Aren't all people thrilled that Obamacare has caused their insurance premiums to double, many people to have their existing, good, policies cancelled, and the IRS now in charge of their health care? Soon, with the big payment squeeze by the government for Medicare, we will be importing all of our doctors from Mexico and India. Doctors who can't speak English but they'll "work" for $12/hour. Thank you, Obama government.

Got my tax returns and see that even after making minimum deductions on my W-2, my accountant says I still owe over $5,000 "partly because of Obamacare." I have money deducted from my paycheck to pay for health insurance.
Am I gettting taxed because I have a " luxury policy", even though I have usual 5,000 deductibles and 60 dollar copays?

I paid the max penalty- which for me was like 352- or about 2/3rds of one monthly premium. My money will in turn be handed over to the health insurers who will use it to insure people who can't afford insurance like me. Like every other lie our government has cooked up- they call that my "shared responsibility" payment because it's my obligation to fund the health care needs of others.

If you earn less than 100% of the federal poverty level and your state hasn't expanded Medicaid, you're not eligible for the subsidies that would normally reduce the cost of the monthly health insurance premium for an Obamacare plan.
Then, if you don't buy an unaffordable Obamacare plan, the government keeps most or all of your tax return. You're welcome!
This is the fuck-you formula of all time. The whole prospect of fining someone for not buying something that he or she can't afford is sadistic.
Obamacare is essentially the government's way of forcing you to buy health insurance.
It gets even more outrageous, though. If you don't qualify for subsidies and you still can't afford health insurance, you have to fill out forms to qualify for an exemption from the insurance requirement. That exemption is the only way to avoid the fine. But the government will decide if they're willing to give you the exemption.
If you're lucky enough to qualify for insurance subsidies and can get health insurance through Obamacare, you'll find that the insurance comes with a high deductible. You first have to meet the deductible before your plan will begin covering your health care expenses... You're welcome!

It's 400%-not 100%- of the Federal Poverty level or around 45k. This year they get 1% of your taxable net income which was 352 for me. Among qualifying exemptions from the penaty is a utilities turn off notice. Just don't pay your utilities for 45 days or so- and then just before they turn your power and heat off- pay your bill. I am planning to do this in May. It should save me around 704 dollars on the 2% penalty next year. You can't make this shit up.

No one should provide health insurance not the government not your employer no can explain why my employer should have anything what so ever to do with my health care but I digress only insurance company's should provide insurance.

When I have to bring a kid to the doctor, we pretend that we don't have insurance. Just yesterday in fact.
Why? First of all, the local Pediatrician doesn't accept my UHC plan. And if don't have insurance, we get a 50% cash discount.
$75 for a 10 minute consult hurts a lot less than the $140 they would've charged me if I claimed to have insurance.
So what exactly am I getting for over $10k per year in premiums? Oh yeah, nothing.

So, where are the losses? It is armies of bureaucrats at Dr. offices filing papers with another army at Insurance companies. Medical is two warring bureaucracies making heat and wasting energy. It is also enormous regulatory burden…this burden supercharged with ambulance chasing lawyers and get rich quick- quackery schemes. These schemes have the effect of spreading costs onto everybody, and making economy inefficient.
More losses: Inability of economists and planners to understand that medical is a mixed market, and hence any rules/laws regarding this market should follow that template.
Government pretends medical is a pure inelastic market, and hence should be government owned, and private industry pretends medical is pure competition and fully elastic. Both sets of rentiers are wrong, and hence average person has to suck it up and pay.
Medical in U.S. is a circle jerk of rentiers trying to game the system so they can take unearned gains, meanwhile heavy costs are spread around through insurance premiums and cause high prices.
