGGER entitlement programs.

As I said waaaay back there, slavery was NOT the core cause of the War of Northern Aggression.
Various states wished to excercise their sovereignty (as stated in the Constitution) and the federals didn't want them to. THAT was the direct cause of the war.
Whether the various states were inhabited by despicable human beings is irrelevant to their sovereignty. As sovereign states, they had the RIGHT to secede and the bastards in DC decided to abrogate the Constitution to prevent it.
Lincoln emancipated the slaves hoping they'd rise up and help to defeat the Confederacy. He didn't give a rotund rodent's rectum about blacks. It was merely a tactic, not a lofty ambition to right a wrong. Truth is, northern whites had as much affinity for blacks as the "southern white vermin" you refer to and also regarded them as sub-human.
It was a different time with different mores. We have grown, evolved and have different mores now. Slavery was in its death throes even before Abe stepped in.
It's past time for blacks to suck that lower lip back in and get on with life. No one expects the past to be forgotten, but for heaven sakes let it go and let's get on with life together. My white forebears were poor white trash and owned nothing, little better off than the newly freed blacks. That's just the way it was, and there were far more like my people than like the plantation owners.

Carlin was such a genius. Seriously, someone should make a movie about a world in which everyone sees through BS like Carlin regularly did. Just think how different the world would become in short order if all of a sudden everyone on the planet started to see through BS as quickly and effectively.
