Problem is most of the successful either directly or indirectly get it from the government also, as the government also protects the markets of the oligarchy. Just look around you at the successful people you know: likely they or their businesses thrive on government contracts or government protection. I happen to work for a bank, I work damn hard but am under no illusions about where the money indirectly comes from. Work in the health field? Defense? Big technology? Agrigulture? Utilities? Insurance? Same thing...
Unfortunately you only have to look at the state of America to realise that its president reflects that state of morass, hopelesness and decay.

By hating him you're playing into their hands; he exists to be hated. You blame every damn problem we have on the powerless figurehead in the White House, and if the revolution ever happens and you manage to capture him and string him from a lamp post you'll get drunk and congratulate yourselves on catching a big fish. Meanwhile the people who are giving him his orders will have already bought out the leader you replaced him with, and you get to find out that the new boss is the same as the old boss.
