Bernanke Has The Courage To Call His Upcoming Memoir The "Courage To Act"
Ben Bernanke can now add another headline to his impressive resume... Fed Chair... Blogger... and writer of fiction. As AP reports, Blogger Ben's memoir will be released in October, and the title will be "The Courage To Act," apparently inspired by the Fed's "moral courage" in the face of "bitter criticism and condemnation."
* * *
“When the economic well-being of their nation demanded a strong and creative response, my colleagues at the Federal Reserve, policymakers and staff alike, mustered the moral courage to do what was necessary, often in the face of bitter criticism and condemnation. I am grateful to all of them.”
Ben S. Bernanke
* * *
While we thought perhaps "The Courage To Print" was more appropriate, it appears the book is non-fiction and thus, we suggest, the title needs an additional word of clarification:
"The Courage To Act ........."
...Egregiously"
...In A Manner Unbecoming Of A Public Servant"
...On Behalf Of Jamie Dimon"
...Alone On A Grassy Knoll"
* * *
The memoir by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will be called "The Courage to Act" and is coming out in October.
The title and release date were announced Wednesday by publisher W.W. Norton & Co. The deal was originally reported last year, soon after Bernanke completed his second of two 4-year terms as chairman.
Bernanke plans to focus on the Fed's response to the financial crisis of 2008. In a statement issued by Norton, he said the book's title was inspired by the Fed's "moral courage" in the face of "bitter criticism and condemnation." Bernanke faced a wide range of attacks, from doing too little for the economy to acting too aggressively.
* * *
And for good measure - how he saved the world (from the book's website):
In THE COURAGE TO ACT, Ben Bernanke pulls back the curtain on the tireless and ultimately successful efforts to prevent a mass economic failure. Working with two U.S. presidents and two Treasury secretaries, Dr. Bernanke and his colleagues used every Fed capability, no matter how arcane, to keep the U.S. economy afloat. From his arrival in Washington in 2002 and his experiences before the crisis to the intense days and weeks of the crisis itself, and through the Great Recession that followed, Dr. Bernanke gives readers an unequaled perspective on the American economy. This narrative will reveal for the first time how the creativity and decisiveness of a few key leaders prevented an economic collapse of unimaginable scale.

With initials B.S., how can anyone take this guy seriously?
Well.....he was under oath.....so I took it seriously.
Thing is, which oath was in effect at any given time?
"Bernanke Has The Courage To Call His Upcoming Memoir The "Courage To Act"
It's not courage. Using his tribe's vernacular, it should be called "Chutzpah To Act".
Given all the secret bank bailouts, "The Courage to Act for YOUR Owners"
The sub-title should be
"So Stop Calling Me Putz!"
And for his follow up book, having the nerve to write, 'Getting on your nerves'
OR, "The Courage to Act... Criminally".
If it was a biography or an autobiography the facts would have to be checked and double checked, but since it is a memoir he can write what ever he pleases and nobody can do anything about it.
Sounds like he's rewriting history already...
Just another backdoor pay-off, identical to the speaking gigs.
The courage to act like an idiot
They can study all the previous crashes but today's not the same as yesteryear.
Don't they know by now that past performances doesn't indicate future!
The courage to call it? More like the fucking nerve.
"Inside the Kosher Nostra"
oh man thats good stuff! LOLOL
Ben, you are without a dought the biggest pontificating, narsasistic, douch bag of our time... thou Obama runs a close second.
So fellow ZeroHedge'rs... Shall we bomb Amazon with negative, yet enlightening reviews of this sorry propaganda piece?
"A Bridge Loan Too Far"
"When Courage Crosses The Line Into Delusion"
or
"The Day I Became Fed Chairman, I Got a Huge "Craftsman" Tatoo Across My Back"
"How to print your way to riches, fame and fortune" Ben Bernanke.
Marketed in the third world as....
"How to screw the little man while your on top." Ben Bernanke
Of course, because taking the easy way and printing money has never been more courageous!
