Why Is WalMart Mysteriously Shuttering Stores Nationwide For "Plumbing Issues"?
Earlier this year, WalMart became one of several corporate heavyweights to lift wages for its meagerly compensated workers, around 500,000 of which are now set to receive at least $9/hour and $10/hour by Q1 2016 (that of course assumes they make it on $9 an hour for another 12 months and don’t seek out other employment by sheer necessity).
Meanwhile, as we noted earlier this month, the move by the country’s largest retailer to pay a few extra pennies to its (basically) minimum wage employees comes at a cost to the company’s suppliers because when you operate on the thinnest of margins in order to be the “low price leader,” someone has to pay for those wage hikes and you can’t pass along the costs to customers because many of your low-income patrons are operating from the same tax bracket as your low-paid employees. As such, the poor companies along the supply chain are forced to lower their prices and of course they’re going to comply because well, you’re WalMart meaning you’re your vendors’ biggest account pretty much by default. The outcome is that “while WMT (or MCD or GAP or Target) boosts the living standards of its employees by the smallest of fractions, it cripples the cost and wage structure of the entire ecosystem of vendors that feed into it, and what takes place is a veritable avalanche effect where a few cent increase for the lowest paid megacorp employees results in a tidal wave of layoffs for said megacorp's vendors.”
If that doesn’t turn out to be enough in the face of an economy which isn’t really recovering and in which low-income shoppers are constrained by lackluster (and by that we mean nonexistent) wage growth, some sacrifices may have to be made. The problem is that laying people off and shuttering stores two months after a celebrated wage hike initiative doesn’t inspire much confidence and could turn into a PR issue, but one thing you could do is get creative, and while we’re not plumbers, we do find it curious that five geographically distinct WalMart stores have been closed in the past week for “ongoing plumbing issues that will require extensive repairs.”
Here’s more from a local CBS affiliate:
10 News called the county. Officials say they have no record of any code or permit violation at the Brandon location.
And when 10 News was at the Walmart Tuesday, there were no marked septic trucks or plumbing vehicles in the lot.
"Where is everybody if they're supposed to be working on everything where are all the trucks?" asked shopper Melissa Dupuis.
10 News asked a Walmart spokesperson whether the five stores were built from the same design, whether they had the same contractor, anything to understand why all of them closed on the same day for "plumbing issues."
The only thing they have in common, the spokesperson said are the highest number of plumbing incidents.
Leaving some customers to wonder "how many things have they not said. That's scary," said shopper Norma Espinosa.
And here’s more from a local ABC report in Florida:
BRANDON, Fla. - Employees of a Walmart in Brandon that abruptly closed Monday were among more than 2,000 employees nationwide who learned almost simultaneously they were being laid off.
In a nearly identical manner at every store, Walmart corporate officials visited the five locations, called an impromptu meeting in the back of the store and told employees that the stores would be closing that evening.
Besides Brandon, the affected locations were in Pico Rivera, Calif., Livingston, Texas, Midland, Texas, Tulsa, Okla.
“The issues mostly relate to clogs and water leaks in the plumbing - we’ve had persistent issues over the last several years,“ said a Walmart spokesperson said.
“These incidents impact the availability of water and create drainage issues for critical areas of the store which impacts our ability to serve customers,” she said.
“Normally, we do our best to avoid disrupting a store’s operations. However, given this particular store had one of the highest incidences of plumbing issues in the entire fleet and in order to reduce the costs associated with these incidents, we felt it was in the store’s best interest to invest in making the necessary improvements to resolve these issues,” the spokesperson said.
The I-Team has learned that none of the five affected stores have sought any plumbing permits for future repairs.
“We’re in a holding pattern. We’re anxious to learn exactly what they’re planning,” said Pico Rivera City Manager James Enriquez, when we contacted him about the store’s closing Tuesday.
Enriquez says when Walmart notified the city Monday that it was closing the store, he offered his full support in trying to get it back open.
“My building official walked out there and didn’t see any work being done,” he said.
So there you have it, “clogs and water leaks” but no plumbing permits and 2,000 affected employees, many of whom were presumably just given the news that they would be getting a raise only to discover that they will get 60 days of pay before they’ll need to find a job at another WalMart location (hopefully one with no plumbing issues) or find other employment. We’ll leave it to readers to discern if these “clogs and leaks” are real or whether the company is just quietly shutting down stores across the country.

Low flow thrones and no liquidity is a recipe for a catastrophic flow stoppage, which inevitably leads to emergency sessions of forcible toxic paper acceptance, and a general bad odor wafting out of what used to be a market.
Best part is when knukles toilet won't flush because he's retired in a desert.
Oh, you thought water flowed forever in Cali? Nah, no luck dumb white boy...'
Wait until a few of the clowns in WM HQ start squealing publicly about their supply 'issues'.
The poorest and most vulnerable American consumers are like that guy walking around AZ yesterday with the rifle to his head. The last sound they will ever hear will be the DHS cruiser jumping the curb and approaching their ass from behind at 45 MPH.

Maybe the next topic's title could be: "Is ZeroHedge mysteriously deleting comments it does not like?" or "Has Obama's mysterious hacker army taken over ZeroHedge?"
Jesus...I can only take so much.
Vag - cams in a Wal-Mart?
You are hideous!
It would be interesting to see the P & Ls for individual WMT stores. I'm going to guess that these are the five least profitable WMT stores in the country (least able to cope with raised wages).
On the other hand, about ten years ago, they closed a WMT about four towns over from where I grew up. My old man would occassionally shop there since it was conveniently located on the way home from work. They moved the store two towns over. Manager of the new location claimed it was due excessive theft. I don't know if that's true though.
Plumbing is a tongue in cheek reference to "wet work". My god they haven't updated this horrible plan in 16 years. This is part of poorly cobbled together insurrection control plan for Y2K. They haven't updated it in 16 years. That's the real story here folks. They are so bassackwards and lazy they just grabbed something off the shelf and I literally mean a 3 ring binder covered with dust off the shelf.
Walmart is feeling the pinch. Even at our local one, which has been open 8 years or so and is relatively nice, they removed a bunch of cashiers and put in self check out.
This is just a way they can condemn them and close them without calling it a layoff.
