"In these 5 lockers are nuclear cruise missiles. As you can see, they are secured by a MasterTM  combo lock. Sec. Kerry and I are the only ones with the combos. If Iran is attacked, we will give them the combos to open and use the nuclear cruise missiles.
"The policy of my Administration is that to prevent Iran from building nukes, these 5 deadly weapons will give them the confidence they need to prevent an invasion from Israel."

nuclear proliferation is a bitch.

once upon a time the u.s. saw the soviets as the only counterbalancing force ying to our nuclear yang.

this idea that the rest of the world could never really get nuclear weapons is dying because over time, proliferatoin is guanteed to occur as a very deep infection is guaranteed to spread.

the infection is technology. prometheus gave fire, fire was life, but it was also death, a weapon.

the spread of nuclear death weaponry is unstoppable over time but yet, at any time, the story of HOW and WHEN proliferation occurs can be altered in fits and starts.

so many anti-semites on zh are blinded by their exclusive focus on israel as the be all and end all of thought process regarding nuclear proliferation.

the issue is much bigger than israel. and the anti-semite squandrons of commenters can continue myopically analyzing reatlity.

7 billion people. a hand full of nuclear capable nations, and a whole lot of OPPORTUNITY . that is the tinder of nuclear proliferation.

nuclear war is INEVITABLE. IT MUST HAPPEN UNLESS A MORE DESTRUCTIVE CONTROL BASED TECHNOLOGY SUPERCEDES IT.

the human termite mound is a statiscal guarantee that those most powerful weapons in existence must eventually be used unless the termite mound is somehow destroyed prior to this, or it is able to build even more potent weapons to render nuclear weapons obsolete.

the former and latter possibilities both seem ludicrous.

what could possible render nukes obsolete? and what kind of event is going to reduce our current termite mount to a state of being , for the next 200 years, unwilling or unable to  resurrect the specter of nuclear war. something wildly destructive is what.

THE REAL QUESITON IS WHETHER AND TO WHAT EXTENT THE SCALE OF THE NEXT NUCLEAR CONFLICT MAY OCCUR SUFFICIENTLY TO PREVENT THE USE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR ANOTHER 100 YEARS.

only 2 nuclear weapons were used as the end end ww2. we have had a nuclear attack free world for 70 years since then.

those 2 nukes killed many civilians. but far more civilians were killed in ww2 at large. the use of the nukes was limited and also allowed for a 70 year nuke attack free world.

considering how closely mccarthur came to nuking north korea and china and other subsequent nuclear standoffs, i would consider our species lucky.

however----------------this does beg the quesiton of wehther or not it would be useful to actually consider how to shape the next nuclear conflict so at to bring about the same limited destruction of the last one, specifically with intent to lead to another 70 years peaceful period without a single nuclear attack in the globe.

many people thing this is a sick way of thinking. however, with humanity as diseased as it is----------aren't you more afraid of full scale nuclear proliferation and subsequent nuclear global catastrophe as well over 1000 major cities are nuked in a breif period?

i think judgement and justice are about assesing relative alternatives and possibilities. and when justice is applied to the idea of nuclear proliferation and war-------the scales tip in favor of precaution to prevent the full scale scenario as strongly as possible.

many peopel identify this language as tpyical 'fear mongering' . it is not intended to make you afraid of iran or anyone else. in fact, it could be intended to make you afraid of those in the u.s. government or elsewhere in the u.s. bent on using the u.s. to start a major nuclear war. if rome had nukes , what could have happened in the ancient world?

the statistical lieklihood of desire for ravenous nuclear war is spread across the entire global termite mound. with only certain enenties currently able to act on that desire. proliferation is simply the set of activites by which those with desire pursue and obtain the ability to actualize that desire.

You coulda-shoulda stopped at the first sentence - nuclear proliferation is a bitch.

I believe that a small (perhaps dirty) nuke will go off in a major US city within the next decade. Don't like it, hope it happens on the East Coast and not the West Coast, because all my children and grandchildren are in the West and I'm a selfish son-of-a-bitch, but there you are. The nuke genie is out of the bottle, and our limiting it to the 'major, and therefore responsible' nation states is coming to a close. ISIS (and probably other splinter groups) are rich enough to buy a damn nuke from several powers (Russia, Pakistan, India, the USSA) through corrupt or true believer 'gaurdians' of the present nuke force.

One 'illeagal' nuke and one rental truck...If you think 911 caused the majority of the USSA peons to give up it's freedoms, just THINK what the sheeple will want when even a 5 KT goes off in a city anywhere in the US, even if it is D.C. (OK, that last part wasn't nice...)

The demand to nuke the whole damn ME will be fierce, and I suspect restraint will be limited. Sure hope I'm wrong.

And then there's this:

http://www.timesofisrael.com/op-ed-calls-on-israel-to-nuke-germany-iran/

"In the opinion article published Tuesday, the author claims that only through nuclear annihilation of Iran and Germany, with 20 or 30 nuclear bombs each, can Israelis prevent the state’s destruction.

“If Israel does not walk in the ways of God’s Bible,” author Chen Ben-Eliyahu wrote in Hebrew, “it will receive a heavy punishment of near complete destruction and doom and only a few will be saved.”

One of Israel’s missions is to remember the crimes of Amalek, a tribe representative of pure evil in the Bible, whom Jews are commanded to obliterate. Among those descended from the band, the author writes, are Iranian leaders Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and current President Hassan Rouhani."