When will the American people get the courage to hang that PIECE OF SHIT from a lamp pole ???
Neither you nor anyone else is going to do any hanging. Instead, you're going to take out the trash like your wife told you to, go to work today like your boss told you to, eat some leftovers for dinner and fall asleep on the couch.
Tomorrow? Lather, rinse, repeat. That's it, Bob.
A lot of down votes on your comment, iofera. Alas, they don't understand your sarcasm nor the truth in your statement of the placidity and lethargy of the common "man" these days. When their refrigerators run out of beer and they can't afford the cable TV bill anymore, only THEN will they be driven to outrage and action. (Maybe)
You get attacked for posting the typical day of a sheeple. Must have hit a nerve?
Maybe if you had included a description of the 3 1/2 day vacation the sheep took and how when they got back to work found they were demoted and their office moved adjacent to the sewage lift station?
He is Amerikan patriot . ZH good old troll . He speaks sense , surprising to know .
Well that involves physical exertion so count Americans out. Plus it cuts into valuable Netflix/Instagram time.
"The courage to STEAL"
Bernack is not much but a canker on the worlds ass. How about a post regarding the pig in SC that might face murder charges?
This guy is a joke. It had nothing to do with courage, it was pure fear. Fear of the system falling apart.
Here is an excerpt from one of my posts discussing the 2008 crisis
"The onset of the debt based monetary system was a want for power, its perpetuation was in the maintenance of that power, but at this point the crash was so unimaginable the systems continuation, at all costs was one of survival. "
Like I said FEAR not courage, and the fact that he would say this about himself is even more fitting.
Here is the post in its entirety: http://www.debtcrash.report/entry/history-and-introduction
The onset of the debt based monetary system was a want for power,
"All" monetary systems are "debt based". It's explicit in their purpose. The purpose (of money ... which is obviously a "promise to complete a trade") is to enable simple barter trades over time and space.
Money is created by traders making trading promises and getting them certified. The trader is obviously indebted to the marketplace in which those certificates circulate, until he delivers on his trade by returning the certificates ... which are then extinguished.
Bernanke created $trillions in trading promises for the Fed (and thus the US Government ... and thus the tax paying US Citizen). There is absolutely no probability that those trading promises will ever be delivered on.
He had the courage to call it "quantitative easing" because calling it "sovereign debt monetization (DEFAULT)" and "counterfeiting" would have been too obvious, even to the average US Citizen.
The Courage (BALLS) to put this BS into print as if he and his Fed cohorts are some kind of heros for putting the ZIRP and QE policies into effect that subsequently destroyed our economy...
Perfectly understandable when you consider he is a sociopath who lacks the truth gene
So now, it takes "courage" to commit acts of fraud and counterfeiting! He has a criminal mindset, and has no compunction about it! No conscience!
So Bernanke admits he is an "actor," no different than the actors at the staged Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting or the actors CNN interviewed in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon false flag operation. Bernanke better be careful, actors who know too much sometimes meet sudden death, especially if they are Navy SEALs.

Banksters fedsters, fraudsters..Term Bullshitaboutit, Donny I got your back Ben? Fuggetaboutit!
I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do... www.globe-report.com
Fuck you bernanke. :-|
These types of memoirs are written for the political class to soothe their conscience while the ass-raping by the 1% of the 1% proceeds apace.
When courage and stupidity are mistaken for one another, the whole world suffers.
By "stupidity" you do mean "malfeasance", correct?
Exactly. He acted in his wealthy friends best interest, at the expense of the bottom 99% of the entire world.
Ben, lets change "moral courage" to "moral hazard", there fixed it for you. But you did have to be truly evil to monitize the debt and tell everyone you weren't. Nothing moral or courageous there.
Of course. Hence the "courage" part of the title, and his grateful appreciation of the other members of the facade of a firewall that protects them all.
Although, given he has full immunity for his actions under the BIS, it ends up kind of moot, huh?
