Paul Craig Roberts: "Truth Is Washington's Enemy"
Authored by Paul Craig Roberts,
US Representative Ed Royce (R, CA) is busy at work destroying the possibility of truth being spoken in the US. On April 15 at a hearing before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs of which Royce is chairman, Royce made use of two minor presstitutes to help him redefine all who take exception to Washington’s lies as “threats” who belong to a deranged pro-Russian propaganda cult.
Washington’s problem is that whereas Washington controls the print and TV media in the US and its vassal states in Europe, Canada, Australia, Ukraine, and Japan, Washington does not control Internet sites, such as this one, or media, such as RT, of non-vassal states. Consequently, Washington’s lies are subject to challenge, and as people lose confidence in Western print and TV media because of the propaganda content, Washington’s agendas, which depend on lies, are experiencing rougher sledding.
Truth is bubbling up through Washington’s propaganda. Confronted with the possibility of a loss of control over every explanation, Hillary Clinton, Ed Royce, and the rest are suddenly complaining that Washington is “losing the information war.” Huge sums of taxpayers’ hard earned money will now be used to combat the truth with lies.
What to do? How to suppress truth with lies in order to remain in control? The answer says Andrew Lack, Royce, et alia, is to redefine a truth-teller as a terrorist. Thus, the comparison of RT and “dissident” Internet bloggers to the Islamist State and the designated terror group, Boko Haram.
Royce expanded the definition of terrorist to include dissident bloggers, such as Chris Hedges, John Pilger, Glenn Greenwald and the rest of us, who object to the false reality that Washington creates in order to serve undeclared agendas. For example, if Washington wants to pour profits into the military/security complex in exchange for political campaign contributions, the politicians cannot say that. Instead, they claim to protect America from a dangerous enemy or from weapons of mass destruction by starting a war. If politicians want to advance American financial or energy imperialism, they have to do so in the name of “bringing freedom and democracy.” If the politicians want to prevent the rise of other countries, such as Russia, President Obama has to depict Russia as a threat comparable to the Ebola virus and the Islamist State.
Noam Chomsky summed it up when he said that Washington regards any information that does not repeat Washington’s propaganda to be intolerable.
Washington’s assault on truth as a threat helps to make sense of the gigantic National Security Agency spy system exposed by William Binney and Edward Snowden. One of the purposes of the spy network is to identify all “dissidents” who challenge Big Brother’s “Truth.”
There is, or will be, a dossier on every “dissident” with all of the dissident’s emails, Internet searches, websites visited, phone calls, purchases, travels. The vast amount of information on each dissident can be combed for whatever can be taken out of context to make a case against him, if a case is even needed. Washington has already successfully asserted its power over the Constitution to indefinitely detain without charges and to torture and to murder US citizens.
It was a couple of years ago that Janet Napolitano, head of Homeland Security, said that the department’s focus had shifted from terrorists to domestic extremists. Lumped into the category of domestic extremists are environmental activists, animal rights activists, anti-war activists which includes disillusioned war veterans, and people who believe in states’ rights, limited government and accountable government. Consequently, many dissidents, America’s best citizens, will qualify as domestic extremists on several accounts. Chris Hedges, for example, is an advocate for animals as well as concerned about the environment and Washington’s never-ending wars.
The spying and the coming crackdown on “dissidents” might also explain the $385 million federal contract awarded to a subsidiary of Dick Cheney’s firm, Halliburton, to build detention camps in the US. Few seem to be concerned with who the camps are to detain. There is no media or congressional investigation. It seems unlikely that the camps are for hurricane or forest fire evacuees. Concentration camps are usually for people regarded as unreliable. And as Lack, Royce, et alia have made clear, unreliable people are those who do not support Washington’s lies.
A perceived need by Washington, and the private power structure that Washington serves, to protect themselves from truth could also be the reason for the very strange military exercises in various of the states to infiltrate, occupy, and round-up “threats” among the civilian population. (see http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-04-16/signs-elites-are-feverishly-preparing-something-big ) Even the presstitute CNN reported that the National Guard troops sent to Ferguson, Missouri, were programmed to view the civilian protesters as “enemy forces” and “adversaries,” and we know that the state and local militarized police are trained to view US citizens as threats.
As far as I can discern, not many Americans, whether Democrat or Republican, liberal, conservative, or super-patriot, educated or not, understand that Washington with the cooperation of its presstitute media has defined truth as a threat. In Washington’s opinion, truth is a greater threat than Ebola, Russia, China, terrorism, and the Islamic State combined.
A government that cannot survive truth and must resort to stamping out truth is not a government that any country wants. But such an undesirable government is the government that Clinton-Bush-Cheney-Obama-Hillary-Lack-Royce have given us.
Does it satisfy you? Are you content that in your name and with taxes on your hard-earned and increasingly scarce earnings, Washington in the 21st century has murdered, maimed, and displaced millions of peoples in eight countries, has set America on the path to war with Russia and China, and has declared truth to be an enemy of the state?

