Government Corruption Has Become Rampant

George Washington's picture

Government corruption has become rampant:

  • Senior SEC employees spent up to 8 hours a day surfing porn sites instead of cracking down on financial crimes
  • NSA spies pass around homemade sexual videos and pictures they’ve collected from spying on the American people
  • Investigators from the Treasury’s Office of the Inspector General found that some of the regulator’s employees surfed erotic websites, hired prostitutes and accepted gifts from bank executives … instead of actually working to help the economy
  • The Minerals Management Service – the regulator charged with overseeing BP and other oil companies to ensure that oil spills don’t occur – was riddled with “a culture of substance abuse and promiscuity”, which included “sex with industry contacts
  • Agents for the Drug Enforcement Agency had sex parties with prostitutes hired by the drug cartels they were supposed to stop
  • The former chief accountant for the SEC says that Bernanke and Paulson broke the law and should be prosecuted
  • The government knew about mortgage fraud a long time ago. For example, the FBI warned of an “epidemic” of mortgage fraud in 2004. However, the FBI, DOJ and other government agencies then stood down and did nothing. See this and this. For example, the Federal Reserve turned its cheek and allowed massive fraud, and the SEC has repeatedly ignored accounting fraud. Indeed, Alan Greenspan took the position that fraud could never happen
  • Paulson and Bernanke falsely stated that the big banks receiving Tarp money were healthy, when they were not. The Treasury Secretary also falsely told Congress that the bailouts would be used to dispose of toxic assets … but then used the money for something else entirely
  • Warmongerers in the U.S. government knowingly and intentionally lied us into a war of aggression in Iraq.  The former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff – the highest ranking military officer in the United States – said that the Iraq war was “based on a series of lies”. The same is true in Libya and other wars
  • The Bush White House worked hard to smear CIA officersbloggers and anyone else who criticized the Iraq war

The biggest companies own the D.C. politicians.  Indeed, the head of the economics department at George Mason University has pointed out that it is unfair to call politicians “prostitutes”.  They are in fact pimps … selling out the American people for a price.

Government regulators have become so corrupted and “captured” by those they regulate that Americans know that the cop is on the take.   Institutional corruption is killing people’s trust in our government and our institutions.

Indeed, America is no longer a democracy or republic … it’s officially an oligarchy.

The allowance of unlimited campaign spending allows the oligarchs to purchase politicians more directly than ever.    Moreover, there are two systems of justice in Americaone for the big banks and other fatcats, and one for everyone else.

But the private sector is no better … for example, the big banks have turned into criminal syndicates.

Liberals and conservatives tend to blame our country’s problems on different factors … but they are all connected.

The real problem is the malignant, symbiotic relationship between big corporations and big government.

Darn, here comes Easter again. What was once a happy child's funtime holiday full of colors and sweets, the time of the Christ energy to come forth, has now become another time of the year to absolutely dread. The spring equinox is one thing to celebrate, but it has evil underlinings that are more than what outwardly meets the all seeing Eye. The major reason for this is in the darkness that now enshrouds this special time period from within.

It is the dirtiest snastiest evil unimaginable that has a long history of disrupting and causing chaos using the mask of easter for deeper more evil esoteric reasons. Sacrifice of life force for personal gain is just wickedly horrific. Those who believe in such wickedness are simply overblown egos gone wild with to much power to do what they do to children. England seems to be the pedophile capitol of the world. Once a proud nation of leaders, philosophers, and innovators of freedom, is now a land of dark bankster slaves and drudgery.

But all that is another class, or not the point of this note. Ask, who has a history of attacking innocents, causing false flag events for moar lie based insane reasoning for moar woar? Can you say, isreal? Yes, and the babylonian govts they control? Who has a long history of evil satanic type activity in the attacks that happen on Easter, or on the dates around that time period? Isreal. The question is begging to be asked now, will isreal attack innocent Iran in the coming weeks around the Easter time when most peoples attentions are on moar holy and happy colorful events in the exoteric celebrations? Check the history books.

There must be a few real good folks in isreal that can stand up to the zionist puppet dictator nuttyyahoo. Right? If you allow this to happen, moar evil agenda based aggression, it will lead to the annihilation of isreal. All as planned, of course.

