Thanks you rugged rowdy rascal. I used to love the fact everyone was out partying on my birthday and I usually jumped in for an all nighter with them ( being Irish helped). Now, just a nice scotch on the porch followed by some well seasoned fish tacos and chocolate gelato with port for dessert. In crazy Cali we can mix cuisines up and feel so sophisticated when the rest of the country laughs at us being Shitheads.

You know nmewn, you may have something there. Everyone, especially women, are just too fucking offended at EVERYTHING. Dear God, it's so damn irritating I could scream. I was at a cooperate shindig with Mr last week and his boss' wife is having a melt down because there are reems of baby seals dying on the beaches here. I made some subtly snide comment she should get off her ass and haul them away if the stench bothered her. Well, she came down hard on me saying it was global warming that caused this and was offended I was such a clueless dipshit. All the men looked at their laps and mr kicked the crap out of my shin under the table to snap me out of my next move which would have been to show her she was a Cali Shithead.
I feel so damn suppressed but I tend not to choose my battles wisely. I wish we'd meet again so I could finish the job. Hmmmm.... I think this coffee offered to me had Irish whiskey in it.

Well, this calls for a demure lowering of my eyes ending in my mischievous smile and a wink.
I had hoped I would have mellowed at this age but I really don't feel 54 at all. In fact, in some ways I feel wilder and less inhibited when I was 30. Having no patience with idiots and no respect for authority doesn't help matters considering the times we live in today. I am so thankful I do have my dear husband who is so much like me but has infinite patience and exceeds at the strategic chess approach to life. He's been at the same job for 32 years, surviving the shark infested corporate waters coming out ahead while I've been fired 5 times. I prefer the direct assault wheras he remains in the shadows and striking when they least expect it. Humbling really.
I once asked him why he stayed with me considering life with me is a roller coaster with no end. He told me I was the most alive, vibrant person he had ever met and I brought him to life being in my presence. I think that was a polite way to say I'm entertaining without delving in too deep. ;-)
Salute mrs N for me as a kindred spirit. We both have the love of great men that have stood by and respected us for quite some time. As we do them.

Did that with potato's a long time ago. Now i know know to work the magic with alpha amalayse (roasted barley) instead of the chemical stuff... Long column stills. Add to the mix used sherry or port barrels and a ittle time.. The potato ethanol wan't that bad. Clean scent and about 170 proof without molecular sieve...
Built a still when I was 16 while my folks weren't watching.
My mum made a lot of home made wine, so I grabbed a few bottles and ran 'em through (being careful regarding methanol - I did some research!)
Didn't taste too good, but definitely blew my hat off!