Below is the link to the video and it is a very good representation of how the US government controls the sheeple in this country (represented by the kids being controlled by their teachers). I believe things won't change in this country until the people revolt - as the children do at the end of the video...

‘Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party
seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good
of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long
life or happiness: only power, pure power. What pure power means you
will understand presently. We are different from all the oligarchies of
the past, in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those
who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German
Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods,
but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives.
They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power
unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just round the corner there lay
a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like
that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing
it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in
order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish
the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture
is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?’

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, INC. Title 28
Section 3002 15a, b, and c, under U.S. Code, was established under treasonously signed ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION, on February 21st, 1871 by THE CROWN CORPORATION, now known as THE IMF. Our old capital city, Washington city, was also sold to them that day. Thus, we have never had any say in the CORPORATION that is posing as the governing seat of our nation.
In 1939, they began the BERTH/BIRTH CERTIFICATE/MOTHER BOND SCAM on WALL STREET. The catch with these "human enslaving stocks" is that the owners of these human enslaving MOTHER bonds cannot collect on the bonds, until their supposed HUMAN PRODUCTS are dead! And guess which corporation has the largest investments in those evil bonds? WALMART! And I was given this information, by the former 30 year Director of Florida's Disaster Management Department, James Timothy Turner. The last that I heard of that good man was that he had been sentenced to over 100 years in prison, for tax evasion.?
NOW is the time for all good Americans to come to the aid of their country.

Governments by their nature lie in order to rule the people as the country's elties would most like them ruled. Democracy is supposed to change that, and give average people a voice through the vote. But we have a two party system, with candidates screened by the same elites, before they are allowed to run. So elites select the two candidates. This is how Iran runs their elections. Corporations and big money, along with military interests dominate congress with cold hard cash bribes, called campaign funding.
As for Washington, their level of lies has grown and grown until it now has reached critical mass! Dictatorships lie, the Washington rulers lie nearly on the same level. Only they do it much more cleverly. Mass marketing and advertizing techniques are used. Even high levels of braibwashing tactics are used. The vehicle for most lies is the corporate media. They have editorial boards who command all, these boards are made up of people willing to play ball with corporate and government desires. A recent German book revealed how even the CIA hires hundreds of journalists to write pro USA and pro Washington stories.
Lets be clear. No journalist who does not follow editorial commands will ever have a career, they will be sacked in double quick time for investigative journalism into our wars, our lies, our overthrows of legitimate governments, our corporate controlled congress. The biggest media lie is that the people decide the congress and president. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Paul Craig Roberts is right, Washington will not accept freedom of information. They demand now the colplete control of the message. Any diviation is now terrorism. The greedy rich and militaristic imperial liars in Washington rival Soviet USSR liars and Nazi liars. Our deeds in the world increasingly rival communist and fascist war mongering and terror.
Washington's elites are Zionists, are tied to the major Banks, to AIPAC, to military corporate contractors, to the giant Spy complex. Under it all lies Zionism, Corporatism and Bankers. Read a list of the powers behind the politicians. Google is helpful. Read who is in APIAC, Who the Neocons are. Who the major Bankers and traders are. These forces demand government lie, and lie to control us and use us, and abuse us.
+100 However, while Google can be a bit helpful - at least for now - even more helpful is understanding who/what is Sergey Brin and who/what was Google's founding investor.
Google/Twitter/Facebook/YouTube are all enemy weapons systems.
we were a democratic republic. now we are a .................. fill in the blank.
a democracy is 2 wolves and a sheep deciding whats for dinner.
"a democracy is 2 wolves and a sheep deciding whats for dinner."
Funny line, but not quite correct. I see democracy as the opposite of being dictated to. ZHrs have a built in antipathy for the thought of the rabble voting unto themselves the hard work of others, and I share that common sense sentiment. But that manifestation is but one of the possible outcomes of democratic action. What about a community democratically deciding to oppose the introduction of GMOs, etc.?
I think democracy fails when it is dissociated from either ownership or citizenship (which would entail obligation: e.g., one lives and works within the community, so has a personal stake in the common welfare). Is 'democratic republic' the best of both worlds?
I agree that these slogans are not that useful except for identifying the problem. However, in a pure 'democracy', all a corrupt leader has to do to subvert the will of a community, is simply import more and more 'immigrants' until community will is so diluted by newcomers that the leader finds it easy to confuse and destabilise the population, and manipulate (or bribe) them to 'vote' in whatever way the leader wants. (That's not even considering the problem of who counts the votes.) So some prior investment in the community I think is required for any kind of democratic representation to work.
Right, I was mainly reacting to the ongoing 'theft of language' in the same way that "conspiracy theorist" as pejorative is used to end any rational discussion of elite, colluded high crimes.
Democracy is indeed two wolves and a sheep voting on what is for dinner. If a majority decide that something you do is bad, they will send the cops after you.
Republics are supposed to protect the rights of minorities.