They have to do it this way because Walmart isn't IBM. IBM lays off 10k now and nobody bats an eye. Back in the early 90s when they did, people lost their mind. Many thought it was against the law for IBM to actually lay people off.
Walmart has that image now too. They only close a store to move into a better one.
They never just close them after they sucked the local area dry.
This is a cheap way to get them to do so without sounding alarms. Next year it will be bird infestations, or electrical issues. Anything to keep from saying Walmart is contracting.
pods
So Wally World has finally reached its peak and saturation point?
All LatinoMarts. ...no ebt's ?
Ours used to be open 24 hours, they ended that last year.
Next year? Probably in the next couple of months. 5 stores a quarter for different reasons I bet.
I'm dissapointed you even know what the inside of a wallmart looks like pods.
Well sometimes you need something and they have it. I have a super bat cave way in and out too. Garden center is the way. One Saturday we needed milk too so we had to walk to the opposite corner, that's when I noticed the new checkout system.
There was another one a bit further away, and more rural. That one was fun to go to just for kicks.
Where else could you see a cowboy, bearded lady, and a teen something wearing a black bra with a see through shirt over it (yeah, I liked the 80s).
I hate crowds, and most people in general, so I use Amazon as much as I can.
But, you got me. :)

Peak 'free trade'.
The best part pods, is where you type your name again, like some aging grandpa in the golden age of telegrams.
LOL.
Probably don't even know you do it, you're so fucking old...
Ha! I grew up in Brandon Fl, that Walmart was a shithole 10 years ago, along with the surrounding area...
There is one in North Fort Myers Florida that is a real shithole too. Im surprized that one is still open. But I must say as shitty as it is it is busy all the time.
Why didn't they invest (oh no!!!) into upgrades?
Chinamart is shit. Same as all of Apple. Two birds of a feather.
Did you just say shithole in a thread about plumbing problems?
I see what you did there.

BTW, it looks like Zero Hedge's newest cleaning intern wiped the prior days history of comments. I'm not seeing anything that predates today. Including my own.
Could be a hack honestly or maybe an accident.
This article did get a lot of attention and all the comments were erased:

ZH is still here doing what it does best, so I'm more inclined to think someone like the Oligarch controlled NSA is the cause.
We'll see.
I find the wiping of comments telling:
1) (Most likely) technology being technology and sometimes this shit just breaks. ZH is based out of Romania, so its possible they ran out of 4 day old puppies to sell at train stations and started raiding server farms.
2) Tyler delted it for our own protection, as he knows something we don't.
3) NSA/CIA/etc., etc.,
4) This weekend is it and this whole fucking thing is about to burn to the ground.
My bet is #1.

It was erased for the excellent copy paste of the "Jewish problem over the last 2 centuries and beyond".
This one. Enjoy.
CICERO (Marcus Tullius Cicero). First century B.C. Roman stateman, writer.
"Softly! Softly! I want none but the judges to hear me. The Jews have already gotten me into a fine mess, as they have many other gentleman. I have no desire to furnish further grist for their mills." (Oration in Defense of Flaccus)
and on another occasion Cicero wrote:
"The Jews belong to a dark and repulsive force. One knows how numerous this clique is, how they stick together and what power they exercise through their unions. They are a nation of rascals and deceivers."
SENECA (Lucius Annaeus Seneca). First century Roman philosopher.
"The customs of that most criminal nation have gained such strength that they have now been received in all lands. The conquered have given laws to the conquerors." (De Superstitione)
DIODORUS SICULUS. First century Greek historian.Observed that Jews treated other people as enemies and inferiors.
"Usury" is the practice of lending money at excessive interest rates. This has for centuries caused great misery and poverty for Gentiles. It has brought strong condemnation of the Jews!
BERNARDINO OF FELTRO. 15th century Italian priest. A mild man who extolled patience and charity in normal circumstances, he described himself as a "barking dog" when dealing with Jews:
"Jewish usurers bleed the poor to death and grow fat on their substance, and I who live on alms, who feed on the bread of the poor, shall I then be mute before outraged charity? Dogs bark to protect those who feed them, and I, who am feed by the poor, shall I see them robbed of what belongs to them and keep silent?" (E. Flornoy, Le Bienbeureux Bernardin the Feltre)
AQUINAS, THOMAS, Saint. 13th century scholastic philosopher. In his "On the Governance of the Jews," he wrote:
"The Jews should not be allowed to keep what they have obtained from others by usury; it were best that they were compelled to worked so that they could earn their living instead of doing nothing but becoming avaricious."
H. H. BEAMISH, in New York Speech, October 30, 1937
"The Boer War occurred 37 years ago. Boer means farmer. Many criticized a great power like Britain for trying to wipe out the Boers. Upon making inquiry, I found all the gold and diamond mines of South Africa were owned by Jews; that Rothschild controlled gold; Samuels controlled silver, Baum controlled other mining, and Moses controlled base metals. Anything these people touch they inevitably pollute."
W. HUGHES, Premier of Australia, Saturday Evening Post, June 19, 1919
"The Montefiores have taken Australia for their own, and there is not a gold field or a sheep run from Tasmania to New South Wales that does not pay them a heavy tribute. They are the real owners of the antipodean continent. What is the good of our being a wealthy nation, if the wealth is all in the hands of German Jews?"
FRANZ LISZT, famed composer quoted in Col. E. N. Sanctuary's Are These Things So?, page 278
"The day will come when all nations amidst which the Jews are dwelling will have to raise the question of their wholesale expulsion, a question which will be one of life or death, good health or chronic disease, peaceful existence or perpetual social fever."
JESUS CHRIST, speaking to the Jews in the Gospel of St. John, VIII:44
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is not truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it. - then answered the Jews - "
(which makes it clear that Christ was addressing the Jews.)
MARTIN LUTHER, Table Talk of Martin Luther, translated by William Hazlet, page 43
"But the Jews are so hardened that they listen to nothing; though overcome by testimonies they yield not an inch. It is a pernicious race, oppressing all men by their usury and rapine. If they give a prince or magistrate a thousand florins, they extort twenty thousand from the subjects in payment. We must ever keep on guard against them."
ST. JOHN, Gospel of St. John VII:1
"After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry because the Jews sought to kill him."
