The S(chizophrenic) & P(sychotic) 500
Does this behavior look like a market that is pricing-in a Fed rate hike?
Total Schizophrenia...
and if you're wondering what catalyzed this latest 350 point ramp in The Dow?
Perfect bounce on Friday off the Payrolls cliff edge... and machines then auctioned stocks up to Friday's cliff edge in search of sellers...

Those smart chaps at PIMCO coined a word for it...this is called the NEW NORMAL!....before they left the sinking ship! (or is that the stinking ship?)
It's the Stinking Sinking Shit Ship.
I'm making over $7k a month working part time. I kept hearing other people tell me how much money they can make online so I decided to look into it. Well, it was all true and has totally changed my life. This is what I do... www.globe-report.com
AAPL having a blast of a day taking all the shorts that went in on Friday out to the woodshed. AAPL is really all that matters now.
Markets by Orwell and analysis by Huxley. The S&P should be 2500 in a few weeks......
obviously there will be the mother of short squeezes if it breaks out higher and these markets love to go for the low hanging fruit..... long stops are miles away....
Just be ready to BTFD again. The CB's will crash this casino when they are ready and not a minute sooner.
I don't think a better title is to be had...
So, a straight up moonshot higher to start the day and levitation throughout the trading day??
Seems like the new normal to me...
Total bullshit!! I need to stop tracking everything so closely because it just pisses me off!
"Total bullshit!! I need to stop tracking everything so closely because it just pisses me off!"
bingo bro'...im right fucking there with u.....
This is what central bank open market operations look like.
and now it trades sideways in a perfect straight manner...
fucking hilarious....
and, and what was the negative Gold and Silver news/data this morning??????
yeah, i thought so......
NFLX is grea...oh wait...shit.
lol. sad but trew.
Aapl is thy catalyst.
W/ mid-day volume 1/3 of daily avgs, easy for most extreme stops (i.e., the gaps) to be hit on any CB positive news in computer-driven mkts.
Current levels would leave muddled daily technicals for SPY, but still bearish for other indices. One wonders if a 2nd half reversal back to DMAs is in the cards today, or if 'somebody' want to push this to limits.
I picked up some TNA puts right around that first fail of the 61.8 fib retracement between 4/15 high and Fridays low this morning around 11:30am (@92.91 was what I had for the 61.8).
Figured they would spike it today and that level was a decent fill of Fridays gap down as well. Unfortnately I hedged out my deep in the money puts last week on
Thursday (perfect timing) and missed out on a 2/3 of what could have been if left unhedged... Sat there thursday into the close thinking, go ahead and pick up some of those dirt cheap 93 puts on the other side of my hedge going
into the close...go figure.
Feels like we are in a topping pattern...this chop keeps most from being too short on the good down days.
Was too timid to join you, but it would seem if we're to ultimately head lower, big boys would re-short the gap, and if the reverse is true, then a reasonable stop for gap re-shorts is a good trade to make. Got so annoyed with RUT that I switched to the QQQs last week, thus far I'm likin' it, goin' from IWM to QQQs analogous to a baseball on-deck hitter taking a donut-weight off his bat -- the 'swings' are easier to make (at least I hope). Best of luck to you.
You too. I have been annoyed as well...to much like a crap shoot and way too much strike pinning in the RUT (all instruments)
Been waiting for oil to take another dump and then planning on playing some USO options spreads.
Like you, trying to find some sanity in this casino.
No way to know for sure sittin' at my humble desk here in Ohio, but I suspect major public funds, including overseas, have been doing major reallocation programs from lg to small cap due to the $dollar, and given many are less 'sophisticated' than daily algos you and I are used to, it messes wi/ standard setups and levels. The other option would be new, better predatory IWM algos, but you'd think we'd see that in the other indices, which have remained mostly tradable.
RUT also broke significantly below that Accending Wedge cooking on the 1yr Daily on Friday, could be suggesting a trend change, but looks like not without a bit of chop/fight
BREAKING NEWS....
"Frederick’s of Hollywood Group Inc., known for its racy women’s lingerie, filed for bankruptcy after closing all its stores and reaching a deal to sell the company as an online-only venture to Authentic Brands Group LLC.
The Los Angeles-based company notified customers on its website that it had closed all its brick-and-mortar locations. The company listed $36.5 million in assets and $106 million in debt in Chapter 11 papers filed Sunday in U.S. bankruptcy court in Wilmington, Delaware."
now u know why the Fraud Markets rocketed this morning...
ur welcome.
"Does this behavior look like a market that is pricing-in a Fed rate hike?"
It looks like it is reacting to every little FED open mouth market manipulation.
So KNX news radio says this morning, that Bullard said that removing "patient" doesn't mean impatient.
Everybody knew that already, so there was no reason to restate it, except to goose the market, after a bad Friday.
The whole industry needs wide swings to force short term volume - can't have a long term positions anymore - savers and conservative investors being sacrificed.
Days or weeks, not months.
There is no such thing as catalyst.
This is a centrally commanded system like Playstation or Xbox
LOL!!! Well that playstation consumes a shitload of calories/energy....
tick tock motherfucker...
You said it would be days or weeks, days or weeks ago. I want collapse now!
That looks like the healthy heartbeat of the market!
Does the market look like it's pricing in a Fed rate hike? Well shit bro, it would help if you looked at a market that priced Fed rate hikes...
It's hackneyed analysis like this that really pisses me off.
This is what you would expect in a high risk market that is high priced. Buy dips, sell highs, repeat.
Scotty we are going to need more Warp drive....but captain the printers can't handle it.
you know the fat lady is tuning up when US "blue chips" are reacting to Chinese banking policy changes
Just call me the Running Bear ... roller coaster rides are supposed to be fun
The future of investing = scalping, just like the banksters do.
Please, simply "saking out the weak hands"....
s/
there is no market, period.
Right on cue! Market gets hit Friday and the New York Fed comes out with market-soothing statements the next trading day. Coincidence?
" Market Soars", "best day since last algo squeeze", "even after seven years this shit never gets old", "pass the fairy dust", "welcome to diryfuckerville have a nice day".