Paul Craig Roberts is correct, agreed. But the priority in my mind is a lot less about surveying the damage (which I believe is now irreparable), and a lot more about what to DO from here on in.
I think by now informed readers here would not argue that North American people are owned assets of their respective corporate entities. Perhaps it is clear by now that this has been the case since various smaller groups (states, provinces) agreed to be collectivised under a federalised corporate umbrella, which is what removed our autonomy in the first place. After that it was only a matter of time until regulatory capture, which was inevitable sooner or later. (Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.) It follows that the best and maybe the only realistic cure, is to organise as small groups and to begin seceding from these large corporate entities.
I would like to see discussion of how realistic this solution is. I do not think the problems of transparency, remote governance, taxation without representation, etc. are fixable now. Federalisation and centralisation have failed. The bankrupt condition of our corporate owners guarantees this; even if we did get some 'good guy' or representative leadership within our corporation, who did make government leadership more transparent or representative, how accountable to the owned peasantry could those leaders be, given that the assets of our countries already have contractual claims on them by foreign or corporate entities? Given that our debts have ALREADY been incurred by irresponsible decisions of past generations, how can a leader just break these contracts (default) without also collapsing our economies and/or ceding sovereignty to such 'rescuers' as the IMF and/or relying on trade with the same entities that we just defaulted on? That's not even considering how little international good will, and power, our leaders actually have. (e.g., Little to None.) Our countries are partners of various international groups with obligations attached, and consequences for not fulfilling them; and also must survive against huge international trading groups that we are not part of (e.g., SCO, AIIB).
At this point even if somehow we managed to 'reclaim' our national governments -- a nearly impossible task in and of itself, given our total state capture -- those 'reclaimed' governments would still be bound by the destructive prior obligations of the national corporate entity. Their interests would be divided between our ALREADY EXISTING contractual obligations, our powerlessness (given our condition of national bankruptcy), and their responsibilities toward the local population.
For example, what happens when Trans-Pacific Partnership goes thru? Once it's passed, there's very little a government within the country can do. What about unrealistic social programs such as Barkycare, or even just our various unfunded national social benefits schemes? Those are already in place and doing damage, with more to come. There is very little that even a 'good guy' government could do as long as it remains a part of this particular federal corporation. Greece would be prime example of this, but just b/c we are not in the 'euro' group, doesn't mean we're off the hook for the groups that our nations are part of or sweeping legislation that covers massive areas of the economy. What would a president or prime minister personally do about our fractional reserve currency system? (Given that we have no manufacturing to speak of, and many of our assets are 'owned'.) What would s/he do about the captured 'Supreme Court'? ALL this would need to be refigured, and that takes a lot of time, and do you just sweep all the failing existing structures out of place with a wave of your leaderly wand? What would a president or prime minister, even a 'good guy', personally do about foreign-owned assets, or various UN initiatives such as Agenda 21? I don't know but I suspect that our national corporate governments already have international obligations covered by confidentiality contracts that we cannot even discuss in public without legal consequences.
Honestly, at this point secession is the ONLY workable solution that I can see; by which I mean, secession from the national government at the municipal or state or provincial level, so that the national corporate identity no longer has any claim on local, self-governing groups for the debts that it owes. I would like to see articles discussing how realistic (or unrealistic) secession is, rather than even more detail on how criminal and broken the national corporate model is. It seems to me that at this point, given that our nations are functionally bankrupt whether or not we like to admit it, reclaiming the national government is not only hopeless but futile even if attained.