The real truth is, as history is recorded by what ever world is left in the future, it will forever reveal who the bankster puppet nations were, how goodness easily won over the ancient historic outdated evil, and how these wars of aggression were continually perpetuated so the warmongering hateful nation owners could continue to profit. Never again! Everybody sees the world's biggest problem are the evil central banksters that own the politicians, and the assorted minion puppets that cause theses endless, baseless, illegal wars for the profits of the few that seek to kill everyone eventually.

So how about it? Is this Easter going to bring on the beginning of the end of humanity? Dose anyone know if there is a false flag event or attack on Iran scheduled this year during the Holy Easter time? Maybe, thereafter?

It only takes one brave soul to save a world. Go ahead, don't be afraid. Step up to the plate. Take the bull by the horns!

The so called elites, like those who invest in politics, believe they live in a world who is separate from the one we live in.

That their world is insulated from the rules they create for us.  It was interesting to see how they reacted when they realized that they were not as untouchable as they had believed.

When they were held to account they laughed at first, until people started to get arrested, officers started to show up with search warrants etc.

Then the response was always the same. Surprise, shock, anger and then the mantra. Admit nothing, deny everything, demand proof.

Of all those sentenced so far in Iceland, only one accepted his sentence and went to prison without without whining and screeching.  That was Baldur Guðlaugsson, he was a permanent secretary of the ministry of finance. He was convicted for insider trading.

Everyone else has shown no remorse or showed any will to take any responsibility of any sort.

But also there is this huge Trade Agenda. TPTB have this huge Pathos for getting Richer and having Slave Trade to Leverage their Investments. Debt slaves and prisons have also been used to leverage Investments as well as Piracy on the seas.

Because Jesus Christ is the only answer- the only way out. He foretold all these things that were destined to occur before His Second coming.

The answer IS NOT:

-A human government

-A new financial system

-A human political ideology

-Hording precious metals or any other measure of wealth

-A scientific, technological or medical "miracle"

-A corrupt life of 70 or 80 years

The answer IS:

-Rulership by God

-A new heavens and a new earth where righteousness will dwell

-Eternal life with God

Jesus foretold all that was to occur before He returns, and we are seeing them as at no other time in history:

The Bible does not counsel us to ignore the breaking of laws by the the powerful.

In fact, the Bible mentions justice over 200 times — more than just about any other topic.
The Bible asks us to do justice and to stand up to ANYONE — including the rich or powerful — who do injustice or oppress the people.

Indeed, one of the first things God asks of us is to do justice:

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

While many churches and synagogues have become obsessed with other issues, many have arguably ignored this most important of God’s demands of us.

As pointed out by a leading Christian ministry, which rescues underage girls trapped as sex slaves in third world countries:

In Scripture there is a constant call to seek justice. Jesus got upset at the Pharisees because they neglected the weightier matters of the law, which He defined as justice and the love of God . . .

Isaiah 58 complains about the fact that while the people of God are praying and praying and praying, they are not doing anything about the injustice.

Should Christians just pray for justice and leave the rest to God?

That’s not what the Bible asks us to do. Instead, Hebrews 11:33 tells us that we are God’s hands for dispensing justice, and God uses us to “administer justice.”

We have to “walk our talk” and put our prayers into action.

God demands that we do everything in our power to act as “God’s hands” in bringing justice. And as Saint Augustine reminds us, “Charity is no substitute for justice withheld.”

Indeed:

The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene. (Isaiah 59:15-16)

This is the only place in the Bible where the word “appalled” is used for the way God feels — in other words, the only thing which we know God is appalled by is if people are not doing justice.

There are hundreds of other references to justice in the Bible, including:

  • Blessed are they who maintain justice . . . . (Psalm 106:3)
  • This is what the LORD says: Maintain justice and do what is right . . . . (Isiah 56:1)
  • This is what the LORD says: Do what is just and right. (Jeremiah 22:3,13-17)
  • Follow justice and justice alone. (Deuteronomy 16:19, 20)
  • For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice . . . . (Job 11:5,7)
  • Learn to do right! Seek justice . . . . (Isaiah 1:17)

But shouldn’t we be deferential to the rich and powerful bankers?

No. Colossians 3:25 explains:

For the wrongdoer will have punishment for the wrong he has done, without respect for any man’s position.

So if the powerful players in the giant banks broke the laws, they must be held to account.

