Caught On Tape: Cop Grabs, Smashes Phone Of Woman Recording Him
"He told me that I had to go. He said I was interfering with their investigation and I told [him] that I was on a public sidewalk and I had the right to film them.." And then this happened...
As MyFOXLA reports,
Beatriz Paez says she was doing nothing wrong taking video of U.S. Marshal executing warrants on San Juan Avenue Sunday. She saw people in handcuffs. “Around 8 people including women were held at gunpoint on their stomachs with their hands held behind their back,” says Paez.
But, when one marshal saw her recording, “He told me that I had to go. And, I told him I had the right to film and he said I was interfering with their investigation and I told them that I was on a public sidewalk and I had the right to film them.”
...the courts have consistently held that the First Amendment protects citizens' right to record the police when they're on the job. The police can't stop you unless you're interfering with their work -- and they can't take away your smart phone or delete the recordings just because you took video.
Police need a warrant to mess with the content of your cell phone.

The All Seeing Eye if Sauron Works Both Ways, Bitchez
<-Shit seems to be getting real. More cops are snapping and doing dumb stuff.
<-Or maybe this is same as it always was and they are just being recorded doing it now.
Once again the reporting on this site is somewhat biased and problematic. Respected media outlets need to get in on the alternative media revolution. I believe traditional media could really increase its popularity by having alternative media style four-way Skype discussions with real people. Traditional media needs to get cool again - and people need to feel that they are having an impact on the news that is covered. What makes alternative media so popular is the feeling that it is driven by a community - we need to emulate this if we are going to survive and thrive in the digital age. Traditional media has failed to tap into the internet revolution, but it's not too late to turn things around.

The only thing that stops this behavior is being able to personally sue a cop and get his assets as oppossed to settlements with tax payer dollars.
or
Being able to sue the cops pension fund, so his buddies then bust his chops!
The same needs to happen with commercial software Giants like Microsoft and Oracle. These companies need to start going for the open-source grassroots look and feel in order to get young smart programmers to use their technologies. Microsoft is losing the 'cool' battle with young technologists and although the impact may be minimal now, in the long term companies like Microsoft could find themselves on the sidelines.
You were not missed!

.
The phone’s screen was shattered and the device stopped working, said Paez’s attorney, Colleen Flynn. They plan to try to recover the video Paez was recording from the phone’s chip, Flynn said.
Paez said she began recording when she saw the law enforcement presence, their military-style weapons and a line of people being detained. ***She said the officers started letting the people they detained go soon after she pulled out her phone and started recording.***
.
Why did the officers started letting the people they detained go soon after she pulled out her phone and started recording?
Why get so upset/violent of someone recording you - if you are just letting people go anyway?

Bizzare
Tylers- It's time for an article on the Wisconsin "John Doe" raids. Seriously. It's time. I'm hearing bits and pieces of it everywhere but on here. And it's 10X more chilling than a bad cop doing bad cop stuff all on his own like smashing somebody's phone.
We only have a right to photograph "their good side"
looks like heisenberg toasted a samsung...next
If it were the we would smash that dumb b**** face in.

The cop later confessed, " I thought she was holding a chocolate glazed donut filled with cream." The officer's lawyer said, " It's a normal law enforcement reaction to an 'attractive nuisance' like this so I'm sure the jury will acquitt him."
The lawyer said he'll follow the odl legal rule, "If the donut doesn't fit, you must acquitt!"
Red laser siight dot was bouncing all over that building if you cared to notice.
Was gonna be a one-sided turkey shoot with the "bad guys" she interupted.
Guess the shit bag pigs like to beat defenseless women now. It would be a real shame if they were shot on sight.
That link from earlier was chilling. Holy fuck was it chilling. Not only what they did, but to have it where it criminal if YOU discuss what you saw?
Clearly we are not operating under the rule of law. And people are going to start acting accordingly. Well, more often than they do.
Interesting as a case study, whenever one of these assclowns catches a bullet you see how the media circles the wagons around them.
So shooting them with cameras instead of bullets, and making people see as much of this as possible is going to be the only effective way of dealing with this.

