Middle East Proxy War: Presenting The Massive "Decisive Storm" Coalition
The biggest news of the day is the start of the second proxy war in the past year (the first one of course being the Ukraine civil war which is just a chess game between the west, mostly the US with Europe as a reluctant second fiddle, and the Kremlin) overnight in Yemen, where as we reported yesterday a coalition led by Saudi Arabia and backed by the US has launched an airborne assault on Yemen's Houthi rebels at the request of the self-exiled government (at last check Yemen's president was in Oman), which confronts the Suuni states led by Saudi Arabia, against the mostly Shiite militia, which has the broad support of Iran.
Who is in this coalition, aptly named "Decisive Storm" (one hopes not by the same person who was responsible for "Desert Storm")? The following map from Al Arabiya should explain.
It is very likely that more nations will enter the conflict, although there is a possibility the "war" may be shorter than expected: Arabiya also notes there are reports that top Houthi leadership Abdulkhaliq al-Houthi, Yousuf al-Madani, and Yousuf al-Fishi were killed, and head of the Revolutionary Committee for the Houthis, Mohammed Ali al-Hothi, was wounded.
Considering the most levered asset class to the Yemen war is oil, a prolonged war is what all those who are bullish oil would prefer, and as such it would certainly be in the Military Industrial Complex' best interest to have drawn out conflict rather than one which fizzles quickly with the death of a few key Houthi individuals.

I find it interesting that all the countries on that map are mentioned in some ancient texts and tablets from 2,000 years ago about a large scale war involving Islam and Israel as the main focus.

I find it interesting that IRAN is the largest text on the map. 'Interesting' in the sense that the spin on this war is the exact one Israel and the U.S. congress have been bleating about: Iran is an existential threat to the world. Even the neuro-linguistic technique of getting everyone to repeat the mantra of "IRANIAN-backed Houthi rebels" must be destroyed.
Nobody here seems to remember when the MSM was claiming IRAN backed al Qaeda in Yemen. Now they're claiming IRAN is mysteriously backing the Houthi militia. Pretty soon, we'll all hear how IRAN is backing Occupy Wall Street and IRAN is behind the removal of the marshmallow shooting stars in Lucky Charms cereal.
The White House, Congress and the CIA are all pissing in their pants because Houthis apparently got their hands on some 'secret intel' and passed it on to the Iranians. I wouldn't doubt if this whole 'war' is damage control for minimizing some horrible truth the U.S. is trying to suppress.
In fact, the MSM is going overboard in a peculiar fashion here. The entire purpose for this supposed 'war' seems to be to associate Iran to Yemen and the Houthi rebels. Of course, no MSM outlet is bothering to point out that Yemenis of every faith hate their corrupt U.S. puppet president Hadi and want to get rid of him.

Ok, I can believe it is possible some DEEP DARK SECRET info of earth shattering proportions was held for the US by the Yemen govt.. Well, not really. Maybe just what we already know. As a former Infantry guy, I am in agreement with what you say. Enter a war only as a last resort, but when you enter into one, kill everybody, until you run out of people to kill. Then, populate the area with your settlers. The military is hamstrung by politically imposed ROE.
and taking it one step up, if one has to enter war as a last resort, which assumes you are about to come under attack or are under attack, then use every advantage you have and end it as quickly as possible - ie, bring out the 'big guns' - which means with today's shadow weaponry any war can be over in 10 minutes