Ecclesiastes 8:11 notes:

When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people’s hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.

How about an influential blogger?  Yes, GW, you are EQUALLY a wrongdoer as the banker, .gov employee, or anyone else you condemn.  Why are you not calling for a revolution against your own evil deeds?  I wonder...

There is no difference...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Remove the plank from your own eye, then you will see clearly to help remove the speck from your brother's eye.

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Since you seem to be steeped in the 'Old Testament', I wonder if you can explain how it is that Christ's crucifixion - specifically the piercing of his hands and feet - is described ONLY in the Old Testament.  In two places.  And both at times before crucifixion was invented by the Romans.  That one is more of a stumper to people than Romans 13.

Agreed, Christians should not ignore injustice. That is why Christians should live justly- and understand that is their place to set the example:

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

Regarding those who do- and do not- live a Godly life, the Bible has this to say:

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:12-17

Every Scripture dealing with the end times states very similar things- things will go from bad to worse. Corruption and deception will abound. And Christians will be persecuted because they will stand out in stark contrast to “the world” of unsaved souls.

So what is a Christian to do? Should Christians just pray for justice and leave the rest to God?

We are to act justly in an unjust world. We are not to act as avengers: “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” - Romans 12:9-21

So it is clearly not our place as Christians to exact vengeance. Our way is to pray, have faith, live an exemplary life patterned after the life of Christ.

You quoted this Scripture: “The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene.” (Isaiah 59:15-16)

I notice that you didn’t finish verse 16 there. It says:”So he <the LORD> himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm, and his justice sustained him.”

Notice that it was GOD who administered justice. Humans can act justly in their dealings with one another, we can strive to maintain it, but just as was the case with Christians in Rome, injustices on the part of the state will be numerous.

Likewise, the context of each of the Scriptures you quoted needs to be taken into account. There is joy, blessing in dealing justly with others (Psalm 106:3); Be just and fair to all. Do what is right and good, (WHY?:) for I am coming soon to rescue you  and to display my righteousness among you (Isaiah 56:1); After calling him out in Jeremiah 22:3,13-17- God meted out justice to Jehoiachin in Jeremiah 22:18-30.

We could examine the entire Bible, and what we will find is that God is the sole arbiter of right and wrong- perfect justice resides only with Him. Mankind is to seek, to strive, to love justice, and if we do so, we will know it when we see it. It doesn’t happen much in the corrupt world we live in.

God will soon mete out justice to those who have been unjust:

Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.” – James 5:1-5

“And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.” Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.” – Revelation 19:17-21

+1  Good to see someone bring context to the discussion.  It is always God's justice to bring as only He can judge.  Any authority that exists in the world - whether used justly or not - exists at His discretion.  Respect for authority is therefore respect for the order of things that He has allowed.

don't disagree, but it also says this.....which is very tough to abide by these days

Romans 13 New International Version (NIV) Submission to Governing Authorities

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

not to hijack your post in to a theology discussion, but I've heard many a convoluted sermon on the above passage, none very satisfying.

Francis Schaeffer spoke out about a Christians duty to use non-violent civil disobedience when 'authority' overstepped certain boundaries.

Maybe Cog is correct, we are to blame for the system because we have not removed ourselves from the system and still hope to fix/prosper from/game it.

.Gov hacks argue that Romans 13 states that Christians must submit to government authority, since the government is divinely empowered and sustained. This is actually the argument which Adolph Hitler used in order to convince the German churches to follow him and his policies.

However, Romans 13 does not teach subservience. Rather, as explained by a Baptist minister, Romans 13 actually says something very different:

"Paul … said, ‘Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.’ Meaning, our obedience to civil authority is more than just ‘because they said so.’ It is also a matter of conscience. This means we must think and reason for ourselves regarding the justness and rightness of our government's laws. Obedience is not automatic or robotic. It is a result of both rational deliberation and moral approbation.

Therefore, there are times when civil authority may need to be resisted. Either governmental abuse of power or the violation of conscience (or both) could precipitate civil
disobedience."

The Bible therefore requires that Christians resist imposition of martial law based upon false pretenses or upon an abuse of power.

Similarly, Romans 13 teaches that any government that is a "terror to good works" is acting beyond its authority and must be resisted.

Therefore, Romans 13 compels us to resist and remove from power elements of the U.S. government which are corrupt.

