Putin Security Council Slams Obama Attempts At "New World Order"

Tyler Durden's picture

Moscow — which may or may not have to nuke Denmark — says the US has adopted a national security strategy that is decidedly anti-Russian. Although attempts to prove how “isolated” Putin truly is on the geopolitical stage haven’t fared very well of late (what with Russian bombers refueling at former U.S. air bases and Putin plotting Eurasian currency unions) and although Washington’s experience with China’s AIIB membership drive seems to indicate it may be the US that is in fact isolated, The Kremlin doesn’t think The White House is likely to give up on its attempts to ostracize Russia any time soon.

From a Russian Security Council statement entitled "About The US National Security Strategy":

In the long term, the United States, in cooperation with its allies will continue the policy of political and economic isolation of Russia, including limiting its ability to export energy and the displacement of all markets for military products, while making it difficult for the production of high-tech products in Russia.

Putin's security council then proceeds to deliver a remarkably accurate description of Washington’s foreign policy aims including the desire to show off NATO military capabilities (on full display along the Russian border currently), installing puppet governments and propping them up with financial and military support (which is precisely what’s going on now in Ukraine as the US is set to provide military assistance and also financial assistance via a Ukrainian bond issue back by the full faith and credit of the US government), and preserving US hegemony by taking unilateral action across the globe at Washington’s behest (something the US does all the time):

The Strategy emphasizes the US desire to proceed with the formation of a new global economic order. A special place in this order should take a Trans-Pacific Partnership and transatlantic trade and investment partnership that will enable the US central position in the free trade zones, covering two-thirds of the world economy.

The armed forces are considered as the basis of US national security and military superiority is considered a major factor in the American world leadership. While maintaining the continuity of the plants to use military force unilaterally and anywhere in the world, as well as to maintain a military presence abroad...

Significant efforts by the US and its allies will be directed to the formation of anti-Russian policy states, with which Russia has established partnership relations, as well as to reduce Russian influence in the former Soviet Union.

Continue the policy of preserving the global dominance of the United States, increasing the combat capabilities of NATO, as well as to strengthen the US military presence in the Asia-Tihokeanskom region. Military force will continue to be considered as the primary means of ensuring national security and interests of the United States.

Becoming more widespread to eliminate unwanted US political regimes acquire advanced technology "color revolutions" with a high probability of their application in relation to Russia.

Thus, the strategy was developed on the basis of American exceptionalism, the right to take unilateral action to protect and promote the interests of the United States in the world and bears the active anti-Russian charge.

So all in all, the Kremlin looks to be hilariously spot-on with this assessment. Here’s a bit more from Russian News

Russian Security Council specialists say that by and large the US Strategy is based on the principle of US exclusiveness and assertion of the right to take unilateral action to press for US interests around the world and has a strong anti-Russian thrust.

Regarding the relationship Russia, the Security Council believes it is likely that the United States plans to continue its policy aimed at isolating Russia in the long term, including by imposing restrictions on opportunities of exports of oil and gas.

Uh oh Washington, it looks like they're on to you.

Putin is a thug, but at least he doesn't deny it.  And he has a good point when he opposes the new world order.  The big question is whether he would be this outspoken if Russia was part of or even leading the new world order.  That's how you separate the boys from the men.

Putin probably is a thug. He's the leader of a nuclear power. And the Russians weren't very nice in Chechnya, as I recall.

However, he's Russians' problem. He's not the one who will be throwing me into a cage for smoking the wrong kind of plant, or taxing me at 40% on value I created, or kissing Netanyahu's ass and gifting a shitload of weapons to Israel so they can incinerate some more Arab kids. He hasn't been fomenting revolution here, there, and everywhere and overthrowing governments to install puppets. And - unlike Bliar, Brown, Bush, Obama and Cameron - I'm not obliged to listen to his prattling all day on our Pravdas.

Our murderous clowns make Putin look Statesmanlike... but that doesn't mean he isn't what he is - a ruthless leader. Is he better for ordinary Russians than the previous leaders? Almost certainly. Is he keen on military adventurism? Doesn't seem to be. So, as leaders go, he gets a pass from me.

