The "archduke" story was made up by the British/American banksters. WWI really started in 1870 when Germany united and defeated France in the Franco-Prussian War and became a challenger to the British (later American) empire. For the next 42 years (that is exactly 1912) the two groups jockeyed back and forth with the Anglo-Americans doing everything they could to suppress the growth of German influence/power and mainly to keep Germany under their thumb. The last straw took place in Morocco when the British knifed the Germans after dangling Morocco in front of them to keep the Germans out of North Africa. The  Germans realized that if they didn't fight they would be forever British/American slaves. They immediately began preparing for war. The leading German scholars teach this view and the offical German documents verify it. The "archduke" business is nonsense. It would allow me to sleep better if ZH readers, by and large a thoughtful group, would get this straight.

Friedman from stratfor.com, a widely followed thinktank, recently in a speech openly talked about the necessity to drag Germany and Russia via Ukraine into a war against each other, since that has been the practiced "successful" strategy for more than 200 years by the City of London and New York. He said Russia's resources and Germany's efficiency for the Angloamerican banksters would be an unbeatable alliance.

And that's the good thing! The bad thing? Well, the sheeple do not listen and are not interested in. That's the real reason why these forces still are able to do, what they have been doing for much too long. The stupidity and ignorance of the people is soo huge, that one can tell them the truth, they would reject it and prever to believe the comfortable lies - how enlightened and how intelligent they were, for example.

You have to be pretty stupid to believe the Germans will fight the Russians again, after they got beaten to an inch of their life in WWII by same Russians. Alas, such an idea is telling of how detached from reality our elites have become. If Stratfor (an institution with some common sense, relatively speaking) can seriously float such an albatross, I hate to imagine what's in the minds of the morons working for CIA or State Dept (for example). This is the real tragedy of modern America, the one which will be its downfall: too many ignorant fools in too many high places...

All the major wars of the past 2000 years have been different factions of the Old Roman Empire vying for control. WWI was Caesar vs. Caesar (Eastern Tzar vs. Western Kaiser (the "second Reich" or "Rome").

The branch of the family that had set up shop in the British Isles (in the early 1700's) took umbrage, and in what was essentially a massive family tiff (that killed millions), succeeded in coming out on top, while arranging for the Eastern Caesar to meet an untimely end in a mine shaft with his family (thus ending that particular challenge to the title).

WWII was that pesky Visigothic upstart trying for a third time ("Third Reich/Rome").

Rome never fell, it simply changed its spots and set up franchises to run its holdings. I swear, history is not the strong-suit of most folks. Breadth of vision of near-sighted goldfish.

On a long enough timeline, its all the same story, with the same players. Only the names are changed to protect the guilty.

I will post it to my minds vault. Much of what was supposed to be self evident very often is revealed later for something it wasn't. Usually, in todays America if a lie can festor for more than 6 weeks it will metabolize into the truth. If it is found  later that it wasn't the truth than it will be irrelevant since it lies in the past and the present state of Kardashian is more important anyway. The history of Germany's role in both the first and second wars is nothiing like the winners, those who write the history said that it was. Interesting that Germany has risen to be the economic boss of Europe once again without firing a shot. Being villainized for the last 70 years has been a wound on the German Psyche but, as we now observe being defeated in a battle or war does not mean victory cannot still be had.

A very cogent response. I would hazard that most of what is taken for "truth" is simply the contextual filter of the current collective bias.

It is the curse of every generation to presume that their grasp of the "bigger picture" is the penultimate one. This is in part due to the brevity of human existence, as well as the "Distant Mirror Fogging Effect" that occurs the further and further a society travels from the particular experience or experiences being recalled.

The root meanings of words don't change, but people's comprehension of the roots does. Dig for the etymology, and you will find surprising things.

The following is an excellent article:

Care to cite a single professional linguist who agrees with this gem: "The root meanings of words don't change".

Did you train in continental semiotics ... 500 years ago?

What exactly is this substance of words that is immutable? How and by what process are they fixed, if they cannot be changed? What happens when languages and dialects merge and split?

The peanut gallery is dying to read your revolutionary thesis.

Sun, 03/29/2015 - 14:57 | 5939443 N3mo

Etymology reveals the true character of words. For example:

"Vote"

Most people are under the mistaken impression that this word means "choose," "select," or "decide."

"Vote" means: "wish, swear, or pledge." In other words, to consent. There is nothing in the meaning of this word having to do with choosing. The agreed-upon meaning in the modern era is irrelevant. Legally, the word's character has not changed. Legalese (a separate language), does not care for what people "assume" a word means.