Secession would involve the following risks: 1) war against the newly seceded group, either by military or by trade or currency; 2) developing self-sufficient structures within that group; 3) establishing some sort of diplomatic relations and trade with the prior national government and foreign groups; 4) what kind of alternative government structures one would have to form before a group could consider itself ready to secede; 5) what kind of currency one would use and who is empowered to issue it.
I appreciate Paul Craig Roberts for telling it like it is, and comments like yours, BUT again, to me this is simply reiterating something that should be common knowledge to us by now. Our countries, as corporations, can no longer work and probably cannot even survive much longer. The first job for us, as owned peasants, must be to reclaim our sovereignty rather than our captured and bankrupt governments. (This is possible but extremely risky on the individual level.) I hope, someday, to see articles here on the Hedge and discussion in the comments as to how best to form small, like-minded groups, and what information would have to be collected, in order to achieve this.
Thank you for that comment. Yes we need to move to solutions. No one has asked me to write an article on it, but here in my view is the blue print for what America 2.0 looks like http://www.amazon.com/Localism-Philosophy-Government-Mark-Moore/dp/06922...
We start with item three from that, an example of which in real life is here http://www.arneighbors.org
I like the term 'localism' as the amazon book ad presents it. Seems very suitable for what I was trying to get at.
<<As the author describes localism, it is 'all about preventing the concentration of power in any one place'. ... As the author cautions, 'For those who fear this solution falls short of perfection, I urge you not to compare it to perfection ... rather compare it to the two alternatives.'>>
The concentration of power is the whole heart of where our countries are failing. This is why our populations no longer have power or even autonomy. We have become serfs owned by a corporate structure. (Peasantry by definition owns neither land nor assets, and merely works the land for its real owners.)
Your Neighbors website (I haven't seen it before and only just browsed it very quickly now, in reply to your comment) seems to make a good start in avoiding Party affiliation. I wonder how sufficient this is for the problem. I think it is not sufficient, b/c even unaffiliated 'independent' candidates would become part of the centralised machine. (Maybe your website addresses this further.) Even 'independent' candidates can become swallowed up if they are trying to function within large organised powerful groups, like a centralised government. That's sort of what I meant by electing 'good guys' to government; wouldn't work b/c the inertia of a centralised corporate government, and its prior obligations, will overwhelm even the unaffiliated 'good guy'. (Again, Greece provides an example of this.) I haven't spent enough time on your site yet to tell, but are you trying to save the system, by working within it according to its rules?
Secession begins with admitting that the corporation is lost; that its very structure (by centralising power) is doomed b/c even if 'good' candidates are elected, inevitably such power eventually corrupts. Secession is about removing oneself from a doomed corporate structure, rather than promoting good people further up the line to try to change the corporation within its corrupt rules and contracts. If you are really preventing the concentration of power in any one place, is secession not the superior answer, rather than electing better (unaffiliated) candidates who will have very little power, no matter how good they are, to change things in an entrenched and bankrupt corporate system?
Why don't you write an article about your system and submit it? (You could skip most of the what's wrong part since we are familiar with that, and just do the whole thing on details about what is different in your structure.) I look forward to reading more of your work, but that would be in my own time away from here. It would be great to have a discussion of this kind, under an article about solutions, right here on this site.
I concur with most all ofwhat you are saying. Tnere is really nothing worth saving of this contraption we are now riding in.
We can remain within the cUrrent Written CONSTITUTION; but having seen where our current tecnology is taking us we can put in new safegauards incuding new definitions of treason and its CERTAIN punishment and complete spelling out clearer protections of personal freedoms of all soverigns. Much of our current constitution is in dealing with the protection of propert rights.
Many things now have to be considered that were unheard of or non existent then.
It is about time that this kind of project be put on as an agenda for those now on board on this site. Everyone one of us has the ability t o start a real push toward a new american state if we get off our asses and start doing instead of bitching and moaning---and yes that also means whatach.
The new state of Atlantis.