MARIA THERESA, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia (1771 - 1789)
"Henceforth no Jew, no matter under what name, will be allowed to remain here without my written permission. I know of no other troublesome pest within the state than this race, which impoverished the people by their fraud, usury and money-lending and commits all deeds which an honorable man despises. Subsequently they have to be removed and excluded from here as much as possible."
(The Universal Jewish Encyclopedia states that "The Talmud is the real "bible" of the Jews and that it supersedes the Old Testament. This volume has been condemned down through the ages for preaching hatred for Christ and all Christians. Read "THE TALMUD UNMASKED" for the full shocking details.)
NASTA WEBSTER, in Secret Societies and Subversive Movements, page 370
"The Jewish conception of the Jews as the Chosen People who must eventually rule the world forms indeed the basis of Rabbinical Judaism... The Jewish religion now takes its stand on the Talmud rather than on the Bible."
WASHINGTON, GEORGE, in Maxims of George Washington by A. A. Appleton & Co.
"They (the Jews) work more effectively against us, than the enemy's armies. They are a hundred times more dangerous to our liberties and the great cause we are engaged in... It is much to be lamented that each state, long ago, has not hunted them down as pest to society and the greatest enemies we have to the happiness of America."
This prophecy, by Benjamin Franklin, was made in a "CHIT CHAT AROUND THE TABLE DURING INTERMISSION," at the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention of 1787. This statement was recorded in the dairy of Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, a delegate from South Carolina.
"I fully agree with General Washington, that we must protect this young nation from an insidious influence and impenetration. The menace, gentlemen, is the Jews.
In whatever country Jews have settled in any great number, they have lowered its moral tone; depreciated its commercial integrity; have segregated themselves and have not been assimilated; have sneered at and tried to undermine the Christian religion upon which that nation is founded, by objecting to its restrictions; have built up a state within the state; and when opposed have tried to strangle that country to death financially, as in the case of Spain and Portugal.
For over 1,700 years, the Jews have been bewailing their sad fate in that they have been exiled from their homeland, as they call Palestine. But gentlemen, did the world give it to them in fee simple, they would at once find some reason for not returning. Why? Because they are vampires, and vampires do not live on vampires. They cannot live only among themselves. They must subsist on Christians and other people not of their race.
If you do not exclude them from these United States, in their Constitution, in less than 200 years they will have swarmed here in such great numbers that they will dominate and devour the land and change our form of government, for which we Americans have shed our blood, given our lives our substance and jeopardized our liberty.
If you do not exclude them, in less than 200 years our descendants will be working in the fields to furnish them substance, while they will be in the counting houses rubbing their hands. I warn you, gentlemen, if you do not exclude Jews for all time, your children will curse you in your graves.
Jews, gentlemen, are Asiatics, let them be born where they will nor how many generations they are away from Asia, they will never be otherwise. Their ideas do not conform to an American's, and will not even thou they live among us ten generations. A leopard cannot change its spots. Jews are Asiatics, are a menace to this country if permitted entrance, and should be excluded by this Constitutional Convention.
JEFFERSON, THOMAS. 18th century American statesman.
"Dispersed as the Jews are, they still form one nation, foreign to the land they live in. " (D. Boorstin, THE AMERICANS)
"Those who labor in the earth are the Chosen People of God, if ever he had a chosen people. " (NOTES ON VIRGINIA)
BEAMISH, HENRY H. 20th century British publisher.
"There is no need to be delicate on this Jewish question. You must face them in this country. The Jew should be satisfied here. I was here forty-seven years ago; your doors were thrown open and you were then free. Now he has got you absolutely by the throat - that is their reward. " (New York speech, October 30, 1937)
WALTER CRICK, British Manufacturer, in the NORTHAMPTON DAILY ECHO, March 19. 1925)
"Jews can destroy by means of finance. Jews are International. Control of credits in this country is not in the hands of the English, but of Jews. It has become the biggest danger the British Empire ever had to face."
WORLD FAMOUS MEN of the past accused the Jews of founding Communism. This charge is well founded. The Communist philosopy was drawn up by Karl Marx who descended from a long line of Rabbis. His ideology of anti-Christian and Socialist thought is outlined in the Jewish "TALMUD" which is the "bible" of the Jews. Of the four political groups which overthrew the Christan Czar of Russia two were 100% Jewish. They were the Mensheviks and The Jewish Bund. The other two were the Socialist Revolutionary Party and the Bolsheviks. Both were headed by Jews but had some Gentile members. Today we now know that Lenin was Jewish and all of the leaders of his first government were Jews. They were Trotsky, Zinoviev, Kamenev and Sverdlow. The wealthiest Jewish banker in the world at that time, Jacob Schiff of Kuhn, Loeb investment bank of New York City, gave Trotsky and Lenin $20 million to overthrow the Czar and establish the Soviet tyranny (according to the "NEW YORK JOURNAL-AMERICAN" of February 3, 1949.)
There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creating of Bolshevism and in the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution by these international and for the most part atheistic Jews.
BAKUNYIN, MIKHYL. 19th century Russian revolutionary.
"Marx is a Jew and is surrounded by a crowd of little, more or less intelligent, scheming, agile, speculating Jews, just as Jews are everywhere, commercial and banking agents, writers, politicians, correspondents for newspapers of all shades; in short, literary brokers, just as they are financial brokers, with one foot in the bank and the other in the socialist movement, and their arses sitting upon the German press. They have grabbed hold of all newspapers, and you can imagine what a nauseating literature is the outcome of it.
Now this entire Jewish world, which constitutes an exploiting sect, a people of leeches, a voracious parasite, Marx feels an instinctive inclination and a great respect for the Rothschilds. This may seem strange. What could there be in common between communism and high finance? Ho ho! The communism of Marx seeks a strong state centralization, and where this exists there must inevitably exist a state central bank, and where this exists, there the parasitic Jewish nation, which speculates upon the labor of the people, will always find the means for its existence...
WILHELM II. German Kaiser.
The Jews are responsible for Bolshevism in Russia, and Germany too. I was far too indulgent with them during my reign, and I bitterly regret the favors I showed the prominent Jewish bankers." (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, July 2, 1922)
HILAIRE BELLOC, renown historian in G. K.'s WEEKLY, February 4, 1937
"The propaganda of Communism throughout the world, in organization and direction is in the hands of Jewish agents. As for anyone who does not know that the Bolshevist movement in Russia is Jewish, I can only say that he must be a man who is taken in by the suppression of our deplorable press."