And Carl Rove talked down a VET, unapologetic about anything.
That is what happens when you don't throw them in jail.
I called Bernack a canker, but he's just a wanker compared to Rove. That guy is the definition of a piece of shit.
I'd ask for a link but why do I want my blood boiling yet again.
The fact that this country is seriously looking to elect yet another Bush or Clinton makes me want to stab myself in the eye with a rusty fork.
Too bad there aren't any bookstores left. I could see this in the entrance vestiblue of Barnes & Noble half price table within a year.
or within 6 months
It will be sitting right next to Hillary Clintons book.
According to Obama, Giethner was the only person who could fix the crisis. Bernanke is taking credit for other peoples great works.
What great works? And what got fixed? Dumbass
The Courage to Act....(LIKEAPUSSY)
the Cougar to Cat?
Absolutely no courage was required to kick the can, more like a chickenshit that was too afraid to let the economy clear itself. This would have been over long ago. But now we have this., almost a decade later. Thanks alot you shmuck.
It is not about the economy. It is NEVER about the economy. It is about getting the money out of your pocket and into theirs, all while avoiding swinging from the nearest lamp post. It's a delicate balance, and bernanke has played it brilliantly.
Couldn't agree more........book should be titled "Oligarch Guidebook for Dummies: Fear of Business Cycles"
"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."
Robert Oppenheimer
publisher's edit - originally it was "the SCOURGE did act"
History will show him to be the failure and coward we all know he is.
Fuck off Ben you are a stain on humanity.
"The Courage to Act"...as if I know what I'm doing.
As long as the economy doesn't collapse on their watch, they claim success, even if their policies pointed the speeding car to the cliff. History will determine which is the sellout: The book or the author.
The "license to plunder" is more like it.
Should have been "The courage to commit massive fraud..."
Sounds like it could make for a good read before loading one's nailgun.
that's pretty much the same as a serial rapist publishing a book titled "the courage to bareback"
What courage - to put it all on America's young workers, tax payers, and future generations - to save criminal banksters!
Too bad our Commander-in-C and his Attorney General had no courage or back bone - and did not punish them. Instead, the bankers continue to be rewarded in spades with more free money from Ben's courage!
The "courage" to pat oneself on the back for paving the way for the greatest distorions, manipulations and asset bubbles in history is not courage but deluded folly.
What would you call going from 10 trillion to 18 trillion in debt in the last six years Bernanke? I'd call it a failure just like your phd work. What do you call a zero interest rate policy over that same time frame? I'd call it desperate. What do you call losing the aaa credit rating of the United states? Certainly not courage. Now what's next Bernanke? Negative rates? Economic implosion. Reset. Loss of dollars reserve status? Where's the courage in that?
One man's courage is another man's fear.
If you are running a linguistic propaganda drug drip to keep the markets 'stable' you need to a directly proportional bullshit keywords to maintain a flat 'target rate'.
The courage to sell your soul to Satan
Or fear to keep it.
It doesn't take much to change the pleasure/pain relationship to get the intended result...
The hubris of Jews. Go back to work Goy, Bernanke is busy writing history.
LOL, the courage to print!
Bernake's legacy of poverty for all but the elite...from AP:
"A divorced father and the seven children he was trying to raise on a kitchen worker's salary were poisoned in their sleep by carbon monoxide only days after the power company discovered a stolen meter and cut off electricity to their rental home, police said Tuesday."
this will not make his book. the chapter on suffering caused by the FED and yes you mr academia bribe taker.
his book much like hillary and bill's is about payoff nothing else..in wharehouses across america his books will moulder, paid for by his elite bribers- total legal payoffs..eyes wide shut.
Kind of funny that there is already a book about the Clintons titled "Sell Out." Bernanke's book should have been titled "The Courage To Sell Out."
Jews indeed. You really think Bernanke gave a damn about his own people? Or Greenspan before him? Then where's the 500 billion smackers (after 70 years of interest) the banksters stole from the Jews during the war?