"However, he's (Putin) Russians' problem."

not quite only Russian. the article starts with the charming message the Russian Ambassador in Denmark had regarding missile shields, Danish naval vessels and nuclear exchanges

fact is that Russia has a resurgent nationalism. the phenomenon of nationalism as such seems sometimes to be a bit of a blind spot for many ZH commenters

our dear TheFourthStooge...Ing is fond of painting a picture of Putin or the Kremlin as the only "adults around". Sure, he is right, there is a lot of bullshit being spread about Russia. But this bullshit is being spread about nearly everything, too

there are two ways to cope with resurgent nationalism: either riding it, or stemming against it. the first is harder, and costs support (i.e. political capital)

imho Putin and his government prefer to ride it. his choice, but our problem in Europe. a problem we faced many times, then if a military power rejects the existing status-quo borders, it is usually very vague about where the future borders ought to be

so... no. I am very happy of reading 4thStooge setting facts right. But I disagree on the Russian government being "the only adults around". This is pure imperialism, the straight continuation of Imperial Tsarist policies

Having Russian Nationalists talking about "NovoRussyia" and not saying anything against it is riding nationalism and imperialism... against previous solemn promises (aka treaties)

Crimea is all about projection of power abroad. It is a nationalist and imperialist move. It's the Great Game. I can accept this... traditionalism, but not the claim of "the only adults around"

Russia feeling encircled is nothing new, btw. The search for a "breakout" towards a warm-water harbour was the main driver for the Great Game. Britain's biggest fear (real or imagined) was that Russia would invade India or Persia (today's Iran) or the whole ME in order to reach that goal

We western europeans would prefer a softer, more cooperative approach. We would also prefer the US to be less aggressive, though. And from a western continental european point of view, we would prefer to have the UK being less aggressive, too

meanwhile... Russia is our problem, too

bla bla... Russian nationalism... bla bla... imperial tsarists policies... bla bla... Russia is our problem.

Who do you think you fool?

The US Government (with help from Western Europe) has been the ONLY power meddling in everybody else business worldwide by force. From soft power: CIA, PSYOPs, selective assassinations, government overthrows, and so on; to hard power: direct military invasion of other countries. Since AT LEAST several decades ago it's the ONLY ONE doing it in a global scale (the soviets were playing the game also up until the eighties).

Seriously, who do you think you fool?

The US Government is the ONLY actual threat to worldwide peace in recent history. Which is a paradox, because Americans are the nicest and most respectful people I've ever met (I know "All generalizations are false"). And by the way, I assume you're from Europe, Americans are way WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY more polite than Europeans, who don't know how to greet people when entering in a room, or say some very basic things like "excuse me ...", "... thank you", "oh, I'm sorry" (I'm talking day-to-day interactions).

"Thus, the strategy was developed on the basis of American exceptionalism, the right to take unilateral action to protect and promote the interests of the United States in the world and bears the active anti-Russian charge."

Using the phrase "American Exceptionalism" in this context is a perversion of the proper meaning of the phrase:

"American exceptionalism is the theory that the United States is qualitatively different from other nations.[2] In this view, U.S. exceptionalism stems from its emergence from the American Revolution, thereby becoming what political scientist Seymour Martin Lipset called "the first new nation"[3] and developing a uniquely American ideology, "Americanism", based on liberty, egalitarianism, individualism, republicanism, democracy and laissez-faire. This ideology itself is often referred to as "American exceptionalism."[4]

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_exceptionalism

Nothing in there about "unilateral action to promote US interests in the world". It is a shame that the original concept has been misappropriated.

Russia invade Ukraine?  AFAIK Ukraine was essentially the border region of the Russian empire.  Hence the name Ukraine.  When they were dividing and conquering the Russian empire, they gave Ukraine the name Malorossiya/Little Russia.

Going back even further, different regions were  controlled by different (but in league with each other) military orders/hordes (yes, the two words are related).  The White Horde, the Golden/Great Horde, the Blue Horde...

http://www.latimes.com/world/la-fg-c1-russia-ukraine-burying-bodies-2015...