I recommend the Online Etymological Dictionary for an eye-opening experience: etymonline.com

Unlike you, I won't speculate on your literacy, or familiarity with history. I will say, I have not only opened thousands of history books...I took the time to read them, and consider what the words said. Anyone can "open" a book.

If you wish to be taken seriously in any adult discussion, please become familiar with the Trivium. You are attempting to wield rhetoric alone whilst completely neglecting your grammar and logic.

I am not posting in order to gain "popularity." In fact, I would sincerely hope to see as many downvotes as upvotes, since it means what I am writing is CHALLENGING the prevailing assumptions and memes.

Simply following the ruts requires no thought. It was the pre-modern version of cruise control. No thought required, but it wouldn't take you anywhere you hadn't been a thousand times.

The times call for different patterns of CRITICAL THINKING. Not just passively taking in the pablum that passes for history, but flipping it on its head.

History is written by the victors, because it makes good marketing for the next generation.

Linguistics is different from etymology. Linguistics focuses on the genetics of a language as a whole, and how it CHANGES. Etymology focuses on the ROOTS of WORDS themselves. Forestry vs. botany, perhaps would be a good comparison.

I admit I should have set the configuration space of the discussion. The ROOT MEANINGS of LEGALISE in particular do not change.

And I knew a "professional linguist" once...nice girl, just a shame about her lifestyle choice.

@tbd108---The factual and very ugly story of WW1 has just begun to unravel. Every story that was fed to us from 1914 onwards amounted to a heap of murderous lies. It was a central banker bloodfest.

The Archduke's planned murder was only the trigger. The planners already had the European nations tied together through self defeating treaties, so when one declared war on another the rest were obliged to join. That's why the IRS/Fed were hatched at the same time--one to rip us off and the other as a slush fund to promote NWO games. Like the $5 billion Nuland donated to Ukraine so as to ignite war.  Who authorized that sum so quickly? Does it matter? Since when does DC need authorization to do anything?

Not one shot was fired on German soil, and the Kaiser proposed a peace treaty in 1916, but London and the US Fed freaked because they had not yet conquered Europe. Enter concubine Wodrow Wilson. The warmongers had a little chat with him and before you could say "Lafayette we are here"  the US military was rounded up and sent to finish the job. The cover story was big, bad Germans, but the truth is that it was all for the NWO psychos.

During all that time goods from all over the British Empire got shipped to Stockholm then down through Denmark en route to....Germany. Britain supplied the land locked Germans even as they shot the Brits. But then again, since when did The City give anyone the silly idea that it was loyal to Britain. This was documented by Brit. Adm. Consett who observed curious shipping transfers of British goods to Germany from his post in Stockholm. If you never heard of him now you know why.

The object of the game was to collapse the four Empires in one fell swoop, consolidate and control all currencies, and alter European identity and culture. That millions would suffer violent death in the process was of absolutely no concern to the central bankers and bought off polititians. The most coveted prizes then and now were Russia and the Middle East. That was how the USSR was created, and how the Ottoman Empire was destroyed and artificial lines drawn on a map with utter disregard for local ethnic history and tribal loyalties.

Having shaken off its DC fed Bolshevik parasites and now growing in strength, Russia is once again the target of depraved war mongers in pursuit of the fundamentally stupid goal of controlling the world. In recent years Middle East communities have been trying to take their rightful places amid other independent nations to the dismay of DC, hence the ghastly DC destruction of Moslem nations and murders of their inhabitants.

Our leaders are like monkeys on crack at the controls.

If Germany would've stayed uit of it, they would've taken the lead, economically, and eventually competed with the Royal Navy. But they got suckered in.

There is no way the central bankers would have included the King of England for a heist this big. His cousin was Tsar Nicholas--their mothers were sisters. Furthermore central bankers hate Monarchs as they are representations of cultural identity which they also hate.  Do you suppose the term multi-culti evolved naturally? No, it is part of a long term plan to eliminate various cultures and all their inherant and centuries-old identities, loyalties, and differences.

The European Monarchs were being murdered one after the other since the turn of the century. They probably allowed the British royals to live since their main rat nest is The City and they might not have been able to contain the chaos without the King/Queen.

Also it is unlikely that the King knew that British head of Intelligence William Wiseman was actively working with his good buddy Max Warburg who was head of German Intelligence. Wiseman went to work at Warburg's bank after the War. Furthermore, Max's brother Paul assisted in the creation of the Fed.

Another failurous article, promising much in the title but only delivering the weekly "be afraid of Iran" cartoonish drivel. As predicted.