Given the amounts of money Ben flung around during the crisis, the Fed's re-financing Israel's entire national debt as interest-free perpetual bonds (in lieu of the military aid dole)---amounting in practice to forgiving the entire debt---would have been a drop in the bucket relatively speaking, and a far better use for the money than bailing out the boys who bankrolled the Holocaust.
Doing that might have proven Ben had the courage to act.
Just called W.W. Norton & Co. and asked that this be printed on two-ply paper.
W.W. Norton already prints on "tissue-thin paper" so just use two pages at a time.
I would not call it "courage" when you have the power to print as much money as you want to solve any problem you want.
I average mom who pulls on her pants one leg at a time and kisses her kids good bye in the morning to go to work takes courage.
"We couraged some folks"
Might've as well called it "Ben Bernanke: I'm giving myself a literary blowjob"
What a fucking cunt.
Where are the true Patriots? So many well trained SEALS, DELTA type personnel. All well trained snipers. One by one, take these clowns out. Silently and swiftly. Get their whole infrastructure quaking, wondering if today is the day it ends for them. Until this starts, this whole thing is to continue going down the shitter. Period.
As long as they accept BernankeBux as payment, nothing will change.
I downed you for your innocence. Actually thinking the armed forces don't serve TPTB.
You are partially correct. The leadership has been purged and replaced with those that will lead the mexican gangbangers who now are a growing majority of the armed forces to fire on Americans and lead the coming bolshevik purge of America. There are however still many in the forces and those retired who know the story. Those are the ones that are needed now.

"The Courage to Act" - The man is an insult to us and his tribe.
What he means is:
the courage to steal and plunder in broad daylight.
to take from the needy and give to the greedy and tell all that it is for their own good.
Yes, that takes courage.
People have lost their lives for far less than this.
A better title is "How I Saved the Banks....and fucked the middle class."
..but will he have the courage to act when the pension funds of the bottom 99% implode due to his zirp rate policy?
A better title: How I Threw the Middle Class Under the Bus and Saved the 1%
... fucking cunt ...
The courage to shoot the prisoners, "I was only following orders!"
Our own modern day St Paul.
His whole fucking life is one big fucking lie. His academic research is one big fucking waste of space joke.
Rom 1: 28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Bernanke's picture on the cover is only his head and shoulders but it looks like he may be running. (Away from an angry mob with pichforks?).
I dont see anyone else around here with the courage to Throw Granny Under The Bus.
Well, except for that guy that runs Goldman Sachs... he'd even throw his great great Granny under the Bus.
If there was any justice in this world, the entire staff of the Fed would be marched out into the street at the same time and shot in the head.
The ONLY thing The Bernak did was steal money from old people and transfer it to the Fed shareholders - the Banks.
The banks completely failed in their assessment of risks and counter-parties, yet were made whole - plus, at the expense of everyone else.
Courage to be a Thief.
Never forget.
Things will not get better until a few of these humps are cut down in the streets.
All of them? Dude, let the guys who water the plants go at least. If they can't prove US citizenship, just deport their asses.
"The Courage to Act". In the same way that the Captain of a sinking ship appoints a cabin boy as acting "Captain" and heads for the nearest lifeboat.... An act of cowardice, not courage.
"Why the Fed's Dad Can Beat Up Your Dad"

Courageous men are humble.
Luke 14:8-11
“When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him, and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this person,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Bernanke Has The Courage To Call His Upcoming Memoir "The Courage To Act"...
So just what were you expecting from the worst unconvicted felon and accessory to the "demolition" of the most important and irresponsible economy in the World?
I see it at 30% off when it hits the pavement for sale the first week!!!
If theft and lies are "courage," them I'm the biggest coward.
The banksters need to repay us.
How much courage will he have to muster to one day "return," flee, with his spoils from the plundering of America?
"The Courage to Take Orders" - memoirs of a Rhesus Money Monkey...