Yes, I suppose EVERY Russian killed in the Ukraine and buried back home was a "mercenary", it is possible - and just about as likely as rolling "heads" a million times straight - but then, that would imply a crooked coin, wouldn't it?

Don't deceive yourself - Putin is looking out for Russian perceived interests with Russian soldiers, the same way we have in the past.

It wouldn't matter if the Ukraine voted to become part of the Japanese Empire - Russia would still invade, and feel justified in doing so.

But to deny reality is to blind yourself, willingly.

And the eastern Ukraine was "settled" by Russians imported during the Soviet era, to prevent Russia EVER losing their warm-water port in Sevastopol. They were not "natives", and the Ukraine would be justified in expelling them as occupying forces.

But you'll never recognize that either. Downvote all you like, Putin loyalists on ZH - it doesn't matter either way to Putin, nor to me.

I used to believe that was a good thing but the meme of the rugged individualist/hero was a set-up for self-exposure and a tool used to weaken us. The individual without Constitutional support has no power. The hive mentality now rules because the former branches of government failed one by one to abide by the Constitution.

One individual can't respond to political party lobbyists doling out billions to Congress, lawyers and courts openly perverting the rule of law or national news monopolies burying the voices of the people with false information, biased reporting and a lack of objectivity or lying by omission. The last hope of the individual was the citizen journo reporting uncensored at a grassroots level on a free and open internet. That dream died. The poor fellow's about to be crushed by the fifth column in concert with the newest branch of the MIC, Homeland Security, under the guise of moar regulation.

IMO, any given idea has a useful life span.  The difficulty comes in recognizing when ANOTHER idea will in fact be MORE useful to society.   Like for eg. when  a country undergoes revolution.  The revolution itself serves a purpose.  It is not the desired end-state.

For the modern day, we have all grown up with capitalism.  Thats fine.  Except, we may come to realize we need to FIRST do a debt RESET/jubilee, before we can have useful and effective capitalism economy once more!

Except we're no longer talking about an idea. The idea was incorporated into law 200 years ago. We are talking about the perversion of the rule of law and other illegal activities for the benefit of a few, and coincidentally enabled by the fourth estate. Neither the idea nor the truth of it has ever changed. Even the idea of fiat money works if there's accountability along with restricted control over the creation of it. It used to be that moar money was only created when GNP increased. That made goods and labor, the tangible and intangible assets, a zero sum game with debt and equity their counterpoint.  The creation of money without finished product or productivity has made it a negative sum game, and guess who's going to end up holding the bag with the hole in it?

You've hardly seen capitalism - you've seen oligarchy, a distant, deviant relative. Under capitalism, I could open a business without spending thousands on "licenses", "inspections" and "permits", all designed to reduce or eliminate competition. I wouldn't have to worry about being arrested for violating obscure laws written to satisfy some pressure group or pad someone else's pockets - I could sell to anyone I wanted, anything I could make, responsible only for quality and quantity of goods produced for payments rendered.

Read up on "Operation Choke Point", where unelected bureaucrats decide your business is toast because you fill a need they don't want to admit they created. Brush up on all the laws that forbid you from doing all sorts of things, from selling to certain countries or competing with the government for useful and necessary services. You've hardly even HEARD about capitalism - what you've grown up under is a poor, weakened shadow of it. And they are trying to stamp what's left of it out. I can't choose NOT to pay SS taxes, even if it's a fraud, a lie and will be insolvent before I can draw against it - but I do have to cut a multi-thousand check (that I can ill afford) in two weeks, or face the wrath of the State. In addition, I have to buy "health insurance" per compulsion which probably will bankrupt America, and I can't opt out of that either. Does that sound like capitalism, free competition and choice to you?

Once we have the revolution and the subsequent / preceding Crunch, perhaps you'll get to see capitalism. But no, you've not seen it since 1913 - or earlier.

