Well, it is an excellent question, and with my fellow ZHers' indulgence, I will give free rein to speculation and throw out one possible reason; here goes-

Notorious Nazi Dmitry Yarosh has been appointed to a senior position as adviser to Ukraine's Chief of the General Staff.  This certainly would not have happened if the de facto Satrap of Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, did not approve.

Yarosh's Nazi Right Sector Paramilitary Battalions have officially been added as appendage of the Ukrainian Army.

The Ukie Defense Ministry is receiving USAmerican aid and arms (overtly and covertly), and will begin receiving training from USAmerica very soon. They have set the date for Hitler's Birthday _{^{(you simply can't make this shit up!)}}

Ipso facto, USAmerica is arming Nazi goons who desperately want to kill Russians inside and outside of Ukraine.