A. HOMER, writes in Judaism and Bolshevism, page 7
"History shows that the Jew has always been, by nature, a revolutionary and that, since the dispersion of his race in the second century, he has either initiated or assisted revolutionary movements in religion, politics and finance, which weakened the power of the States wherein he dwelt. On the other hand, a few far-seeing members of that race have always been at hand to reap financial and political advantage coincident with such upheavals."
MRS. CLARE SHERIDAN, Traveler, Lecturer in NEW YORK WORLD, December 15, 1923
"The Communists are Jews, and Russia is being entirely administered by them. They are in every government office, bureau and newspaper. They are driving out the Russians and are responsible for the anti-Semitic feeling which is increasing."
VLADIMIR, LENIN, Founder of Bolshevik Communist (From an article in Northern Pravda, October-December 1913, qouted in Lenin on the Jewish Question, page 10)
"There the great universally progressive features of Jewish culture have made themselves clearly felt: its internationalism, its responsiveness of the advanced movements of our times (the percentage of Jews in democratic and proletarian movements is everywhere higher than the percentage of Jews in the general population.)
...Those Jewish Marxists who join up in the international Marxist organizations with the Russian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian and other workers, adding their might (both in Russian and in Jewish) to the creation of an international culture of the working class movement, are continuing the best traditions of Jewry."
HENRY FORD in (The Dearborn Independent, 12-19 February 1921
"Jews have always controlled the business... The motion picture influence of the United States and Canada... is exclusively under the control, moral and financial, of the Jewish manipulators of the public mind."
H. H. BEAMISH, N.Y. speech, 1937
"Communism is Judaism. The Jewish Revolution in Russia was in 1918
GRANT, USYSSES S. 19th century American general, politician. While in command of the 13th Army Corps, headquartered at Oxford, Mississippi, he became so infuriated at Jewish camp-followers attempting to penetrate the conquered territory that he finally attempted to expel the Jews:
"I have long since believed that in spite of all the vigilance that can be infused into post commanders, the special regulations of the Treasury Department have been violated, and that mostly by Jews and other unprincipled traders. So well satisfied have I been of this that I instructed the commanding officers at Columbus to refuse all permits to Jews to come South, and I have frequently had them expelled from the department, but they come in with their carpet-sacks in spite of all that can be done to prevent it. The Jews seem to be a privileged class that can travel anywhere. They will land at any woodyard on the river and make their way through the country. If not permitted to buy cotton themselves, they will act as agents for someone else, who will be at military post with a Treasury permit to receive cotton and pay for it in Treasury notes which the Jew will buy up at an agreed rate, paying gold. (Letters to C. P. Wolcott, assistant secretary of war, Washington, December 17, 1862)
The expulsion order was immediately countermanded by the general-in-chief, H. W. Halleck, in Washington. Apparently the expelled Jews had immediately contacted their kinsmen there and had pressure brought to bear.
SHERMAN, WILLIAM T. 19th century American soldier. In a letter from Union-occupied Memphis, July 30, 1862, he wrote:
"I found so many Jews and speculators here trading in cotton, and secessionists had become so open in refusing anything but gold, that I have felt myself bound to stop it. The gold can have but one use - the purchase of arms and ammunition... Of course, I have respected all permits by yourself or the Secretary of the Treasury, but in these new cases (swarms of Jews), I have stopped it." (The Sherman Letters)
ROSS, L. F. 19th century American military man. As did Generals ULYSSES S. GRANT and WILLIAM T. SHERMAN, Ross confronted Jewish 'carpetbagging' cotton traders preying upon captured Confederate areas during the Civil War. In a letter to General John A. McClernand, he wrote:
"The cotton speculators are quite clamorous for aid in the getting their cotton away from Middleburg, Hickory Valley, etc., and offer to pay liberally for the service. I think I can bring it away with safety, and make it pay to the Government. As some of the Jew owners have as good as stolen the cotton from the planters, I have no conscientious scruples in making them pay liberally to take it away."
TWAIN, MARK (S. L. Clemens). 19th century American writer.
"In the U.S. cotton states, after the war... the Jew came down in force, set up shop on the plantation, supplied all the Negroes' wants on credit, and at the end of the season was the proprietor of the Negro's share of the present crop and part of the next one. Before long, the whites detested the Jew. (1)
The Jew is being legislated out of Russia. The reason is not concealed. The movement was instituted because the Christian peasant stood no chance against his commercial abilities. The Jew was always ready to lend on a crop. When settlement day came, he owned the crop; the next year he owned the farm - like Joseph. (2)
In the England of John's time everybody got into debt to the Jew. He gathered all lucrative enterprises into his hands. He was the King of Commerce. He had to be banished from the realm. For like reasons, Spain had to banish him 400 years ago, and Austria a couple of centuries later.
Protestants have persecuted Catholics - but they did not take their livelihoods away from them. Catholics have persecuted Protestants - bit they never closed agriculture and the handicrafts against them. I feel convinced that the Crucifixion has not much to do with the world's attitude toward the Jew; that the reasons for it are much older than that event ...
I am convinced that the persecution of the Jew is not in any large degree due to religious prejudice. No, the Jew is a money-getter. He made it the end and aim of his life. He was at it in Rome. He has been at it ever since. His success has made the whole human race his enemy.
("Concerning the Jews," Harper's Monthly Magazine, September 1899)
Twain's opinion on the Jews is probably the best-kept secret in American literary history. Immediately after his death, his eccentric daughter Clara married - or was married by - the Jewish piano player, Ossip Galbrilowitsch. Twain's publishers were given speedy instructions to delete "Concerning the Jews" from the collected works, where it had appeared in the book The Man that Corrupted Hadleybury & Other Stories. (1) Since Jews provided most of the agitators and orators who pushed forward the Abolition campaign that culminated in the Civil War (which Jewish bankers largely financed, on both sides), it seems a legitimate question whether there was any preplanning for the wholesale - and retail - economic looting done by mainly Jewish carpetbaggers after the war. (2) We have cited a host of other writers on the terrible economic depredation that Jewry visited on the people of Tzarist Russia.