This delusion is one of the major causes of tension today in the West. Amazing how US citizens are able to cling to pure fantasy when they are surrounded by a contradictory reality.

But hey, if you can make money and nicely by telling propaganda, fantasy, why bother spoiling it by telling facts?

Spoiler alert:

US and Israeli intelligence admit that Iran has no nuclear weapon program.

IAEA inspectors have been monitoring Iran's nuclear research for decades.

The sanctions imposed against Iran violate the UN charter.

For more than a decade, Iran has made conciliatory offers of cooperation and transparency which exceed their obligations under the NPT, including asking for US scientists to participate with them as partners in their nuclear research.

The governments of Iran and other nations have made multiple attempts to resolve diplomatically any outstanding issues or concerns, and every such effort was scuttled by the US government.

But what? Fantasy, propaganda lose their magic, they have to be renewed. Facts, a different story.

Yes, zh posts plenty of shitty hopelessly warped articles, but a cartoon suggesting Obama is about to end up with a huge sea of flames dropping in all around him, if he takes on Iran, is not really one of them. Who The F cares?! Like the last two, it will be fought in Europe. No country except the USA has the ability to project force. So, sorry, no Red Dawn scenarios. This is a big, fat, yawner.

And last war of the modern age? I seem to recall something about the first part of the last "Wonderful ("Great") War" being referred to as "The War to End All Wars" as well. The third iteration would be yet another rehash, but fought with slightly more modern weapons. So, no. Won't be the last war of the modern age. Optimism springs eternal.

WW III will be fought on numerous fronts (Europe included), but the apex will be in the Middle East, and the US and its allies will not be the victor. In addition, this war will not be fought (for long) with Air Force and Navy- they will be the first casualties of WW III. This war will be fought by boots on the ground.

"I heard the size of their army, which was 200 million mounted troops." - Revelation 9:16

Iran along with Russia, China and other allies will provide the overwhelming numbers of foot soldiers to fulfill that prophecy.

The US and its allies are the King of the North, Iran and its allies are the king of the South:

Sorry, but despite increased accuracy, the payloads are tiny. A Tomahawk carries a half ton warhead. That's nothing. A single B-17 carried several times more HE than that.

The largest explosive device mankind currently has (provably) is the MOAB FAE. Requires a large SLOW delivery system. Good luck getting that into the target zone.

The days of entire cities being razed (unless by arty strikes) are over.

And this whole argument that airpower/missiles can win the war alone...well, I would point out the Indochina experience. To successfully pacify a country, you have to put boots on the ground. If you believe otherwise, point out an example.

And how exactly would "the Russians" wipe us off the map? THEY CANNOT INVADE. NO RED DAWN POSSIBLE. Sorry, Wolverine wanna-bees.

There are zero hypersonic terminal attack missiles in service today (their tests are easily detected globally too). Look up the general military definition of hypersonic, as it apparently means something completely different from what you think it means.

There are a couple of countries developing prototypes and none of them are weapons. They are experimental only, and very immature technologies at that and will be at least a decade before they appear in wide service, probably closer to two decades in fact.

Even re-entering MIRVs do not descend through the atmosphere at hypersonic speed into the troposphere, where almost all air combat occurs, and 100% of ground attack occurs. Plus even descending manevering MIRVs are fairly reliably intercepted these days, by several systems which are fielded now in very large numbers.

Also, unless the MIRVS are solid WHA (Tungsten Heavy Alloy), they cannot pack sufficient kinetic energy to cause any significant damage. The problem with small payloads is magnified even further.

FAE warheads require a parachute deployment system, and a slow descent speed. The laws of physics are immutable.

Please elaborate. How do you see it playing out? There are (currently) only two ways to get troops to a distant theatre of war: ships or planes. Which of these options will be a plausible way to deliver not only the troops to CONUS, but their logistic tail?

I am a realist, not given to fantastical alarmist speculations ungrounded in provable examples. You imply that WWIII will somehow be different than the previous two iterations.

With the exception of measured improvements in technology and equipment (comms, logistics, medical care, armor, sensors), there have been no major FUNDAMENTAL changes to the way wars are fought. Maneuver in the battlespace (be that political, social, financial, electronic, or literal) to negate the opponent's will/ability to fight.

If you disagree, please cite demonstrable examples. Flinging doody and running away with your tail between your legs does not an argument make.

There are 5 (minimum) "mineshaft" caves designed for the elites to hide during the next big one. Of course, we all know that there are thousands of miles of underground maglev tunnels, but none are open to us.

You will be pleased to know that the Fed and Treasury have their personalized bunker called Mt. Pony.