I gave a lengthy reply with specifics on what my associates and I are DOING about our predicament, with some things about my history to show there was a reasonable chance these solution would work if a tireless minority got behind them, but that reply has vanished.
Seccessionism's a subset of doomsday prepping, Renfield. It's an inexact solution and last resort for desperate individuals, and a temporary bandage for a massive problem. It is one solution however. Thanks for starting the dialogue.
TPTB are one of the givens in this derivative calculus that includes overpopulation and food and water shortages, and they are the real key to finding a final and lasting solution. We have to put the money changers where they belong, out in front of this. They definitely don't want the exposure. The only recourse they have to remain in the shadows are pre-planned diversions and systematic changes to keep us off-balance, and extermination, ie nuclear war. The fools in Congress think they won't be held accountable. We have to disabuse them of this immediately.
I went to the outdoors gun range a few days ago. It was packed. People are scared, pissed off, awake, talking, trading, and shooting (of course).

on the British East India Company............
''It was at this moment that the East India Company (EIC) ceased to be a conventional corporation, trading and silks and spices, and became something much more unusual. Within a few years, 250 company clerks backed by the military force of 20,000 locally recruited Indian soldiers had become the effective rulers of Bengal. An international corporation was transforming itself into an aggressive colonial power.
Using its rapidly growing security force – its army had grown to 260,000 men by 1803 – it swiftly subdued and seized an entire subcontinent. Astonishingly, this took less than half a century. The first serious territorial conquests began in Bengal in 1756; 47 years later, the company’s reach extended as far north as the Mughal capital of Delhi, and almost all of India south of that city was by then effectively ruled from a boardroom in the City of London. “What honour is left to us?” asked a Mughal official named Narayan Singh, shortly after 1765, “when we have to take orders from a handful of traders who have not yet learned to wash their bottoms?”''

''Bundy was the chief architect of America's Southeast Asia policy; a policy that pitched a superpower against a nation the size of Mississippi and one barely out of the Stone Age and the superpower lost! … Something was surly wrong here.
Proper study of this period reveals a hidden agenda to the Vietnam War not only because of the way in which America got embroiled but also in the manner by which it was conducted. A war that should have taken America six months to win took over ten years for it to lose. The Globalist intriguers used the war in Vietnam as a smokescreen to conceal a co-ordinated effort to move America and her people towards Socialism. That is, a terrible distraction so that socialist programmes and other social engineered initiatives would have the least resistance possible, what Bundy termed, a "heavy reaction." The Global Elite understand the human condition and the corrupting influence of Welfarism: they know that once people are accustomed to receiving government handouts, they will continue voting to receive them. The Global Elite also understand that throughout history Democratic Socialism has always meant the wholesale corruption of elected representatives and ultimately to tyranny. Lyndon B Johnson was the figurehead of this Socialisation of America behind the slogan of the "Great Society," a programme that would otherwise face ferocious opposition from all right and proper thinking people. However, as American soldiers were dying in rice paddies in Southeast Asia all right and proper people deemed it correct to rally behind their government. Had America won the war as easily as she should have, or pulled out at a far earlier date, then all decent Americans, not distracted by the horror of the war, would have been able to see the danger and mobilise to block the "Great Society" and other legislation that attacked morality and moral civic society. A situation McGeorge Bundy understood and was gracious enough to tell it to his fellows in the CFR: "The real consequence of a pullout in Southeast Asia . . . would almost surely be heavy reaction." Gentle reader, understand, Objective History is never related in orthodox accounts. Why? Because the wicked and evil machinations of the Global Elite will be revealed and this they will not allow for it will also alert the ordinary person to their Evil Agenda for a World Empire. ''

“A few years ago the German Minister of Justice—kind of like the Attorney General here in the United States—he was pushing very hard for Germans to have biometric data on their national ID cards, and he wanted all Germans to be fingerprinted. And the Germans pushed back, particularly privacy advocates and those in the Chaos Computer Club. And so what they did is when the German Minister of Justice was out at a restaurant, they went ahead and after he left they got the glass that he had left behind, and they were able to lift his fingerprint off of the glass. They then took a photograph, brought it into Photoshop, cleaned it up, and then were able to replicate it on 3D printers, in latex. … [They] included it as a handout in their Chaos Computer Club magazine that went out to 5,000 people, and they encouraged their readers to leave the Justice Minister’s fingerprints at crime scenes all over Germany, which they did.”

Washington does not want the truth because Washington can't handle the truth. Unfortunately, governments are not in the truth business these days as ratings rule. This is the best article on zerohedge that I have seen up till now. I don't say this lightly because I like every article on this website. Since I am one who has a passion for economics and history I can actually say that this post actually summed up everything that is currently going on. I have been kicked out of every single website that has anything to do with public interaction. They claimed that I violated their terms of service which I most obviously did not.
Most websites that allow you to interact with users prefer lies that make the state and its oppression look good. Even if its all based on lies and if all you do is insult people with childish name calling and cursing. Then of course that never violates their term of service.
