Is This The Real Reason Putin & Xi Dislike The West?
When it comes to salary levels among world leaders, there is tremendous variation across the globe. Nobody earns as much as Singapore's prime minister, though. U.S. President Barack Obama earns $400,000 every year, quite a distance short of Lee Hsien Loong but still very high by international standards, while Angela Merkel follows with $234,400. Russian President Vladmir Putin's annual salary amounts to $136,000. That's still substantially more than Xi Jinping, China's leader, who earns just $22,000 every year.
So is this why Xi and Putin are pissed?
And of course, no one likes The Singaporean...

I don't have a problem paying anybody a salary-- even a munificent one-- but I am completely opposed to them drawing a nickel in retirement benefits of any sort once they are gone.
Oh, and any book or speech deals that arise due to their service to the country belongs to the country.

Yes it works. I live and work here as an expat. This was a policy put in place by Lee Kwan Yew, the current prime minister's father who passed away last week (may he rest in peace). There is no corruption in the Singapore government, absolutely none.

Hmm, how about the national median salary? Some incentives are good. Otherwise, you will only have rich people running and they will find other ways to manipulate themselves some dough (probably will anyway but at least with a median they have a reason to lift everyone else up too).

One example is the Internet Investment Fund, from which he supports beginning internet entrepreneurs. Besides, Russian state reserves are now growing again. About how many countries can you say that they have no debt and their reserves are growing???? I would really prefer a politician, who is so intelligent that he is able to "steal from the state" according to you and yet keep the state reserves growing.