MENCKEN, H. L. 20th century American writer.
"The Jews could be put down very plausibly as the most unpleasant race ever heard of. As commonly encountered they lack any of the qualities that mark the civilized man: courage, dignity, incorruptibility, ease, confidence. They have vanity without pride, voluptuousness without taste, and learning without wisdom. Their fortitude, such as it is, is wasted upon puerile objects, and their charity is mainly a form of display." (Treatise on the Gods)
SHAW, GEORGE BERNARD. 20th century British dramatist.
"This is the real enemy, the invader from the East, the Druze, the ruffian, the oriental parasite; in a word: the Jew. (London Morning Post, December 3, 1925)
This craving for bouquets by Jews is a symptom of racial degeneration. The Jews are worse than my own people. Those Jews who still want to be the chosen race (chosen by the late Lord Balfour) can go to Palestine and stew in their own juice. The rest had better stop being Jews and start being human beings. (Literary Digest, October 12, 1932)
FITZGERALD, F. SCOTT. 20th century American novelist.
"Down a tall busy street he read a dozen Jewish names on a line of stores; in the door of each stood a dark little man watching the passers from intent eyes - eyes gleaming with suspicion, with pride, with clarity, with cupidity, with comprehension. New York - he could not dissociate it from the slow, upward creep of this people - the little stores, growing, expanding, consolidating, moving, watched over with hawks' eyes and a bee's attention to detail"
EMERSON, RALPH WALDO. 19th century American philosopher, poet.
"The sufferance which is the badge of the Jew has made him, in these days, the ruler of the rulers of the earth. (Fate an essay)
WELLS, H. G. 20th century British writer.
"The Jews looked for a special savior, a messiah, who was to redeem mankind by the agreeable process of restoring the fabulous glories of David and Solomon, and bringing the whole world at last under the firm but benevolent Jewish heel." (The Outline of History)
"Zionism is an expression of Jewish refusal to assimilate. If the Jews have suffered, it is because they have regarded themselves as a chosen people." (The Anatomy of Frustration)
"A careful study of anti-Semitism prejudice and accusations might be of great value to many Jews, who do not adequately realize the irritations they inflict." (Letter of November 11, 1933)
Wells was in the habit of referring to KARL MARX as "a shallow third-rate Jew," and "a lousy Jew" in private correspondence. (Norman MacKenzie, H. G. Wells)
LINDBERGH, CHARLES. 20th century American aviator, writer.
Wednesday, August 23, 1939
"We are disturbed about the effect of the Jewish influence in our press, radio and motion pictures. It may become very serious. [Fulton] Lewis told us of one instance where the Jewish advertising firms threatened to remove all their advertising from the Mutual system if a certain feature were permitted to go on the air. The threat was powerful enough to have the feature removed."
Thursday, May 1, 1941
"The pressure for war is high and mounting. The people are opposed to it, but the Administration seems to have 'the bit in its teeth' and is hell-bent on its way to war. Most of the Jewish interests in the country are behind war, and they control a huge part of our press and radio and most of our motion pictures. There are the 'intellectuals' and the 'Anglophiles,' and the British agents who are allowed free rein, the international financial interests, and many others." (The Wartime Journals)
BONAPARTE, NAPOLEON. French statesman, general.
"The Jews provided troops for my campaign in Poland, but they ought to reimburse me: I soon found that they are no good for anything but selling old clothes..."
"Legislating must be put in effect everywhere that the general well-being is in danger. The government cannot look with indifference on the way a despicable nation takes possession of all the provinces of France. The Jews are the master robbers of the modern age; they are the carrion birds of humanity... "They must be treated with political justice, not with civil justice. They are surely not real citizens."
"The Jews have practiced usury since the time of Moses, and oppressed the other peoples. Meanwhile, the Christians were only rarely usurers, falling into disgrace when they did so. We ought to ban the Jews from commerce because they abuse it... The evils of the Jews do not stem from individuals but from the fundamental nature of this people." (From Napoleon's Reflections, and from speeches before the Council of State on April 30 and May 7, 1806.)
ROBERTS, STEPHEN H. 20th century Australian historian. Though hostile on almost every point to National Socialism, his The House that Hitler Built does admit that Jews were a menace in Germany:
"It is useless to deny that grave Jewish problems existed in Germany. The nation was in the unfortunate geographical position of being the first stage in the perennial push westward of the Polish Jews. Unless forced on, they tended to stop in Berlin and Hamburg, where they obtained an unduly share of good professional positions. In Berlin, for example, when the Nazi came to power, 50.2 percent of the lawyers were Jews. In medicine, 48 per cent of the doctors were Jews, and it was said that they systematically seized the principal hospital posts. The Jews owned the largest and most important Berlin newspapers, and they had made great inroads on the educational system."
H. H. BEAMISH, in a New York address, October 30 - November 1, 1937
"In 1848 the word "anti-Semitic" was invented by the Jews to prevent the use of the word "Jew." The right word for them is "Jew" ...
"I implore all of you to be accurate - call them Jews. There is no need to be delicate on this Jewish question. You must face them in this country. The Jew should be satisfied here. I was here forty-seven years ago; your doors were thrown open to the Jews and they were free. Now he has got you absolutely by the throat - that is your reward.
NESTA WEBSTER, in her book Germany and England
"England is no longer controlled by Britons. We are under the invisible Jewish dictatorship - a dictatorship that can be felt in every sphere of life."
HENRY WALLACE, Secretary of Commerce, under President Harry Truman, wrote in his dairy that in 1946
"Truman was "exasperated" over Jewish pressure that he support Zionist rule over Palestine. Wallace added "Pres. Truman expressed himself as being very much 'put out' with the Jews. He said that 'Jesus Christ couldn't please them when he was here on Earth, so how could anyone expect that I would have any luck?' Pres. Truman said he hand no use for them and didn't care what happened to them."
HENRY ADAMS (Descendant of President John Adams), in a letter to John Hay, October 1895
"The Jewish question is really the most serious of our problems."
CAPOTE, TRUMAN. 20th century American writer. In an interview, he assailed "the Zionist mafia" monopolizing publishing today, and protested a tendency to suppress things that do not meet with Jewish approval. (Playboy magazine, March 1968)
VOLTAIRE (Francois Marie Arouet) 18th century French philosopher, writer.