The only problem is.... no videos. If there was a video it would be the top gray block article for 2 days straight.
Yep, no chart porn for that one.
Although the chart porn has become pretty much irrelevant. Maybe ZH could reinvent itself by taking a wider look at tyranny? Over the last few months there has been very little during the day about anything other than Hindenburg Omens and Worst Since Lehman articles. Only at night do the "God we are so fucking fucked by organized tyranny around the world" come out. By the time I see them the next morning they are already second page.
I miss fonz too. Man there were some fun times.
Hey, since I have you here, lemme tell you one more thing about the Negro. Funniest thread, EVER.
pods
Yeah, that was probably the best period of time since I was on the board. I'm told it was even better way back in the beginning- 2009-2010, but I wasn't here then.
Fonz is doing good. I email with him every now and then. He's even more fun in a private conversation. You might not think so, but he was holding back on ZH. His banishment by the Tylers was probably one of the most petty, vindictive things I've ever seen them do to a member at the time. But it's their board. They get to do what they want.
Hey ask him if he is on Imgur (sp?) by that same username. If it is him, I got it bookmarked and I will sign up and drop him a note.
Back when I signed up (after the blogspot days) there were really good discussions going on. Articles seemed to last longer. I listened more than I commented. Quality over quantity. Now since ZH is sort of like a headline news source, it is different. Next year is going to suck here because the voting people come front and center. I usually back away around then. Just too much left-right going on.

where is that guy lately?
I just shot him and email for you about this.
Sweet. I'll hook him up with some Vallium so he can come back here. Francis comes back every now and again. Seems to be walking the line well enough. The ADL troll brigade probably had budget cuts, so that helps.

I thought Fonz tried to get himself kicked off. IIRC, he thought he spent too much time on ZH. Didn't he ask them to shut down his account and they didn't do it? I always enjoyed his posts, he seemed to be a common sense kinda guy.
He took a sabbatical for a month or so, but then fired off when there were a lot of cop shootings going on.
Everyone needs a ZH break now and again though. You have to spend time away to recharge your "give a fuck" bucket. After so long, you empty it.
pods
Ya, I get stuck here far too often as well. I read more than I post but I have been around for over 4 years I think, and I was reading the site for about a year before I signed up. I do appreciate the things that you regulars have to say though. And I wish Fonz was still around. Sadly, it seems everything that has been talked about on this site is coming to pass in one way shape or form. Seems to be happening faster and faster---just like swirling the drain faster and faster right before you go down the drain. But I keep coming back, it does seem to keep me sane, verifying what I see with my own eyes. Thank goodness for Bombay Sapphire and tonic.
ZH is borrowing the Drudge Report success model to sell advertising.
November brings the WallyWorld videos of desperate shoppers killing each other to save $10 on an item they'll quit using by late December.
Who cares what it takes to sell advertising, as long as you can keep selling...???
Bogus,
I agree. The content has really been 50% crap. I've seen others complain of the "filler".
I was on here from the days of the old site. I used to comment quite a bit at one time, but these days I only skim the headlines and sometimes the first page of comments (as now).
In the past most of the actual writing was really good. Lately not so much. Lately, I think some of the writers must be mentally retarded.
Yeah yeah I know "then write your own blog fuck-tard." Whatever. Just makes me sorta sad how things always turn into crap. Look even the Rolling Stone is crap. Well maybe it always was crap and I failed to notice.
Yeah, there's some of that going around, but it happens when any board gets popualar. OK, a lot. Eventually it attracts the mentally disturbed, sociopaths and your general nincompoops running a little short on IQ points from generations of inbreeding.
I suggested to Fonz that he just add another 'n' to his screen name and come back on. (His first screen name was fonzanoon, then he changed it to fonzannoon after he was thrown off the first time). Third time's the charm, I told him!
He said "Why? You and Doc usually say what I was going to say anyway."
"Yeah, but not the WAY you say it," I told him. That was my best shot. He said he wasted too much time on here anyway, probably better to go cold turkey and just stay away for good. And that was that.
I'm thinking maybe I'll make a run at being MillionDollarBonus or something for a while. I got lots of snark bet I could nail it. What do you think? Should I hard-troll the fuck out of this place?
I've thought about it. Man that would be fun. I am saving my go for election time. People lose their minds around then.