And remember that many government hacks use religion to manipulate people, even though they themselves are usually not religious. So the government hacks pushing Romans 13 as an excuse likely do not themselves even believe in the Bible.

You, sir GW, have a very selective and twisted view of what Scripture says.  You take things out of context, and selectively weave together quotes to make a case that you want.  The Bible absolutely does not require Christians to resist the imposition of martial law.  What would be the consequence to a Christian for failing to meet this requirement - revocation of salvation?  Really - what is the consequence?  There is zero Scriptural support to what you are contending.  There is one - and only one - requirement of a Christian: to believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, ransomed us from our sins through his sacrifice on the cross.  Any suggestion that there is any other 'requirement' of a Christian is unfounded heresy.

This is why I hound this POS. He knows what he's says is out or context to promote a certain point of view. Why Do you think he only focuses on George Bush and Dick cheney? He has an agenda to only smear the political right.

He is a gutless coward.

George, I honestly have to say I have never heard any person from the government, or even media (quasi government these days) ever mention Romans 13, though you seem to have experienced that. I just brought it up because personally, it is a passage I struggle with. I'd actually be shocked to hear anyone in our government today that was actually aware of it.

Yes, I am aware of all this, and if I took it fundamentalist literally I likely wouldn't be on Zerohedge ranting about those very same authorities.

I don't have the computer skills you have to come up with things so fast, but the reason I bring up Francis Schaeffer, a Presbyterian pastor if I'm not mistaken, is that he gave the most satisfying explanation of Romans 13 and solid biblical basis for civil disobedience that I have come across. If I can find it I'll post.

Also, I believe many pastors of the revolutionary war era supported their members fighting the Brits, and I know of one Lutheran pastor that took his robes off after a sermon and joined the troops. Likely many others did also. What better example of going against the authorities is there?

found a couple quickly, guess I'll have to dig out the book...........

No totalitarian authority nor authoritarian state can tolerate those who have an absolute by which to judge that state and its actions. The Christians had that absolute in God's revelation. Because the Christians had an absolute, universal standard by which to judge not only personal morals but the state, they were counted as enemies of totalitarian Rome and were thrown to the beasts.
(Francis A. Schaeffer, How Should We Then Live?, Ch. 1)

When the Christian consensus died, it left a vacuum, and this will tend to be filled by an elite to form an authoritarian state. When we speak of an authoritarian state, we must not think of the model of Hitler or Stalin, but rather a manipulative authoritarian state. The governments of the world have at their disposal forms of manipulation beyond anything the world has every known before.

-- Francis Schaeffer, How Should We Then Live? DVD, Episode 6, "The Scientific Age"

My spiritual mentor, Dr. Francis Schaeffer, who has been called the greatest Evangelical theologian of the last 100 years, warned that as the anarchy increased in our world due to moral relativism, that totalitarianism would rise to control the chaos. Schaeffer issued that warning over 30 years ago and said we had a brief window in which to preserve our religious freedoms. Dr. Schaeffer believed that the greatest contributing factor to the rise of totalitarianism was the fact that the Evangelical Church was accommodating to a growing humanist culture and not standing for Biblical truth. Nowhere is that more apparent than in the “Emergent Church Movement” and in the “Seeker-Friendly Movement,” but it is epidemic in the Evangelical culture as a whole. Tragically, what Schaeffer predicted would happen in the church and the culture is now happening before our eyes. Schaeffer stated that it did not matter whether or not the totalitarianism came from the left or the right because the results would be the same.

The humanists push for “freedom,” but having no Christian consensus to contain it, that “freedom” leads to chaos or to slavery under the state (or under an elite). Humanism, with its lack of any final base for values or law, always leads to chaos. It then naturally leads to some form of authoritarianism to control the chaos. Having produced the sickness, humanism gives more of the same kind of medicine for a cure. With its mistaken concept of final reality, it has no intrinsic reason to be interested in the individual, the human being. Its natural interest is the two collectives: the state and society.

"But let us be realistic in another way , too. If we as Christians do not speak out as authoritarian governments grow from within or come from outside, eventually we or our children will be the
enemy of  society and the state. No truly authoritarian government can tolerate those who have a real absolute by which to judge its arbitrary absolutes and who speak out and act upon
that absolute." [Francis Schaeffer, How Shall We Then Live? ,page 254]