I read a few years ago that some of our enemies have prepositioned suitcase nukes planted all over the USA. Good luck getting to your bunker Mr. Yellen and Mr. Lew.

Believe what we want, but I read a great line this week, "Conspiracy Theories were once termed Investigative Reporting". Take your choice of Conspiracies or Controlled Propaganda.

The Nobel Prize Winner has bombed seven Muslim countries - Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan and Pakistan,  destabilized Ukraine and attempted a coup in Venezuela:

Today, the world’s greatest single campaign of terror entails the execution of entire families, guests at weddings, mourners at funerals. These are Obama’s victims. According to the New York Times, Obama makes his selection from a CIA “kill list” presented to him every Tuesday in the White House Situation Room. He then decides, without a shred of legal justification, who will live and who will die. His execution weapon is the Hellfire missile carried by a pilotless aircraft known as a drone; these roast their victims and festoon the area with their remains. Each “hit” is registered on a faraway console screen as a “bugsplat”.

The “War on Terror” is a Big Lie, ISIS is “Made in America”

March 10, 2015

n the conference organised by Dr. Mahathir’s Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF), the speakers insisted that jihadist groups such as al-Qaeda and the Islamic State were funded by the US and its allies, which included the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Israel.

“They say Muslims are terrorists, but it just so happens that terrorists are Made in the America. They’re not the product of Muslim society, and that should be abundantly clear to everyone on this floor,” said Dr Michel Chossudovsky, the University of Ottawa’s Emeritus Professor of Economics.

The so-called war on terrorism was fabricated by the US and its allies to expand their global hegemony, according to a number of academics at the International Conference on New World Order presided by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today.

Obama obviously doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground to begin with so it's hard to tell if he's just stupid, naive, incompetent, evil or all of the above. The only thing that pea brained string bean cares about his having his name attached to moments in time whether they're good or bad. He epitomizes the celebrity politician, any publicity is good publicity.

In a couple of years, he'll walk away with the country in tatters, write more memoirs that his groupies will lap up like a horse at a water trough in the desert and rake in tens of thousands per speaking engagement like Billary. Personally, I hope he chokes on his "wife's" d***.

Look at what has happened. Israel is more surrounded by its great enemy, Iran, which begins to gain respect by defeating its foe ISIS. Walls that kept Iran contained have now been removed, especially as the time approaches for the signing of the nuclear treaty.

In its foolishness, the West has refused to identify the real power brokers of the Middle East, Russia, Iran and all who join with them. They will supplant other groups. Iran will be able to put down roots in territories where it had no power. Once it confirms its footholds, no one will be able to remove its presence and Israel will be more threatened than ever.

All of this moves up the timetable. Not just moves it up but speeds it along. These events should never have happened. America has not been vigilant and has completely abandoned its true role. It opens doors that for years were kept closed, and it closes doors that for years were kept open.

All is reversed. Past wisdom is set aside. Instead, there are clever words and a treaty that will do nothing to halt Iran’s nuclear program, but will furnish Iran a privileged place on the world stage.

The results from the Iran negotiations will be filled with confusion. Each side will offer its own interpretation and the safeguards will not be securely put in place. In this way, the world will continue down its road of darkness, but at a much greater speed. It will head toward the very center of evil, when the world will be confronted with the unthinkable – nuclear arms in the hands of a terrorist super power.
The internal political protests will be stilled and Israel will seem to be out of step and marginalized.

The West has chosen to walk down a very dangerous and frightening road. This decision will paper over truth and pretend to produce a document of peace. There are many steps until all is signed. All the obstacles have not yet been removed, but the momentum to reach an agreement will sweep away the remaining difficulties.

http://kingworldnews.com/paul-craig-roberts-the-united-states-is-broke-and-europe-looks-to-china-as-insane-u-s-policymakers-push-for-war/  With people around the world worried about the escalating conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, today former U.S. Treasury official, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, warned King World News that the United States is broke and Europe is looking to China as insane U.S. policymakers push for war. Eric King:  “Dr. Roberts, the Chinese-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has made tremendous inroads (with the Europeans).  As you know, the UK, France, Italy, etc, joined.  Countries are leaving the United States in droves here and looking to the East and saying, ‘Look, we understand you are protesting Washington DC, but we don’t hear you because we have to be part of this (AIIB) — your thoughts on that.” Dr. Paul Craig Roberts:  “That’s another example of where the world has decided that serving Washington doesn’t pay.  And so the kind of enslaved, vassalage behavior of other governments toward Washington seems to be drawing to an end….