I was going to feed Putin to the tiger at one point but didn't finish it. Given events maybe I should. Spoiler: Kali loves him and they become great pals.
Yes to all of that. I used to be amazed at the breadth and depth of the discussions in the comments during the blogspot days and shortly thereafter. Now I hardly scroll past the article.
You will certainly recall that the earlier days provided far more financially - focussed coverage, with much less "other news" (such as this article). ZH coverage has certainly broadened (so it may be inevitable that readership profile has also broadened too). Also remember that in the "early days" many did not have access to ADSL / broadband equivalent connection (I certainly didn't), so that in turn may have limited "contributary" readership.
I suspect many readers still choose to lurk rather than join up (so of course no commentary - but the giveaway is the number of page reads per article - this "hot topic" alone has gained 66,000 ++ as I type this!), and only a tiny fraction of the "consumers" choose to contribute.
For me, ZH still provides a very useful "one stop shop" to see just what the MSM prefer we don't see (along with e.g. RT), and as such the increased breadth of coverage has been an improvement (purely from my viewpoint).
As always, "Your mileage may vary", and this proviso will apply to ALL blogs. It is a pity that the Tylers have chosen to "ban" many interesting contributors / commentators, since this would seem at odds with their lambasting of the so-called "Free Press". However, it is their blog,so they do have this right (and no-one knows what "legal pressure" was applied to cause such events, though we can all surmise).
Cheeky Bastard...

Link?
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/417155/wisconsins-shame-i-thought-...
Yeah, National Review. I know. Don't give me shit for that. Duo found the link. There's probably more by now but I haven't had the time to see if it's popping up anywhere else online. Radio talk shows in my area are yacking about it, though.
I read that. I'd go public anyway. But I'm fortunate enough to have decent judges in my particular federal district (I've actually argued a case pro se with them, so I'm speaking from personal experience,) and that's how I'd go public. With summonses.
Yikes. I have to say that I am not surprised. But, that does not make it any easier to digest. Guess things are a little further along than I suspected. This does deserve a lot more attention.
All sounds the same as Ancient Rome when the soldiers sacked the city in repayment for pensions/promises that evaporated. Always figured it would start off small (shift in ticket and confiscation practices - check) and build it's way to outright theft at gunpoint.
"Guess things are a little further along than I suspected."
That's exactly why it was so chilling, in my opinion. This is secret police raids like we're in some 3rd world dictatorship. Not "kinda/sorta" but full-blown, right here, right now, today. Not just the theft part, but the intimidation and persecution of anyone who doesn't agree with you. These people are lucky to be alive. Can you imagine if any of them resisted? They would have gunned them down in their own house. Of that I have ZERO doubt.
Not trying to be incendiary, but there are gonna be a lot of dead cops when the shit hits the fan. I don't say that as a threat or with any great happiness, simply as an observation of the way things are heading. The police are vastly outnumbered by everyone else, and plenty of people will use a national emergency as an excuse to go hog-wild (pun intended). Abuse has been going on for a long time, and we're only now hearing about it because of cellphones and the internet. Lots of wronged people out there will be looking for payback.
I've said it before, but being a garbage collector is statistically more dangerous than being a cop, for fuck's sake. The longer we put up with this crap, the worse it'll be for everyone — cops included.
THis^^^
The bad part is that a lot of cops aren't bad people, but so long as they stand idly by as their coworkers violate other people, they are not good cops. But some of them are your neighbors, relatives, etc... Because of that, it could get very messy. As in brother vs brother messy. I dislike police abuse more than most, but that doesn't mean that I'm looking forward to what will happen when SHTF.
And it'll get even more interesting (as in "may you live in interesting times" interesting) when the cops realize that their pensions have been vaporized. It will be a volatile mix.
Not just the cops. But public pensions in general. The whole thing is going to come apart eventually. Chances are it won't just "end" suddenly. It will be a slow motion train wreck. Reductions, lawsuits, protests, strikes, tax increases, cost shifting, service reductions, added fees for everyone, tickets and fines for everything, etc. The modern equivalent of cities being sacked.
The whole fabric of society is going to torn apart in the process.
I think there's a good chance that the vaporizing of pensions will be a municipality here and there, then WHAMMO! We wake up one morning a couple of months after Yellen has taken to the press and said "The problems in financial product XYZ are contained, blah blah blah..." and the problem will not have been contained and *POOF!* The financial system is locked up. Pensions are vaporized. The secondary and tertiary effects of that will take time, but you can't squeeze blood from a turnip.
This kind of thing is becoming more common and you have to figure those employed by govt., not just the cops, know there are a lot of people who don't like or trust them.
You also have to figure govt employees they feel the same way about everybody else. That seems to be the main battle line. Gov. vs everybody else.
That's probably one of the reasons why govt is such a large employer.
Everybody feels justified in their actions. Cops and crooks alike. But this is escalation and both sides are becoming better armed and more justified every day.
Thanks for the link Mr No Debt. All I can say is Holy Shit!!