"Hijacked by" as outlined in the later comment below by Chupacabra-32, as well as also stated in another reply by Fun Facts ... The vast majority of comments, and the voting patterns on those comments, demonstrate that most readers of Zero Hedge are aware of the issues behind "Washington's" or the "USA's" criminally insane foreign (& domestic) policies, which are that the government of the USA has been "hijacked by" the best organized gangs of criminals, which have successfully applied the methods of organized crime to the American political processes, to the point where the so-called "government of the USA, located in Washington" HAS ALMOST NOTHING TO DO WITH THE INTERESTS OF THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

There is almost nothing but organized crime, surrounded by controlled opposition, (which kind of political puppets, of course, included President Obama.)

FOLLOW THE MONEY TO ITS SOURCE, THROUGH THE FUNDING OF THE POLITICAL PROCESSES ... However, AFTER doing THAT, there are no practical political solutions. The only plausible future is for a society which has become terminally sick and insane to commit collective suicide. The established systems are almost inconceivably crazy and corrupt, and automatically getting worse, faster, while there is NOBODY that can compete with those who ALREADY have the power to create the public "money" supply out of nothing, and so, the world systems are almost totally dominated by a collective group of trillionaire mass murderers, to which there is no effective opposition that is possible, since that group of trillionaire mass murderers is able to control the publicly significant, apparent opposition to its core systems of triumphant, runaway organized crime, being able to dominate the political processes, to create vicious spirals of being able to back up lies with violence, which criminal insanities have NO SOLUTIONS WITHIN THE ESTABLISHED SYSTEMS!

And, as another particular example to illustrate how the vicious spirals of the funding of the political processes makes resolving these issues any better become practically impossible:

https://consortiumnews.com/2015/03/20/a-family-business-of-perpetual-war/

"... the Family Kagan has almost a self-perpetuating, circular business model – working the inside-corridors of government power to stimulate wars while simultaneously influencing the public debate through think-tank reports and op-ed columns in favor of more military spending – and then collecting grants and other funding from thankful military contractors. To be fair, the Nuland-Kagan mom-and-pop shop is really only a microcosm of how the Military-Industrial Complex has worked for decades: think-tank analysts generate the reasons for military spending, the government bureaucrats implement the necessary war policies, and the military contractors make lots of money before kicking back some to the think tanks — so the bloody but profitable cycle can spin again. The only thing that makes the Nuland-Kagan operation special perhaps is that the whole process is all in the family."

That's a pretty good assessment of what US would like to do when it comes to foreign policy. Unfortunately, with US now practically bankrupt, there is a growing gap between its wishes and its abilities in every field (including foreign policy and military). Most of the American foreign policy of late has been a show of shadows projection, where the shadow looks awfully bigger than the real thing. But it's a losing game that fools nobody anymore, except (maybe) some suckers in Eastern Europe.

Finally about that "war", yes we can start one, but only to lose it with "extreme prejudice". One can only imagine what life in North America would look like, afterwards...

Let's hope not. Putin seems to be following Art of War to the letter, and as such may be (correctly) regarded as a "moderate" style of leader.

Let's not conveniently forget that there are plenty of very hard-liners in the Russian Military, who are definitely not amused by current Western actions and propaganda, many of these are known to be at least "interested" in restoring all the old Soviet Union.

So, if we all want to delay WW3 (Nuclear Edition) as long as possible, maybe we all should be hoping that Mr Putin lives a very long life, 'cause the potential consequences of his replacement (by one of the above), are definitely not compatible with "World Peace" (whatever that means these days!)

Dumpty one

Russia has gone on the offensive in the Baltic, warning Denmark that if it joins Nato’s missile defence shield, its navy will be a legitimate target for a Russian nuclear attack.

“I don’t think that Danes fully understand the consequence if Denmark joins the American-led missile defence shield. If they do, then Danish warships will be targets for Russian nuclear missiles,” said Mikhail Vanin, the Russian ambassador to Denmark, to the Jyllands-Posten newspaper.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/denmark/11487509/Russia...

You bought the lie that the "Missile Defense Shield" is a defensive mechanism.  And that Zio-preemptive strikes are defensive when contrived by the Heebs. Aggressive when struck at Israel by anyone else.

Today we learn from Jabba the Yenta that it always was a defense against 'first use' by Russia.