"Bernanke Has The Courage To Call His Upcoming Memoir The 'Courage To Act'"
I think this ZH title suggests a misunderstanding of the Barnak's book title. "Act" seems not to refer to "taking action". Instead, it would be "to pretend" or "play a role" for entertainment or deception.
Oh yes, I’m sure all the savers you robbed of life support, who are now eating cat food, while watching the rich you helped get richer, as well as the future generations of their children and grandchildren who will be in debt their entire lives paying back the money you printed, will forever appreciate the suffering you and your Fed colleages experienced from from all those horrible tongue lashings. That must have really hurt.
Spoiler alert, acting with impunity doesn’t take much courage at all.
Ghost written by ......

I'm buying it , pissing all over it and then sending it to him for an autograph ... The FED has cost me and for him to crow about it, well I just don't like it!!!

Hope that helps...
Turned down for a re-fi on his mortgage. Make-work job at Brookings. Now a doorstopper.
I dunno, man, I'm starting to think that by the standards of the elite Ben must be seriously broke.
Who wants to bet the loot all disappeared into Anna's walk-in closet?
It wasn't courage that Bernanke had. Just a big pair of balls to come out with a book title like that.
A Memoir of a Crisis and Its Author... Fuck off, Bermonkey.
It's immodest. If that's the title, the contents are probably useless, too.
Yes, he had the courage to act when nobody else did. And it's worked both much better than he hoped and much worse than he hoped. And he knows it.
But unless that book contains a list of all the crap CDOs he bought, and the price paid, and the current mark to market, and a full disclosure of how the Fed has managed stock prices, he might as well be selling bags of his used toilet paper.
The number one question to be addressed is this - how much of what he's done is an expedient, and how much is the new normal? I'm betting he doesn't touch this in the whole book.
Not courage, chutzpah.
BEN BERNANKE JOINS CAST OF SESAME STREET
The retired FED president found a new professional challenge in the role of “Heli Ben” - a sweet grandpa by day and a voracious monetary predator by night. In the opening scene, Heli Ben starts with a powerful quote: “Open your legs Dollar Mamma”…

I look forward to burning the remaindered copies for warmth in the coming apocalypse.
Bernanke's "courage" was ignoring the housing bubble in the first place. He should apologize before opening his mouth again.
"act" as in a theatrical production?
The COURAGE to take Grandma's money and give it to the banks.
I wish he would have had the courage to allow the corrective bloodbath to occur....
Hopefully, everything will collapse by the time Bernanke's shit book comes out, and he won't be able to sell one copy of it, because he will be on trial getting lynched by the public..
The Courage to Act....Out Luciferian Prophecy..
Justice for savers = Bernanke doused with gasoline and lit up.
The courage to act, but not the wisdom to act in a correct manner. History is littered with such figures.
The banks have what it takes
.
I like that better
The courage to do what the CFR told him to do.
Scumbag.
The courage to act. It's what he desperately wanted, but instead he caved. Sometimes you only get one shot.
"The memoir by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will be called "The Courage to Act" and is coming out in October"
October? So more can kicking coming, I mean you would look real stupid to publish after the next crash.
I just wish I had the courage that BEN had. You know the ability to COUNTERFEIT MONEY. What a complete fucking joke. Commit fraud, change rules and shovel paper wealth to the people that TELL you what to do.
A long time ago a very smart person told me something that has always stayed with me. NEVER BELIEVE YOUR OWN PR. Obviously Ben is a clown, him stating that he is anything else than a shill, is comical.
why can't he just fade away?
Well, in the end outrageously lying and defrauding are also ways to "act"
add it to my collection of books to read by the firelight of the riots
Ben thought he was going to get a statue erected and all he got was a lousey book (that he had to publish!).
"Doctor" Bernanke LOL does anyone else notice more and more irrlevant policy makers in the US releasing books and memoirs ? Luckily in the digital age it is easier than ever to delete content from history. Who will release the non fiction book "How the US wasted the last 65 years."