She did get in his way of doing his job.
The problem is that they are speaking the truth. If the public at large every knew what their actual jobs were to fuck over and intimidate as many perps as possible in the most adrenalin boosting manner, well that might reflect bad on all these shaved head linebacker looking cocksuckers.

Isn't there some legal precendent for self-defense of property? i.e., isn't that woman within-her-rights to punch that dude in the face the moment he attacked her person and property? He is not operating within the bounds of law at that point, seems perfectly reasonable to punch him.
She is standing too close and her mouth is running the whole time. Not smart to interrupt their cop game. They don't like that. The game is all it is for a lot of them. Control.
No shit. Hard to sympathize. Weapons are drawn, 10 people tied up & face down, and you have this annoying idiot, yapping away behind her phone from 10 ft away...I would've done the same thing frankly. That phone has had a killer zoom, why stand so close to that madness? She was baiting them...
.

You'll notice from the Slager video there was a fence between him and the camera. The reason the incident in this post is a problematic is the cop didn't see that there were TWO cameras on him. Take home message is they need to be more observant.
I never down vote but in the case of MillionDollarBonus_ a down arrow is an up. Whenever I read the sweet poetry that flows from the pen of MDB the hair on my neck stands up and my body is covered in goose bumps …..
Pladizow, There may be one other method of stopping this shit, as the only reason it continues, is because they conduct themselves with impunity.
I'm re-posting a comment from earlier this morning Re; a thread http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-04-22/turkish-student-sentenced-priso... started off by duo and this link he posted in the comments http://www.nationalreview.com/article/417155/wisconsins-shame-i-thought-...
Here's my reply to Pods;
" And what if one of those cops caught a bullet or ten?"
Pods, This shows the importance of knowing one's neighbors. There comes a time when entire neighborhoods need to intervene when they see shit like this happening, and that time is obviously here.
Edit; Impunity:
n. noun
I saw that and it reminds me of what it is like in many places in Latin America. There it is more compound based, but in the US it could be done by neighborhood.
The biggest problem is most of the people with testosterone are gone from the houses for a good period of time.
But the way things are going, I think there will be a shift back to clannish behavior modified for geography.
pods
it reminds me of what it is like in many places in Latin America.
True, but in Latin America they don't worship cops.

I have posted that if there is an egregious wrongful death that the city gets sued along with the cops pension plan for the city or district not the individual cop. The plan. 50/50. The city pays half and the pension plan pays half.
Wrongful shootings would end after the first case. This goes for cops shooting people's dogs for no reason.
That or armed citizens surrounding these clowns and placing them under citizen's arrest. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
I like what you're saying...
Amen to that!
On the other hand, there may have been a real security issue there. The arrests were likely drug related and may have involved an informant or undercover cop. Revealing the identity of an undercover cop would be bad. But in no way would such a legitimate concern exhonerate the violation of that woman's rights in that vid. The best way to prevent revealing identities would be for informants and undercover officers to be nowhere near that scene.
"The only thing that stops this behavior is being able to personally sue a cop and get his assets as oppossed to settlements with tax payer dollars or being able to sue the cops pension fund, so his buddies then bust his chops!"
All public employees should be made to insure taxpayers for the costs of damages and settlement costs for negligence and gross micsonduct as well as missing budgetary funds. The cost for such insurance shall be paid by direct deduction from public employee paychecks.