Well said. I would add that nuclear technology could only be developed in facist/communistic states. There is no private sector profit, and there is not enough top teir talent willing to work for a purely statist goal. Add in the seucrity/secrecy/tax model enforced by the gun (soliders, spies, revenuers) and violla: They birthed the ultimate destroyer of worlds. Kinda rhymes with the ability to tax. Precursors[edit]
Before the term technocracy was coined, technocratic or quasi-technocratic ideas involving governance by technical experts were promoted by various individuals, most notably early socialist theorists such as Henri de Saint-Simon. This was expressed by the belief in state ownership over the economy, with the function of the state being transformed from one of pure philosophical rule over men into a scientific administration of things and a direction of processes of production under scientific management.[15] According to Daniel Bell:

"St. Simon's vision of industrial society, a vision of pure technocracy, was a system of planning and rational order in which society would specify its needs and organize the factors of production to achieve them."[16]

Citing the ideas of St. Simon, Bell comes to the conclusion that the "administration of things" by rational judgement is the hallmark of technocracy.[16]

Alexander Bogdanov, a Russian scientist and social theorist, also anticipated a conception of technocratic process. Both Bogdanov’s fiction and his political writings, which were highly influential, suggest that he expected a coming revolution against capitalism to lead to a technocratic society.[17]

From 1913 until 1922, Bogdanov immersed himself in the writing of a lengthy philosophical treatise of original ideas, Tectology: Universal Organization Science. Tectology anticipated many basic ideas of Systems Analysis, later explored by Cybernetics. In Tectology, Bogdanov proposed to unify all social, biological, and physical sciences by considering them as systems of relationships and by seeking the organizational principles that underlie all systems.

Characteristics[edit]
Technocrats are individuals with technical training and occupations who perceive many important societal problems as being solvable, often while proposing technology-focused solutions. The administrative scientist Gunnar K. A. Njalsson theorizes that technocrats are primarily driven by their cognitive "problem-solution mindsets" and only in part by particular occupational group interests. Their activities and the increasing success of their ideas are thought to be a crucial factor behind the modern spread of technology and the largely ideological concept of the "information society". Technocrats may be distinguished from "econocrats" and "bureaucrats" whose problem-solution mindsets differ from those of the technocrats.[18]

The former government of the Soviet Union has been referred to as a technocracy.[19] Soviet leaders like Leonid Brezhnev often had a technical background in education; in 1986, 89% of Politburo members were engineers.[20]

Several governments in European parliamentary democracies have been labeled 'technocratic' based on the participation of unelected experts ('technocrats') in prominent positions.[3] Since the 1990s, Italy has had several such governments (in Italian, governo tecnico) in times of economic or political crisis,[21][22] including the formation in which economist Mario Monti presided over a cabinet of unelected professionals.[23][24] The term 'technocratic' has been applied to governments where a cabinet of elected professional politicians is led by an unelected prime minister, such as in the cases of the 2011-2012 Greek government led by economist Lucas Papademos, and the Czech Republic's 2009–2010 caretaker government presided over by the state's chief statistician, Jan Fischer.[4][25] In 2013, the government of Tunisia failed to install a technocratic government.[26]

In the article "Technocrats: Minds Like Machines",[4] it is stated that Singapore is perhaps the best advertisement for technocracy: the political and expert components of the governing system there seem to have merged completely. This was underlined in an earlier article in "Wired" by Sandy Sandfort,[27] where he describes the information technology system of the island even at that early date making it effectively intelligent.

Technocracy and engineering[edit]
Following Samuel Haber,[28] Donald Stabile argues that engineers were faced with a conflict between physical efficiency and cost efficiency in the new corporate capitalist enterprises of the late nineteenth century United States. The profit-conscious, non-technical managers of firms where the engineers work, because of their perceptions of market demand, often impose limits on the projects that engineers desire to undertake.

The prices of all inputs vary with market forces thereby upsetting the engineer's careful calculations. As a result, the engineer loses control over projects and must continually revise plans. To keep control over projects the engineer must attempt to exert control over these outside variables and transform them into constant factors.[29]

Leaders of the Communist Party of China are mostly professional engineers. The Five-year plans of the People's Republic of China have enabled them to plan ahead in a technocratic fashion to build projects such as the National Trunk Highway System, the China high-speed rail system, and the Three Gorges Dam.[30]

divide and conquer. the same tatics the zionazi banksters of wall st and london have used to destroy the once educated and cosmopolitan places of iran, iraq, lebanon, etc.. they are using against 'muricans with increasing velocity and agression.

trying to make us hate and kill each other... trying to force us from remembering.. we are ALL ONE.

white, black, red, etc.. stright, gay,  male, female... we are actually one species. people remember that locally., when talking to their staright / gay/ white black/ red family. they remember when there's eye contact. that we are not divided as the banksters want.

but then they turn on the tv, the talk radio.. and get all emotionally enraged over false issues, they get their daily brain washing, and become irate. at boogeymen, crated for the sole purpose of divide and conquer.

Amen, Sir. We live in the age of darkness, self-deception, and untruth. We are told what we want to hear by obvious liars we refuse to disbelieve. One of my favorite speakers, a now fallen celebrity priest had a fantastic quote that captures the times we live in.

He said, "We have inverted the poles of the moral power grid. We have begun to call the negative pole the positive, and the positive the negative. This inversion of reality begets disaster: The power fails, the lights go out, darkness falls — and indeed, if your light is darkness, how deep, how very deep will the darkness be"-- Father John Corapi