"Why are the Jews hated? It is the inevitable result of their laws; they either have to conquer everybody or be hated by the whole human race..."
"I know that there are some Jews in the English colonies. These marranos go wherever there is money to be made... But whether these circumcised who sell old clothes claim that they are of the tribe of Naphtali or Issachar is not of the slightest importance. They are, simply, the biggest scoundrels who have ever dirtied the face of the earth." (Letter to Jean-Baptiste Nicolas de Lisle de Sales, December 15, 1773. Correspondance. 86:166)
"They are, all of them, born with raging fanaticism in their hearts, just as the Bretons and the Germans are born with blond hair. I would not be in the least bit surprised if these people would not some day become deadly to the human race." (Lettres de Memmius a Ciceron, 1771)
Wow, I can't believe you copy/pasted a whole book on a forum. Link to your drivel next time please. -1
Nobody reads your bullshit man. Not even the jew hating fucker knukles has time for that shit.
Do you fellate yourself for every line you copy from somewhere else? It would make sense then...
Given that this is USSA, O could always issue another EO, mandating that affected companies eat the increase in wages, by adjusting the pay scales of its employee pool - including its execs.
Note that NO business model is 'entitled' to being predicated on Slave Wages. If High Tech (with white and blue collar employees) can do just fine with living wages for its employees, then so should the No Collar businesses.
Fuck the Neo-Plantation Oligarchs!
The dipshits who downvote you refuse to acknowledge that the inflationary policies of the last century, and the last 30 years in particular, are the only thing making manual labor worth "slave wages" in the marketplace. Skilled labor, asset holders and financials beefit from inflation while all lower level labor suffers. Give me a commodity backed currency with a fixed growth base and then we'll talk about the evils of the minimum wage.
Probably stores with employee theft problems ,, they''ll make them all re-apply when they re-open.
This is why I love ZH.
HUGE TURDS which will not be flushed. Soon enough Walmart will be hiring people to remove the HUGE TURDS from their toilets. Or to cut them up into smaller pieces.
Quite simple. Shoppers are not showing up. Wage "pressures" are rising. China goods on ebay are cutting price and putting pressure on Walmart tags.
But comes down to obfuscation. Business is down worldwide. These stores were not meeting targets BUT did not wish to alert to any consumer collapse charts on the stock....
Walmart sales are down. What to do? Disguise it to the shareholders and investors by closing low hanging fruit. With plumbing problems. Spread out the wage increase to stores that are above the drowning line.
Smoke and a few cheap mirrors/lies.
I looked into this. They are all stores trying to organize unions.
wHAT? yOU DON'T bELIeve ouR PlUMBing is CloGged? Have YoU Seen The Size OF our CUStormers?
Yeah, that's got to be it. I mean if some of these fat asses vacuum-seal themselves around a toilet and proceed to unload....... the plumbing, it just won't take it for long.
Have you been in a Walmart bathroom? The folks don't vacuum seal themselves to the toilet and let go. They barely get the door closed in the stall before they let go.
Fuck, man......that's just a form of graffiti the way I see it.
****deleted double post****
It will hire robots. That's why ...
Two words: self checkout
It came to ours Perry. Like 4 months ago I think. One crazy eyed lady to watch like 10 kiosks. No thanks.
pods
She'll need more meth!
Oh, you must be talking about this lady, at her other job.
http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=1a8_1429122867
two more: employee bathrooms
Seems like the most reasonable explanation. Robots and chipped products make checkout a breeze. Just takes a few months to retool the place.
"Bot-Mart."
Robots and chipped products make checkout a breeze.
Dude, they can't sell the shit they have. Whats spending on a new checkout system gonna accomplish when there are no customers???
W.T.F.
This must be the weirdest and most short-lived excuse ever!
I mean... how long did they think would it take for the emplyees to find out there's no plumbers working there?!
the news cycle is quite short these days.
good...I hate ghetto-mart.
Shut yo mouth, brotha'. For years, Wally world has been the 'go-to' place for all the local criminals. Thereby, making the rest of town relatively safe. This will make other areas far more dangerous as the crooks are forced to branch out.
Yeah, keeps the flies off our watermelons.
WHy? because it's a recovery.
easiest question ever
That's true. Things going so well around here we all just jump in our gyrocopters and fly to New York to shop.
In fact ,Uncle Dougie just went off in his to the Walmart to buy some more pistol ammo. Should be back anytime now.
Might be a good place to stuff people if some op goes live...I wonder which one that could be. Nothing is ever as it seems. So you can toss the plumbing issue.
plausible. maybe even semi-prescient.
Well, if your revenues don't change and you insist on giving all employees a raise, then math dictates that you must have fewer employees.
Walmart runs on a very tight profit margin and things can go negative but in our system now if you admit that you closed an unprofitable store Wall St, will hammer your ass, and with the bonus seeking wimps running the company, expect a K-mart type escape from reality......
+1
K-mart was ahead of its time. All the big boxes are going that way even including Costco.
Welcome to Costco.
I love you.
I though Wall Street always rewarded a company for firing people?
negative cash flow? no problem buy some nirp bonds and make up for it on volume, lol
Well, if your revenues don't change and you insist on giving all employees a raise, then math dictates that you must have fewer employees.
Or you could put a moratorium on raises and bonuses for your executive staff and highly paid logistical and upper management employees. Or heaven forbid tell them times are tough and we need a 5% pay reduction. Keep going after labor as is the status quo, and eventually you've got no consumer base for Walmart or anyone else...
Bullshit walks
And money talks!
Bullshit walks and diarrhea runs.
And water seeks its level....just before it dries up.
Sometimes shit just backs up!
they let people camp in the parking lots....probably have turned the restrooms into full service bathrooms for unemployed transients....happened in AZ

Have a friend that runs a plumbing company, they have a contract to service all the Walmarts in the area. He bitchs about how obnoxious it is to do business with them, which is so bad that he will not renew the contract once it expires. He complains about how they try to skimp on what is needed when there are plumbing issues, and since they cheapen the job, that there are always plumbing issues with them.
I can believe. My Bank used to handle the deposit accounts for a local walmart. They were so hard to work with we said to hell with them. Last time I heard the bank they went to said the samething after 6 months.