That darned purse always seems to burn doesn't it...
I knew a fireman that had so much time in his hands he was also a full time real estate agent
A friend of mine is married to a fire captain. Together, they have literally traveled the world. Trips every month or so for weeks at a time.
RC,
The first time I had to call the fire department was when a welder was installing decorative security bars over the windows of a commercial property that my family owned. A spark dropped into the wall and started a fire hidden behind the wall and under the floor. The room filled with smoke, but we could not tell where it was coming from.
When the fire department arrived, I initially became angry at slow they were gearing up and proceeding. From the outside it looked like they were taking their sweet time. But all of a sudden, someone barked a direction and everyone who was standing around went into high gear.
After it was over, they took us in. They had carefully covered all of our equipment and nicer furniture with clear plastic tarps to protect it from water damage. They had pinpointed the fire behind the wall and done very little damage other than what was necessary to expose it. They had carefully done the same with the floor.
They also left a couple men with us at the location for several more hours to watch for a flare up, which did happen and was quickly caught. They were such professionals and I now understand that what first looked like standing around was in actuality assessing the situation.
The second time I had to call a fire department was when I set the woods on fire by burning a pile of boxes and Christmas paper. The ground had standing water, but the burning paper went airborne and settled into a tree full of dried December leaves. It hopped to a second tree in seconds flat!
The firemen drove that truck around into the woods behind my home like it was an ATV. They put out the fires in less than 5 minutes flat. Then they brought out a chainsaw and took down a tree that was still smoldering and looked like a large branch of it was dead and hollow.
They moved through the 5 acres of woods looking for any further signs of fire and then called it clear and left.
Two different fire stations. Two different incidents years apart. Both times I have been totally impressed. I sent thank you cards and giant popcorn tins to both. The men I watched, easily deserve 150k a year for what they do. I've got no problem with that.
I was raised believing policemen and firemen were heroes, just like on TV. After becoming an adult and experiencing situations where I've had to call both, I still think firemen are pretty wonderful.
Gold eyed cat. They are people doing a JOB. Why are they heroes? They do a job just like you and me. They work a third of the year and they deserve to make 150k a year? Really? They chose their profession just as you and I did. I expect everyone to be good at their job. I would love it if my boss told me I could "work" 24 and be off 48 and be provided grub and a comfortable place to sleep and be looked at as a hero and have a business on the side (as most do) and have a pension. Hero my ass. A man doing a job that he chose to do. If I was a fireman I would make damn sure I took care of people to the extreme so I would be sure and keep all of the the nice bennies. Especially if they were business owners. Understand I am not denigrating fireman, I am just saying they are not "special" they are just men doing their job. They deserve no "special" consideration.
I did not say they were heroes. I said I thought they were pretty wonderful. The fact is if the firemen that responded to my call acted like today's police force, the commercial property would have burned to the ground with all the property inside it. And then a few years later I would have burned down 5 acres of my woods and probably set my neighbors barn on fire. :p
That did not happen. I am thankful firemen still seem to give a damn. That's all.
Edited to say, I also don't think 150k a year is ridiculous. I don't want to do it. I wouldn't want my kids to do it. But then I've been told I am spoiled, so maybe our views on reasonable pay is different.
Their salaries are paid by taxpayers, therefore they shouldn't be paid 1%er salaries. And don't forget those "civil servant" 1%er golden retirement packages. These high salaries and pensions are the reason places like Illinois are on the verge of bankruptcy.
FINE. I looked it up on Indeed.
"Once the firefighter has completed one year of service and obtained EMT certification, firefighters also receive an addition $5100 annually from the State of Louisiana which increases firefighter salary to $34,046."
So there you go. THAT'S your 1%er paycheck?! A whopping $35k a year for being a fireman in my state.
Jeeze! Some of you guys seem to have a hard on for firemen... which in my opinion is one of the FEW last remaining USEFUL state employees.
There are literally thousands of parasite state jobs and programs that are bleeding taxpayers to DEATH. But seriously, firemen aren't high on my hit list. They put out fires when you call them, they don't shoot people, and they seem to still give a damn about their job.
But I guess some of you don't see it that way. :p
in the town i used to live in the mayor of 40 years refused to hire a full time fire department for a city of 70000 people. we lived in an urban area. there aren't many volunteer fire departments in urban settings. the mayor got the core group of professional firefighters from surrounding cities by offering them full boat health insurance for the fireman and his family. in return the firemen trained local volunteers who received nothing but goodwill. it worked until the turn of the 21st century. when the new mayor took over upon the old mayor's retirement(no one ever came close to taking his job in over 40 years as mayor) she hired a professional full time fire fighting force, saddling the town with a lifetime of taxpayer obligation for their retirements.
having said that, all the firemen i have met are pretty good guys and very professional. can't cops are even close to that observation.
Oh yeah , 3 on 3 off ... nothing happens but maybe a run to a business where there's a false alarm to respond to ... Then after 10 years or so you claim a back injury and you get full pension forever... I work for a medical provider that has to investigate/verify their disability claims ... most if not all are fake but we're told to go along with it... The honest firemen have a second regular job with irregular hours ... like maybe they have a Air and Heat business ,,, and they consider their fire job to be their downtime....
I visited my brother at his station one day. Wasn't there. Oh, here he comes now! Where was he? He and his firemen buds where at the park having a......picnic. A freakin picnic. They then each retired to their little cells and had a nice little nap. Now retired, he gets a pension of about $50,00 to $60,000 per year. Well isn't that nice.
first responder blasphemy ! I am sure we need a fire truck or two, at least one EMT crew and several police agencies whenever somebody thinks they are gonne get sick on the side of the road or maybe have a heart attack from eating too much Mcdonalds ? This is all quite necessary in USSA today !
No over reaction at all either ? just good ole Amerikans on the gov tit !
rccalhoun and all his up-thumbers are total asses!
Next time your house catches on fire, call a ZeroHedge gamer...see what happens
Here in redneck land, it is all volunteer fire departments. They just get the thrill of riding around in a big red truck with sirens on.
Around here, when two cars touch bumpers, at least 1 firetruck, 2 ambulances, and 4 cops show up and sit around for at least an hour.
Or, when my former neighbor suffered a stroke (RIP neighbor), not 1, but 4 ambulances and a firetruck showed up and blocked my dirt driveway for over 2 hours.
I think these guys go out on calls just to be seen so they can justify their ridiculous salaries and benefits more often than not.
It's almost like when a cop finds weed in somebody's car, they call for backup and you'll see about 4-6 cop cars surrounding the 'criminal's' car.
Fraud backed by violence. FUCK YEAH!
'
Fuck off. The firemen and women in my city are all volunteers and train for fires and medical emergencies to help their neighbors out. I'm not one, but I'm also not so dense (as the 152 up votes) to lump an entire group of people into whatever problems your local fire department must have. The only "benefit" the folks here get is the 3k tax deduction, everything else is completely selfless.
The real problem with ZeroHedge is that it is becoming more mainstream. The quality of the comments have really deteriorated. This is a story about a US Marshal being a complete jerk off, and you have an idiot like rccalhoun loop in some other entirely unrelated issue. It's kind of sad that the more intelligent commentors that had something to add to the conversation seem to have fled or just don't speak up any longer.
Bone dry sarcasm there MDB.
Notice the Woman filming from in her house is whispering in fear.
Good squad coming to your neighborhood soon!
Do not question the Brown Shirts!
This just in:
You DO have a due process right to record police. That woman is correct.