I once called General Electric's real estate dept in Connecticut about an office warehouse for their abrasives division, I think they did industrial diamonds. It was a weird but intreesting building. They were the most rude fux. The Mafia would be more pleasant to deal with. IBM in upstate NY was somewhat similiar. I swear they were run by the mob or just emulated the mob. It was their credit union. It seem like they were a money laundering front for the five families in Manhattan. Totally weird.
Mob was big in Upstate:

I found one in a walmart toilet that must've come from a 6'7" guy who was really into anal fisting. I tried to flush it. Wouldn't fit. Just gurgled.
At that point I decided not to fiddle around with things I don't understand.
If you've got a 400lb friend, he's the guy you send into an establishment that pissed to take a shit. What goes in, must come out.
Bonus points if you can get him to do the "Truffle Shuffle" as well.
Low-flow toilets are engineered for low-flow assholes.
There is only so much shit you can push around a bend inside a 3" pipe at a given pressure.
No. This is the guy you send into an establisment to take a shit.
Was that 6'7" guy you?
FEMA staging points
watch those stores for inventory movement
At 3am, so nobody will notice.
ZH becoming more like Infowars everyday.
Not that theres anything wrong with that.
certainly not the advance tickler of the WSJ that it used to be....
nowadays, it is trending more towards the news quality of "dancing with the stars"....
I'd gladly pay them to shut the store near me. A visit there is like a vision of hell.
Those zombies are our neighbours... might be a deeper issue than just the WMT
I call ours"Wal-Martistan" or "Burka-mart."
Maybe for the same reason helicopters are flying overhead everywhere lately.
Just throw down already you tyrant motherfuckers. Barak or get off the pot.
Were those helicopter black and red by chance? Saw some recently and flying in formation along a major interstate a couple of weeks ago.
They were black but I didn't want to sound like a conspiracytard. Not that it matters much now I guess.
I see them in ones or twos zipping up and down, doing their important Empire work and whatnot.
Walmart's a victim of their own success. They managed to squeeze everybody to the point where nobody can afford to shop at their stores. Shopped at one lately? They aren't cheap.
Doc, to clarify you mean cheap as in prices right?
I think in terms of quality, if you put "cheap" into Wiki, it links to Walmart.
pods
Going to Walmart to shop is the "dread" of any day. The employees look "half dead". Have you noticed they do not clean up anymore (not that they did a good job before) and there are very few cashiers.
------------------------------
During the holidays ; they "bragged" about having more cashiers during the busiest time via big signs. I believe the working cashier is the "bread & butter"; they seem to forgot that part. This is the business model that K-mart followed and can you find one of those? I give Walmart another 10 years before K-mart buys them out.
---------------- It can be worse though; should be thankful and I am.------------------
Midland, TX location closed and donated all the food in the grocery section to the local food bank. Don't know about the disposition of any of the rest of the inventory.
FYI, they started neww employees at $15-17/hr due to wage inflation here in the oil patch. Even McDonalds is offering $9-14/hr depending on the shift and job.
Shouldn't they have donated it to the employees they were laying off although their employees were probably already clients of the local food bank.
"Livingston, Texas, Midland, Texas, Tulsa, Okla."
ALL of those are oil related areas! Think of that.
No, Livingston is just a shithole town. Too far away from the Haynesville/Cotton Valley to be included.
looks like all them closures
are equal distance apart
along the southern border ....
Sounds legit.
Maybe stealth store closings like one sees in small local stores?!
"Closed for Remodelling,' but never reopen.
Perhaps these stores had low or no profits, or heavy union influence?!
The banksters need to repay us.
I can understand them not hiring plumbers to fix the problem right away but one would think they would at least be in negotiations with an insurance company and suing the crap out of the contractors and/or architects.
Might have a hard time with that if there were plumbing issues that were due to Walmart skimping.
Seriously, how many stores have they constructed? They probably use the same construction firms and archetects. It could be skimping but I think this is BS cover story.
The real answer is :
A. They were marginal stores and they do not want to be shown to be closing stores.
B They are future FEMA camps. The Waltons are supporting Hillary. They know what is really going on in America. Get richer of EBT and want endless illegal aliens.
As far as Wal Mart business genius. They went up against the Catholic Albrecht family aka Aldi in Germany and got destroyed. Wal Mart left Germany beaten to a pulp. Aldi and their Trader Joes stores pay their employees well and treat them well. F Wal Mart!
If you are into drones check out this site : http://pickyourdrone.com/
You and your drones! I'll be interested when I can buy a Predator.
You don't really know the depravity of man until you see what some people can do to the toliet in a Walmart Public Restroom......*shudders*....
If you knew the word of God, then you would truly shudder.
----------------------------------------
10 as it is written:
There is no one righteous, not even one.
11 There is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away;
all alike have become useless.
There is no one who does what is good,
not even one.
13 Their throat is an open grave;
they deceive with their tongues.
Vipers’ venom is under their lips.
14 Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 ruin and wretchedness are in their paths,
17 and the path of peace they have not known.
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19 Now we know that whatever the law says speaks to those who are subject to the law, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment. 20 For no one will be justified in His sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.
------------------------------------NOW THAT IS MAN IN HIS DEPRAVITY AND WE ARE ALL GUILTY---------------
Can you buy Bibles at Walmart?
I dunno.. but you CAN buy the "The Official Vatican Observatory Foundation Walnut/Oak Poplar Casket, Sacred Heart I".
Apostle Paul was a pretty troubled guy. Conflating his words with the absolute was something he never would have anticipated or condoned.
Vague generalized philosophy totally applies to this Wally Market situation.
Mission accomplished.
"Detention pickup on Aisle 8."
"We need to close these Walmarts to find out what's in them."
" We found out what is in them, we wont be returning anytime soon."
Wal Mart is full of shit.
Now confirmed.
walmart
full of lost dreams..
Was in a Walmart one Saturday afternoon. They had one...yes...one single cash register open of 30. The line was long, people were complaining, and it was obvious they were incredibly understaffed.
The customers get payed better on food stamps, so why work there?
Earth to daveO, it's not a choice of either/or. Do you understand how 'welfare' even works today?
Here's your reward for working at Wal*Mart: four out of five employees QUALIFY for welfare programs (from 2014).
I take great joy in the fact that Aldi kicked the living shit out of Wal Mart and WMT fled Germany. Aldi was started by Mrs Albrecht and her two sons amid the rubble of bombed out Germany. The family are devout Catholics who shun publicity. They pay their employees well at their Aldi grocery stores and Trader Joes stores.
I know a friend of a friend's son who was treated like shit when he worked at Whole Foods for a short period of time. I hope Trader Joes keeps expanding and kicks the shit out of Whole Foods. F Wal Mart and F Whole Foods.
The customers get payed better on welfare, so why work there?
Any time I go to a store and the lines are long, I just leave. I just put down the basket of goods or let go of the cart, and head staight to the door.
Fuck em. If my time isn't respected they lose the business and can re-shelve the products.
You can always load a Flat Screen TeeVee in a cart, place two Five Gallon Jumbo size Ice Cream Containers upside down on top of the flat screen, park the cart in Toys, pretend that you had an emergency phone call, and then leave...
But first make sure that you first use the rest Room, take an entire roll of Toilet Paper and place that into a toilet, shit on top of it, cover it with the extra roll of toilet paper, and flush three times for good measure.
I mean that if you want to create extra work, mayhem, and havoc for the employees of an understaffed store then you might as well be as destructive as possible while you are at it, right?
If the store is crowded in the first place then why go through the trouble of loading a cart? (Now I would not. I am situationally aware.) So it does indicate your motive to load the cart, doesn't it?
Do you like wasting your time? (You claim that as the excuse for your destructive behavior.) I do not think so. I thik that you like USING YOUR TIME to exact revenge because you were inconvenienced, pussy. Wait until it gets harder? Then what will you do?
You certainly have no capacity t take it to extremes. (I do.)
Of course I understand...It is all about YOU and YOUR TIME.
What a fucking, self indulgent, sniveling, little whiner.
Layoff and rehire cheaper? Or store closures due to oil layoffs? Plenty of Floridians working in OK and TX oilpatch.
Municipal sewage and water are known to be subsidies to Walmart, which they obtained before setting up in any particular region.
There was one Walmart near me that was built on reclaimed landfill. The gasses that escaped though the floor were making employees violently ill. One person working in a back area that wasn't well vented died because the methane level reached lethal levels.
Walmart only closed that store after the employee died and only because of the lawsuit filed. The "plumbing" excuse to close these stores doesn't pass the sniff test.
I've seen some real crappy fire sprinkler installs at walmart that are out of spec. One thing I first thought of when hearing about this was a whistleblower.
Can't find where anyone died...

Everything is AwSum......when your on the $ 15 an hour TEAM...heh heh.
You ain't on a fucking team unless you are wearing a baseball cap or a football helmet!
Close for a while, then reopen hiring new people. Who have been out of work for years. Hire them at lower wages until someone complains (the new hires sure won't) then pay a small fine.
Rinse and repeat, sucking the life out of everything and everyone for as long as possible until one day they roll in the guillotines.
We've really come a long way since the Chicago meat packing plants in Sinclair's "The Jungle!" (At least you're not in danger of losing an arm at the cash register.)
more symptoms of deflation - fix it yellen!!
Can't the city planners Force Walmart to reopen within a certain time frame, or face fines/penalties/prison/Charles Schoomer ire, etc...? Isn't that how it's done...? Maybe a social media smear campaign for refusing to employ workers, ala queer wedding cake-refusal fiasco...?
Maybe they could set the prices too! Venezuela anyone?
Isn't there some bullshit about giving notice when closing a business and laying off employees?
I know that happens in New York State
Not if the company claims circumstances beyond it's control, i.e, some kind of 'emergency' or health & safety stuff.
Headbanger and Ob1knob addressed this above in the comments. "...if the closing or mass layoff is caused by business circumstances that were not reasonably foreseeable as of the time that notice would have been required...," so no notice is needed. Which is bullshit but labor laws only apply to small businesses, not the big guys.
Note Wal*Mart didn't notify any employees beforehand. It was pretty much "...at the end of your shift..." yesterday for the employees at work. Today, the employees just saw a sign on the locked front door. They'll get a few to help pack up the merch or pack the perishables, but everyone else is gone. Pharma is open at a few places through a side fire door for another week or two for people to pick up perscription refills. Pharmacies usually have a couple full-timers. Every store closing also affects a hundred local contractors or so - everything from janitors to plumbers.
Walmart has 1000 more stores than it needs and all of them are operating on the smallest staff possible. The only real employees are there to stock the shelves and move pallets. They are trying to only have two cashiers available in each store. One to man a single full checkout lane and the other watches over the self checkout. Many locations have also removed the second pharmacist and have a cashier to help the pharmacist. The vision departments are all closing or have become appointment only.
There is serious trouble at Walmart. I said a few years ago that very soon just the business of being Walmart would cost more than the potential revenue the company could generate. This pay raise is going to put the company over the edge.
Target has decided to gouge consumers with higher prices. Each department has pushed along massive price increases. Even the Target brand items have skyrocketed.
Vendors don't have any margin to spare. There is no reason to keep the doors open if you are forced to sell product at negative margin. Companies can't work like European countries. Thanks to The Fed and other central banks the economy is just going to stop. Like a tsunami the cost of doing business is going to wipe out everything. You'll wake up and see store closing lists in the thousands. Those stores that remain open won't have anything on the shelves because there won't be any vendors left to fill them. There will be a massive scramble by the big box retailers to purchase brand identities and source product direct from Asia. The brands will be happy to sell off their IP so the management can split the sale and cash out.
That is your future. It will happen and it will happen soon.
yeah, it's going to look like Venezuela in a few (days, weeks, months, years.) Everything is going to cost "normal" prices in fiat there just won't be anything on the shelves available for sale or any stores open to sell it.
Yes and it will happen 6 weeks after The Fed raises rates.
best response on this thread hands down
I am not sure if the other fellow who wrote the above wrote a post over a year ago predicting this with WMT. The whole China, squeezing vendors, FIAT, EBT and distribution chain for WMT was bound to crash one day.
China's yaun appreciation cannot be helping.
I'm already finding this to be true in the little store I run. My vendors tell me they can't find the products we've carried for years anymore. Everytime I place an order at least several items go on backorder.