Additionally, the police (cop in question) does NOT enjoy qualified immunity. Therefore, he can be sued personally.
His department can also be sued.

She has money on the way, just needs a hungry lawyer to "help".
Nice avatar pic. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
never !
What a load of shit!
MDB, do you ever get tired of sucking the statist cock?
He likes the big Red, White, and Blue shaft jammed up his ass. He thinks its anal love and we tell him its ass rape he glories in the delusion that he understands his lover and we do not.
If this was a "Respected" media outlet as you say, then its credibility would be near Zero like the New York Slimes or MSNBC.
Once ZH becomes "respected" then I will get my news somewhere else.
MDB. Here is a poem for you.
"Traditional" media can be reformed for Truth about as much as a meat grinder can be reformed into a cow uterus.
Soon we will see a policeman smash a phone that was used to film him smashing a phone...
all these bastids have to do is hit them with a beta lilly wave to make them aggressive.
the gear they're wearing is connected wirelessly.
see microwave weapons expert Barrie Trower.
we are being radiated with such a barage of frequencies it's mathmatically impossible to calculate.
What a douche bag. Eventually one of those thugs is going to pull that shit on the wrong person and either get the shit kicked out of them or shot, and the public ain't gonna be real sympathetic. That whole cop/soldier/first responder worship thing is wearing pretty thin these days.
That's why they're called pigs.
Well at least they are still eating at Mac swills
...."That whole cop/soldier/first responder worship thing is wearing pretty thin"
+1 for that. Infantile is what it is.
It's not infantile; it's sad.
And what's really sad is when I was a boy, I really did look up to the cops, and the firemen, and the military. They were the people who went into crime scenes, burning buildings, and warzones, when everyone else was running out. What's not to admire? Of course, in 1960's Toronto, life was pretty staid, and the cops were pretty calm.
Today's cops - even in staid Toronto - seem to be from a more aggressive, more angry, more in-your-face school than the cops when I was a teenager. I used to get 'carded' regularly when out late at night with friends (we were 12-16, walking through the neighbourhood quietly discussing the mysteries of life at 2 am), and I never once thought I would get slapped, let alone beaten, shot, or killed.
There was a time I respected authority; now, more often than not, I despise, ridicule, and (mostly) fear it.
God, Mark Levin makes me sick with that cop worship. In his world, the innocent deserved getting beat/killed etc.
Mark Levin is a fat little cunt who wouldn't know Constitutionality if it rear-ended him in his (overly compensating) red sports car while choking down one of those McDeath Burgers he loves so much.
I remember this guy during the occupy thing. cops didn't want any part of him

Honorable man. NO FEAR.
He told it as it is.
That is the way it needs be approached.
BOLD. NO FEAR.
So very true, I'm surprised a guy like that has lived to be middle aged. You try that shit in the wrong hood and cop or not, you're a dead man.
wearing thin ? more like just another of the many illuisions and bullshit stories we are forced to pay for ? fuck these guys , they have been on the gov tit far too long and gotten far too heavy handed.
but not all are this egregious and pathological .
It's more than being a douche bag. It's assault and destruction of property under color of authority. That "cop" is just a thug, a street tough, in the uniform of the state.
He should be charged with the crimes he commited, removed from the force and tossed in jail.
.
I see you're on your period again.
That got me laughing.
Not with a 500 pound Ziocop on it , it dont
Samsung Ting Wong phone
Why do I see this ending the same as it is in Russia, in re: dashcams. In other words, filming the police will become ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL if you want to stay alive. Everyone will be filming at the same time, so the cops destroying one smartphone would have negligible impact.
I think this will be catching on very soon...surprised it hasn't already (I'm guessing because dashcams here in the USSA may be a little pricey and not high on the priority list) but having one just may save a life in the future, a cop may think twice before shooting you for no reason if he sees a camera. Who am I kidding he'll shoot then bury the evidence
No, you can get a really good one for $60.
Who am I kidding he'll shoot then bury the evidence
Not when he believes that there is the possibility of being filmed by a second camera.
The first camera is a reminder that others may be around.
This incident is a case in point.
STOP OPERATING AS A PUSSY IN FEAR.
it already is essential !
Of course he looked like a merc. Gotta create jawbz for all those vets returning from war zones. What better place than the paramilitarized First Responers Corps.?
Exactly, Hire a VET! First train the fuckers to do the shittiest things imaginable to people then turn them loose on the USSA. Thats what our dear central planners want
too big a gut to be a recent VET, had to be on the FED Gov payroll for while to look that sloppy.
I bet that Marshal has never even set foot in Iraq. Most of these cops you see wearing the full body armor, kevlar and playing soldier have never been a soldier and if they have were not 11B. These guys get dressed up like it is halloween, go out, terrorize some US Citizens, get their power fix, then go home at night and take of their kit and sleep in bed like an 11-year old boy on halloween night.
The US Marshals will dust this under the rug and we will never find out who this guy is, but I doubt if he is a vet.
He's a US Marshall. Think even more entitled. She can consider herself lucky he didn't give her a dose of what he gave her camera for good measure. Apparently, he never thought there were other cameras on him.
He was implementing Marshall Law.
true dat negro !
You have to remember the police are not the sharpest tools in the shed.
That's true, but each and every one of them is a bully at heart and willing to use force and violence with or without provocation. That badge gives them free rein to indulge inclinations that would otherwise be socially unacceptable and even criminal.
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
When they are allowed to act with impunity and not held accountable this is what you get.
They are the biggest threat to our lives and liberty. Not ISIS, not Obola, not drugs, not blacks (unless you live in a majority black area but I digress).
They are the ones that can assault you, steal your property, invade your home, and even summarily execute you and you cannot defend yourself from them, unlike the ISIS or thugs.
Fraud backed by violence.
Assualt, theft and destruction of property. Arrest him !!
The difference between the two is increasingly negligible.
You waited all day to say 'assclown', didn't you, Bob?
